This is very much a calm, relaxing kind of scent but it is just a little too feminine for me. That does not mean it will not work for other guys as this is really a unisex scent.

This is a very nice wintery, woodsy type of scent with a bit of a zing with the peppermint. It seems a bit more masculine to my nose too but that is also how most unisex scents register to me.

Wow - someone is becoming quite famous in the big city! LPMP the Movie ... starring Mara as the cosmetics counter girl and rain_dancer as the mysterious unnamed Perfumerie client haha!

This one is almost what you would expect between the name and the ingredients, but like a lot of Mara's magic, it is just a little surprising different. As other's have said here - Medium 2016 certainly lives up to it's name. It is deep, it is resinous, and there is certainly a spiciness to it - a deeper spiciness that matches the overall mood. It is what I would think of for me as a special occasion scent. I certainly could not pull it off every day although others probably could. Luna makes and interesting point about the dragon's blood. There is not too much for me but I realized from doing a review of Bloodroot (that has dragon's blood in it also) that it is the dragon's blood in these two scents that has been confusing me a little. On my skin, the dragon's blood fades in and out and back in over time, which for me is a little unusual. Usually when a certain note dries down it stays dried down. But not the dragon's blood. The more I think about it, I think maybe the dragon's blood is really staying relatively constant and it is the other notes that come forward or fade which make the dragon's blood seem to come and go. Whatever it is, it has taken me several wears over and extended period to figure it out. But I have said it before - I am kinda slow when it comes to individual notes. If you like deeper scents like I do, get it while it is there to be got.

I have worn this several times trying to get my thoughts together about writing a review and I am still at a loss. This is a great scent - I really like it. But It is hard for me to tell you where one note ends and the others pick up. I think the slight sweetness of the Black Currant is what I get the most of at first when it is wet. it seems to kind of sit on top of the mahogany and musk. But you can get the dragon's blood back in there too. Once it dries down, the sweetness dries down and then the smoke pops up in the background with the mahogany, musk and dragons blood paying more in the foreground. I think what is throwing me off a little is how the dragon's blood seems to move forwards and backwards depending on how long it has been on. And again, that is one of the amazing things about Mara's scents: that they can change a little over the day. This one is almost like true sorcery on me as it seems to shift so much over the day but always smells great. Get it while it lasts!

I got my package this week. I am still amazed at how fast things ship out of Washington.

This is a very strong coffee and cocoa forward scent on my skin. Wet the coffee just explodes, dry the coffee and coca meld and you can manage to catch the patchouli, oud and some of the smoke in the background. Not a bad scent but I am not a coffee guy and this is just a little too strong on my skin. That being said, I may still need a full bottle. Mrs. QG is one of those "DO not talk to me until I have had a cup of coffee in the morning" kind of persons. So I am hoping if I wear this first thing in the morning she will love me as much as her little black cup of morning sunshine haha! I will let you know how that experiment works lol.

Of course - by up close and personal I meant aim it at someone's house or business and fry all the electronics therein as opposed to a large scale EMP weapon designed to take out a city or the Eastern Seaboard. Or like Luna alludes to, drive by the local power substation with the EMP gun and take out ALL the electronics at once. Imagine doing that to 4-6 substations in one area at one night. The local power company would be hard pressed to get them all back up and running soon as certain components are very low density on hand items due to their cost. How about the local train station? Or airport? Aim at one aircraft taking off or landing. One can only pray that the FBI or someone keeps track of purchases involving the key components of such a device but considering most are COTS electronics I too an a little surprised we have not experienced that yet. Although who knows, now that we have brought up the subject, Luna & I just might get a visit from the FBI haha!

Yes to the EMP weapon but you can make an EMP gun for the up close and personal.

Our entire electronic & even electrical infrastructure in this country is very vulnerable, made even more so by the internet. So many systems are online - dams, etc. - and this shows how an attack could go after ther internet itself or use the internet to go after infrastructure. What is even more scary is that a lot of the devices that were commandeered for this attack were older generation industrial/business type webcams - everyday devices most people would not consider "computers" but because they connect to the internet, they can be commandeered like they were. Wikileaks indicated some of its followers may have been behind the attacks although at this point who knows. This one I had to wear several times to get a feel for it as wet and dry are VERY different on me. Wet this is very tangerine. Combined with the currant, this is very citrus and very sweet on my skin. Really too tangerine/sweet for me if the scent remained like that. However, once it dries down, the sea aquatics come forward so you get more of a clean sea aquatics scent with a citrus background on my skin. This is almost too light/citrus a scent on me but it is not a bad scent by any means. I am still trying to make up my mind how much I like the scent lol. I will let you know as time goes by. I do not tend to wear mixes that are alpha-nol heavy. People already talk to me and tell me their secrets, and alpha-nols on me just tend to make them super chatty haha!
