  1. OK I thought I was losin' it when I saw Stacy mention Black Cat Mojo... :purr: I was like, "I don't remember seeing THAT one!?!" Mara you need to post the label photo with that little "notation" at the bottom of your post... I've wanted J'sBCM since I started LP, due in part to that "little ebony familiar with the talons" that is SO hard to look away from! That will ensure the other 5 bottles disappear quickly (only 5 because I DEFINITELY want one). Please reserve one for me (unless the word got out before I posted this).

    :kiss43:

  2.

Someone just ordered it, so I'm making it.

I have a handful of different smoke accords. I'm going to do what I always do, blend them all together to get the most rounded perfect single note, and then soften it with sugars. In this case, to keep it away from the Bonfire type scent, I will probably just go with white and powdered sugars so it doesn't come off as syrupy.

    Thanks Mara - sounds great!

  3. You've settled on awesome ones to start... LFM & LFN are both HUGELY popular here. I started out using the blends to test out the pheros, then added UNs as I found out what scents I loved so I could wear them in a variety of ways. Cougar is really popular - I always got hits off it, but none too blatantly inappropriate as far as age diff is concerned. My problem with Cougar was the grapefruit (I think) the scent just kinda burns my nose hairs if I apply a lot! I just ordered UNCougar last month so problem solved!

LFN has to be close to the top of my list of favs - it's just a confident, sexy, driven Phero without the aggression of Dom or Leather.

Let us know what you test first! :)

  4. HGS I agree with Mara - great review! Detailed, funny and no spin or mincing words. You are in the minority (men) here so I hope you post more not only about your impressions but about your experiences 'in the field' so to speak. And you were very PC with the early disclaimer and the "final warning" ear muff notation! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I can't get my husband to wear DOM & allow it the dry down time to really blend (imagine - a man with no patience - oh wait, that's fairly common!) Your review makes me want to give it another go! :)

  5. Really? I stumble upon this at 2am (CST) by accident? So THIS is undoubtedly one of those legendary Black Market LP scents that only serves to leave most of us drooling and dreaming of finding one in a trade thread (I.e. Snowball in Hell, Needle in Haystack). With winter around the corner how perfect would something like Warm & Toasty be...

  6. I was looking for something for a mood lift without pheros as I am feeling like shit. Was looking for The Sun but couldn't find, so put this on instead. Immediately took me to a happy place of course, but here to report that I impulsively smeared on some unCB for no reason and smeared together, and to my great surprise, sandy bottom covered it completely and immediately. I don't know about a few hours from now - sometimes covers burn off a bit and the est swingset pole emerges - but so far, total coverage. Wow! Would never have expected that.

thanks for this Tyvey! I always love the straight, impromptu reviews that are so real and not carbon copies of scent notes, etc. And we can always count on Uz 2B realz so that's why when I see the sugared pine needles I know I get that sudden shot of cold ski run air reality that I love in winter & in a review.
  7. The same smokes are in Allumette and Bonfire. It's the combo with the other ingredients in Allumette that you are reacting to...the vanilla and the musk with it I think. So you really want Sug Smoke without the marshmallow sugar?

I did order Bonfire unsniffed, and I love Allumette, so now I'm quite sure I'll be happy with it. So with regards to this discussion, are you talking about a different kind of smoke altogether or just different/less sugar in an new Sugared Smoke variant? Sorry if I'm missing the obvious, Mara. How you manage to keep them all straight is beyond me!

  8.

Not sure I would want to spray myself with something that smells like Tush Resin, even if it is sugared haha!

LOL good point QG. I've always just thought of the play on words (and to me a 'tush' is a cute butt!) I never thought of it literally though, until now. DUDE. You are such a GUY. :biker:

Come to think of it, this is exactly how any of my three would react as well. :mooning:(*rolls eyes, shakes head and shamefully puts head in hands) :embarrassed:

OK well I'll happily take KUSH Resin and the gorgeous photo (I keep waiting for Mara to chime in here and say it's a "stock" photo because it's SO perfect.)

  9. I am getting close lol ... seriously ... at least two more bottles during the sale haha. :D

Well then you'll just have to come up with another PDP (panty dropping potion) mister...You certainly earn your keep around here! Seriously though, I aspire one day to get my HB off into more experimental territory than "Polo Green"... Only a sniffie of "Thunder' (long gone) and LP Homme have given him (scent) pause so far. Of course he has yet to realize the extent of MY phero arsenal & that he is quite ill-equipped (LOL QG u KNOW I'm holding myself back from a judgmental man comment here - only bcuz I respect you!) Admittedly I DO like lots of Mara's Unisex/boysmell blends so my Sandy Bottom comment was for ME.
  10. EllieBk that is awesome... (although I hate the fact you lost your brother - I'm so sorry- but I'm glad Charlie is still with family!) Thank you for solving (one of) the Sugared Mysteries.

And OMG does he sound like a woman, critiquing his photo??? That is so funny. My husband does the same thing. I just look at him and tell him to get over himself. Tell him we're all drooling over the cute dog anyways so he need not worry (even though we all know this to be a falsehood)... that'll teach him to complain, lol.

  11. That was an amazing review LoveStruck! By complete coincidence this is the scent I chose to try today from the sampler I ordered, and when I came on here and saw your review I was nodding and smiling away! It is absolutely gorgeous.

You do not sound like a nutjob. You do sound smitten, but it's completely justified ;)

This one has been changing on me a lot through the day, so it's hard to even write a review based on the notes...one hour changes subtly to the next, then from air conditioned house out in the 90 degree heat and back in again, it changes not-so-subtly...so I think an overall general impression does the most justice to it! This is really a must-try. Anyone scared off by the mention of "that one note I don't like" is not really understanding the charms of LP Original. It surpasses the sum of its parts.

Thanks Memorare  I'm so glad you got the sampler - I wasn't smart enough to do that in the beginning, but I wish I had!

And you are right - it does morph throughout the day! I love how it lasts though, yet it's not overbearing at all even from the first few minutes. I love this statement of yours: Anyone scared off by the mention of "that one note I don't like" is not really understanding the charms of LP Original. It surpasses the sum of its parts. That is SO well said and true - it gave me chills to read it. I've been guilty of being "scared off" by a note and later finding out that I love a scent (usually from a generous sample freebie I get in a trade - and then at THAT point the scent is usually long gone!) The flipside holds true as well... I've gone for a FB of a scent with notes I absolutely LOVE, assuming I would of course automatically love it - only to find that for me it was only OK. That's why I am so attached to this wonderful forum... it's been a genuine learning process for me.

 I don't think I'm supposed to be commenting this much as it is a review thread (I don't care to scan through pages of conversations either to get to the meat of a review - and I appreciate that Halo and Luna try to keep things cleaned up and on topic around here) I've just gotten a bit carried away today reading the replies.

  12. Thanks Eggers and Hearts! As Dolly inferred, I must've been lusting after my bad self last night because I re-read my post and I say N O T H I N G about Apricot or Amber or Patch or Vanilla, etc. nor do I make any other 'scent' references, LOL. I guess reviews are supposed to include those things (and I usually do) but after wearing it all day, then taking my final "goodnight" whiff, I guess I was just trippin' on a buttload of EFX from the Magick Potion part :Emoticons0086:

If I have to (technically) whiff and think about it, I do smell all those wonderful notes in Love Potion Original at different times - and the irony is that I'm not usually crazy about a few of these notes on their own. BUT (for me anyways...) the EFX LPO has on my chemistry (and the resulting mindset) is so much more than just the olfactory experience. Like a fusion of the scent with who I am. GAWD I sound like a nut job don't I?! *feeling embarrassed here* :blushing:

Suffice to say, that's what I meant when I said LPO is a fragrance that "brings it all home" for me - meaning the whole love of the LPMP ride... Speaking of "home", that's why I posted LPO in the Wax Melts Wanted thread, lol. I just can't bring myself to even waste a DROP of my LPO in my oil diffuser, no matter how badly I may want my house to emanate LP Original!

Beach Goddess, you seem to be following in my newbie steps and have fallen for many of the same things I have recently... follow my advice and DON'T wait months to try LPO like I did! And if for SOME reason it doesn't work for you - I will be in the wings waiting to take it off your hands (not that I wouldn't have plenty of competition - you can tell by this thread that this is one helluva scent - there's a reason it is the flagship LP) If I had a sample I would gladly send it to you - but I had to dump my sample vial into my LPO bottle because (as I admitted) I'm nearly out already! :o

ETA: I'd like to know from you seasoned forum members if and what you've boosted LP Original with before (for instance, I know Beccah said she had it with OW and Blackcat mentioned pairing it with H&S) and how you liked it. I love phero/fragrance blends, but now that I'm more comfortable with their use I actually like having the UNs so that I can layer them with my favorite LPs. The next UN I've been considering is Lace... and I wondered how it might work with LP Original. Maybe I can get my girly romantic Jane Seymour ("Somewhere in Time") on. :3d-prom-queen:

Input always welcomed and appreciated from youz guyz :hearts0425:

  13. Wow LS :Emoticons04284: That was just.... beautiful! :bday1029:

Thank you, NuTrix... I'll never forget how it was your posts that helped me navigate the LP site during my first 72 hours on the forum! All that reading got me firmly entrenched as a new Love Potion groupie :)

LoveStruck, that was a beautiful review!! The line I picked out above tells me......maybe the Love Potion worked on YOU.......making you love YOURSELF.

Wow Dolly. This means a lot coming from you, thank you. I think you may be right, actually. That was the last thing I did last night! I was completely spent, but as I got ready for bed I noticed that last, faint whiff of the LPO I'd put on earlier. I grabbed my tablet and definitely wrote from my heart (my head was ready to hit the pillow). The mere fact that Love Potion Original could evoke inspiration amid exhaustion really IS magic.
  14. I have waited for some time to review LP Original. Initially because I got so entrenched in all the other wonderful fragrances that Mara has offered, but for me, THIS review had to be soulfully felt and reflected upon before writing it. LPO was and is, for me, something much larger and hard to describe.

I ordered a sample on a whim, after LOTS of other things. Kind of like I felt it was my due diligence, if you will. What transpired is something I humbly admit I never expected - to totally fall completely and unexpectedly in love with a fragrance that defies description for me. Love Potion Original is an aphrodisiac, no doubt, but for me it's so much more. It's centering, grounding, empowering.... willful abandon, release and acceptance - but all at once. It is beautiful, pure, esoteric and transparent. It magically reminds me that what I AM is enough. And for that alone I am ever so grateful for it and the LP Master, Mara.

The first time I wore it I felt like I was wrapped in a fragrance that transcended time & space. I felt like Jane Seymour in "Somewhere in Time" but I could just as easily be Bella Swan in any Twilight episode. I don't "get" it, as I love SO many LPs, but this fragrance brings it all "home" to me. IMO LPO should be required curriculum when joining LP.

In 6 short months I have accrued FAR more LPs than I ever thought I would, yet, in a matter of a few short weeks I have quite unintentionally blown through nearly a full bottle of LPO. And although NEW 2014 was stiff competition , I know that LPO will hold the record as the first LP I legitimately ran out of in record time, and perhaps just as important, I cannot EVER be without.

If I had to pick one scent (and one only) to live on a desert island with, it would be LPO. No hesitations.

  15. Where's Pure Sugar???!!! She needs to chime in here... Halo has never steered me wrong on anything phero, and I probably never would have purchased LFN on my own on a whim. Case in point - I purchased Lumina on a "whim" of mine - but it does nada for me. I know many of the forum members love it though so I'm not dissing here!!! I like Leather too. Dom makes me kinda mouthy and irritable - but Dolly and others will tell you how awesome it is. We all share in the wonderful, unpredictable, uniquely personal adventure that IS LP and it helps to hear how everyone's experiences (and experiments) go. THAT much I do know.

LFN has added cops, but I think it has 'none' too (?) so just adding Sheer Essence or OCCO to LFM probably wouldn't be quite the same. Again - I have to toss this to the forum vets who know this stuff SO well. It's fun though, right Beach Goddess?!?! AND we get the added bonus of SCENT NIRVANA on the ride! :witch555:

  16. WOW! You have sold me on the LFN!! I do have LFM..does it work as well? I need anything I can get to help me get in the cleaning mode..lol ;)

I love LFM too but there's something about LFN that makes me feel a little more 'in charge' of my bad self... I'm sure Halo can explain better the technical reasons why it just feels a little more edgy. I have a hard time committing all the ingredients to memory - LFN may just have added cops? I can't imagine that one little difference would make the EFX that unique - but we all react differently and for me anyway, LFN is a frontrunner.
