@hedgehog Aja actually goes cat pee on me, it’s unfortunate and I haven’t found anything to cover *that* up. It takes anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour and then it just gets stronger and stronger and never goes away. For some reason I can use earthly pleasures without a problem, but that is the only one where the aja plays nicely.🫤

Oh no, that’s too bad! I’m glad Earthly Pleasures works for you though! I wasn’t sure about getting a FB of that one unsniffed due to my issues with Aja, but the other notes sounded so good I did it anyway. It worked out for me too! Something must be special about it…maybe it’s all the base notes keeping the Aja from going a little crazy, haha.

  2. @Amanda I’m glad I’m not the only one, haha!  Aja tends to go “dirty honey” on me unless it’s paired with something super sweet and foodie. So the rest of the fragrance will fade into the background and it will be smutty honey all in your face! Sometimes that’s great, other times not so much.
Whenever that happens I put something chocolatey on top.  That honey chocolate combo is so good.

  3. I don't think I ever reviewed Sugared Vanilla and Honey. This one is really nice - a cleaner, more powdery honey (although not too clean and innocent.) The honey really shines here - the vanilla is more in the background. It starts off very powdery, then shifts into something a little more "liquid" - like thick syrupy honey, then finishes off sweeter, deeper and closer to sugared honeycomb, although not quite as rich and "deep".

Honey tends to skew "dirty" on my skin (I think the only honey that read "clean and innocent" was Creamed Honey) but this is perfect and is easily wearable during the day for me.

This is sweet but not desserty, so I could see it layered under a lot of different scents. It also lasts forever!  Like over 12 hours.

  4. So I am just now getting to testing everything I bought last year...I get really into a few particular scents and sometimes I need the daily threads to remind myself to switch it up!

This is really lovely. It reminds me a bit of Luxurious from a few years back when it starts out (the one with the rainbowy label, can't comment on the rebrew with Classy Dame yet) that really elegant blended floral. Then, it feels really sleek and silky as it glides into this lovely sweet, fresh scent - I'm guessing this is the Egyptian musk coming out. And lastly, the drydown is a mixture of the musk and a juicy, fruity floral - this must be the plum part of the plum blossoms! I was shocked by the drydown (detectable even after 8 hrs) because nothing fruity ever sticks on me. I go through fruity scents in record time.  This is an classy floral that blooms into something even better.

  5. I  thought I reviewed this, but I guess not! This has aged really well. It's a lovely deep, balsamic vanilla, a little less foodie than before, but still with the same sweetness and more depth. The lily is just a little spicy and blended really well. Something about it reminds me of Gogo a little - maybe I've just been wearing Gogo too much recently. 😄

The dry down is that lovely creamy, foodie vanilla in the base for LP Pink. (Probably in LP Original and Red too, but other notes tend to stick around to balance the vanilla out, where in Pink the other notes burn off and leave that lovely vanilla.)

  6. I got the virgin version, so the version with the phero might be a little different due to cops.

The combo of the cocoa butter and almond comes out as almost coconutty on me (a good thing, since I love a good coconut cream scent).  This one actually reminds me a bit of Pie in the Sky. Sweet and syrupy, with creamy undertones. It feels very "round" and "true" and the citrus doesn't come out on me at all - but this was on my wrist, so I'll try it on my chest later and it might be more layered.

  7. It sounds like from your post that you're a little uncomfortable or anxious about this upcoming party. In view of that, I'd say - screw everyone else, wear something that will make you feel good and at ease. All of these pheros are great socials - which phero makes you feel how you want to feel at the party? Pick that one.  If you feel good, you'll have a better time, and other people will feel good too.

You can always wear something for you on your chest or neck and something more social or lively on your wrists. If you have a few days, go ahead and experiment. But please take care of yourself as well.  💗

  8. I am a huge fan of Sensual Harmony.  It’s in my top 10 and is a mainstay in my business trip kit.
It’s elegant, versatile, the LFM is a confidence booster, and I love the vanilla and ylang ylang combo! 🥰
However, sometimes I have to watch out for the “intimidation factor.”  Usually not an issue because I mostly work with people more senior to me, but today I was meeting a more junior associate. I held my hand out to shake hands and he just froze!

One of the other guys commented later that he thought the poor guy was scared of me.  I am not a scary person at all by appearance, haha.
The good news is that he did eventually feel comfortable enough to shake my hand after dinner. 😊

  9. Got this in the sale. This is light and delicate, but very, very good.  I get a whiff of a similar cherry to that in Special Delivery at first, until the other notes come out. The cherry is the star but is made fresher and tarter with the red currant, cassis, and verbena. The musk and amber set it off perfectly, giving it a bit more mystery and sophistication. It wears close to the skin (on me, and after aging for over a decade, anyway) but that's fine since it is extremely huffable, haha.

  10. So it won't let me edit during the sale, but I forgot to add that this is stronger and longer lasting than Gogo, which is more of a lighter summer scent. A little goes a long way!  On a scale of  1=fruity scents (which always fade fast on me) to 10=La Sylphide (which I can only do a couple of dots of before everyone is commenting on it), it's like a 8. Whereas Gogo is more like a 4.

  11. @Mila  I'm comparing Gogo and Liebchen side by side right now.  My Liebchen has been resting for a little under 48 hrs, so there might be some slight travel shock.

Vika was right on when she said that Liebchen was more like Warm and Cozy, which I would say is the closest comparison I've smelled. I would consider Liebchen a "deeper", slightly more camphorous (but not in a sharp or bad way) lavender. A more lavendery lavender than Gogo, which really amped up the creme-brulee and almost chocolatey notes and doesn't feel as "lavendery." As it blooms, the vanilla comes out and it becomes that nice smooth lavender/vanila/amber that LPMP is so good at.

The vanilla in here is also deeper and stronger than in Gogo, where the cream felt more like a creme patisserie than deep, rich, vanilla. Gogo also has a silky, light, and almost "cool" evocation to me (maybe from some kind of musk?), which I don't get in Liebchen, which is darker, deeper, and richer.  It starts out feeling like a winter scent, very rich and strong lavender/vanilla/amber, but then lightens up while keeping that essence.

I'd say they're pretty different. So if you like lavenders, you need both!

@Eastwood22 was raving about Tortuga in one of these threads, so I pulled out my sample. She’s right, it is unusual and special. Last I checked, there was one bottle left, but maybe it’s gone. I wanna play with True Confessions and hear juicy secrets! :P

There's still one left! It's not too late! 😊

I picked up Tortuga last year and I can attest to its specialness. It really is like being transported to the beach.

  13. @RosesArePink Interesting theory!  I haven't had any noticeably terrible reactions to EST heavy blends, but I have noticed that "family men" react really well to EST. You know the kind of guy who's always talking about his wife and kids and all their milestones and trips and it's super sweet? Or the ones that might be more aggressive at work but are really gentle and protective with their kids.  I feel like that kind of guy is extra nice and cheerful with EST.

I think I'm now stocked for at least a few years....

This is what I tell myself every year, but every year I can't help "stocking up" in the sale, haha. I'm resolving to use up some of my older bottles this year.

Sounds like a great order! I picked up Luxurious too - I didn't grab it last time around and regretted it.  I know one of your PEs is Black Panther, what's the second one? [definitely not me scoping out the PEs to see if I need to save up for another order 🙃]

  15. Noco Red: really nice, and much brighter than LP Red.  It’s not just Red-lite: it’s definitely it’s own scent.

LP Red is more complex and layered, with that undercurrent of the amber and resins. Even though amber is in the notes for NoCo, it’s not nearly as strong as it is in LP Red for me: I mostly get a perfumey cinnamon vanilla sugar with a big dollop of bright apricot.   If LP Red is too incensey or smoky for you, you might like NoCo better.

I like blending the two the most: all the complexity of LP Red, but brightening it up a bit with the NoCo.
