  1. I don't know how to begin to explain or describe this scent. I guess I will just give you the bottom line up front and say it is my favorite so far for this month. Even more so than the two ocean aquatics which kinda surprises me. I understand the women liking it but it seems so "deep" or "darker" that it really comes across as a more masculine scent to me so women wanting to wear it is almost a surprise. I say almost because I am not surprised at anything anymore given the appeal of Mara's scents. Wet, I get more of the licorice and anise. They fade once it all dries down but they are still there, but not overpowering as you might expect. The lavender is there but it is more of a deeper more masculine lavender. It certainly does not come across as feminine to me, and I tend to prefer the deeper, spicier male scents or the masculine aquatics here. After that the water accord is there and I certainly pick up on the black tea. The amber blends in there somewhere I just cannot single the note out. But combined all together - certainly an attention-getter. You cannot go wrong no matter what size bottle you get. In fact you will probably wish you just went ahead and got the full bottle and not just the sample. ETA: I like this even more as I wear it more.
  2. This is a little sweet on me at first because of the coconut and guavaberry but once it dries down and the sweetness fades, it is a clean ocean smell. Certainly different from Sandy Bottom. Sandy Bottom was more out on the ocean in a sailboat to me. And very different from Ocean Mist, another fragrance in this collection. This is more like a clean ocean scent that clings to you after walking on the beach. It is hard to explain but for those who live on or spend a lot of time on the beach like I do, you know what I am talking about. Now, I am not sure I need the lettuce cooling my lustful passions but hopefully the vanilla offsets that aspect of it haha! Seriously - this is a very cool scent. I keep smelling my application points and am amazed at how "clean ocean-like" this scent is. Like all Mara's scents, it just blends into your skin and gives you something unique. In a business that deals in unique scents, this is a very unique scent. And again unique in the very best sense of the word. and the funny thing is, I cannot even place it in a summer or fall type scent category. Sandy Bottom to me was definitely summer out on the water. This is more the clean scent of the ocean clinging to you at any time. If you like (or even think you might like lol) aquatic scents, give this a try. You will not be disappointed.
  3. Yes it is. But you also say he has manic phases. Bi polar and cycling perhaps?
  4. I have mentioned in other reviews that coconut explodes on my skin and it does here too. It has to dry down quite a while for the coconut to die down on my skin but once it does, Luna's description is pretty much dead on. I really do like the mix of the lime, musk and salt. It is masculine and pretty bracing as Luna mentions. The only thing different on my skin is that while I cannot smell the pineapple, I do get a hint of the sweetness of the pineapple. The sweetness is not strong at all, perhaps just enough to keep the lime, musk and salt from perhaps being too much. Interestingly enough, this is also quite a different ocean scent from Atlantic shore another fragrance in this month's collection. Both are very evocative of a walk along the ocean, but in very different directions. Like Luna says above, it gives off a more traditional male vibe - perhaps because of the lime. It really does remind me of a day at the ocean. If you said masculine, bracing, & ocean, then this would be what you would get. It is hard to describe the difference - just get a sample of both and you will see what I mean. If you like the clean scent and feeling of the ocean, with what would be on everyone else just a hint of coconut, then this is definitely worth a try!
  5. LV (Lady Victoria) told us. She says she has a psychic connection to other women like that ... (JK!)
  6. This place is so magickal, Mara can even brew up Secondary Virginity ...
  7. samples of the Unisex scents - maybe a FB of Splendor in the Grass - and probably a FB of Cedar & Sandalwood.
  8. Very nice as always! I always love the pictures of the event as I cannot be there.
  9. Great shades of the '70s Artwork, Batgirl! Leaves me feeling very nostalgic.
  10. Maybe just slow over the holiday weekend.
  11. Sounds great!! Mara always does a great job with fragrances like this. I was wondering what it was going to smell like.
  12. Like Luna said, honest is cool here. I have said I did not care for certain scents several times. Voracious does not work for me either. I do not know if you have noticed, but I am a Creed fan too. Green Irish Tweed, Himalaya and Tabarone. I originally came here for the pheromones as well and at first, I was not sure about some of the fragrances either. Mara comes at fragrances from a slightly different direction than most commercial houses. But another thing I noticed personally, and have read in reviews at Basenotes and others, is that I think we get used to the "chemical" scent you find in a lot of commercial fragrances. In fact one of the funnier negative reviews I ever read about GIT was the chemical scent the reviewer did not care for. If you like outdoors scents, then maybe Morning Star (very herbal/garden) or Salute from the Etsy site - again a very strong woodsy scent, not the fresh green of GIT.

    Hello

Hello and welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about you losing those bottles. What a disaster!
  14. Not Sweet: Kingmaker, Sandy Bottom (on Etsy page - only 2 left), Cry Havoc, Sand Box, Edmund, Xavier, LP #9. Salute is not sweet either (also Etsy page) - it is a very ever-green scent. I like it as I am outdoors a lot so yeah lol. These are some of my favorites. I use Cry Havoc as the scent for my car and women LOVE it. It get a lot of compliments using that on a piece of felt in the car.
  15. Luna listed 3 great scents that are already boosted with either Charisma or SS4M which are great pheromone mixes. I love all three of them. I am also one of those guys Luna referred to that likes to uses unscented pheromones under a variety of different fragrances. Like PM said, don't add cops to the Charisma mix. Either get Pashazade or Heart Throb as a stand alone pheromone. I highly recommend Pashazade. LIke Halo said, even with cops, you will not attract lesbians. They are attracted to other women. Pheromones are not mind control. They are more like subtle hints and it will be up to you to get people to act on those hints through your behavior. All the chemically based subtle hints in the world however will not make you a woman lol.
  16. Vulture and the Egg. Okay hahaha! I love that name!
  17. Haha - I am always amazed at some of the interpretations! I would say this is a more masculine unisex scent but the ladies beg to differ! I really do not get much of the tobacco out of this and quite often tobacco blows up on my skin. Instead this is the "dusky" (as Luna puts it so well!) scent of oud and frankincense with a touch of vanilla and tobacco. Again - deep and rich but falling short of heavy or overwhelming. I really love scents like this.
  18. Luna is right - if you like Eternal Sunshine, then you will like this one. It is garden herb freshness. Very brisk, very fresh. I maintain an herb garden for cooking and this is like a concentrated whiff. Just a very natural scent.
