What is D5?

There's a few posts about it. It's a bit complicated and I'm about to log off, but if you look in the Phero Girl Cougar potion thread in the Reviews section you will find a pretty thorough explanation. I want some because I hope applying it beneath my perfumes will stop my skin "eating" them and keep them truer.

Likewise, I don't disclose. However, I don't necessarily hide it either.

I'm not sure it's a big deal. Pheros can't make someone be attracted to you, pheros just give you an extra few per cent, which you can then capitalise on, 90 per cent of it is in your attitude. Additionally, a lot of commercial (beauty counter type) perfumes have pheros (like Paris Hilton's hideous concoction) - admittedly probably less pheros than we use. Some level of phero use, conscious or unconcsious is a lot more common than most folk think.

Is there any chance of making some of the unscented D5 available with the new releases? I'm not worried about it being in a beautiful bottle or wornderfully labelled or anything. But I am itching to get my hands on some and would like to combine packages.

I'm so sorry the LP Pink didn't work for you! It is one of my personal favorites for daytime "fun" wear, so sweet and innocent in appearance

 

We really should do an organized testing of D5, layering it with those scents our skin devours, and post feedback. I'm interested in seeing such results. And, I will be rejoicing so loudly about positive results! I devour almost every scent!

I wish my skin just "ate" LP Pink. But it does horrible barbaric things to it instead...

Ah, so Cougar perfume does not have that base? I thought it was all the pheros.

Have you tried Summer of Sin yet? It is very yummy and rich.....

I'm tempted but as everyone says it smells like high end sun tan lotion I am worried it might get "lost" at a holiday resort where everyone smells of high end tanning lotion.

I might ask for a sample as my forum special when I next order though.

No, the base is not DPG. The base is D5, which is one of the ingredients in "liquid silk" bases......it is used in "dry oil" sprays to give them that dry silky feeling.....

Yes, the phero perfumes have a different base to the others. It's unlikely you are allergic to it, but as you know you can be allergic to anything!

This stuff just has sooooo much staying power, also......after all of the talk about it yesterday, I decided to put a little bit on before bed......this morning, I can STILL smell it.....a light honey scent with a hint of floral (almost floral) in the background.....loving it.....

After reading this thread I put some on before I retired too... and I still smell of honey!

Well, if you can't wear it on your skin, you can always continue to wear it in your hair.....the pheros disperse pretty well that way.....just rub it on your hands and run them through your hair......that way, it won't be wasted......

Have you tried the Cougar without the perfume? Worth a go for the phero benefits, also to rule out you are not troubled by the carrier solution which is different to non-phero perfumes - have you tried any of the other LP phero blends? Were you ok with those?

It's always worth ruling out you are not allergic to the base solution.

I love, love, love Sugared Honeycomb. It's been consistently in my top five since it was released. It's just glorious stuff!

The boozy notes don't usually stick around too well on me......Bumbo's booze left me after about an hour.....I had to re-apply that one.....my skin REALLY sucked it up.....booze, fruit, and all.....

I'm still so looking for my summer holiday blend - I want two actually a day time perfume and a sexy evening one. :)

I'm longing for my holiday and consoling myself with shopping and planning!

Well....I wore CP yesterday to the parade, had a few cocktails, feelin' kicky and carefree and who do I run into? the guy I was freakin' about a month or two ago, I was feelin' gu-ud', he was lookin' gu-ud, but I didn't 'cave'. We BS'd awhile, had a beer, but went our diff ways, w/diff friends, anyway! last night he left 7 msgs, where are you? was good to see u again, let's have coffee (he meant S#x), are you sleeping ? call me.... blah, blah, blah, but I went back out late last nite, awwww poor bastard . This a.m., he was at my back door, w/coffee and Sunday paper, *Hey, you smell great !*, we did the word jumble, then I caved . Liz-z-z-z-z-z

Quick tip on the Scandalous front don't rub your eyes while you have some residue on your fingers... Cinnamon + eyeballs = Ooh-errr!

OK, May, just for you......I applied 5 drops of EoW last night, then applied Dark Seductions laced wit the SS concentrate. Lets just say it was an interesting evening.

 

My sweetie and I decided to go out to dinner on the spur of the moment, with 2 older couples.....by older, I don't mean OLD, just older than us. I'd say, mid to upper 50's. One gentleman is more early 60-ish. He is the one who was sitting beside me. We were just chatting and talking, and I got up to go to the restroom. When I came back and sat down, I was talking to the lady sitting across from me (the older guy's wife), and I feel my hair slightly "moving"......I look over, and this man has a small lock of my hair, which had apparently draped across my shoulder when I turned my head, and was twirling it between his fingers and playing with it. Not pulling it or anything.....just sort of twiddling with it..... He says...."I like your hair. Very nice." Smiles with this starry-eyed look. Too funny.....pheros crack me up.

 

Anyway.....the cops/SS combo......May, try it..... My man was the Energizer bunny.....truly fabulous combo.

Well. I just put on a hoody sweatshirt I haven't worn in two weeks - I must have worn it last when filling bottles, and I am in a LOUD CLOUD of pheromones. (mmm, I really like this smell!) I can't believe how strong the scent is coming off of this fabric, weeks later! Dolly/May, can these be just as effective with the scent on your clothes as on your skin?

I know some people do apply to their clothes. You do get some heat diffusion as the clothes warm up. Oil-based pheros can last ages on clothes. I have only used sprays on clothes as I didn't want oil marks and stains.

But yes, as far as I know and in my own limited experience and reading - it does work.

I have May, and while I like it, that's just it, I "like" it and I wanted to LOVE it, perhaps I haven't given CP (scented) a fair shake. Going to a St Paty's Day parade tomorrow (Irish Steel Worker, oooooo....ahhhhhh), I'll give it another go. Wish I had checked out the unscented blends first, I didn't realize the difference till after I purchased (impulsively as usual ). liz

Give it another go Liz... I love the stuff because it makes me feel so great. If it puts a twinkle in my eye then that alone will probably have an effect on others. It just makes me a happy, shiny smiley, and very flirty person.

Well, keep us updated, May! I should have tried that this morning, but hey, I am half-asleep in the mornings...I can't remember if CitriShine has a scent.

 

I'll definitely go for a roller bottle of the straight D5. None of the light airy perfumes last more than half a second on me...or maybe it's just that I like a perfume to pack a physical punch, break a few noses. Subtlety is alien to me.

 

Oops - looks like we posted at the same time. Too bad the CS didn't work. There's still hope with the pure siloxane, though!

It might work well for others though My skin is notoriously perfume-hungry...

I now have a combo of CitriShine and New Year's Evil on one forearm and CitriShine and Egg on the other (just a swipe of each).

 

Normally my skin scoffs N Y E within an hour and EGG does pretty much nothing. I can smell the Egg at the moment and the NYE smells divine (but I am biased) let's see if it lasts.

I'm afraid this hasn't worked for me. As usual I lost both within the hour... And I am GUTTED because I totally adore NYE. But it runs away from me.... It hasn't worked with the Citre shine, but I am still going to try it with the D5 proper.
