  1. I added this to a body/fabric spray to scent my jean jacket with in these darker colder months (for some reason not all my fabric jackets smell good coming out of the washer right now). Liked it so much I sprayed it on hubby and OHHHH Lordie it's so different and dark and mysterious on him. I don't really get that at all on me. Must be my body chemistry. On me it smells more like a gentle dark rain, whether on my skin or diffused in the body spray.

  2. It's a tad sweet for me, but then I tend to gravitate towards the unisexy scents. BUT I am wearing this daily to uplift my coworkers during the election stress and the effects for us all are immediate and oddly no one comments on my scent. Perhaps the throw is not very far ? I usually stick to oil because we have an unspoken rule about not wearing perfume in our small office. Maybe their noses aren't picking it up as a perfume, or maybe we all just need it that badly right now. Not sure. But it's been a lifesaver.

  3. SirenSong, for me it's just the opposite. I love HOWL more than NOX right now because it goes strong for HOURS on me. Now if I had to tone things down, like at work, I would reach for the NOX.

Howl is drop-dead sexy to me, with that blissful vibe that I need to relax with. I think it's good for a movie night with my hubby after I've been GoGoGooooo all week. This scent is more erotic to me than I had anticipated. The chocolate and cocoa keep the blackberry in check from going into 'sweet wine' territory and the amber rounds it out like the golden honey in mead does.

If I had to describe it, it would say it's like a sip of blackberry mead with a square of dark chocolate as a chaser. DELICIOUS. Perfect for these dark days.

  4. I've just had a super fun hour going through the LPMP archive - if you haven't been there yet, I highly recommend it !

I've made associations with several of these ingredients in LPMP's offerings. It reminds me of the gamut from Sogni Incantati to Naughty Nurse to Night at the Round Table, several of the lavender offerings, and several of the Bag Balm-type scents. I slathered this onto my right wrist last night and just drifted off to sleep. I didn't get any invigorating or arousing selfies. It's a VERY interesting combination and kept me focused on my sensory input instead of drifting off to worrisome thoughts. I may end up combining with Bag Balm and adding this to my stash of Relax/Sleep potions. I love the more unusual combinations Mara comes up with, and this is lovely and unique !!

  5. Mara's recommendations are a great place to start. However, I would agree with that Calii where she shared in December 2013 that she wears it everywhere, even on clothes and sheets. I remember spritzing my sheets with it once, it was heavenly. These days I'm more conservative due to my new office job where I have to be careful about scent.

  6. Billi, if you go wayyyy back in this thread I have battled with a vinegar smell from this. It definitely seems to be pH sensitive. I'm guessing your clothes are being laundered in a soap which leaves them at a different pH value than your skin. I get best results applying to my torso/belly button area and letting it waft around me from there. Too close to my neck and I get the vinegar/pee smell again. I've even just applied to my legs. It's a fantastically complex substance. I've had the impression I was standing RIGHT in front of a beehive with it once. Oh, and sometimes I spray it to my back. I've switched to the spray and have less trouble than with the oil. Your mileage WILL vary !!

  7. I love watching the newcomers discover Aja, reminds me of the excitement I felt when Mara first introduced it. Billi, due to your post I was just reminded of Supernatural w/ Aja and I hopped over there to post my second review. Aja is just MAGIC to me. I seem to be getting a bit high off it energetically, probably even more so than just from the scent. It's almost as though it adds to the spin of my chakras or that it behaves chakra-like on its own. It's a wild trip everytime I wear it, so I am careful as to time and place of application.

  8. This is getting even more gorgeous and complex as the months go by. My spray bottle is much cherished. To me, this smells easily as though it had 8-10 ingredients in it. It morphs and flows THAT much. I'd have to say it's one of my Tope 5 Favorites from 2015.

  9. When I first smelled Naughty Nurse, I was in heaven by the scent and also found myself pleasantly affected by the labdanum and poppy. I bought 2 FB to cherish and use for sleep and dreams when all else failed. And I made more than one request for a rebrew, simply because I was so hoping for a return of those ingredients.

At the store, I tested all the samplers without reading the descriptions so I would have an open mind. This was an immediate buy - I knew there was something in there I needed, and something I had not tried before. The spikenard is giving me some past-live memories I have not fully explored. My life is very busy right now but I can't wait to try it on a nice quiet evening for meditation and sleep. My husband is also intrigued by the scent and says it smells "familiar' to him spiritually. Luna has done an excellent job trying to describe the scent. I would say warm amber with an earthy undertone. I am also a huge fan of coconut but cannot consciously pick it apart from the rest of the scent at this time. It doesn't morph on me. It's on my nightstand and I love applying it throughout the day. It lasts about 5 hours on me. I will be getting another FB of this soon. Spikenard with the labdanum is simply brilliant for those of us looking for something unusual.
