  1. This is very very strong on me wet. I dabbed a little on the back of my hand and some type of floral reached out and put me in a choke hold. It has to be either the pansy or the morning glory, it kinda has that Avon in Bakersfield I got with the wisteria in Papal. Was that the one everyone loved and some of us were like... you win some you lose some? - I don't know what kind of floral this is that it just kinda causes a little aftershock in the middle of my forehead. I am going to let it dry and see what happens, but so far wet it's not really winning over the Lady V.

Same here. Very strong floral on application, but as I learned with S&V I can still wear strong ones, just really have to use sparingly. The marshmallow root does temper it a bit with drydown, but then after awhile I get the patch and floral again.

I'm about 45 days young here at LPMP and I can see I'm already leaning towards foody, spicy, green and fruity notes more than straight floral. I'll try this one later but for now I'm going back to my other favorite colors. :peace-sign:

  2. I have just discovered that mysterious note on the bottom of this scent of which you speak. yes, it is a little like a dank basement, but for me it evokes something slightly different: moist primordal earthy soil. This note--and the booze of course--is what makes this not a "cupcake" vanilla.

I love this perfume. So complex. Always something new to discover.

Really nicely worded xev...I ordered a sample of this last month & I'm glad I did. I just hope it gets here before it's sold out & I don't have the option of a FB. I love your idea of cops & LFM. If I love Nola, I definitely think I'll go that route as well. Thanks for your input.

  3. Hey, I liked those pineapple lifesavers!

LOL... I'm sorry vladmyra! Obviously there were enough fans out there because Lifesavers continued them a long time (heck I think at Xmas you can still buy those multi-pack "books"...and I bet pineapple is still in there!) As I said, I didn't smell bad, it just wasn't mixing with my chem to be something I enjoyed. I bet if I smelled this on someone else it would be different. I learned THAT LP lesson yesterday... had a friend try LP Red & I swear it smelled nothing like it does on me.
  4. Man! This one I let sit in sample form FOREVER. Just sitting in my box...glaring at me. It was this weird fascination. I wanted to like it. I DID like it. I was intrigued by the scent, but, certainly, it wasn't me. It was to strong. Too head shop. Too masculine...no way that would ever work as a perfume...

    And yet...

I would test it. I would huff it. There was SOMETHING about it I decidedly liked - but what exactly? Once it dried down it was beautiful, rich, deep and resiny - not head shop at all. What WAS this strange transformation. It was subconsciously appealing on a level that spoke more to my soul than my mind - so strange. I had so many Love Potions, why couldn't I let this one go...what was making me hold on to this scent that I obviously didn't care for - else why would this sample have sat so lonely in my box for so long? Why didn't I just give it away? Then one night, home alone and determined to make a decision about this distracting dilemma, I liberally applied to my wrists a goodly portion of this potion...and MY, did it bloom/BOOM! The musks, the woods, the amber, the bare touch of something sweet...and the STAYING power! It was so heady and thick, but I couldn't stay away from it. I was enraptured, enthralled and completely captivated. Won over entirely. Resistance was futile. There was no getting around it. and though it isn't an everyday wear for me, it is an utter WIN and I'm glad to have a bottle in my collection

WOW Nu Trix! This reads like a steamy romantic novel called Sex & Violins.

I made the mistake of putting it on when I was feeling particularly bitchy (should've ordered Bomb Balm). I thought it might make me be the "fun" aggressor for a change on date night with my SO... turns out everything he did annoyed the HELL out of me. I imagined I was Ms. SV from the label... I would smash one of my violins on the wall and make it in to a damn shank.

    :voodoo:

  5. I tried this again yesterday and it bears repeating: where you are in your cycle makes a huge difference to how things smell. I liked both the scent and the phero much better this around. It is still a bit heavy on the resin for me but overall a *much* better experience. I didn't notice any obvious hits but if anything people were attentive and helpful, especially in shops. I know this is their job, of course.

Donsie thanks for that reminder. It really does make a difference. Granted, I'm pre-meno so my cycles are anything but predictable, but I do know when the Hormone Fairy moves in, cracks her whip and snarls "Let's dance, bitch."
Perhaps that's the optimum time to break out Ms. SV (the bolero jacket wearin'-glassy starin' beauty from the label) and start a mantra of my favorite descriptive S&V quote by Luna:

"Do not fuck with me or you will regret it."

I have a personal affinity now for Sex & Violins, as it was my first big lesson with LP... learning application, scents, and appropriate use. Still don't L O V E it, but I keep it like a loaded gun in my arsenal. Now I "get" the gunpowder!

  6. Being new, I was really looking forward to getting to try Levitation through this (I've read so many great things about Levitation & it's positive effects with depression and anxiety) but instead of being able to focus on the selfies and any social effects I found all I could think about was how I smelled like imitation pineapple - like the pineapple lifesavers that nobody liked and we'd unroll the whole pack just to skip those for something better. I love pineapple (to eat, anyway) but this one, unfortunately didn't mix well with my chem, nor did it ever morph into something else. Not that it smelled bad, mind you...other people may have thought I smelled great, but I have no idea because I was so fruit looped.

  7. Way to go Amalthea! :say09752:

I'm in the "I'll never hit 200" phase of being new... I suppose as I get more used to navigating around here it'll go faster. I'm probably spending more time here than on any of the other social webs (and I prefer it that way!) I like the fact that I feel "safe" here...I'm still not 100% sure who can actually see my FB stuff (and I know I'm shocked at what I can see of others stuff without even being on their 'friend' list!) Plus, it sems like FB changes the way you have to 'adjust security settings' every other week. I guess I'm either too old or too impatient to learn all the new stuff.

  8. On me they are nothing alike. They are both are both great socials. I have both in oil & spray form. But they have very different dynamics. That's me tho. Happy experimenting!!!

Absolutely StacyK! Your posts are really interesting to me and sooo helpful. In fact I would bet you were one of the experts to recommend TH and save me from my MIL. :w00t:

I'm actually glad to know they ARE different as I had a moment (albeit fleeting) of regret after ordering H&S as I thought perhaps they were very similar. In addition to this TH review forum there is a separate one that compares the two - it's really interesting. I haven't done my "homework" to see what the phero difference is, but I'm glad to have both in my arsenal.

  9. Congratulations on the great results, LoveStruck!!! How many sprays did you use to get those fantastic benefits?

One on my torso (over the scent) and one around my neck (which by default ends up on clothes and hair). I know it's supposed to be unscented, but I actually like the way it smells (?) when I first spray it. Of course it's fleeting... but then the lovely (chosen) scent takes over.

I'm waiting on Heart & Souls to arrive, and also Flying Potion... can't wait to experiment with those! I've read some discussion about the (application, social and selfie) similarities between TH and H&S and it will be interesting.

  10. Treasured Hearts is the first "spray" form of phero I ordered, primarily because I was in a panic over an upcoming gathering with my bristley, bitchy in-laws. It worked wonderfully, keeping both my MIL and SIL at bay and perhaps more importantly, allowing me to feel like I had a force-field around me that would deflect any sudden cattiness (something that is a usual occurence).

I've used it since in other social situations, and it does just have a nice feel-good vibe about it. I layered it over Cougar, Ambrosial Summer, Feral and Atomic Mandarin (not together - 4 different times) and every single time I had someone tell me how great I smell and ask what I was wearing! Not an overly social, chatty effect from TH, just a "roll with it" kinda feel.

Thanks to all the forum experts who came to my rescue with the suggestion of this one when I asked for advice on my (impending) in-law invasion. :thank-you:

  11. She has a blog Lovestruck. You can find the link somewhere in her journal.

thanks Halo...couldn't find the link but OMG just the selection in the journals will keep me cracking up for days.
  12. QG you are less than 1,000 from naming yourself on the forum... pretty impressive (for a guy... now you knew that was coming). Remember... I live in a house of testosterone so while I may seem quick to judge men I also appreciate them immensely. :cat696: I have a hard time tolerating mediocrity in general, and it seems to me that women (much of the time) try harder. But you QG, raise the bar for the "guys"... you and musicians... (I never have been able to resist musicians, LOL).

  13. I hope the BAT is a cupcake scent and that it has something like BB in it to keep us bitches from going BAT SHIT CRAZY ON PEOPLE

    I would love that.

    :2701::yeahthat: GoBitchesGo!

ETA: As usual I should look around before I post! Sooooo many good LVisms.

  14. Lady Suzy ate rabbit wontons last night. What kind of fucking devil does that??

She said she wanted to try it and it was good, but then when she went in for her second bite and started thinking about it she freaked out.. I told her well yeah.. We just celebrated them and Jesus last week, they're sacred and religious.. Jesus loved bunnies you JUDAS!

    :rofl222:

LV I believe Snow Leopards are exempt from any judgement connected with rabbit wontons, but don't quote me on that.

  15. When I smelled this right out of the package, I was disappointed. I really thought from the description that I would love this. It was the first Crayon out of my sampler that I opened. I was THAT sure it would be my fav. I was so bummed. It seemed very flowery, overdone... Something there that just turned me OFF.

Ok 10 days later... I revisit my stash. I try this again. At first "whiff" I think I smell like a candle. But a GOOD candle. The kind that you smell as you walk into a shop or someone's house, and you say "what IS that?" Ten minutes later I get the fruit... kind of a yummy applesauce with a smidge of ginger and a little peach nectar. Strangely exotic but not at all heavy or in your face. I don't get pepper, but maybe I'm confusing the ginger for the pepper (I can't label all those "bouquets and notes" that wine connoisseurs taste and smell either!) I can't speak to the phero effect yet bcuz I haven't worn it around others, but I can tell you it makes me feel happy and grounded.

Allergies have been brutal for me the last two days (my eyes look like Rocky Balboa) so I've had to keep cold compresses on my eyes... I would normally be extremely frustrated that I'm not accomplishing anything (75% of my design/photog work is done on my computer & when my eyes are f'd up I can't focus on necessary details so I have to just stop working altogether.) BUT this time- I didn't care! I was just in the moment. I would find myself drifting off in this lovely Blush cocoon... Could this be the phero's effect or just this wonderful scent?! I don't care - this IS my favorite of the Crayons now and def a FB order.

And I will add that I "get" the whole travel shock/waiting period thing now. There should be a list of commandments for newbies to LPMP... And one of them would say "Thou shalt not judge a scent right out of its shipping box."

Mara you do work Magik with ingredients. Thank you for sharing this incredible gift you have.

  16. I already requested a LS Snow Leopard, but now I'd like a Wendy's Hot & Humid too!!!

I quickly grabbed a New after your first post, so these are my 2 "wishes" - thanks Mara - wonderful PEs everyone!!! Got me inspired & thinking about my "first" PEs... I'm shooting for August (my bday month) hopefully I'll be scent-elligent enuf by then to come up with one or two fabulous ones.

    Y'all ROCK

  17. Oh yay! I was hoping the sweet faced kanga would be boosted with MLH. As soon as I looked at those eyes, I knew that was the phero I would want with it. That's awesome that Mara and Luna beat me to it. :emot177:

Yes the Kangaroo makes sense (pocket & all) the Bear label made me think of MLH too - only bcuz she looks like a mom with her hands full!
