oil and alcohol is a permanent mix - it shouldn't separate. I am somewhat stunned to hear you find the Est so offensive. Genetically, there's supposedly 3 different types of sniffer configurations - some people smell pheros as pleasant, some as offensive, and some not at all. Danna is one of those people who is hyper sensitive to their smell, and even she doesn't mind the smell of this Est. I sprayed it in my hair a few minutes ago and she thinks it smells just fine. Myself, I kinda like the smell. It smells like a light florally musk to me. I guess I can kinda see the connection - the scent of civet is along these lines, though much stronger. And some people find that offensive and pee-like, but let's face it, it's the scent of natural sex juices we're playing around with here.

I wore this out to dinner with an old friend tonight, with LP GREEN. She hugged me and kissed me repeatedly, told me how much she loved me, said she wished we could LIVE TOGETHER... (NOT gay, btw) Over the top affection!!!

I'm interested to hear what you guys think of this one. I was pouring this one last week for the orders, and I just got this overwhelming sense of peace and tranquility, and like a balloon of love feeling in my tummy. It was so cool! It took me a minute to figure out why I got that sudden feeling, then looked at what I pouring, LOL! I'm interested in hearing how people will react to it when worn. Dolly and Ail, hope you'll do some 'field testing' when you get yours!

Ok, I heard back from Dr. Stone regarding epi-androsterone. Epi-androsterone has a calming and placating effect on people. It's very interesting. I have noticed when researching pheros all over the web, that people make assumptions about what an unknown phero might do based upon a similar spelling to a familiar phero. But the tweaking of just one molecule, while resulting in a similar name, can make for a wildly different end result. Does anyone know if there's any reliable comprehensive pheromone library online? I've seen a few, but they are woefully incomplete. Ail and I were discussing putting one together ourselves.

I would call the MD version "pointy". It's soapy and bracing, very clean smelling. The sugared version is softer. Silky and soothing.

Interesting - I just looked it up too. Apparently, as a hormone, it stimulates mammary growth in rats. It is naturally present in urine from both sexes, and in both testicular and ovarian tissue, so, not exclusively male. Next time I speak with Dr. Stone I will ask him what the pheromonal properties are.

Danna and I have very deliberately stayed away from the Designing August thread so as not to interfere or be influenced. We plan and order ingredients up to 6 months in advance and decided not to halt any of our own plans if something turned up appearing on the surface to be similar. Ideas tend to overlap within a single genre - that's normal. Also, if one gave 5 different perfumers the same set of ingredients, they would each produce something entirely unique from the others. So..in the end.. trust us. Even if your entry seems similar, we'll make sure it's unique in the end.
