Cougarrific, I am soooo happy to hear you had such great results with this. Makes me wonder if I need to get a bottle of EOW to have on hand. May I suggest you contact halo for an email exchange? I really do need to raise some $$$ but I don't have the energy to do an auction like Dolly did. Maybe I could list mine with a "Best Offer Takes It" addendum on the Trade Forum, but I have never seen that there. At any rate... !!!
  3. Vlad, you are totally making me *want* this one! These are lovely effects and a great review. Very helpful. Thank you.
  4. Congrats Mel! I am now a Manticore Snack. LOL!
  5. Tis true MissDarlynCherie, Mara, you are so good to us. And you are right Luna, we got the love going on and
  6. Excellent insight Stacy! Something I will keep in mind if I ever notice something like this! Tyvey, I think you might very well have your answer. It was not you. They likely were reacting to their own reactions. I am sitting here trying to imagine myself falling into some sort of spell like state over someone and catching myself doing it. I would be embarrassed and more than a little weirded out! Stacy, I think you have solved this mystere! (Sorry, thought some levity might help)
  7. Stacy you are right! They look SO much alike! Lovestruck, the laminated film sheets are an AWESOME idea for those of us who want to preserve labels! Mara, why not consider conserving on costs right now and let us use Lovestruck' s idea? It just seems like sensible especially with the whole new store prospect looming now. I certainly wouldn't mind purchasing some of that laminate sheet and having it on hand to preserve whatever I want to use it on. Smart thinking Lovestruck! Another talented LP person!
  8. OMG tyvey! I'm so sorry this happened to you! I just don't understand. This is so opposite of what LFM does best. I can offer no explanation as to what happened here, but please don't feel bad about yourself, I can not imagine anything you could have done that would have warranted this kind of reaction. Let's see what input others may have on this, but please try not to blame yourself. Hugs!
  9. What an awesome story and testimony to your intuition and sense of aesthetics! Another talent of yours I was not aware of! When I lived in Boston in my 20s, there were always photography students asking people if they could photograph them. I allowed photographers to take pics of me more than once. It was flattering to be asked. Until one night while standing in line for a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture show with my ex, a photographer was asking people in line , most of which were in costume, and asked me if he could take my picture. I said, "But I am not in costume. These are my regular clothes." Then he said, "Really??? Well that's ok, you look a lot like Magenta anyway." I wrestled with whether that was a good thing or a bad thing for the longest time until I just figured, hey, if it made me interesting enough to warrant a photo request, at least I must have been interesting. But...back to the hunks (swooning) Mr. Sweet Surrender is is just gorgeous beyond belief! I have not seen "bedroom eyes" like that in a very long time! All kidding aside Mara, all of these men were perfectly chosen and I think you managed to find more than one to appeal to everyone. They should cover all concepts of what people's type is! I know the shiny paper is crazy money, but I guess if there were ever labels that helped justify the cost, these hunks would be the ones. And BTW...if you , ahem, ever need to spend hour after hour tirelessly pouring over pix like these again and need some help with that task, then I will selflessly volunteer.
  10. So that's what is going on in my mind StacyK.. that explains a lot! lol! OMG!!! Just thought of this , unless it's already out there somewhere, Cthulu shaped pasta!
  11. That is awesome of you Mara, but I realize that printing costs for the shiny extras must be absurd. You shouldn't have to put out the extra $$$ . I can't speak for everyone, but I would be just as happy with the usual label material. I was simply unclear as to whether or not you had switched permanently to the shiny labels.
  12. I don't mind sharing these yummy men! They are so delicious looking! Can't we all just break out the heroin ice cream/dessert spoons, cover them with our fave toppings and enjoy them together? That's ok Luna, these guys shine fine all on their own and they all look like they will have no trouble lasting. Besides, we have pheros on our side! A quadruple scoop of YUM!!!
  13. So sweet Halo!Looks like you have hypnotized your little fur baby to sleep I did not get one Mara, but no worries. You always include so much special intent in what you send, it's all good. LOL! There is the hobo bag, the satchel, the classic clutch bag, and now Luna brings you.... The Death Grip Clutch! An essential wardrobe accessory for women everywhere! Umm.. wait.. Purple AND Velvet? Maybe I *do* need this one with my upcoming order! LMAO! I never discuss Cthulu and politics in the same conversation. This is brilliant!
  14. Congratulations Invi and Saffron! A lovely moth and sorcerers apprentice!
  15. Mara, are these luscious guys, um, I mean potions going to be printed on the lovely shiny labels you used last month? They would last so much longer, and I know we all want them to be able to last longer..
  16. Eye candy for sure! OMG! Honey Whip and Midnight Rhapsody *really* have my curiosity piqued! Notes please!!!
  17. OK, so I finally tried mine today. I really, really, really, wanted this one to work on me because I always wanted LP Red to work on me and it just doesn't. This one gave me hope and I went FB on it, that's how much I wanted to make this work. I am a major cinnamon amper! In LP Rouge, the cinnamon is definitely toned down, sort of mellowed by the honeys I think? This one would work for most people who love foody scents if it smelled the same way on them as it does on me. What my skin turns this into is sort of a sweet, buttery cinnamon smell which invokes the image of a delicious piece of cinnamon toast just dripping with butter and cinnamon sugar. I would devour that for breakfast in a heart beat! But alas most food scent perfumes are not my thing. Since I already have and LOVE La Femme Mystere, I will likely be selling this one to someone who can give it the love it so richly deserves. Oh well. I kept and open mind and I tried. This is how we find "the ones!"
  18. Hey there Birkeys! I am familiar with Silicone Glove from back in my Avon Rep days. That stuff really *does* help! From what I have read and done with trial and error, I have found that my perfumes do last longer on well moisturized skin. But what I don't know is what, if any effect this has on pheros?
  19. Believe it or not, I have yet to try mine! This weekend will be a good time to do just that! Sensory overload!
  20. OK, so I finally broke out the x 3 Stone Cougar today and was so uneasy with using it! All I did was put a dab on each wrist and lightly swiped it up my arms (EVER so lightly!). No one is around but me so have nothing to report except for what might be self effects. Felt SO tired before and I do think it perked me up. I am on a Mega antibiotic. I started it last night and take it for a full month! I hate the idea of it, but I hate my constant sinus infections more and I *think* I finally have a good ENT doc to address the problem! Anyway, felt totally wiped out before the Cougar and now seem to have gotten a little boost? I was VERY conservative with this x3. Will gradually up it and report back.
  21. This one started off as very fruity on me. Not sure how this happens, but like BB, when I first put this on, I got that banana like smell too. I know it is not in there. The fruit is Apricot, but it is lost on my skin completely. All I pick up on in fruit is banana. No Vick's Vap-O-Rub at all! So the fruitiness on me is at first an exotic, yummy, phantom banana. This does not last long and it gradually backs down to a very pretty incensey scent. Fruitiness completely went away. On me, the red musk, amber, patchoulli, and smoke are predominant and it lasts really well! I read halo's comparison to Alumette, but I have never smelled that one. This is a bit resiny, but not so dark that it should scare those who fear resins. When I smell this one, I can't help but think "Dolly Light!" LOL! She is the Resident Resin Queen here and I am not sure there is a resin that exists that is too dark for her chemistry to rock. So it's an odd little transformation, but it ends really beautifully. I would still reserve this one for evenings in summer, but in winter or fall, it should be easy to wear any time in my opinion. I have Gotcha unscented, which I have yet to really properly test drive so no comments on the phero aspect yet. Bottom line for me? This one resembles something else in my collection which I can't seem to place, but it is very close to whatever that one is. Just based on that, I don't feel the need to order this one, but will definitely use the trial vial. I would order a full bottle for sure if I did not have something really similar. Two thumbs up from me.
  22. I used EST the other day and got BIG TIME weepy! I know it can do this, but I had my reasons and thought they might override that. Well, I was wrong. Anyway, you don't need the weepies now for sure Lady V! This one really is beautiful if I did not convey that in my review, just not going to be doable for me because of associating it with a very negative time. It's lovely and well worth buying and putting aside, It will only approve with age. Gotta love and envy that about oils!
  23. Ohhhhh... So soft and light and pretty this sounds!
  24. Just got my order today and while it is killing me, I did not try out the x3 Stone Cougar yet since I was not leaving the house. (But I am tomorrow, so....) Anyway, decisions, decisions! The decision to try this one rather than the others was based on my curiosity about Treasured Hearts. In the bottle, it was sort of florally and not anything I could decipher. I put a bit on each wrist to test. At first it scared me because on my skin, it went VERY flowery. Kept thinking I was smelling Jasmine in there. This went on for maybe an hour and then it began to show itself. On me, the change was not gradual. It went straight from floral to something SO familiar, but rather maddening because I could not place it. I kept sniffing and then I recognized it. Now mind you, this is my skin doing this so... anyhow, back in the early 90s I used to wear Avon' s Night Magic which was very Amber heavy. I loved it and got many compliments on it when I wore it. Well it was the scent I wore during a very negative relationship which ended. When it did, I never wore that perfume again. So...on my skin, once it settles in, all I get is very sweet, very powerful amber. I amp Terra Mater like crazy!!! And it lasts!!! Seriously, this potion clings to my skin. I think it is very, very pretty, but sadly, I have the negative association thing going on with it. It takes me right back to "that" time. As far as the TH goes, no self effects that I noticed, but in all fairness, I had a day from hell today. Partner had no reaction to it either way. Could be the whole congruence issue that has been discussed? Maybe in November, I will try a trial of TH. Bottom line, this is a beautiful fragrance in my opinion, am glad I tried it, but I don't think I can wear this one unfortunately. So tomorrow, I will try another.
