  1. I've read posts on the different pheros and of course girl/girl. There isn't much info or testing by women on women. Used love is love once since getting the sample. Applied 4 swipes. 1 split between side of neck, 1 split between back of forearms, 2 on chest. Went to a club with friends and didn't observe hits or anything out of the ordinary. Is that application too much?

As BlueBear and Halo said, sweet spots will vary so trial and error is part of the process, but if you are judging a swipe as being a swipe of the dinky little wand in the trial vial, bear in mind that this is maybe half the amount you would be getting from a swipe from a full-sized roll-on bottle. I would double the amount on the backs of your arms at the very least on your next test run (if you are using the wand).

  2. I don't expect anyone to rush to my defense, there's the 1000+post clique, and then there's me, I get it. But before bedtime, I invite everyone to go back and reread all the replies starting with eggers on page 1 (I just did). There was no negativity, just a calm, rational discussion. Then, around mid way down page two, the unprovoked attacks started.

I guess maybe somebody got offended when I said "stuck with EoW" (which I quickly clarified, saying I meant it's a problem of options, not quality). If anyone was upset by that then I apologize. I shouldn't have used the word "stuck", I'm sorry.

But nowhere do I see a "circular argument". Christ, as some of you keep pointing out, I've barely made any posts at all (and the recent ones are just me being forced to defend myself).

Alas, it wouldn't be fair to hold any of this against LP (I still plan on placing an order), but you women should really consider treating new members with more respect.

There's no clique here. I've been part of this forum for a little over one year, and I've never been made to feel anything less than welcome, and I've never seen anyone who behaves with any kind of "forum etiquette" being treated inhospitably.

What's forum etiquette? It's common sense. When you're new on a message forum (any message forum, not just here), you act like you are visiting with a group of strangers who are already familiar with each other...because that's exactly what the situation is. You say hi and introduce yourself. You participate in other people's conversations (post in other people's recent threads). This is implied in the forum rules which you will find posted in the Welcome forum (something about considering yourself a "guest in our living room.")

When you start a thread of your own, regardless of the subject matter, it is just like starting a new conversation, so when others reply, actually take the time to read and think about what they say. If you then choose to continue the discussion, make sure to address or at least acknowledge the points being made in those replies, even if you don't agree with them. Ignoring the perfectly valid points other people are making in order to continue pressing your own POV not only comes across as rude, but it makes you look like someone who isn't really interested in a back-and-forth discussion (which then begs the question, why start the thread in the first place? It makes it look like the thread-starter has some kind of agenda, and when the subject matter happens to be vag scent, that would raise red flags on ANY forum with an active population of female members!)

This has nothing to do with "cliques" or you being new. Your behavior in this thread started off fine--as you saw yourself from the fact that your first replies were not by any means confrontational--and then things went downhill fast when you began arguing in circles (repeating yourself over and over, not addressing the points raised by the people replying to you about the free availability of actual vag scent, the same effect you were describing already being achievable by using EoW even without literally smelling like a vagina, etc.) You started sounding like you were doing the online equivalent of just "talking over" the replies you were getting, and paired with the subject matter, that's what started setting off red flags, IMO...not that you are a new member, and not even the specific topic of this thread all by itself. We are obviously not a squeamish bunch ; )

I am taking the time to explain this to you in good faith that this was just a misunderstanding or some social awkwardness at play. Perhaps you do not normally post on community-style message forums or you did not realize how you were coming across with this thread. Well, now you know.

  3. All I can say is, I would never spend a dime on something that smelled like my own unwashed crotch. I can have that for free on demand. If you want to smell like genuine kitty, just don't wash down there for a couple of days (and definitely don't shave, some hair will help hold onto the scent). But I really don't see it becoming some kind of multi-million dollar idea. Women have been dabbing on their own secretions as an aphrodiasic for ages...for free. There's no need to synthesize what can be had freely.

Now EoW is awesome because it can lend you that fertile, ovulating vibe, highly concentrated, and that can't be obtained on demand, due to the cyclical nature of our bodies, aging, hormonal contraceptives, etc. Once you've got that, you don't really need to smell like dirty underwear, but you still could..whenever you wanted...for free. Assuming you have a vag, of course.

Pssst to Lainey...don't forget you can also sell "well worn" ladies' shoes...with the right pics and keywords, you could rake in the munny. ; )

  4. I can't believe there aren't more reviews on this one! I've been tempted to try it for a long time but finally succumbed during the sale. This is a great foresty musk, not sharp, not too green, musky in the drydown without being dirty. It is definitely on the quiet, close-to-the-skin side, and while it does have a sweetness to it, it's not a scary or shrill kind of sweet. Definitely workplace appropriate, IMO. This would be amazing on a man, of course (as it is intended to be!) but I don't feel like it's too masculine for a woman to pull off. I'm finding it more unisex than I did the Sinner and the Saint (not that the scents themselves are similar, but just to give you an idea of what my gauge looks like).

  5. Ok, Soul Food 2015 is the perfect example of why I am an LP addict. This isn't perfume, it's art. This is simply one of the most gorgeous things I have ever smelled in my life. If I could only have 3 scents to choose from for the rest of my days, Soul Food would make the cut, along with LP Original. Very surprising to me, as before LPMP, I pretty much wore nothing that didn't have some form of musk in it.

I don't even know how to describe it, really, except with more adjectives. Don't be scared of the cinnamon, normally that amps on me like nobody's business, but it is behaving nicely here. I am just absolutely blown away.

Now please excuse me while I go huff my wrist some more :P

  6. I'm sure you already know this, but quitting smoking could greatly increase your enjoyment of your LPs (your sense of smell is affected by your smoking...as is your sense of taste, so if you do decide to give them up, prepare for a shock LOL!) I will certainly add my intention if you're up for it :)

So I went all out for the big sale! I finally ordered my UN LFM!!! I put it off and put it off because it's $$ (I really want it in a spray) and other "wants" kept pushing it to the back of the list. But I'm super happy to finally check it off my wishlist.

I also reordered my beloved LP O, can't live without that one! And I went directly for FBs on Soul Food, Velvet Kisses, and Pillow Stuffing. Got a couple more Spell potions, too. I wasn't terribly interested in these until recently, but Road Opener and Peaceful Home will be comin' my way. And lastly, trial vials of Body Paint and Moist.

Thanks to my post office's shenanigans, the Moist sample is a reorder, I couldn't help myself. I sat on my hands to stop myself from reordering OCCO Ambrosia just in case it turns up. I'm so nervous it will sell out before I know whether that box is really lost or not. Nobody buy anymore of that one til I know, mkay?? :D :D

    Amanda's Raspberry 'Roon

Mmmm...raspberry and a drop of rose over creamy coconut and sweet vanilla buttercream.

This is my very first PE and I have to say, it's absolutely perfect! Exactly what I was hoping it would be! I couldn't resist opening it right away so I will come back and update later if my impression changes significantly post-travel shock, but I am finding it absolutely gorgeous. There is a fantastic hit of fruity raspberry first thing that mellows out after a bit and the rest of the notes come shining through. Rose and coconut are definitely supporting players, I mostly get a sweet raspberry buttercream that makes me want to purr! The rose is just a hint and keeps it from being "OMG foody!!" (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not usually my preference.) And the tartness of the raspberry keeps it from veering into that shrill level of sweetness that can trigger my migraines, just as I hoped. It reminds me of the raspberry note in Determination Potion, which I love. It is a very mood lifting potion for me (and not just because of my post office travails trying to get it into my grubby paws, haha!) Something about it just makes me smile every time I get a whiff.

My evil master plan for Rasperry 'Roon is to wear it paired with a "half lollipop" of Beth's Blushing Milkmaid and I know it is going to be freaking perfect! Thank you so much Mara! :abfx:

  8. Hey, androstenol, usually we wait for the creator to start the thread and do the first "official" review. In this case, since the creator (me) isn't going to have any bottles to review for a bit, I give the go-ahead to anyone who wants to give me a preview!

ETA: That goes for you Summer Shine people too! Black Cat wants to hear ALL ABOUT IT!!!!! :purr:

Same here with Raspberry 'Roon! I'm out of town and won't be able to pick up my package until next week so if anybody gets their bottle sooner and feels like sharing their thoughts on it, feel free to start the thread for me :)

  9. I got a sniffie of this in a recent order and decided to try it out on date night. I've never tried BI in any form before, so I thought it would be fun.

And it was. Really, really fun. So much so that I've kind of been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to tastefully and discreetly say how much fun it was, or come up with some detail of my date that would illustrate the fun without coming across as vulgar. Umm...hmmm...well...I'll keep thinking. :Emoticons04263: I'm totally sold on BI, though, 100%. It does what it says on the tin, no question.

Scent-wise, Caressful Breeze is really pretty. I got a soft and not overly sweet berries & patchouli combo out of it from beginning to end. I couldn't pick out any fig in there, either it's too well blended or my nose just gots the dumbs (entirely possible!) This is like the sneaky clean for Blatant Invitation, you'd never guess there are sexy pheros lurking behind that sweet berry facade lol

  10. "Nevyn Scent"..so adorable! Oh, my heart. It doesn't seem so long ago that my sons were that age.

The label for "Nyree's Lovebirds"..just so pretty! Every single label is so thoughtful, Mara! You never cease to amaze.

Omgosh, I know! That little guy is too cute for words!

I'm swooning over the fox medicine label too. I hope you feel better Blackcat :Hug_emoticon: Your PEs are always awesome :)

  11. Raspberry roon- raspberry, coconut, rose, buttercream were the notes I requested. I told Mara if it's too

much like the other macaroon PE she's done, to feel free to tweak it as she liked, but the raspberry/rose/coconut combo is what I'm after :) The idea itself is from a recipe I found online.

  12. Well, I should probably preface this with the admission that I'm a total musk oil ho. If I sees it, then I needs it. I have a ton of musk oils, from dollar store cheap to higher end. This is easily one of the most enjoyable Egyptian musks I've tried yet. It has that clean skin-but-sweeter Egyptian musk vibe, and it doesn't pull the constant vanishing act that oil sellers everywhere will swear up and down is the "true" characteristic of "genuine" undiluted Egyptian musk oil. Which is, by the way, total bs that people literally buy. The truth is that EM is a "skin scent", it wears closely and it's soft. If you try to slather yourself in it, your nose will eventually tune it out like it would any other scent. But also like every other scent, it will come back over time, sort of a wafting effect. It's never going to knock anybody over, a characteristic that most folks who enjoy EM really appreciate. It doesn't smell like you're wearing perfume. It smells like you, only boosted in a compelling way. But if you apply an EM oil and it vanishes on you and never comes back, it's because you're either anosmic to the musk or your Uncut Top Quality Genuine Egyptian Musk is weak and possibly over-diluted. You might not care if you're only spending 5 bucks an ounce on it, just know that not being able to smell it doesn't mean it's The Real Deal. Sellers will try to tell you that, "oh you can't smell it because that's just how REAL EM is. You stop smelling it but other people will still smell it on you." Why the heck would anyone bother with a scent that only "other people" can smell?? Who are these "other people" and why am I wasting my money trying to please them?

Anyway, back to the sugared version. You get your money's worth from this one. It does linger on in the background, which is exactly what EM should do. You COULD layer it, but I'm not sure why you'd want it. It's lovely as-is and the perfect clean, "I don't know what would be appropriate in this situation" scent. You can't go wrong with EM. :)

  13. This is really pretty. If sugared black musk is like a leather bustier, then the red musk is something silky and slinky. It's a little sweeter and a lot "warmer." I got a much-coveted husband compliment on it within 10 minutes of putting it on (he rarely notices my perfume choice so I always make a note of it when it happens :P ) It's a soft scent so I don't know how well it would cover it, but I'd love to try it with Blatant Invitation.
