  1. Oh by the way--I like Octopussies and Lovecraft, but it took me THIS LONG to see the tentacles in the art of Fraise Citron!!! I kept pondering how in the world that one spawned all the Cthulu stuff. Just wanted y'all to know that I'm a foof.
  2. The Lady on Bittersweet looks just like Nichelle Nichols back when she played Uhura! That's reason enough for me to LOVE that one. Hee! I just looked her up to make sure I was spelling her name right and saw that she sang with Duke Ellington and Lionel Hampton in the old days!!! She's also the same age as my Mom.
  3. Holy sheepshit!!! I was having a heart attack when I saw this thread!!! I'm So GLAD you Ladies figured out an alternative formula, because I am another B2 addict. It kept me sane yesterday during some...stress. Ahem. It helps me sleep, helps keep me from harming my family, helps my daughter with PMS...Gods! THANK YOU for putting a new one together!!!
  4. ~HA!!! Okay, now I see why luna was giggling.~ . . Oh DAMN! That gets better every time I say it to myself!!! CTHOOGLED!
  5. You know, all these dark Cthonic (did I say that right?) art pieces juxtaposed next to...say, luna's TrevorBunny and LoveStruck's sweet truck? My face is hurting from giggling! I was screaming about the octopus disciple! CUUUUUTE!!! And Mara, WHERE DID YOU GET THAT OCTOPUS SMILEY?!?
  6. :cat690: SQUEEEEEE!!! Total Wonderment. Now to check out the scent clues in that magnificent art!
  7. O Luna, Our Most Beloved Scribe! Anyhintsanyhintsanyhints?
  8. Here I was, trying to be circumspect and not stalk. Y'all beat me to it, so I am joining the fun!!! I'm longing for the sugareds, too. I'd love a Cougar! OH! How about another Sexology?
  9. GAH!!! Totem: Ducky keeps befuddling me. I do get some orchid, and definitely the fruitiness, and probably the heather and definitely the water lily and ozone, and the whole aquatic feel...amongst the total BLEND of scent. When it first goes on, it's a little too fruity and watery and sweet, and I start to dismiss it. But then, it warms and morphs and hits me better...and yet I still dismiss it. But!!! On LONG drydown, it has magically morphed into something I really like! So the earlier stages are too sweet and fruity and floral for my usual tastes, but the long drydown nails it! Befuddled. Also, this feels VERY springtimey. I think Mara really captured the season in this collection.
  10. I'm another one with the fresh, green, outdoorsy, light floral, springtimey thing. WAY springtimey! The musk sort of knits it all together for me, and keeps it from being *too* fresh and green. This is reeeaaalllly pretty, but it's not my usual preference for a skin scent--I have to be in the exact right mood for one like this...but it *does* happen. Heh. I may end up using it more in my hair, where I think it will ROCK.
  11. Feel better soon, LadyV!!! I wanted to pop back in and say that I still get the candy-ish thing from Chick, and I still really enjoy it! It kind of perplexes me because I automatically try to suss out individual notes and they tend to elude me with this one. Nice Totem: Chick hard candy. Yes. Very spring-like and fresh, but with a certain warmth.
  12. Hee! Well, then... With those notes, I was expecting a lot of cinnamon, DARK chocolate& coffee, and like black honey. You know, a kind of fun and spicy smack on the butt! So when it *didn't* do that the first wearing, I thought it was travel shock. I kept testing it, letting it rest a day, testing some more, resting another day...I finally just SLATHERED and dared it to smack my patootie. HA! This is what I get every single time: Soft, sensuous, honey-musk with a hint of milk chocolate that smells SO. FUCKING. GOOD. My skin does NOT turn it to hazmat. My skin also does not amp any of the notes. It smells like a classy, fancy perfume that makes me think House of Chanel for some reason. Well, except MARA does plenty of classy fancy perfumes, so it's House of LPMP! So here I was, expecting a rollicking sort of scent, and instead it's a nice, long, black velvet sheath and red lipstick perfume. DROOL!!! I hope it doesn't start rollicking with age. Heh. That would, of course, match *moi*, but I reeeeeally love Quixotic Xocolatl it the way it is right now.
  13. Wow. Seajammarket, now I know just *why* this is such a beautiful, loving perfume. I am honored to have a bottle. HUGS! P.S. Crying along with all of you. Happy cry!
  14. Blush is one of my two favorite Crayons. Blush comes out as a wonderful blend of pink, fruity, sexy, nomminess on my skin. Perfect Match is always a wonderful phero for me, too, so the combo is just...perfect. Too bad I blew it and didn't snag a bottle! Missed the ones on Artfire too. Will have to keep the eyes peeled on the trades!
  15. This is one of my two favorite Crayons, neck-and-neck with Blush! It reminds me so much of Bunns of Cinn. I put them on, one on each wrist, and the differences are there like some of y'all have described. I never tried the Gimme Money, so can't speak to that. Vermillion is absolutely delicious and I am delighted that I have a vial. Now...I think I'm going to have to get a bottle if I can snag one before it's sold out. WAIT! Is it sold out already??? *runs to LP site* *runs back* WOO!!! There's still some in stock. *Whew!*
  16. This one took me by surprise in a good way! I've only worn it once so far, but this is how it went: At first, I did get the grains and meringue and butter/cream thing, and I was all, "Well, that's nice." Ignored it for a while, then caught a hint of sweetgrass. That was more interesting, but it till didn't really grab me for long. Then, waaaaaaay into the drydown, I snoofed it again and it had sweetened and become sort of candy-like and a tad fruity. Fruity?!?? No idea where that came from, but I really LIKE it! I need to wear this more and see if it consistently turns into that candy.
  17. I love our bears here on the mountain. They can be a pain in the arse, but they're just so neat!!! When we first moved into this house, a big one stuck its head through a screen and into the window to see who the new folks were. Hee! I've told the story before so won't repeat the details, but it was cool and that bear did what I demanded but obviously knew exactly which one of us was at the top of the food chain. *snort* LUNA! You nailed this for me! I was trying to figure out how to describe it and you said it perfectly. It is delicious and I am seriously trying to talk myself into buying more. Hee!!! I also keep thinking of wearing it in the fall--not sure why, but there it is. YUM-OHHH! Hey, do we have any bear smileys? Oh yeah, we do! Well, ours are black bears, but this guy'll do!

    Egg 2014

OMIGODOMIGODOMIGOD!!! I can actually WEAR Egg 2014 without my skin eating it alive!!! :hearts0425: :hearts0425: :hearts0425: :hearts0425: *Whew!* Sorry for yelling. I am so happy! This is such a pretty scent, and for some reason this time around it *stays* around. WOOT! Everyone has described it better than I could over the years, so I won't even try. Just wanted to say that IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. This is definitely bang-on (bang! Heh!) raisin bread with spice on me. It's delicious!!! I can't smell the cops at all, and the warm spiciness is embracing and relaxing. It makes my eyes roll back, too. YUMMY!!!
  20. OMG. Oh, my-my-MY! WOWSERS. This one is my hands-down favorite of the April NRs. I was a little worried about the Licorice Root so I didn't get a full bottle right off, but I sure as hell will now!!! So, let me back up and start again. I love bats. LOVE them. I fell head-over-heels for them when we moved to the mountain twenty-some years ago. I've had them skim my hair, skim my ear, chitter at me when I accidentally pinched a widdle toesie whilst catching one to take it back outside...they are dear and beautiful and wonderful and they EAT MOSQUITOS. And, they are definitely a Totem Animal for me. All that said, here's the scent thang. Snoofing the vial, it's kind of sharp and earthy--rather like sitting down on damp dirt and damp fallen leaves. It evokes my forest on a rainy, foggy day in late fall or early winter. YUM. It sits on my skin like that for a few minutes. Then, as soon as it gets good and warm and melds with my chemistry a bit...here comes the shift. Some sweetness begins to creep in. It's an herbal/woodsy sweetness, so it's completely congruent with it's beginnings. This is getting lovely. It hangs out and does this for a while. The next phase eluded me the first time I wore it, because I'd assumed that it was finished morphing and didn't check. The sweetness starts to warm scent-wise. You know what i mean? The earthiness is still there along with a woodsy feel, but something else is developing and you can tell it's going to be GOOD. Some spiciness creeps in...maybe the Marigold? Things keep shifting subtly, heading more and more in its chosen direction. Now it starts to feel more...Gods, I don't know how to say it! The Banyan Fruit comes in quietly, and the Vetiver is humming along in the background. It's starting to turn the forest into something exotic. Except..."exotic" isn't it. Magickal? Mysterious? Incredibly sexy?!? AAAHHH. The Musk is sliding in. Everything dances around like this for another long while. Then, ever so gradually, my damp forest day turns into a fabulous Bohemian mountain night that holds many occult shadows and very much delicious possibility. Every time I wear Bat I lose track of the morph at this point. Every. Single. Time. It flits beyond my ken and them returns, slices through a shaft of light, and... ...Suddenly I realize that I'm wearing one of the most incredible Musk perfumes ever. All the foresty notes are there, but they're so laid-back that they blend completely. At this point I well and truly cannot describe it any more. It's one of the sexiest perfumes I've ever had the pleasure to smell and wear. It makes me think of lush paisley fabric. Paisley! I feel like wrapping up in one of my paisley shawls--and not much else except some black khol around the eyes--and presenting myself to a guitarist. Happily, I am married to one. Heh. Can you tell I get selfies from La Femme Noire...? Mara, if you can hear me, this perfume is ABSO-FREAKIN'-LUTELY BRILLIANT. Thank you for making it!
  21. Burnt Umber and I have been at a standoff since I got her. I usually like attars...and fer cryin' out loud: Every note except smoke is a WIN note for me, and smoke will sometimes play nice with my skin. Aaaand Burnt Umber is an absolute staple on my palette, no matter which medium I'm in!!! But, well, the first two times I tried wearing Burnt Umber, I just amped the hell outta the earth and the smoke, and that's all I got before it faded. This SO disappointed me. Freakin' skin chemistry! However, tonight...tonight there has been progress! The ampage didn't happen with the smoke, the earth (which I always lurrrrve) screamed, "O HAI!!!" and then immediately backed down, and I am getting a little bit of dry Sandal!!! So! I am holding onto this vial because I think it just may age as gracefully as I. *gigglesnort* P.S. Am going to try Tyvey's trick with the Warm & Toasty. ~Thanks, Woman!~
  22. ~Dark chocolate, black coffee, cinnamon bark EO, dark honey~ Well! This is a surprise favorite for me! It's a surprise because it smells WAY different than I thought it would...but I LOVE EET!!! That's all I'm saying for now, because doesn't Megan need to review it first?
  23. EGGERS! How appropriate that you're reading these at the vet's! But hey--is everything all right with your furries???
  24. OMG! They're allllll up at once!!! WOO-HOOOOOO!!! BRILLIANT!!! Wowsers that was a sisyphean task...but we LOVE the results!!! I just read through the scribing that appears right on the front page--haven't checked inside the listings yet--but I gotta share. I read so fast when I'm all exciterated that I pulled a huge silly with Totem: Bear. "...you can take into yourself the potency and protection of Bear's habitat as well as one of the favorite delicacies which defines Bear's irrepressible sweet tooth!" I overlooked the "sweet" and immediately thought, "Salmon?" We have a salmon perfume this month?"
  25. Holy Doo-Dah. May I reserve claim with grabby hands a bottle of Megan's Quixotic Xocolatl, please?
