My man is probably gonna be featured more, since he's taking more interest in what I'm doing. He chimed in after my application and compared this at first to, "all the dried sweet tea satchets (like pomegranate, hibiscus, etc) combined and a drop of peach juice on top"

I actually totally get what he meant by that! I can see reading the fruity tropical floral thing that way.

I love how summery this is. And I am a sucker for peach. This is very peachy with tropical flowers. A floral peach. It's very, very nice. I really like it. The peach is fresh and beachy. Imagine a tropical cocktail in an open air beach bar at the height of summer. As it dries down, it loses some of that initial brightness (that I think is being contributed to by the other fruits) and becomes more of a candied peach, but still tropical.

I always want tropical drink type scents for summer and this definitely delivers. (I struggle a bit with Lace, but if this were virgin, you bet I'd be stocking up.)

  2. This was a really unexpected scent. It's hard to describe. I wouldn't call it herbal, but it has some of those same vibes. It feels very outdoorsy in a fresh way. It reminds me very much of a fresh breeze. It's not at all beachy or aquatic, but has that 'air being blown in from nearby water' freshness to it. Think more pacific northwest than tropical. Or maybe the great lakes. There is a tiny bit of sweetness, just enough to keep it from being rough. And, of course, the smoothness of sandalwood. The grapefruit isn't too bright. It's not really the star of the show, here.

I would say it's unisex, but just slightly more masculine. Sort of on the level of lp#9: Green Chai one. And while there is warmth in this, and it's certainly summer weight, scent wise to me it's more of a spring or fall one. Not that it smells like perfumes/scents associated with those seasons, but it reminds me of the weather then. When it is warm, but chilly at the same time. Fresh and breezy without the heat of summer. (Or, at least, without the heat of Texas summers.) It's not heavy at all, but light and fresh. I keep coming back to the word "fresh" in my notes. I think that's my main take away.

Now, I do amp patch quite a bit, and this was very patch heavy on me. But it was an herbal, plant-like patch, not the smoky, incense-y type. It also wasn't as scratchy as patch usually gets on me. It was very loud patch, but I actually sort of enjoyed it, which is not a reaction I usually have to patch. To the point I'm even thinking about getting a bottle. Again, not a reaction I normally have to patch. That's part of what makes this scent so unexpected.

(As an aside, I think it's funny how Luna described it as slightly soapy, because one of my notes to myself was that it smells like a clean store. Like, if you've ever walked into a store and thought, "It smells clean in here!" That's what this reminds me of. I was afraid that wouldn't make sense to anyone else, though. 😁 )

  3. Hi and welcome! Those are some good phero choices to start with. They cover a lot of different situations. If you find you enjoy using pheros, you might also want to try Audacious. That's a good one for going out and having fun while feeling confident. The La Femme Mystere you got is also good for confidence. Hope your semester goes well and you have lots of fun along the way!

I’ve gone through one full bottle of this already!  What seems oddest to me is that the dry down smells very fresh and clean.  I mean, yes, its fruity,  but its also just showered type clean.  I don’t even know if this makes sense, and I’m sure how I’m explaining it doesn’t clarify.  But how it can be an OCCO without a trace of cops truly is magic.

I wish the cherry was a little more prominent (lucky you, @citrine) but  we just can’t control our skin chemistry. I love the overall fruity scent of it.

Of course, for me, the absence of patchouli is it’s star quality.  I’ve tried several iterations of OCCO Ambrosia with no success.  This one is the exception.

I also love that profits are going to help the Ukraine. That alone makes me want to buy ALL of them!  but I haven’t, so far at least

I'm going to be putting in a second, smaller sale order, and I wanted you to know this review sold me on going fb unsniffed (I have a sample coming in my first order, but still waiting on it.) I've tried a couple of earlier versions and the patch has always stomped around, crushing everything else underfoot (I amp patch like whoa.) So hearing that it works for someone else who's had trouble with patch has me excited! I've always been sad I can't enjoy it as much as everyone else, but, finally, I may have my chance!

I think of smoky scents accented with something sweet or aromatic… marshmallows, chocolate, coffee,  butterscotch..You know— bonfires, rustling leaves, crisp cold nights (We get too few of them, what’s with fall anyway?  Why can’t we have the kind of weather autumn is supposed to be like, instead of all hot, or hot and rainy, or cold  or cold and rainy!)

I guess novelty scents don’t appeal to me as much as those that are instant classics.

My weenie wishlist includes Mara’s take on Universal Voodoo’s Sticky Fingers, a rebrew of Weenie Roast, a smoky version of Wild Cherry, a slightly spicy foodie  pumpkin perfume, or a slightly spicy coffee perfume with maybe a smoke accord or DARK chocolate.

I love the idea of smoky fruit! I was watching a cooking show and the host was cooking peaches on a grill and made smoke infused whipped cream. It looked so interesting and yummy!

I haven’t posted here in FOREVER! But I’m happy to have found my way back for the sale and now I’m over here looking forward to Mara’s Fall scents!!

I’m hoping for something with Cougar or Topper! I’ve really been into apple scents for fall! Or maybe a throwback to Sparkle Fuchsia: a vanilla/pink sugared pumpkin scent.

In response to the nut fragrance notes… how about like a pumpkin peanut brittle type of scent, like the BBW candle?
You know me and my love for dessert-y type scents. I’m not the biggest fan of nut notes in perfume, but combine it with some rich vanilla, buttercream or cake scent and I’ll probably love it haha.

I am a total sucker for apple scents. I'm buying Iduna and Pomme de Fleur unsniffed because I saw the word apple, even if they aren't really straight up apple scents.

  6. You know,  I bet it would look great if you combined some of these ideas. Using old labels to paper the inside of the door of the shot glass case, so they would be facing out through the plexiglass. It could serve the double purpose of looking beautiful and helping to protect the bottles from light. Maybe pasting them onto paper cut to fit, then attaching that to the inside of the plexiglass. They could be arranged in a collage, designed to look like stained glass, or even pieced together,  quilt-like.

I just recently moved and found 2 bottles of this blend, holy cow, I love this blend so much and the reason I bought it years ago was this review you posted @greenappletart..

Yay! I'm so glad my review led you to something you love! The perfume really struck that sense memory chord for me of a vacation I had gone on. I think it was Maui, but it's been a while.

Haven't heard about this. Was it on facebook or something?

I was referring to the text under Ambrosial Dream. :)

    "Ambrosial Dream w/ EoW Copulins

100% of the profits for this release will be donated to Ukraine charities."

Eta: And now I've noticed it is on the label, too.

  9. Intrigued by Indiscretions. I don't know that one.

    Love the charity idea!

Really excited about the Mamelons de Cerise and Buttercream Peach. The BC Peach I have now is virgin, so that will give me a great option to mix it up!

Is Odalesse another Odalisque variant? Can't wait to find out the notes!

  10. I think of TH as customer service in a bottle. It's not like LFM, though, where men are eagerly wanting to do favors for me. It's more of a patiently helpful and wanting to work through things together way. Like we're a team trying to reach a solution. Men and women alike become more attentive and less harried. It lends a sense of calm and patience to the interaction.

There are plenty of self effects, too, in those situations. Last week, I spent over 2 hours dealing with a company's customer service. By that point, I was already irritated, so thought some TH might help. I had put on a different phero hours before that morning and didn't want to mix them, so rolled a little Altar of Venus w/ TH on a kleenex to have near me and occasionally sniff. It made me a lot less stressed and the experience far more bearable.

For me, though, it does come with a time limit. I have discovered that if I leave it on too long, I get really sad and emotional. There are at least a couple pheros that are like this. Levitation is another one. I'm not sure of the exact time limit, but, for example, 12 hours is too long. I know it's the phero, because if I scrub it off, within a few minutes, I'm right as rain.

  11. I really like this one, but I also find it interesting. It's not many scents where it seems fresher in the long, long dry down. Upon application, it is very banana cream and coconut cream pie. There's something giving it almost a floral vibe underneath, but without being floral. I have no idea where I'm getting that. Maybe a fresh coconut aspect? I don't know. Anyway, it's very thick and dessert like. It reminds me of a thick custard. There's a heft to it without being dark. It's positively scoopable! A pudding or coconut cream gelato. After the cops have had time to dry down, it gets a bit more airy. There is more wateriness to the coconut. After an hour, the fruit goes from thick to more tropical, taking on a fresher quality. Very tropical drink. And, I haven't tried it yet, but I think it would probably pair wonderfully with Occo: pineapple.

  12. Going on, this has a strong green scent, but that goes away almost immediately. On me, this is a mostly sandalwood scent, and is very, very quiet. I can smell the green from a foot or so away, but not up close. The sandalwood gets stronger after an hour. The sandalwood is as smooth as ever (I am literally incapable of not describing sandalwood as smooth), but it isn't as dry as it can sometimes be. Overall, it's a subtle, slightly sweetened sandalwood scent. The alliteration was not intentional, but I like how it all started with 's', just like Sam.  The scent for when you don't want the monsters to smell you coming.

I did a comparison for you and I think they are similar, but this version of Allumette has more an incense impression than previous versions, perhaps, even though there's no oud.  It has the feel/weight of that recipe with a bit of the warmth and depth of Elume.  To me, this version leans a tad masculine overall.

Thank you for the report! I have two bottles of Elume, so was trying to decide if I wanted to go full bottle on this, afraid it might sell out quickly. But then I had some unexpected expenses, so had to put off the order I was planning, anyway! But this is good to know, and when I order, I think I'll stick to a trial, first.

  14. This is nicely masculine, but still wearable for a woman. Smooth with a touch of spicy freshness. I think the spice is coming from the dragon's blood. A good type of spice and not overwhelming. Very cozy. It really does remind me of a pipe. A pipe in a wood paneled office. The sort with a large wooden desk, a tufted leather wing chair, lots of books, and one of those green banker's lamps. The long, long drydown is smoky and spicy and musky all together. I really like it. I don't wear it often, because I have to be in just the right mood for the phero, but I think they pair really well. When I wear it, I end up feeling very relaxed and sleepy, like being wrapped in a warm blanket and just the tiniest bit tipsy. Coziness and comfort in a bottle.
