I think the lemon has gone a bit "plasticky" with age (or maybe it's my skin chemistry), because it's a little sharp initially. The drydown, however, is to die for!! It's creamy and sweet, but not necessarily in a desserty way. There's a hint of lemon still, but it's soft and doesn't scream "citrus"; it adds depth and character to the sweet creamy ambery marshmallow. There's something about it that feels "clean" - maybe it's the peppermint and lemon? I get a hint of peppermint but no licorice at all on my skin. I like to put this on early in the morning, so that by the time I leave the house the "plastic" lemon has dried down nicely. Great longevity (8 hours) and quite strong!
  2. HipGrrl, is Gotcha in stock? I remember I wanted to try it, but I could never find it during Pherotine. Just looked and I still couldn't find it...am I missing something?
  3. I was gone for a while - my personal computer crashed (didn't want to go on forums on my work computer) and I had some health issues, but now I'm back! Lately I've been wearing Sensual Harmony, Pie in the Sky (I love this one), and LP Red a lot, with the latter two occasionally layered with LFM. I love the sweet desserty scents! They just make me happy. Still getting used to LP Red, though... I think maybe I amp the rose and patchouli? Sadly, I don't get much of the "sexy cinnamon bun" smell described in the reviews, more of a brown sugar rose patchouli smell. Which is still good, but I want to smell like a sexy cinnamon bun! 😋 Highlights of my LP usage in the last few months: I have noticed that two of my mentors at work are especially affected by LFM. On days when I wear more than a tiny dab, they'll actually seek me out, multiple times, even, and we'll just talk for half an hour. Both of these mentors are very kind, fatherly types, so maybe they EST makes them want to be helpful? Also, right after applying Gypsum White with Lace in the bathroom, a lady just walked up to me, apropos of nothing, and said, "I just wanted to let you know that you're VERY pretty!" I NEVER get complimented on my looks by strangers, and I was just looking like my normal self. It was definitely the Lace! And last, I've joined the ranks of those who wear LPs to bed. At first I thought, "Why wear it if I'm only going to be smelling it the 15 minutes I'm still awake?" But there's nothing like falling asleep to Warm and Toasty and smelling that vanilla skin scent in the morning. I swear I sleep better with LPs!
  4. This is lovely. I normally don't like florals, but this is so smooth and creamy and all around wonderful. Something about the floral note or maybe the sweetness combined with the floral reminds me a bit of Gypsum White. LFM always makes me feel confident, but this scent makes me feels refined and ladylike. I really like the creamy vanilla and sandalwood base, so I tried layering it with Pie in the Sky and it's gorgeous too! It's so creamy and comforting but there's still that floral note that says, "I'm a lady." If Sensual Harmony is like an elegant but comfortable LBD, this combo is like wearing your favorite soft jersey dress with flats. I might have to get a full bottle of this once I use up my trial vial...
  5. Saw this on the frontpage, which inspired me to revisit it! I'm getting much better separation of the notes now, with a fresh apple with a sugary fruity background (instead of a one-note super sugary candied apple, like I was getting before). The first time, I tested it straight out of my mailbox. Oops! I didn't know about travel shock then... I applied on dry skin and lotioned skin. On dry skin, I got more blue raspberry, roughly equal to the apple, and more sweetness. On lotioned skin, I got a crisp apple dusted with a spicy, ever so slightly smoky amber, with a candylike blue raspberry providing some sweetness in the background. And even though it's a spicy apple, it's not apple pie foodie spicy.
  6. Halo and Snoopyace, that makes a lot of sense! I wear fragrances pretty close to my skin on work days, but he might've gotten a whiff of it. Or maybe I was smiling because Pie of the Sky just smells so damn good. I am learning just how powerful Mara's perfumes are!
  7. Thanks for the welcome, Ivysaur! Yes, I'm excited about Sensual Harmony. I'm letting it rest off its travel shock right now, but I couldn't resist a sniff and I think I'm going to love it. I have a trial of Bosom Bows with G2 that I've tested once. I did find it calming, and I'll have to try it out some more. I'm using LFM for work right now - it makes me feel like a badass queen-of-the-world and it makes my coworkers extra helpful. :) Good point about applying on clean skin. I've found that I can pull out different notes by applying on skin that is dry/moisturized/moisturized with silicone-containing lotion. It could be a good tool to help fragrances work with my chemistry that otherwise wouldn't.
  8. Reviewing the 2010 version, a sample gifted by ivy_fiddlefox. The coconut is very strong at first, almost overpowering. Within seconds it dries down to a soft coconut cream. If I sniff closely, I can get a hint of spices - a bit of nutmeg, maybe? Nothing sharp though, and I'm getting just the lightest bit of graham cracker. The graham cracker intensifies over time, and is almost...salty? I don't know how else to describe it! The best part is about a half hour later, once it really blends with my skin to make this soft, creamy skin scent. It feels cuddly and comforting, like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket. This is when it gets addicting, and I can't stop sniffing. It's wonderful that this is still so lovely nearly a decade later!
  9. Just picked up my order from my mailbox today! :D
  10. I have been doing some "experiments" with fragrance notes and longevity with dry/moisturized skin and with different moisturizers. In the course of my research, I came across this article: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19245452 I found it interesting that they didn't observe much chemical transformation of perfume. So it suggests that the differences we smell from the same batch of fragrances has to do with our skin holding on to or "eating" some fragrance components preferentially. It would be interesting to test the same fragrance on the same skin at different pHs (by swabbing with baking soda or washing with soap to make skin more alkaline, or swabbing with something like aspirin maybe? to make skin more acidic. Aspirin instead of something like vinegar or lemon juice because those have an odor of their own).
  11. Warning: possibly TMI. I think I just had some natural copulin hits. It's about 2 weeks after my TOM, and yesterday, multiple random guys started talking to me out of nowhere at the grocery store. This NEVER happens to me. I am very much a woman on a mission when I'm shopping! Today, a guy was holding the door of my apartment open for me. I ended up checking my mail in the foyer instead (picking up my LPs! :)) and he waited there for 20 seconds, like he was a doorman or something!, for me to finish gathering my mail. Both times, I wasn't wearing any pheros at all, just a very light swipe of Pie in the Sky. And I wasn't dressed well, either, so that can't account for it. I think these might be ovulation/copulin hits? I feel like reading all the phero reviews on this forum has made me so much more observant. But how are these guys even registering the cops? It's single digits here and I'm wearing a massive winter coat! Have you ladies ever noticed people reacting to your natural cops? I want to hear your stories!
  12. So I put on LFM again with Creamed Honey, again on chest and left wrist. I applied slightly more than the first time, but certainly no more than the equivalent of an 1/2 inch swipe total. A very tiny amount, so I don't think I used too much? I didn't get great responses this time. Well, I did feel like people treated me with maybe a little more respect and deference? In a "she knows her stuff" kind of way. One guy at work (who I'm usually pretty friendly with) barely talked to me, though we saw each other several times. He's senior to me, so maybe he felt like I was a bit too "alpha" that day? It's funny, because I would never consider myself "alpha" or "beta"...I'm more independent, in a "I don't want to boss you around, but there's no way in hell you're going to boss me around" kind of way, said with a sweet smile, of course. But I DID get great self effects. I was striding down the halls at work like I owned the building. It wasn't an arrogant vibe, more like, "I'm awesome and I know it." I just felt really confident, like I could handle anything. I also felt really competent and good at my job, which is important, because I get impostor syndrome sometimes. Also somewhat interesting: I have never gotten a "sexy" vibe from LFM. No signs of attraction and no "I'm so sexy" self effects. I think this is a matter of congruence here, since I've only tested it out at work. I'm in "work mode," so I'm not putting out flirty vibe, and I'm not thinking "sexy", so no effects on others or myself. Instead,it feels like a more feminine, "softer" Swimming with Sharks (or at least how I imagine Swimming With Sharks would be like, from reading the description - I have some in my next order!)
  13. Thanks for the tips, Heather and Kayla. Definitely helpful. Whenever I visit family, they have to hide their Costco sized box of dryer sheets in the basement, ha! I've been wearing Creamed Honey for the past few days and am really liking it. I felt inspired to give perfume another try, so I tried some commercial perfumes I have (Lancome La Vie Est Belle and Estee Lauder Pleasures) and both just smelled so pungent and made me feel kind of sick (though they had amazing longevity...in this case, not a good thing). Whereas Creamed Honey feels so soft and sweet and natural-smelling in comparison. I really like the sweet creamy honey vibe. I'd like to try BAM Sugared Vanilla and Honey if it weren't for the cops! I made my second order, and will be geting trials of Sensual Harmony and LP Red along with some last minute Pherotine bottles. And ivy_fiddlefox is very kindly and generously sending me some samples. So I have a lot of olfactory experimentation ahead. Excited. :)
  14. Ahhh, I know! There are so many scents that sound incredible in the reviews. I'm going to ease into fragrances, though; a lot of scents don't work for me, so I'm cautious. Fabric softener, for instance, always makes me sneeze. And a lot of florals, aquatic notes, and sharp cologney scents give me headaches. I know, I'm picky. 😐 I' also very sensitive to caffeine, so maybe my body chemistry is just finicky in general. A few things I do like: Sweet ambers. A housemate of mine used to use BBW Sensual Amber shower gel and the bathroom always smelled nice. Fruity, fresh scents. Like the smell of a nice shampoo. Vanilla. I actually synthesized vanillin acetate (a molecule similar to what you get in vanilla extract) for a lab class way back in college. I think we were supposed to throw it away, but I kept it in my lab drawer and sniffed it occasionally. I'm open to any recommendations! Surprisingly, I don't know anyone at work who wears perfume. Maybe because I work a sciencey job? So I am trying to keep it very light and subtle right now, close to my skin like a lotion or body wash. I've been using Creamed Honey very lightly and I'm still worried it's too much! Maybe my skin is the opposite of the skin that "eats perfume?" Now I'm just imagining a little cartoon of my skin saying, "I do not like green notes and LAM, I will not eat it Sam I Am! I will not eat with a fox, I will not eat in a box..." Thanks for all the welcomes everyone! Y'all are so nice.
  15. Thanks oceanjewel! Since I see lots of people are using their welcome threads as semi-journals, here's what I'm thinking my for my next order: Open Windows Pherotine LFM Pherotine (Love this stuff already, it's like me, but better) SWS Pherotine Trials: LP Red, Sensual Harmony with LFM I might get 2 of each to get the 10% discount at $100, but I need to figure out my budget first. And I use so little each time, just one of these might last a year. Also they are work-oriented blends so these are totally an investment, right?
  16. Hi everyone! I first discovered pheromones when looking for a way to get over my terrible interview anxiety. I was unhappy at my job, had an interview coming up for a better one, and desperately needed a confidence boost. Breathing exercises, Wonder Woman poses, visualization, I tried them all. The pherotalk forums popped up in the search results, and I thought, "Why not? It's worth a shot. There's a guarantee after all." I'm not sure if the pheros worked, because I still felt pretty nervous, but I got the new job! A few months later, I tried to go to the Androtics forums to ask a question. I was shocked to find that they'd shut down. Even though that was really shady, the idea of pheros still intrigued me. I had read about people using pheros to lift their mood on bad days, to find the energy and confidence to get through difficult situations, and to generally spread sweetness and light wherever they went. That sounded incredible! I wanted that. So more googling led me here, and I've been obsessively reading the forums. Everyone here is so kind and helpful, and I love that the majority of posters here are women, and that's there's so many reviews and different scents! I was still a little wary after my Androtics experience, so I bought a Pherotine of La Femme Mystere to test. And I got noticeable hits on my first try, with only a couple tiny dabs, not even a drop! I'm sold. And I'm definitely going to get some more pheros before Pherotine is over! Now I just have to decide... I've never been big on fragrances, because a lot of them make me sneeze, but I was fine with the fragrance samples LPMP kindly included in my order. So I'm going to be exploring perfumes for the first time too. So hello everyone! I'm excited to play around with more perfumes and pheros!
  17. It went well! Here's my report: (posted in the LFM review thread) Creamed Honey got very sweet on me after a few hours. Maybe a little too sweet? I took a shower (although admittedly, I didn't scrub my wrist) and could still smell a bit of it on my wrist. I will have to use in teeny little doses.
  18. My first order and my first phero test! I wrote this up early this week but am just now getting around to posting. ------ I wore two small dabs of LFM (lower neck/cleavage and left wrist) with Creamed Honey. I think I got 2-3 hits today. 1) I had a meeting with my work semi-crush (can't decide if it's just respect/enjoying working with him or an actual crush) and the meeting went over by 20 mins. It was kind of weird because we had short lulls when it would have been normal to end the meeting, but he didn't, just kept talking or waited for me to say something. I was the one who ended the meeting, and I wonder how long it would have gone on if I hadn't. Possible hit? 2) A guy at work who I think might? have a thing for me came over 3 times to talk to me. One of the times was DEFINITELY an excuse. The third time was the weirdest. Him: Did you get the invite to [work event]? Me: Yeah. Him: Should I go? Me: I don't even know if I'm even going to go. Do whatever you want! Him: But what if I want you to decide for me? Me: Wat? ........OMG IT'S THE LFM! Weird, but definite hit! 3) An older guy was very friendly and helpful and at one point just walked up to me and stood there smiling until I acknowledged him (was working on something at the time). It was only for a little bit, and maybe he was just happy that day, but it still felt a little out of the ordinary. No one told me I smelled good. Oh well. And no hits from women, although I'm closer with the girls at work, so maybe they know me too well to be affected? Self effects: I didn't get any extremely noticeable self effects, but I did feel more confident and well-spoken. This might be placebo, though. I also felt more awake and alert. I didn't notice any crazy effects, like some of you ladies were describing (thank you everyone for those awesome reviews! they were so helpful and are the reason why I chose LFM for my first order!) but I know that I'm unlikely to get crazy effects with two small dabs. This works! I need to order some more pheros now!!!
  19. I LOVED how it started out! The honey really came through, a delightful rich creamy honey that you could just sink into. It dried down a sweet, but clean smelling floral, with a hint of honeyed cream if you sniffed REALLY close to my skin. Definitely something I could wear to work, although I'm a little sad that no one will smell the honey. I'm going to wear this tomorrow to work with La Femme Mystere. My first phero test ever! I'm excited! This is the first honey scent I've ever tried, so I'm definitely going to have to check out some of the other ones!
  20. I just got a sample of this with my first ever order! I can smell the apple and something else fruity (must be the raspberry) in the bottle, but it reads "candle" on me - I can't wear more than a tiny dab of it. I think the apple is coming through super-super-sugary on my skin and that's overriding all the other notes. It reminds me of Christmas. It's a nice comforting scent for hanging out at home in the winter.
