  1. My skin is eating scents today. I thought it was Cacao Amor at first, but the Aja I layered over it has faded away. I find Aja to be quite aggressive with its throw, so definitely unusual for that one to disappear. So sadly Cacao Amor faded quietly away & I can't gauge about lasting power or the fade off because my skin ate it so quickly.
  2. I usually think of Tootsie pops with most chocolate scents, but Cacao Amor doesn't go that direction. All the notes say "gourmand" to me, but somehow it's staying very perfume-y? Also, I'm not getting a lot of sillage, this one is wearing very close to the skin for me. I'm going to check back to see how I feel about it at bedtime. It's a very interesting scent, regardless.

    Buds of May

I love Buds of May. Lilly always comes off as such a classic white scent to me, but the apple & sugar combine with it for a fresh/modern take.
  4. I can see why PM kept a bottle of this! Everything is very well blended, no one note sticks out to me. Even the dirty honey is behaving itself for me. Usually, I amp dirty kinds of honey & they go to smelling extremely musky. The amber does lend a slight incense vibe to me.
  5. Ok, 1st impression; very sweet, but still masculine. After 10 minutes the LP Homme base shines through accented w/ the spicy notes. Given my love of Eanie Meany Miney & Rajah, this is a home run for me. I would have my nose buried in the neck of the man wearing this, constantly.
  6. I love this! The strawberry amps in the beginning, but settles down after 10 minutes, it then becomes indistinguishable to my nose from the other fruits. The floral aspects are more subdued. Normally cardamom likes to amp & turn to some type of Indian food smell on my skin, but it's behaving & staying in the background with this blend.
  7. I have no idea which version came in the PE sample set. Based on what my nose is picking out, I'm going to guess that it's V.2. I like it. It's very clean & basic. I think V.2 would definitely be office friendly. The Egyptian musk does give the perfume a little hint of exotic incense, but just the faintest whisper.
  8. A smokey take on the favorite combo of Honey-Amber-Musk! Orange blossom honey and Aja, deep amber and perfumey musk, swirled with woodsmoke.
  9. I order ingredients from suppliers all over the world, and many of them send itty samples along with my purchases. Too tiny to use as an actual ingredient, just a sniff. Once in a while I group them all together in like types and blend them - all odds and ends, thus whiskers and tails. I would like to make this a regular thing, and for this one, I chose a bunch of light and airy notes that I thought would be like a delicate spring breeze. I would classify it as a gauzy fruity floral, with notes of violet, gardenia, orchid, primrose, mango, strawberry, vanilla, honey and cardamom. That sounds heavy, but it's not. It's more in the sheer floriental vein, and I am making this first W&T offering at half our usual price.
  10. Sophia chose her ingredients well for her "seductive attraction potion". This one is filled with dark womanly sex appeal and determination for sure! Black orchid and tuberose over dirtiest honey, mouth watering vanilla and a drop of amber. I may have to steal one of these for myself. Divine!
  11. This is Julie's Savannah cat, Chupi! I'm dyin' here. What a cutie! Julie came into the shop for a bottle of Black Star Lavender, and loved it, but when she found out she could design her own scent and have Chupi on the label, well! Julie's blend features a body of black licorice, with soft and fuzzy vanilla musk and tomboy-ish tonka, adorned with tiny spots of precious labdanum and oud.
  12. David came to me with an idea for spicing up our Love Potion: Homme scent, a very clever idea with an interesting set of additions. We took our LP Homme recipe, which is a masculine version of Love Potion with a woody heart, and dressed it up for a night on the town with notes of cassia EO (cinnamon), anise, black pepper EO and peppery carnation. It definitely adds a ROAR! Nice work, David! (As with the original, this scent can be worn by both men and women.)
  13. Sydney is a regular customer at the shop, a stunning young lady of Viking descent - thus the ode to her heritage of the name - the Norse equivalent of Eve, and the rune - which stands for "music". She is insistent that she does not care for girly scents and wanted something that is on the masculine side of unisex. We put together a list of notes and I went off to create it for her. When it was finished, I got nervous that it might have turned out too girly for her, so I made a second pass at it, cutting down the notes to the core. I presented both versions to choose from. She told me that she had been nervous that she wouldn't like it when it was done, but now was faced with the fact that she was madly in love with both of them. She ended up very happily buying a bottle of each. We used the same label for both, just with a V1 or V2 label on the cap. Version 1: Egyptian musk, white musk, amber musk, ylang ylang EO, neroli EO, non-foody vanilla, sweet sandalwood & Aja. Version 2: Egyptian Musk, white musk, neroli.
  14. Denise asked for something that would feel like a warm hug, with Tea and Tonka as the centerpiece. Featuring cedarwood, black tea, tonka and white sugar - it came together beautifully. A tiny touch masculine because Tonka is akin to a boyish vanilla, esp combined with the cedarwood. In the end, what I feel from it is like a comforting hug from a masculine loved one. A very nice idea.
  15. Alluring, warm and powerful is how I'd describe Black Cat's latest creation, featuring ingredients of sweet sandalwood and rich cocoa butter, drops of exotic saffron, and a splash of grapefruit. I stayed pretty faithful to her directions, I just made one tiny change. I tempered the grapefruit with black currant. I did this because grapefruit can completely take over a blend, so I split that with black currant which still has that gorgeous tang of excitement, but it also has some richness and maturity. I think the two round each other out quite nicely.
  16. Oh yeah, the bugs go after me mercilessly when I wear certain LPs! But, as a favorite natural health guru once said of organic food; "if the bugs don't want it, then neither do I." Lol, not sure if that exactly fits...but I just take it that we're extra delicious with our LPs on.
  17. Girl! I've been contemplating the effects of Aja & I've realized that I get really strong self-effects from this one. Was wearing this out to a Superbowl party & noticed that a male friend, that I hadn't noticed in that way before, was very attractive to me that day. He had asked me out before, so in my Aja cloud, I actually hit on him. Went on a date w/ him sans Aja & the thrill was gone! Yep, just no warm fuzzies without the Aja. Plus the date got really freaking weird because there was some (non-threatening) drama. Anyway, remember to use Aja responsibly. Don't agree to any dates in an Aja induced cloud of warm fuzzies!
