I am really trying to hunt down the old recipes from 2009 and forward to try to reproduce some of those older ones that people especially loved.

    I appreciate your input! xoxox

This made me run and open my spell potions box, to peep if I have any 2009 spell variants. I don’t think I do, except maybe a Love Drawing one that I don’t see a date on. But something I found in that box - Egg Nog Riot! If it’s in that box, it’s a spell potion!

@Eastwood22 - I've been thinking of what happened to your son; I agree that young people are resilient and my son will eventually move on from it.  I think the hardest part for him is that all of the reminders of his childhood are gone except his memories, and that's a lot to process.  But he seems to be doing better day by day.  We're moved into our semi-permanent housing now and I think that will be beneficial for our mental health in the long run.  Much love right back to you and yours! :kisses:

@citrine - that is very sweet of you to offer, but no worries.  I appreciate your kindness. 💖

One mistake I recently made, he had kept a big Lego transformer looking guy of some kind, because it was partially melted. I didn’t realize that what it was when I was cleaning the mantle and found what I thought was an abandoned Lego project, and I put it outside on the free pile I have in front of my house. (Lots of foot traffic here, and there’s a sign “Help yourself!”) He saw it and was bummed. If he wants to keep some random charred trash as a reminder, let him! Maybe print out some pictures from his digital backstory and place them around the new digs?

I recently heard a clutter clearing expert reflecting back to when she wished her house would catch fire and she could start anew. No one who’s been through it would wish it on anyone, let alone themselves! But it does help to pair us down to our true values.

I’m glad you’re getting settled in now. Get some rest!

  3. @Mila we all have different skin chemistry, so that might never change for you. Trust me, as a long time LP fan, I’m sometimes relieved when stuff doesn’t work! I can’t actually own them all, so I’m fine with some things turning just awful on me. You don’t need to try to force it, you can always trade/sell it on the trade boards. You want to enjoy what you’re wearing!
Sometimes I’ve read about notes smelling different on reviewers skin at different times of the month. There’s no way I would have patience / insight / time to figure that out myself. If something doesn’t work, I just put it aside for 3-6 months. I’ll try it again then, and if it doesn’t appeal to me, I’ll add it to my trade list.

Some reviewers mention in other threads mention that scents get softer/sweeter after sitting in a bottle, and some say that theirs get less sweet. Wonder what's the expert opinion in terms of what is a usual change in scent with aging?

There’s no specific rules in this department, just generalities, depends on the scent. For instance, citrus tends to soften over time. Most scents become more than the sum of their parts over time, whereas you might be able to pick out individual notes more easily in the beginning. Again, this is just a vague generalization. Every perfume and how it reacts over time and with your individual chemistry is unique.

  4. @luna65 thank you so much for taking the time to update us.
I know I mentioned it on the forum before, I returned to my house from a camping trip two summers ago to a fire truck in front of my house. The fire started with my son’s mattress, from the vape pen that was hidden between it and the box spring. So it started in his room and traveled, but he especially lost all of his stuff. Kids are resilient and in a year or so, this just might be another funny story that he tells his friends. 🤞🏼
I am sorry that you have also had losses in your family. It seems like too much at once! Clearly the universe has an abundance of confidence in your ability to handle all this stress and loss, as do we. I’m sure you have a ton of helpers IRL, make sure you lean on us too, at least to decompress/ process.
    Love you!

  5. I have exactly none of these, but this is what I’ve gathered from a quick search….

Sun gold Mocha, Miss Autumn, Floofy, Coffee and a Cigarette, Q&Q's Delicious Wood, Menage A Trois, Burnished Cacao, Cerise Cacao, Orchidelirium Cacao, Sungold Cacao

I think these are Luna’s, not sure -

Release the Hounds, Any Color You Like, S’more than a Feeling,

Does anyone have any of these? Even sniffles?

  6. @Mila it’s one bottle oil (1/3 oz of oil) poured into a 1 oz perfume bottle, then fill the rest of the way with perfumer’s alcohol. That gives you the throw of the spray with the longer lasting oil on your skin. Mara sells the 1 oz bottles separately so you have this option.
Here’s a thread with all kinds of math and science regarding pheros and ratios and whatnot. I know phero ratios isn’t your question, but it might be a question you ponder soon!

  7. I wore some original LAM Vanilla & Honey with Wicked today because I finished my OCCO Vanilla after just one roll….

I did not like the smell at first, it wasn’t working for me, but of course it settled down. I’m guessing I was smelling the pheros, but I wasn’t smelling the cops. But! Damn I got a lot done today! I hyperfocused on my happy chores….

  8. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!

Do not wear this if you want to be alone. I wore it last night to work as usher/ guest services at a show. (The Last Waltz at the Fox In Oakland.) My job is basically to smile and point, also not let people burst out upper balcony doors and jump to their deaths. Pretty easy stuff, no talking required.

I was a virtual magnet for staff and other ushers, who had 99 excuses to talk to me. This included asking me about random products I’d recommend, and then asking me to text them the link from my phone. A runner for the band found his way up to me and after a while said “I’d stay up here with you all night but I have to bring the band their dinner.” Um, okay. Go do your job plz. I wouldn’t have cared except I planned on listening to an online course on my earbuds during all the down time, and I spent it all saying “no thank you” to candy and beverage offers from random strangers, and denying that I could be found on social media.

LOL, I keep hearing the Bruce Springsteen song.

@Anonymous2F’s post looking for Hungry Heart sent me over here, and I was surprised that Hungry Eyes was the song that popped up. I will have Hungry Heart in my head for at least an hour now.

    Soft pink powdery sexiness🤤🤤🤤

Yup! I have a FB spray of 2018, so I wasn’t in a rush for sampling this trial. But I like it even more than the 2018! I’ve never been much of a “pink” perfume girl, but this is really lovely. The musk and myrrh are more subdued, the overall impression is silly for sure! The white musk in the GT I have feels more grown up than I generally feel, kind of a “fake it til you make it” scent for me. This is more like I’m Goldilocks and I found the Gossamer Threads bed that’s “just right.” Who knew Goldilocks was so posh?

Yes! I am an LP Blue FIEND, and I love Mtoto too. Exactly. It’s not like LP Blue or OCCO Blue, but it does have that yummy boy smell element to it too. I find it super cozy, warm, fuzzy, sweet, oak-mossy, soft, comforting, and an easy “go-to” for a no-brainer day when I don’t want to spend a lot time matching my mood or intent to the * PERFECT* LP, and just want to smell really good really FAST! 😁 I reach for it a lot those times and also for No Phero days. It’s a lovely soft “staple” fragrance. I pull it out on cold days too because of the Hygge vibe I think it’s perfect for.

Sometimes I just want to yell “Not Crazy!” like Mick Jagger telling John Mulaney that he’s not funny. Thanks for this opportunity!

    Not funny

  12. I grabbed my trial of Moonage Daydream, just for the name today, I forgot it had Balm Bomb in it. A bass player that I love and respect, Robin Sylvester, died about a month ago. The band I saw on Halloween dedicated Major Tom to him. He’s especially on my mind tonight as tomorrow I’m going to see a band that he is normally in. He was the perfect English gentleman, this scent and the BB would’ve suited him.

  13. Confession- I bought a FB of this along with the trial, and I meant to give it to my man. All he got was the trial! My daughter had oral surgery at the beginning of this week, and her braces put on Thursday, and I’ve been wearing it a lot. The Teddy BB obviously calms everyone down, but I really like this scent on me. She loved Howl with Teddy BB for bedtime snuggles when she was younger, but I wasn’t crazy about the scent on me, although she loved it.

Feather in the Wind w/ B2.2 has been on my bedside table through all the warm months, last winter that spot was held mostly with NOX: Nyx w/Teddy BB. I’m thinking Spike and Thorn will takeover for the cold months. On me, the smoke is very subtle, which I am thankful for. Elume and Allumette were not received well by my picky man. He’s on his way home and I’m going to reapply and gauge his reaction.

13 year old daughter is now leaning on me….

The lemon is fresh. Then, there's a bruised lemon rind, kissed with a flame, and aged in a crock of sugar (scented sugar and sweet rinds!).

    This is a delightful celebration!

This is such a good description, I won’t even bother! I didn’t think I could possibly need another lemon scent, I even have two unopened Fairy Cake Lemons hidden away, and ordered two Sunshine Brûlée’s not long ago. But this is really different! The lemon is fresh and bright, but @Wanderlust nailed it with the “kissed with a flame,” the copal chaser sets it apart. I do love my buttercreams but there’s no reason to add anything here, it’s lovely as is. Interestingly, my man immediately said “it’s got black licorice in it,” I wouldn’t get the anise at all if I wasn’t looking for it, but he’s got those super powers.
