  1. I'm giving La Sylphide a tiny pre-bedtime run, going to wear it for teaching tomorrow. My only experience with LFM was a sample of Winter in the Tropics, and it was a perfect vibe for me for that night. I'm hoping the sandalwood heats up instead of the nutmeg. I'm hoping I didn't open it too soon, I received it this week in a trade, (Thanks Stacy!) Is there a set time that "travel shock" lasts? I don't really understand why that happens, but I've seen it mentioned a bunch, I can assume you all know more than me and it must be a real thing. It does smell a little different from the sample I have, I believe.

Edit: 2 hours later, it's the nice smooth sandalwood I was hoping for. And it's got the best review from my 11 year old son, "mom you smell so good, it's "cuddle inducing". And then right before bed, "it's snuggle inducing." My little lavender lovin' man clearly approves.

  2. I looove this scent, and it fits in with my current pumpkin marshmallow lifestyle. Thing is, there just aren't enough hours in the day, so I'm wearing this TO BED. I mean, I'm alone, so really just for sleeping. But I think it will be a good test to see what it smells like in the am. I'm thinking about adding in some EoW, and don't want to overshoot the mark. Could I add just 2 drops to a bottle? Or maybe 4? I know most people prob do 6-10, but I haven't been subtle about much lately, and I wouldn't have to worry I was overdoing it.

Just curious. Any thoughts? What is the smallest amount one might add in to a good cover like Wicked, or something more sheer?

Edit: I added cops as follows:

    1) I filled an 8ml purse atomizer with 1/3 Wicked oil, 2 small drops EoW, and filled the rest with perfumer's alcohol

    2) I added 6 small drops EoW to the rest of the Wicked oil bottle. I'm not a mathmetician, but I'd say that works out to be about 11 drops if it were a full bottle oil.

I say small drops because I used a glass ml measuring dropper, not a pipette, which I believe would've been harder to control. I'm very happy with how it turned out. I like the effect of the cops in the alcohol, even though wide dispersal isn't my goal, it seemed to dry down a bit quicker.

  3. I didn't, I've got him Mark's Girl Nip, Open Arms, and Bad Boy, and FB's ofTeddy Man 2 and Winner are coming his week, plus Year One and 1969 samples. Also Gargoyle Gargle coming from a trade. He's so picky, and there are so many to choose from: if he doesn't like something he gives sample back to me immediately, but he's kept River and Rain. I'll see what he puts on first when he gets home from his trip. I'd order it for him if he wants, I'd be happy to decant myself a wee bit.

  4. I'm considering taking 10ml of my BBM and mixing it with 20ml of perfumer's alcohol to make a small spray. I made one the other day with some Valoute Lavande and I'm very please with the result, and the bottle happens to fit in the same allotted slot in my giant wooden rollerball storage box!

Other than being careful to spray real close and below neck and maybe below boobs, and letting it dry before getting dressed, is there any reason my future time traveling self would suddenly run into the room yelling "No! Don't do it!" and knock the bottle out of my hand?

  5.

FOR SURE! I have just tried BBM for the first time ever and my consensus is...IT SHALL BE SERVED WITH EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (proper review coming soon.)

Yesterday I was giving Boo Berry another run, and it smells divine at the 2-3 hr mark. I decided that I needed BBM on top of it from the gate and then it would smell perfect, just morphing a bit throughout the day.

Now, I'm not an organized person and everything I own that I require on a daily basis has bluetooth trackers, but I know exactly where my BBM is supposed to be. And she wasn't there! And I actually said, outloud, "Beth? Where are you Beth?"

So, um, yeah. BBM shall be served with most everything. And I did find her!

Oh, I'm bumping this thread. Hasn't been touched in a while. I want to hear more Deer in the Headlights reactions!

  6. I'm glad I have all these review to read. I've been doing great with putting on some Howl, Balm Bomb and Beautiful Dreamer on alternate nights, thought I'd give this little sniffle of NOX a try. Medicinal berries - yup. With that edge of headache feeling. But I'm going to wait it out and see how it smells in the am. I also like knowing that resins last longer in perfumes than the berries will, since I love amber and the like so very much. Hope it knocks me out!

  7. I do like B2 better and the reason is simple. It has a higher ratio of androstadienone. That is my favorite single molecule and i wear it own it's own even. Also because of that higher ratio I use a lot less B2 than i do Teddy BB

Thanks Halo! Been trying to figure out what effects solo androstadienone would create. Someone gave me one, was it you or Bella? I thought I'd remember everything but of course i don't.

  8.

The 3 B's (as I call them) B2.2, Teddy BB & Balm Bomb are intended (in the case of female use) to relax us. They have somewhat different effects. On me, B2.2 is the heavyweight, if you are feeling anxious or just REALLY need to clam down its helpful, Though I tend to use it more for at home use (that's best for me). B2,2 is also a same sex attractant for men to use, I believe, that was its original purpose. Teddy BB is for men to wear for women, and for women to wear as well. It promotes a relaxed easygoing vibe. Also, it's helpful for some with PMS. Balm Bomb is, I think made for women. it's great for relaxing and also eases the PMS. I'd say if you want to try a cool easy going vibe try Teddy. And if it doesn't effect the pests, you still have something good for you to relax with.

Stacy this is really useful info!

  9. I love this! I keep huffing my arm. Thanks Stacy!

It reminds me of something I used to wear when I was younger. And I don't mean younger like last week when I wore FP 2016, or two months ago when I sampled FP 2017, like back in 88 or 89 when I switched from YSL Opium to more natural any mysterious oils. Maybe the combo of the ylang ylang plus the grapefruit make it more floral and softly incense-y. It's like a younger more innocent ylang ylang than the ylang ylang's I use today? I got it for the heavy grapefruit reviews, but it's more subtle than I expected, maybe the marshmallow and licorice mellowed together over time to make this more of a powdery sweet Flying Potion? The scent I had on earlier was heavy in the nutmeg dept on me so the spice in this just seems perfect and more subtle. I can't really divide the notes so good in my mind because together they just create a scent memory. Like a "playing with runes or tarot cards in my room and not having a car or a telephone" feeling.

Super glad I got this! Levitation is perfect for the feeling of it on me.

  10. I am still a little gun shy regarding some "red" fruits, so the raspberry in this made me a bit nervous. Both apple and fig have sent me back into the shower, and sometimes I read notes I don't like as fruit, even if they're not. Like leather, for instance, it overwhelms me when it's still wet and my brain interprets it as cherry. Pineapple, coconut, apricot, and all the citrus fruits work for me.

I've been enjoying the benefits of Balm Bomb, but decided to spritz on a bit of Howl before putting my kids to bed. They loved it! They were all over me. "Momma, give me another kiss! Momma I want to hug you again!" And then they got extra excited, "Momma smells like fruit! Momma smells like chocolate! Momma smells like fruit AND chocolate!" They really really loved it. My son prefers lavender based scents, anything that isn't lavender based is "just okay" to him, and she generally smells like a ginger cupcake with vanilla cream cheese icing, they are not new to the world of scent. And they were both crazy abut me in Howl. They made me stay in their room while they were drifting off to sleep, and here's the crazy part - THEY WENT TO SLEEP! With no fussing!

I haven't yet figured out my best sleepy time scent, but Howl is definitely my putting-the-kids-to-bed top choice!

  11. It reminds me very much of a few of the big heavies from the 80's and 90's. Estee Lauder Spellbound, Hermes 24 Faubourg and even Dior Poison come to mind. This is dialed down lower than those, but the composition is very similar to me.

Cheesy, this sealed the deal for me. Poison was my jam back in '86!

Has anyone put this on their man or smelled it on one? Any of you guys worn this?

  12. I am ordering a trial of this for my man. He likes Liquid Shadow, but only after the chocolate dies down. I'm hoping that it's similar to Liquid Shadow without the coffee and cocoa. (Luna am I aiming in the right direction here?) There are too many scrumptious LP's to settle for one that isn't quite right. I'm noticing that he took his Open Arms to visit with his family for a week but left both bottles of Girl Nip behind. He's back to Decent Man status. Not Very Good Man yet though, he did not hang that shelf I asked him to hang before he left!

Mods: I don't know why I'm quoting myself. Feel free to fix if you want.

Is she a head? I generally see that context of usage in lot culture slang, because it's the epitome of the universal substance.

    "lot culture."

You must be a head, who else would say "lot culture?"

The reason I came onto this thread is because I believe this one is sold out? My man just text me from work, "Winner is a winner."

Never mind, found it! Sometimes I have more luck googling than searching here or in store.

This turned out to be a great scent & phero to wear for the construction party last night. I think it's lovely that Gotcha works as well on women as men, especially since the coordinator of the construction party was the owner's wife. She's as neurotic as I am, and we were a pair of Nervous Nellies last night, (although I tried hard not to let my own neuroses shine through, so she'd be more comfortable). By about the middle of the meal, she and I had both calmed down considerably, and she seemed really wowed that my co-worker and I were able to do such a great job, just the two of us. And yes, the rest of the party was actually quite chivalrous and extremely polite. It was kind of a fun party, and I think it would have been nice if they'd not been on a schedule.

We also had a band at the restaurant last night, and judging by the number of drunken hugs and the great big tips from drunken people I'd never met before last night, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Gotcha really earned her keep!

Ha! Side note: I'd applied right before BF came home yesterday afternoon, and just as I was getting dressed. He loves this scent, and reacts well to Gotcha, which resulted in a lot of butt pinching and complaining that I had to leave. Good stuff.

All good news! Maybe I'll take Gotcha for a spin later tonight.

  16. I'm testing your theory tonight. I'll be working a table of 30 construction workers. We'll see how many very bad men there are in the group. Awesome review. ;)

I am sure that they will love you and want to take care of you. Sounds like a potential hotbed of chivalry. Men who work hard physically almost always appreciate someone else working hard.

My man did make a point of taking out the trash and starting a load of laundry before going to work. And when I visited him at his work he had so much Girl Nip on I kind of forgot what a bad man he had proven himself to be earlier. And then he kicked the other guy working sound out of the desk area and plugged me into the sound board so all was forgotten.

I did buy a shelf today, though. Pretty sure he'll put it up.

  17. I’ve discovered I really like patchouli scents, so I made sure to try this before giving it to Mr Perfect. First on, it was deliciously deep and sexy. It was never “b.o.” patchouli. The vanilla really smoothed it out. It stayed with me for a few hours, then towards the end of the day, all I could smell was the Egyptian musk, lol. I love that too, so it really worked out for me!

But what did Mr. Perfect think?

  18. I was lucky enough to get a FB of this from NU. I almost want to ask why should would let this leave her house, but I'm guessing it's because she must be a VERY GOOD PERSON. I think of anything called Fuzzy Wizzy should have peach, so I'm glad I researched all notes. Lavender is always welcome in my home because when my son was still nursing, I would wear it, so now it instantly makes him happy. He's 11 and doesn't know why he loves it so much, but sometimes asks for me to put it on him and recently asked for his own bottle. But obviously I didn't choose this for him, just saying lavender is a winner on its own around here.

After putting it on today (travel shock be dammed,) I decided that any man who doesn't fall for this combo must be a very bad man. Not just a too-lazy-to-put-up-a-shelf kind of bad man, but a VERY BAD MAN. Like you'd better have AAA because the man who doesn't love this will not come to get you when you have a flat tire kind of bad. Maybe even the kind of guy who gets fired for embezzlement or has a whole 'nother family somewhere bad.

When I had my man smell me, he said "it's okay." That was confusing. So 1/2 hr later, I went back. "It's good, it's just not my favorite." Huh? I thought he was a good man. I told him that if he didn't like it, it meant he was a VERY BAD MAN. He tried to defend himself. "I've seen you smell better. What is that? Amber?" I just stared at him. "I guess I'm a bad man"

I need to rethink this relationship.
