And to think my friends ask me, "How can you spend so much time on a forum about perfume? What's so entertaining about perfume?"

This is going to be such a fascinating experiment! I can't wait to see the first reports. :emot19:

LPMP reviews: now with free recipes inside! Every time you think this place can't possibly get any better, it does
Hmm. I wasn't planning on getting this one - I already have too many rose-based blends - but given that I love rosewater anything... and spicy scents... I might just have to cave and get at least a sample.
Ellie, thanks so much for the recipe. I am definitely trying it!

I really like this! I've always been partial to honey scents, but I have to say this is the truest honey note I've ever smelled - other perfumers don't even come close. And yes, it does smell like sex. It's a good thing, I assure you.
After the initial blast of honey subsides, the berry becomes more prominent. I agree with Luna, there is nothing subtle about this one, but when I'm in the mood for a bold, red, thick to the point of being syrupy kind of scent, this fits the bill quite nicely.

At first blush, this reminds me of a soft, very sweet mead or even better, one of these intensely sweet fruit wines. The sweetness burns off after a few minutes though, leaving behind a really pretty amber and apple combination.
After complete drydown, Brigid's Amber loses much of its fruitiness on my skin. It settles into a buttery, slightly spicy, and very mild amber. Really, if you're not too sure about resins, there's nothing to fear with this one - the amber is quite soft, and much lighter than I expected.

Thank you for the review! This is the new release I was most interested in... almond cookies - that sounds good!

I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do! And yes, the label is great - I love it too!

Wow - I love this!
Musk + berries is pretty much always a wining combination on my skin, and I have sampled many similar scents over the years, but I have to say this is a new favourite.
At first, I didn't recognize the blackberry as such. It smelled more like raspberry to me, probably because the sugar and vanilla were masking its tartness. But once the sweeter notes mellowed down... mouthwatering blackberry!
I love that this blend is so straightforward. Although I dearly love blackberry, I am often disappointed in other perfumers' take on it - too many notes, too complicated, too eager to take a simple blackberry & musk base and turn it into a "concept".
But guess what, sometimes (most of the time, actually), I don't want "seductive-yet-cruel blackberry sitting in a silvery moonbeam, smiling an enigmatic Etruscan smile, while the forces of Good and Evil battle it out in the background". I just want a good gourmand blackberry scent - and That Kind of Girl is exactly that. Great wearlength too - well over 12 hours on me.

A soft, warm, vanilla- and patchouli-tinged cotton candy scent.
Lighter than expected on my skin, but that may well be because I was bracing myself for a loud and bold fragrance after seeing it compared to Pink Sugar.
Interesting how LP Pink seems to remind people of various scents... on me it smells surprisingly similar to a daytime, brighter version of Naughty on the Nile. I did a side by side comparison, and yep, that's it - Naughty on the Nile without the incense. A definite keeper.

I'm not usually a fan of green florals (they tend to go soapy on me), but this is very pretty.
The daffodil is the strongest note on my skin; as it dries down, Betrothal becomes less stem-green and eventually settles into a well-balanced floral.
This is bright, fresh, and feminine - however, it is not a shy and retreating fragrance. It has a soft feel to it, but the throw is pretty impressive for this type of scent.
-
This is really lovely. The patchouli is soft and sweet, the amber warm and powdery (in a good way).
It doesn't have a lot of throw on me - definitely more of a personal scent - but I am loving the soft cloud of golden warmth I get every time I catch a whiff of it.

We're soon going to need a Ninja's subforum - they're taking the boards over!

Scented CB smells OK on me. It doesn't go piercing or soapy like many other "clean" scents, and it's fairly understated, so I don't mind it.
The person I want to test this on is away for several weeks, so no up close and personal effects to report on at the moment. But it does seem to make me softer, more relaxed, and - yes, cuddlier than usual. I guess my cat must enjoy it - she gets petted a lot when I wear this one

I say Tuesday at 2:30 pm PST, because I have a number of back-to-back meetings and I'll be unable to stalk (Murphy's law, right? )

LP Black is very, very sweet on me - other reviewers have nailed it, there is something that smells exactly like maple syrup. Unfortunately, I don't particularly like maple syrup, even on my pancakes. I am a bad Canadian.
*hangs head in shame*
I've worn LP Black 4 times so far, and all stubbornness persistence aside, it may be time to accept that it's not going to work for me. Drat. I can see how this must be beautiful on the right person, but it's not playing nice with my skin chemistry, sadly.
Oh well, at least I have Naughty on the Nile to turn to for slinky sexy mysterious darkness!
-
On my skin, Naughty on the Nile goes on intensely sweet, but mellows in a matter of minutes into a beautiful resin blend - mostly amber, I think? - further softened by the benzoin. The overall effect, like everyone said, is incensy, smoky, and exotic. Interestingly for such a rich, sensuous scent, it stays pretty close to the skin.
NotN definitely belongs in the same "sweet incense" family as Isis, and it is truly lovely in its own right. Very happy to have found a substitute for my favourite Egyptian scent - thank you so much Luna and Mara for steering me in the right direction by recommending this one!

I see some more Cougar in my future (because I am psychic that way ), and samples of Naked Twilight, Tea-Less Strumpet, LP Sunfire, LP Red, the list goes on...
Tyvey's Purple Cupcake sounds mighty tempting too - but with all the perfume I already own, do I need a full bottle? Probably not. It sounds really good, though... decisions, decisions!
-
This one is green and outdoorsy on me at first, but in a soft and fresh way - there's none of the soapiness and sharpness that usually ruin green scents for me.
After a few minutes, the floral notes and the musk show up, and turn the blend quite powdery, as others have mentioned. I for one really enjoy powdery scents, so no complaints here! I can smell the iris and, upon complete drydown, the citrus - the other notes are so well blended that I would have a hard time picking them out.
For all its softness, Babe in the Woods is rather rich and layered. It is young and uplifting - "clean" scent aficionados should really enjoy this!
-
I know it's supposed to be better when you wait...
... but I wish my package would arrive already! Oh Canada Post, why must you torture me so?
Everyone's orders sound scrumptious. I'm already taking notes for my next one!
Well, back to enjoying vicariously through the reviews, I guess... or maybe I'll take my iguana for a walk to pass the time.
-
How smoky would you say Allumette is? Smoky notes generally go wonky on me, and some can even make me queasy.
However, I haven't tried LPMP's smoke note, and I love the way matches smell when they've just been blown out... I'm tempted!

Now I do NOT want to be a killjoy here, but please, PLEASE those of you using formulae containing Meo-Est or the single molecule, be very aware that it is not something you should use lightly..
Yikes, that's pretty scary - thanks for the info, Ail.
I have actually been wondering about pheromones and hormonal health, and it is reassuring to see that you are taking these issues so seriously.

Yup, this is definitely good stuff The scent is very pleasant, and rather mild, so I can easily wear something else with it if I want to.
Effect-wise, everything seems to go my way when I wear this. It's more seductive than sexual - I don't get over-the-top male attention, but it certainly gives me an extra boost of charisma, and it also seems to make me more approachable.
As far as self-effects are concerned, it's very congruent with my personality - so no dramatic changes to report, it's more of an enhancement effect, a little extra confidence, an added bounce in my step.
I could wear this every day (and I almost do), as I find it as useful for work meetings and negotiations as it is in social situations. This will definitely be my first scented phero bottle, and I am even contemplating boosting it further, a la Shelly's Mega Cougar...
