My high concept impression of this one is "haunted caramel apple."

I completely agree with this! Reliquary starts out as a sweet, woody vanilla apple on my skin. As it evolves, I get more of the burnt sugar and smoky sandalwood, which overtakes the apple and vanilla. I love this smoky, sweet scent for the fall!

  2. This is a dark, deep coffee on me and it smells a bit like it has an earthy/dirt note in it (not a bad thing). It is less creamy and stronger than I expected but it is perfect for fall!

@LyndaH  Thanks for the review! I somehow never added a sample of this to my order 😱 and was wondering how it compared to the PE edition and to Bare Trap. So, would you say this is creamy and sweet? Also, would you say it’s more of a skin scent or does it get out there?

I haven't compared this to Bare Trap yet, but when compared to the PE that just came out, I'd say it starts out less spicy. As it develops on my skin, it has a thicker (more doughy) feel than the PE version. I like both of them but they have a different feel to me. The PE seems sweeter and airier, while this version seems heavier and less sweet.

  4. I have tried Supra several days in a row. At first I didn't think it was going to work for me because I got an odd play doh type of smell. After it rested from travel, it now smells fantastic! At first application, it is really fizzy and bright. Once it's been on my skin for about 30-45 minutes, it changes into a fruity, sweet vanilla that has a lot of staying power. When I apply it at night, I can still smell it in the morning.

  5. I absolutely love this one! It starts out as a blast of cherry, then mellows into a beautiful chocolate cherry cream scent. It lasts about 4 hours on me, which is unusual because perfumes usually last all day on my skin. I don't mind reapplying though because the smell is so amazing!

Correct. Headspace technology is a weird and wonderful thing...

You know how a lot of times, a flower smells wonderful in nature, but once you crush it to make essential oils, it then smells like camphor? The smell of the flower is ruined? Headspace tech can capture the smell of a REAL LIVE FLOWER. It can also be used to capture the smell of fresh baking bread, or warm cotton candy, or freshly cut fruit etc.

The scientists get a chemical printout of the organic makeup of the sampled item, and then re-create it in a lab. They can use natural or inorganic ingredients to get there, but it's the only way you get these true to life aromas, and we use a lot of them in our perfuming. You would not have perfumes such as Aquolina's Pink Sugar without this tech. They are just a portion of a perfumer's palette, along with essential oils, florisols, hydrosols, attars, resins, absolutes, concretes, and CO2s. We use all of these in our perfumes. Most of them nature-based, but not all.

That's so interesting! Thanks for the explanation, Mara. I learned something new. 😊

Huh, that sounds more like Cocoa Sauvingnon than Wine & Dead Roses. ??? @SirenSong

I really love it, it smells delishus to me!

It does have strawberry, as well as mulberry. But they are not organic (it's headspace technology) so I doubt there would be an allergy reaction, but best to be safe!

So, they are not made from real fruit? They just smell like strawberries?

I thought it was just me! Perhaps it has something with our skin or our sense of smell! I also detected that citrusy cleaner scent even on a paper towel lol. This is also not usually one I would go for but I also like trying out new things, @Kayla! I'm curious how it would layer with Pure Sugar too. I missed out on the layerables that had cream, but I think something with cream would go well too.

I used this perhaps 2 nights ago before going to bed: this on my right wrist and Drew's Elegante on my left. It smelled so soft then even in the beginning! It was just... coffee with perhaps a tad bit of cream and some sweetness. I'm not sure if it was that mild because it aged more or because it was mild compared to Elegante.

I think it's whatever type of coffee note Mara used in this perfume. I have many other perfumes from LPMP with coffee as the main note and none of them smell citrusy on me. This was overpowering in the beginning and all I could smell was citrus. It has settled in nicely now after a few hours and I'm getting a lot of work done from the influence of Mega Watt.

I had to check if this has lime or something citrusy because I'm getting that note when it's on my skin. For the initial few seconds upon application, I get the nice, bitter coffee. But then comes forward this citrusy scent that reminds me of washroom cleaning tablets!

This is so interesting! I got the same citrusy cleaner scent for the first 45 minutes after application. Now, it is still somewhat citrusy but has morphed into a dark tea with lemon scent. I chose this as one of my sale freebies because I like to try new things, plus I wanted a perfume with Mega Watt in it since I've been dragging lately. I like it after the drydown and will probably pair it with Pure Sugar to sweeten it up 🙂

  10. I got Panache as a sale freebie. It is not the type of scent I would usually wear, but I saw vanilla as a note, so I decided to try it.  This is very woodsy on me and I am drawn to keep smelling it, since it seems to be wearing close to the skin. I like the Leather and cops combo because the cops soften the phero effects of the Leather. When I decide to wear this out, I will mix it with something sweet so it's more in alignment with what I typically enjoy. The phero pairing is fabulous!

For me, Pumpkin Lavender Donut is strong on the Pumpkin spices, especially when first applied. Then lavender joins in. I’m only getting a little bit of the donuts. In comparison to Bare Trap (sadly I only have a sample of it), I feel like Pumpkin Lavender Donut is touch spicier. Also, with Bare Trap I smell more sugar, vanilla and donut. More sugar and donut does appear later with Pumpkin Lavender Donut, but still think it’s spicier. They are both lovely! They both dry down to a lovely, spicy but not over powering scent (🙃 or maybe I’ve gone scent blind). My Bare Trap is also older, so it’s possible that some of the differences are due to aging.

Compared to Dreme Creme, they are really different. Dreme Creme is centered much more on soft, pillow-y creaminess with a soft touch of lavender. I smell the soft lavender more in Dreme Creme than with Pumpkin Lavender Donut. Lavender is definitely present in Pumpkin Lavender Donut, but the spices are really the star of the show.

I am getting the same thing, @RosesArePink. This is much spicier on my skin than Bare Trap. It is sweet and not bitter at all, @Onyx. Dreme Creme is a much softer scent and has a different feel to it with the musk. I like them both but they are markedly different.

  12. I absolutely love this one! The cherry is right up front, along with an undertone of spices. After an hour or so it becomes creamier - almost like a cherry Creamsicle or a vanilla soft serve with the hard cherry coating on top. I was a little worried about the pepper note, but the spices are perfect and just add a slight zing to the perfume.

Thank you for the review, Kayla! It's great when things work out like that.  I'm also looking for a scent from years ago and I've found a close one recently, but it's not quite the same. I'm happy for you Kayla and also that you've recovered enough to enjoy scents again! ❤️

I'm so happy that you found a similar perfume to one you loved years ago, Onyx. It's such a nice surprise when that happens! When I asked for this PE, I was thinking more along the lines of Orange Droolious (OCCO) which was more of a true Creamsicle, but this turned out perfect, just in a different way. Yes, I can breathe through my nose again - thank goodness! 😊

My notes say, that of the 2 reserved for you, one was shipped and one on hold, so we should still have that one for you.

    Re rebrews...

I'm currently brewing the 'Weenies, friends, so no more PEs at the moment. Though this was so much fun, we shall do it again soon!

Thank you, Mara! I will send an invoice in a few days, after I decide if I want to order any others. 🙂

  15. This starts out extremely fruity. The plum is right up front and in your face (not in a bad way - just all fruit). After 30-45 minutes, the honey and vanilla peek through and it is absolutely delicious! I put it on before bed last night and could still slightly smell it in the morning, so it seems to have staying power too. ❤️
