2 of Olivia's Comfort & Joy - this came out wonderful. It's a warm and comforting gingery bakery scent with a hint of animalic musk to suggest the aura of Olivia's fur.

 

Ohhhh, I am SO excited to smell this! I think the package is getting here today. Fingers crossed! I showed my mom the picture of the label and she got the biggest teary-eyed smile--and she was thrilled when I told her there is a bottle for her. Thank you, Mara, for providing such a unique and lovely form of remembrance!

And Fleur-- I did not expect anyone else would be up for ginger cookies with the tiniest hint of fur -- will be eager to hear what you think too!

Could I reserve a bottle of Inna's Gadda da Vita? I expect to have my order put together within the week--will email for an invoice! Many thanks!

Is there any extra PEs left this month? I'd love to read their descriptions too.

This is a challenging month! I'm really trying to narrow down the list of phero samples, particularly since I plan on getting the monthly perfume sampler and so (technically) get to try some out that way. But, I have been dying to try LFM and LFN since reading the descriptions, so those are for sure. After that.... Heart and Soul sounds amazing. I've loved the Balm Bomb in the Patience Potion. Focus Potion sounds like it could come in handy. How is a girl to choose?

Since I am currently extremely single, I technically have no use for Sexpionage, Bang, etc., but damn, the descriptions always make me want to stockpile JUST IN CASE.

I only ordered November sample set and a bottle of Cuchi Head. I hope that sample pack gets here before November 25th so I can order FBs of what I like in time.

I'm doing similar math! Because I was silly and ordered the October sampler at the same time as my PE, I'm still waiting to order full bottles from October (OK, I might have jumped the gun and gone ahead with FB for Flying Potion and Eye of the Moggie!). I am trying to hold firm to a sort-of policy of sampling things first--so trying to get package in hand, order November sampler plus possibly a couple of October selections, and maybe get one last order in under the wire with November bottles? But Absinthe of Malice looks like it has my name written ALL OVER IT. Also thinking that Garland and Lace looks like a home run for me. So maybe I'll just adjust the policy and say, No full bottles EXCEPT when they look too wonderful to resist.

ETA: Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say, maybe I'll acknowledge that I've already adjusted the policy!

This looks so beautiful, and I can't believe you used that photo--it's my favorite, what a perfect way to have it on hand now!

Welcome! Lots of great advice here from many more experienced than I.

Only thing I might add as to how much to apply--I've learned to start with a little and then add on. The first time I broke out my sample of Sneaky Clean I almost drowned myself, and had to scrub myself before I could leave the house to get it calmed down enough! Some of the scents I need to slather, but with some a very little goes a long way. So I always start small and work up now.

Oh, my goodness, I opened up the laptop this morning and what an abundance of riches! Looked at this thread and had no idea PEs were attached, and there is my little Olivia smiling up at me! I am so thrilled I will have this well in hand to give as Christmas gifts to a couple of her other best beloved people...

And as for being closed in December, that means I get to spend TWICE AS MUCH in November, right? Right? Which I'll certainly need to--can't wait for notes/descriptions on all of these! They look so enticing!

Finally let my vial settle down enough to get over its travel shock, and give this a fair try. As always, I am ASTONISHED at how accurately Mara captures certain notes. On me, the apple is very distinct in this, easily picked out from the sweet and creamy elements. The fruit itself is on the tart side. I think, in fact, I get more of an apple concoction, with apples as the starring element, accessorized by the rest, rather than a more blended, cake-y feel (which is more what I was looking for). While I don't think I would do a full bottle of this, I am definitely enjoying the sample and will sit with it for the day (unlike some things which I've had to wash off). And keep using until it's gone. And then, who knows, it might morph into a necessity!

Invi, I'm sure you'll love it! Vanilla and sugar in this are just perfect!

 

I think my skin eats the smoke completely. I'm not sure if my nose is fully recovered yet, but it is better than last week. The black tea note in master version is to die for, so deep and gorgeous, but I barely detect any smoke. And then vanilla and sugar start to come out, just as Mara described. This is definitely a shifter, it slowly changes to almost a complete opposite of the initial scent. And every phase during that change is just beautiful. i envisioned my PE slightly sharper with the smoke note, but I do love the way it turned out on me.

 

Vanilla note in this is one of those that last on my skin to the next day. I've noticed that with vanilla in Lady Frost and couple other scents that I can't remember right now. After other notes are gone, that vanilla just stays on my skin forever.

 

 

I'll definitely snag couple more bottles with my November order. I do want to have them all, but my bank account disagrees. That means that there will be some left for you BlackCat and DD!

Oh yay for leaving a couple of bottles for us to snatch up! Plus, your updated review has me drooling. I don't know the etiquette for reserving PEs--I sort of get the sense you need to be ready to ask for an invoice pretty soon rather than having things held for weeks? I still don't have my October sampler yet (note to self: never again pair monthly sampler order with PE order!) and I need that in hand before I can organize the next buying spree. But this will definitely be on it if still available!

This is just like sitting in a graveyard eating a delicious pie. I get the cherry, pumpkin and fig, pie spices that stay on the light side and DIRT! I normally can't do earth smells at all but this is oddly compelling. I would totally wear this every so often as a novelty. Too earthy for everyday wear, for me anyway. I must say I think this is a brilliant concept and I LOVE the name. Mara is so damn clever with her titles matching the perfumes.

Oh, Fleur, this sounds AMAZING! So glad that you had a homerun for your first PE! I'm with DD on this one--if supplies last, I really hope I can snag a bottle. I'm especially intrigued by your comments about the tea note, and liking it so strong. Can't wait for the full review when your nose is recovered!

Just checked the tracking, it will be here tomorrow! BUT apparently I did catch a flu during this weekend. I'm now having a runny nose and everything. I can still smell majority of the notes in my perfumes though, so I hope it won't get worse tomorrow. The timing of it is just awful.

Blackcat maybe there will be a rebrew of flying potion, I haven't even received my fb yet I have no idea what it even smells like but I'm already requesting a rebrew so it ain't over til it's over. I literally hear the clocking ticking on Moggie, I think a good percentage of people that got FP nabbed Moggie as well, hope u get yours and I'll be looking out for both your of your reviews.

Eye of the Moggie keeps jumping out at me on the main forum page, and I'm not sure if it's because I really, really want it, or because it has two "g's" in it, like Eggers, (making me think it's my forum name popping up). Probably a little of both. Either way, I'm glad I've got a bottle on the way. I'd have been so sad to miss it!

Like you, all things Cat call to me! I think it's probably just as well I missed Flying Potion... it's not one where the notes instantly called to me, but the buzz was just so great I was itching to try! But my wallet will be much happier with just the Moggie coming.

ETA: I keep meaning to say: LOVE the new avi!

Ugh... I feel so guilty and greedy! I just made a second order this month, (while I'm waiting for my first to arrive *winces with shame*). But I just cannot let Eye of the Moggie slip through my greedy little fingers! Or Flying Potion, for that matter. I'm so ashamed of myself! I'd very purposefully made a small order after the October releases came out, because I know I'll be going whole hog next month, which I've saved for, specifically. So I've ordered full bottles of Flying Potion, ('cause I just plain want it), Lina's Pumpkin Cake Batter, (I blame that cute label), the last bottle of Lady V's Black Panther, (unless someone had reserved it before I did, and I just didn't see it), and Eye of the Moggie.

 

 

If it's any comfort, I am contemplating doing exactly the same thing with Flying Potion and Eye of the Moggie! I ordered the NR sampler a week ago, but with a PE, so it will be a couple more weeks before it comes, and reviews on both of these have me worried they will sell out....

ETA: And Flying Potion is indeed sold out! Eye of the Moggie, here I come...
