  1. Jeez, how did you know I was looking for a suitable reward for keeping to my New Year's Resolutions?
  2. You can read my other posts...H&S is the ONLY thing that stopped my ex's rages.
  3. Good to see you again! I am really liking the spell collection...to me, the effects seem really clear. I don't know if you've tried the new MegaWatt phero, but it's pretty spectacular. It's in Determination Potion in the Spell Collection. I'm also looking forward to reading some reviews!!
  4. If it's jobs you want...if it's an in-person interview, I'd say MM. The intent is great, and it's got the Swimming With Sharks phero, too! SWS seems to make folks let their guards down enough to LISTEN. I know I'm great all by myself, but I credit the SWS I wore during my interview days with giving me the edge that got the offer. Recently I have been wearing Road Opener or Money Multiplier (or Mean Business, which also has SWS) in group meetings, and Determination Potion or UNMegawatt when I'm in my office. Pendulum Potion for tough decisions, Liquid Mercury for touchy communications... I could not have had better results.
  5. Well, for those who have been following my continuing saga...I got a job!! I had 2 in-person interviews (flying out there to interview), and 1 resulted in a job offer, which I took. The other one I am waiting to hear about, but they only interviewed 3 people, so even getting to that stage means Top 3. SWIMMING WITH SHARKS all the way, and some Topper for meals or car rides...got everyone cheery and talkative. I wore it on the backs of my hands and in my hair. I had Mean Business, Lap of Luxury, and a couple of others I had 50% boosted. It made people relax and listen sympathetically to my answers. In one case people commented that they had never seen one of the committee members so mellow, that usually she was very confrontational. Of course all was congruent...clothes, grooming, attitude...and of course I was invited to visit based on my résumé and phone interviews...but I absolutely give credit to the pheros for that extra nudge that tipped the scales, and I'll never go to work without them!! I relaxed and felt confident, too. It's like, all else being equal, who do you choose? The person who feels good to be around! I have read some comments that, "I hesitate to use SWS, because I don't want to come off as too strong"...um, no, that's not what it did. It gives off a "trustworthy and worth listening to" vibe. Thank you, LP!!
  6. Please add in my vote for a "Rebrew Month" (or, really, just Re-Release Month, maybe 24 scents that are "in danger" of running out?). And I am really hoping for a "spell potion" month. Don't know if I can afford the whole set, but Mean Business and Ashes to Dust have been a revelation. I even ordered Mean Business for my friend in Japan who was asking for something "not so girly" to wear at all-male meetings. Thosr guys aren't gonna know what hit 'em!
  7. Update: I took SWS, Pop potion, and Topper. For the first night's dinner with the Dean I wore Lap of Luxury (SWS) + Topper. For the next entire freakin' day of interviews with a bunch of different groups, Mean Business (SWS). Bingo! Supportive questions from them, solid answers from me. Added some Topper for the lunch meeting, and everyone got happy. The pheros weren't the problem...I had made some dynamite presentations on prezi.com, but it would NOT let me log in. I wasn't logged in on any other device or anything. No one, including the IT guys, could figure out why it wasn't working. Finally did a lame-o workaround with an iPad and a doc cam. Grrrr....my brother helped me with my presentation, and I didn't have the heart to tell the whole sad story, so just told him it went great... It actually didn't go THAT badly...it was clear that, presentation software or no, I knew what I was talking about. And someone said that, and others agreed, and they asked questions that showed they'd been paying attention. A little Pop Potion on my hair for the trip back to the airport, and the guy who was driving me was gushing about how much they enjoyed it. I still think the main guy was iffy about me...something going on there that wasn't the pheros or the presentation. He didn't say a word at dinner, with 3 friendly women trying to draw him out, so maybe he's got a scared-of-females thing. No idea. Sometimes that means they already have another candidate in mind. Or maybe he's just shy. He was OK with me one-on-one. But everyone else was great...and just being there means I was 1 of 3. So, even more positive vibes, please!! Moral of the story...even the best pheros can't solve tech issues.
  8. Well, yay, me! I got invited to travel to an on-campus interview!! The people seem really nice...but the stakes are kind of high for them, and I think there's a fair amount of angst about choosing the right person. The schedule is like this: I fly in at 5 pm, someone picks me up at the airport and takes me to the hotel, I probably have dinner with the committee, and the next day someone takes me to the campus and I have 5 or 6 hours worth of meetings and interviews with various types of people (hiring committee, upper administrators, faculty, students, future colleagues in related departments). I love SWS, so was plannig on using that. I was thinking maybe with Topper for the first evening's dinner? Any other, better ideas? I have SWS in Spanish Gold, Lap of Luxury, and the wonderful new Mean Business. Is it better to use the same scent the whole time, or different ones on the 2 days in case someone doesn't like one of them? I know that there are some perfumes (hello, Giorgio Beverly Hills!) that give me an instant dislike for the person wearing them. All 3 scents are fresh and office-friendly, however.
  9. Well, Speed Dating was canceled at the last minute. Apparently not enough women signed up (!) and feedback was that lots of people had office Christmas parties conflicting with the schedule. So we get to choose another session, in January. Assuming I am still single, LOL. I am now leaning towards Gotcha! I don't know why I didn't think of it before...i've only ever had positive results with it. Seems to get people to let down their guard a bit.
  10. Not to talk this one to death, but what about Gotcha? I've got a whole bottle of UN spray, plus Exotica in oil. This sounds like it might be a good situation for it. It's got that "drop o' cops" thing going on, like Cougar, too.
  11. I often need a fair amount of things, but 2 sprays seems best with this. Still some effect with 1.
  12. My Narcissistic Personality-Disordered husband had a very bad reaction to Empathy Potion. Someone suggested that since the disorder is characterized by a lack of empathy, it might be something that he finds very threatening and uncomfortable. That's the reaction I got. Tried Heart & Soul, and it was like night and day. And it even calmed him down mid-rage, something that usually can't be done. So I changed to Heart & Soul with him. I use Empathy Potion for shopping, doctor and dentist appointments, and haircuts. It has a great effect...even during the Black Friday rush. People come closer, talk more, and give me free stuff!! So just try something else; you'll find another good use for the Empathy Potion!
  13. GREAT hints. I only have samples of Cougar, and nearly out. I will do a bit of road testing with smaller amounts of SS4W. Perfect Match I only have in Blush, which does NOT agree with me. Haven't really tried BAM, but I will. For now, I'm leaning towards LFM + a tiny bit of OCCO Ambrosia. The last time I used OCCO a guy stared at my chest, which was a novel experience. I have LFM in Vieux Carré and Breakfast in Bed. 50%-boosted oil and homemade spray. Vieux Carré is a yummy pineapple-licorice that I like very much, but in this case I'll probably go with Breakfast in Bed, 'cause it smells like French toast and BACON.
  14. I woke up in the middle of the night and put on some MegaWatt. Why? Do we need a reason? It seemed like a good idea at the time. Slept like the dead, but also had tons of dreams, some of which were very helpful. Felt a lot clearer and lighter today. The heavy, depression-barely-at-bay feeling was gone. And I thought, " wow, it feels good not to feel bad". I like it.
  15. Thanks! You know, I have not had tons and tons of anything from Cougar. Or SS4W, for that matter. Might be just a matter of finding the sweet spot, but...
  16. OK, I'm back in Seattle, newly single, and I signed up for "UK-style Speed Dating" (which apparently means better hors d'oeuvres and no name tags and whistles). It cost $29, but I got a $12 discount by knowing Gordon Ramsay's intended career path before becoming a chef (it was football/ soccer). Here's ma thing: I am 49, but I don't LIKE American men my age ( sorry sorry sorry to stereotype, but then again I think that LP Forum members have a monopoly on all the best guys), and wouldn't mind meeting a guy a few years younger (à la the most recent Bridget Jones' "now that's what I call rebranding"). The "suggested age range" for the event is 29-39. They urge you to ignore the suggested range, but the organizer said that in reality they rarely get folks older than early 40s. AND...they have a "boutique matchmaking service" ($400 per date, food/ drink not included) and get all of their prospective partners from the pool of Speed Dating participants...so...if you get chosen, it's like getting the "boutique matchmaking service" for free. And given my current situation, free is a very good price. I promise to do my "congruence" part...I made friends with the organizers and bought cute new shoes. Now for the important part: the perfume!!! I want to know the best phero for getting as many guys as possible to check "yes" on their lists. Apparently they have actual Yes/ No lists, and Yes means, "I'd like the organizers to ask if she wants my email address". I would assume that if you get lots of Yes votes, they'd think, hmmmm, and ask if you are willing to participate in the matchmaking service. I am friendly and good at keeping a conversation going, so I am not worried about that part. Far more than meeting my One True Love at Speed Dating, my goal is to leave lots of guys wanting to know me better so they check "yes". The place is very public (bar area of a busy restaurant, there's valet parking, there are organizers...So if you think my strategy should be to hit 'em upside the head with some cops, bring it on...this is the perfect situation. It's in about 10 days, so no time for a new order, but I have lots to choose from, so please-please..?? And I promise to report back with all juicy details. So, my goals are: -not stand out like Mutton in a field of Lamb...if I can't pass for 42, pass for 45. -create a fun, happy vibe for conversation, make a favorable impression. -impress the organizers with what a fab person I'd be to join the "boutique matchmaking" thingie-thing. - MAKE ALL THOSE GUYS CHECK "YES!!!" ON THEIR FORMS. There's no group I'd rather ask for advice...and has anyone ever done Speed Dating? Cheers!
  17. What Patchjulie said...that's what I meant when I said that the white noise went up, like when I meditate (I am the world's worst meditator, because I've got mental chatter commenting on the mental chatter...). The feeling of being more directly plugged into an energy field without so much being filtered through all the commentary and self-talk. Which is a good thing. Relaxed focus, more open to possibilities. That zen thing.
  18. Irish Eyes, good reminders of how to get through rough times!! I do have a hobby: I collect perfume.
  19. Sounds like jobs I've had that needed moving on from!! To those who harp on productivity, I always think, "of course you're "productive"...you haven't got a bitchy, annoying co-worker to deal with". Hang in there...but only until you ditch the place for something better!! Got a whole slew of job applications done, yay, me! Remember...you only need ONE job, if it's the right one. I am thinking about a Private Edition scent intended to lend a little get-up-and-go...or if anyone has a recommendation? Like cutie.pie said, a Spell Potion would be fab!
  20. I am a tough nut to crack...bipolar, with the sometimes severe lack of motivation and focus that can entail, plus I have Crohn's, with fatigue as my main symptom, also going through all kinds of super-stressy life stuff, like divorce and job hunting. Oh, and I tend towards S.A.D. anyway, plus living in clammy grey (but beautiful) Seattle. Let's just say I don't exactly bounce out of bed and greet the day sometimes. This is not a magic elixir, but, really, what woild be?? The sharper vision is noticeable, even hours later. The "white noise" in my head increases...my brain buzzes, like it does in meditation or when I'm really absorbed in doing something. I also noticed that when I DO get myself doing something useful, I see it in a different way. Like yesterday, instead of just applying for jobs, I also reorganized my resume a bit and wrote a cover letter with a different focus. When I was cleaning, I got out some storage boxes and put my summer things away so I had more space. It's like I see how to do things differently? Or feel like doing more than the minimum? I also thought I got more absorbed, so it seemed like time passed more quickly. If I were naming this stuff, I'd call it "In The Zone". I remember reading that there IS no phero that would give energy, plus there is apparently no anti-procrastination phero, so I'm out of luck on that. Darn. But considering what could reasonably be expected, I think this works great. Way better than I would have thought. And as I said, I'm a tough nut to crack. 2 questions: Is there an LP scent that IS intended to build energy? The combo might be perfect for me. And can I use this every day??
  21. Best wishes, you guys!! Just got my package, with a full-bottle Mega Watt spray, 60% alcohol, 40% oil. 3 sprays to chest and things got noticeably glittery and sharper, and I felt more focused. Now I just need to shift my focus from screwing around to job applications. More than an hour later, and things still look sharp, like when I get new contacts. My preliminary conclusion would be: with a tiny bit of a push in the right direction, I bet this stuff is great. Will report back.
  22. I got a free sample of this very early on, and I love this scent so much, that when I saw a bottle on Artfire, I scraped my pennies together and ordered it. It's just as lovely as I'd remembered. Crap, I keep forgetting about the phero and smelling myself. I put some on thinking to get a couple of family members to open up a tad, and ended up being the one spilling all kinds of things...you know, the kind of stuff that maybe would be better unspoken, or that maybe is better out in the open....and you're not really sure which? Anyway, so now it's out there, we'll see how that all turns out, I guess. Note to self: if you want to smell this, lock yourself away from others first. The phero works. AND am I correctly recalling that the TMI phero is even MORE truth-inducing than True Confessions? 'Cause this seemed entirely quite more than adequate to me!!
