  1. There is ONE bottle left of this. Talk me in or out of it. I don't think I want to smell like bananas, but so many said it didn't on them. If you still have it, how did your bottle age? (I could justify getting it for the label alone!)

  2. I have an uneasy relationship with honey scents in general. I think I want to like them because they're deemed to be sexy, but on me, most I've tried just amp and amp and get loud and screechy and are overwhelming. Fragrances such as Sugared Honeycomb and OCCO SLF (which appealed to me for the coolness factor of the name alone) were huge fails. I own a full sized bottle of OCCO Gold but rarely reach for it.

At the suggestion of (I think) Stacy, or it might have been Halo, I tried The honey fairy cake, and although I like it enough to keep it, just like with OCCO Gold, I don't wear it often.

So, it surprised me that I even ordered a trial vial of Phero Girl. But, I'd read enough comments about it here and there to where it was worth a go.

Here's the thing, sometimes people say how honey scents smell like baby powder, or a 'baby' scent on them. This never happened for me, and it is a shame because some baby powder scents are very appealing to me. Its like when a fragrance is described as powdery I know it could go either way, as far as liking it or not.

What I found was Phero Girl does dry down slightly powdery, (OCCO Gold and the Honey Fairy cake do not) and when layered with Noco white, it is even more baby powder (ish), and together make up one of the best fragrances I've worn in a long time!

I first discovered the combo when experimenting with the trial vial. I put some on, and then tried a dab of OCCO White on top, and it smelled sooooo good on me, but I knew it was probably too much cops. So, I ordered a full size of Phero Girl, and also Noco White, and it is yummy perfection. I just smell so good! Really really good. Trust me, you'd like to be sitting near me right now :)

ETA I also love it paired with LPO. For me, it is what LPO 'needed'. I don't get the baby scent, but still think I smell pretty much divine with this combo too!

  3. The goats milk bath soap (Muse of Main St) is one of the most luxurious, and silky moisturizingly(probably not an actual word) comforting soaps I've ever used, and that's not even talking about the scent, which is divine! My skin is so dry year round, and when in the dead of winter, like we are now, I'm usually so uncomfortable after a hot shower! You know how it is, a hot steamy shower feels good while you're in there, and then once you're out, its all itchy burning unhappy skin (at least for me). NOT the case with this soap. True, it is soap, it can only do so much, but it does not dry me out, and it just feels so good!

I love the scent, it is not overpowering, and is yummy!

  4.

So does anyone have a favorite label or any guesses as to perfume notes? That's always the fun part. :)

I think my favorite label is Mark's Girl Nip - it channels my inner Cat Woman and is reminiscent of the incredible Julie Newmar. :purr:

    JulieNewmar.jpg

When I was 9 or 10, I would have given anything to get to wear a catsuit like hers Heck, TODAY I'd still love to wear one!

I am going to be broke.

Me too. It is a fact.... I used to have a credit card just dedicated to vehicle expenses (still do)... I've added a card for LPMP...

Super cute CLEVER names! And, a cherry scent in particular would be very welcome in my life! I can't wait to order!

Risque Whisque most likely has a brandy facet? With some spice? Stormy Weather maybe salty ocean and ozone? Island Rain tropical aquatic? Elementary old parchment paper, and tobacco?

Regardless of the notes I will have to have Frisky Business. (so great! just the perfect name) and some Buttercream Peach and the Wild Cherry.

  5. This was so much fun to be involved with! It is my first experience requesting a PE. Mara went above and beyond with the label! She definitely knows how to make a person feel special :)

Unfortunately, when the order first arrived, I was sick with the flu, and was unable to detect what it, or anything else smelled like.

I've kind of got my sniffer back this morning. And, so far, about an hour into wearing it, the orange continues to out on top, and doesn't seem like it's planning on letting go any time soon! I'd asked for a strong scent that could cover cops or stinky pheros, and this is strong. I think I need to give my nose more time to recover from being sick.

  6. Welcome Karma!

Best wishes on your upcoming wedding :)

I too, am postmenopausal, am older than you, semi-retired, and have a boyfriend of almost 17 years now (no Valentines Day wedding planned tho)

I hope your goodies arrive in time

  7.

Yep! The shampoo bars are good for head to toe and also excellent for shaving.

Which is awesome because they're also to die for. Better scents than the typical soap/shampoo.

I noticed that although I bought the last bath bar in the Muse of Main St, (yay for me!) that there are more in that scent in the shampoo bars :)

Eve, I have used the shampoo bars on hair and skin and they're faboo!

    SOLD!

Thank you both for taking time to answer.

  8. I ordered a trial vial of this. and so far am loving it! I will report back later after I've had more time with it.

I honestly was not expecting to really like it. I mostly just had to have it for the name and the label - perhaps not the most rational reason, but, there you have it.

It is definitely unisex on me, it does not tip into a masculine scent. Happily, the patchouli does not take over, however, after I've showered, the only facet left on my skin from it is.... yep. patchouli. But. that's okay.

I find it clean, soft and comforting. I've been nuzzling my wrist quite a bit! A better description will have to wait for a later time.

  9. I'm going to look into a lot of these movies I've never seen, including "Somewhere in Time."

Wrinkle in Time was my favorite book, too! I had a leather bound cover, with maybe 4 other books, including Lion, Witch & the Wardrobe, but can't remember any of the other titles. I did buy my son a W in Time hardcover graphic novel before he was reading chapter books because I couldn't wait. It's being made into a movie now, I saw a teaser for it when I took my daughter to see Coco.

Oh, you have to watch Somewhere in Time! I will love this movie for all time! I remember buying the theme song for it, back when the movie (AND! music cd's) were new. It is now in my iTunes library.

Edited because. as usual I either can't type or spell. This time it was both :)

  10. I think the quote that circled my brain the most when I was making this collection was, "Time is the fire in which we burn."

We are indeed, consumed by time.

A few fabulous TT movies that haven't been mentioned yet, all of which reside on my shelf:

Timeline - which was a novel by Michael Crichton, but the screenplay is much better than the book. See the movie.

    The 13th Floor

    Army of Darkness

    Dead Again

Winter's Tale - these two were technically reincarnation, but time travel in feel.

    TV series:

    Quantum Leap

Flash Forward - also a great book. Series lasted one season but it was a complete story and it was great.

Outer Limits (The New Series) - Time Travel Collection

    My fave Time Travel books:

Time Out of Mind by John Maxim

The Time Ships - a sequel to HG Wells Time Machine, written by Stephan Baxter

ALL the early works of Lynn Kurland

I actually loved the book version of Timeline too!

But, my first favorite, and perhaps my most favorite of all books from childhood is Madeleine L'Engle's A Wrinkle in Time - can't leave that one off the list! I was only about 8 when it was first published, but read it while it was still pretty new as I was an early reader. I still remember the cover of the copy I had from the library, it had these concentric circles around each of the children. The book that has resided on my shelves for many years does not have that one, but rather a centaur with the kids riding on its back and a rainbow in background.

Like the Tardis, this one zigs and zags through time and space in a somewhat nonsensical way, and couldn't be nailed down to just one year. I tried to give the label the air of a 1950's style postcard, using the Mayan Calendar as a stamp.

The scent is along the lines of the beloved beverage called Horchata....made with cream, nut and rice milks, and flavored with nutmeg, cinnamon, cocoa powder, hot pepper...so in the end, it has a similar vibe to Egg Nog when in perfume form, with a lightly spiced and cocoa powder edge. Yummy!

In this part of the world, Horchata is considered a Latin American drink, but the origin is Spain, but not Spanish. Horchata owes it's origin to the Muslim/Moorish civilization inside Spain circa roughly 1,000 - 1,200 A.D.

My bad! In my first comment, I thought it was the orient, the Mayan calendar just didn't register. In my defense I was hurriedly scrolling through the new releases via my phone. I think I'm going to have to order this! (already have one in for a couple of the others). THANK YOU for boosting me, Mara, but I certainly don't think I earned it, as I didn't get the correct geography with this one!

Edited because it seems I still can't spell!

  11. Amazing labels! The theme and individual names are intriguing. Im assuming it is time travel, or could be a retrospective... Somewhere in Time might contain a tea or oriental spices note.

1969... well, Im old enough to where I actually remember when people said things like psychedelic and far out. So, Im guessing a hippie vibe with patchouli and some floral, as a salute to Flower Power? Make Love not war, man!

As for the rest (there are so MANY! wow!) I cant wait to read the notes. Each and every label is beautiful, but Im sure the true work of art will be found inside the bottles :)

Im typing this on my iPhone which is so tedious, and have to leave for the airport in a bit, so thats the extent of my guesses for now.

Edited to add... Mara, yes, happy ALL to all! You so effortlessly reach across geographical space, no wonder your potions will speak to us from dimensions in time.

  12. I have this in the Unscented (90/10) spray. It is great for selfies! For the most part, I haven't noticed much effect on myself when I wear pheromones, but Levitation is one that has an immediate elevating quality - for that reason alone I will always have this on hand. (LFM can also give me selfies, but it's more hit or miss. with Levitation, so far at least, it is guaranteed lift-off!)

I have a hard time judging how various social pheromones I wear affect others whom I come in contact with, because people generally are nice to me. I don't want to come off like I'm saying everybody loves me, because that definitely is not true. but, it's nice for me to be able to feel so uplifted, it's amazing how mood altering it is!

  13. Ugh! I hate having to come back and amend my original review, but, when I put on a more reasonable amount, instead of just a dab, this keeps growing sweeter and sweeter on me. The spice does not back down, but it doesn't hold the sweetness in check either. Maybe it is the mulberry? I don't know as I have no previous experience with this note in fragrances. I tried layering it with another scent I own that is predominantly lime, hoping some "tang" would be the answer, but that was not a success either. I've got two full bottles on the way - actually out for delivery today. I think I'll let them rest for a while, and revisit after I've taken a break and worn another category of fragrance for a while.

This really is a great fragrance, definitely worth trying. But some facet of it is not quite compatible with my skin chemistry. You know the old saying "its not you, its me" ? Well, I don't think its Boo Berry's fault, it's mine. If it would stay like it does when first applied, it would be all all time favorite for me. Very very sad...
