  1. Well now that I bought 2 FB's of this, I might as well admit publically that this scent ...turns me on. No Kidding. No phero blend needed. Instantaneous, strong arousal. And Im totally unable to describe the scent, because it just lobs me deep into my nervous system and bypasses all thought. Yes folks, that strong.

  2. This was a Private Edition for July 2015, requested by our own Forum Member Blackcat. From her own description, she wanted something earthy, animalistic, and natural. She asked for red musk, red patchouli, and ozone, and left the last ingredient up to "Commander Fox", which turns out to be "the dry earthy scent of fallen leaves on a forest floor".

First off, I had a kneejerk reaction to the name of this PE and ordered a FB without knowing the ingredients. I absolutely adore the Totem series and have several friends who identify with animals, myself included. The label is darling.

Wet, I get mostly a soft soapy impression. As it dries, the musk emerges. If my nose were better, I might be able to tell that it's red musk but I'm not that sensitive. Soon after, the patchouli slides into a partner position next to the musk, and I love me some patchouli so this was very welcome. The red patchouli note is interesting and I find it to be gorgeous with the red musk. What surprised me though is how soft the 'earthy, fallen leaves' part of the scent is. The 'soapy smell' gives way to a soft powdery earthy scent. Closing my eyes, I get a baby animal. Something of the wild, to be protected. My teenage son liked this immediately: "Oh, it's so FRESH".

This is a solid PE offering, on par with the Totem Animal releases. I could see myself wearing this either for work ( I have a high stress job as a supervisor and the throw of this is mild and work-friendly) or in the evening for comfort, meditation, or bedtime. I cannot compare this to any of the other woodsy scents, and I have tried a few by now. This is unique and soooooo lovely. If there was going to be a Totem Animals 2.0 release, I strongly suggest this as one of them. Thank you BlackCat !!!!!

  3. Thanks StacyK,

I'm starting to find hedione as fascinating as Aja ! Jasmine was worn by Cleopatra...it's not like it hasn't been around us and on our skins for a long time ! Yet we seem to know next to nothing about what it does for us/to us. I feel like we are only scratching the surface of how airborne signals affect us. So exciting !

  4. tyvey,

Your review is what mine would be like if I were just more verbal and poetic :)

This is the one I tried first in the store and was just overcome. I didn't care if it was masculine or feminine, it was just powerful and something I needed. I floated. I still haven't had the time to introspect on what exactly it does to me, but your own experience is an interesting insight. I do feel the hedione effect is subtle...but paired with the effects of the other ingredients, it's unlike anything I have ever had the pleasure to experience. Sorry if that's so vague....but I have yet to put my finger on exactly why I love it and need it.

  5. Ah Wendynne, I don't know if I'm up to the task....Im just not as poetic as some here, and I don't have all the official words to describe a scent like a wine taster. Seaside Sizzle arouses me. Garden in the Rain comforts me and speaks to me of constant beauty. It's sweet, but not heavily floral ( Mara's are the only floral scents I can stand to wear, like for so many of us). The woodsy aspects are soft. The sandalwood to me is a very minor aspect here. More clover and birch, happy and sweet.

Hope that helps ? Perhaps the more eloquent members can help you as well :)

  6. I took a few of the NR samples with me on a mini vacation to the ocean, and this is the one I kept reaching for. It's just so beautiful and calming, doesn't interfere with my enjoyment of the natural scents at the ocean or when we go out to eat. It's just sooooo feminine and perhaps even a bit child-like, optimistic. It's also a perfect reflection of the environment that LPMP comes from...here in the Pacific Northwest, we have honeysuckle, we have roses, and we have rain :)

I seriously love the July New Releases, many of them do great in the heat, and are even begging to be worn with a sweaty body. This to me is the cooler one, the one that calls to me of quiet, balanced days. I could see this pairing well with whatever pheros you wear during PMS or to help with sleep and times of stress.

  7. Congrats tyvey ! Here it is only 9 months later and you and your creation are even more famous !!

I'm loving the softness of this. The longer it is on my skin, the more it speaks to me of gentleness. I could see myself wearing this around very young children, for rocking them to sleep when they are upset. It's also soothing my own inner child.

  8. Lainey,

I feel very blessed. LPMP has changed my life, and having the store and the staff so close now is...well I imagine it's as emotional for me as it would be for many of you. I don't take it for granted. Also that I get to share it with my family is very special. Just today, my son asked for another FB of Raspberry Chiffon and I was able to get it for him as a reward for his report card. That's a memory he should have all his life...that he liked that scent, that he valued how he smells, and that it makes him feel a certain way.

My daughter loves coming with me, I got to treat her to her small bottles of Fairy Cake for her report card. And she's learning about body scrubs. Mara showed her tarot cards.....she's getting some really amazing influences into her life through this store and the people. And hubby is looking forward to testdriving H2OOO for me tomorrow. My cats are benefitting, they love cops on me....and then there are all the people who come into contact with us and benefit. It becomes a rather mind-boggling circle of interconnectness.

In summary, when I walk into the store I get choked up. I feel all the forum members standing with me, wanting the experience, and I soak it up for you all and try to report back. Which is what led me to embrace Mara when I saw her in the store still setting up - she didn't know who I was but it simply had to be done. From all of us.

  9. My first impression in store: The men's scents are amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! H2OOOO was the first one I smelled as I was curious as to the hedione and I just swooned. I am not exaggerating. I lay down on the little couch in the store and the LPMP team seemed to find that very amusing while I was sniffing my wrists. I tried the female version MOIST next but my nose wouldn't cooperate at that point anymore. Hubby agrees that H2OOO and Garden in the Rain are awesome and he would wear them for me. (He's going to have to battle me for them !!!)

I have the sampler next to me and will take my time over the enxt few days getting to know everything. :purr:

Update: smelling the 2014 and 2015 of Ambrosia side by side just in the vial, I'm picking up more vanilla in the 2014 batch and more marachno cherry + patchouli in the 2015 batch. Which is ok by me !!!

  10. Rose, how interesting ! My experience is quite opposite, to me it's very foodie, with enough 'aliveness' that I would guess it had cops in it. To me, cops add an aura of energy to an LP that makes it sparkle.I put this on and go, and don't need to wait for a drydown at all (and neither does hubby). Perhaps we have 2 different batches ? I bought mine sometime in 2014.

  11. Wet in vial, very masculine to me. Wet on my skin, I get a note of Celery or Fern (much like Bekkah noted at the beginning of the thread. So I figured, ok, it's a male or unisex scent. After drydown, now it's a lovely unisex sort of musk/amber smell. Really no grapefruit to speak of. I may try layering this with a sugared to give it a lighter note.

Update: layered with a smidge of Sugared French Vanilla, but the bleed through is still too musky for me. Don't think this one is for me :(

Update: removed the scent with glass cleaner wipes like I usually do, and now all I smell is ill-disguised cat pee. Since we own three cats, this is a scent I'm probably triggering against as a sign I need to clean something, rather than sexy times. Interesting experiment though !

  12. Oh, that reminds me, my husband was complaining of itchiness after being in a hottub - I used this on him with immediate cessation of the symptoms. And my hands are visibly better - I showed Mara my hands but she then countered with her own age and OK I can't compete, the woman looks awesome. This is too moisturizing for my teenage daughter but that's ok, more for me. And Im currently addicted to the scent - I talked about that in another thread. This is THE discovery of the year for me. I use this every day, sometimes more, oh who am I kidding ?? I have this by my bed, sometimes cracked open so I can smell it in my room. it's THAT delicious :purr:

  13. My experience today was similar to BelleDuJour's. Lovely in the sample vial, but gone on my skin within the hour. So this intrepid forum member decided to experiment and sacrificed the entire sample into a spray bottle, added EverClear 50/50 and started to spritz myself...and spritz....until suddenly I had used up the entire concoction in one application. I check with hubby and the kids and they could barely smell it either " sorta like chocolate". It was a warm summer evening here and finally with the added heat it started to bloom, a pretty mildly floral musk that stayed very close to my skin. Actually ended up being quite lovely despite my sweat, it mingled with my own body scent. I would consider this one of the mildest scents I have worn from LPMP
