  1. Hi May!

There were Hello Kitty cartoons in the 70s and 80s. CBS had a show in the US called Hello Kitty and Friends in the really early 90's, although I don't think that many episodes actually aired. I guess she's more popular on stationary and other stuff, then on tv! I think I even remember seeing her on a credit card once; I work retail. I don't really know much about Chococat though.

I hope this helps a little!

It really does! Thanks you! :) :)

  2. I don't think I quite "get it" with all these characters. All I ever see is the image and the accessories merch - including for Hello Kitty. Is there a cartoon series or series of comic books or what?

I can see they are cute images and some, ie Hello Kitty, have almost become iconic images - which is proven by the fact I recognise it without understanding what it is about. But is there an original vehicle behind this?

I am confuzzled.... :( (and I seem to be pulling that face a lot lately...)

  3. Your loving the scent may be really good news for me... because I just received my recent LP order and realized that I goofed... and ordered the scented Cougar rather than the unscented... and My Beloved isn't a foody-scent aficionado. If you haven't ordered a full-bottle, would you be interested in mine (unopened, unsniffed, virginal as it were)

    Aww Chai

It's so sweet of you to think of me and give me first refusal! Ordinarily I would certainly take you up on the offer but I won a bottle of Cougar in this month's competition... But I am sure someone else will happily buy it or trade!

    Big hugs!

Awww, it sounds like fun! I wish we could! Thank you!

And check this out...we got an email from Gourmet.com (Gourmet Magazine's online zine) asking for a sample for review! Weeeeee!

They are going to LOVE it! It's totally adorable!

  5. Don't you DARE run an' hide May! I mean, I've got "Hot Wheels" seat covers on my truck seats (those are a brand of little kids' toy cars)...not to mention I still wear my pink Chucks, and other outrageous age-inappropriate things!! What makes it *better* is I SO Don't Care!

It was only a couple of quid on ebay and as it was white I thought it would be ironic and fun for my holiday, and if the sand and sun wrecks it - at that price it would not be too awful... .

  6. It's got a Asian influence. Smells like Carefree gum. As if I were chewing and blowing this gum in an animae poster shop. This smell is great for the twenty year olds who still collect Hello Kitty toys.

    Pretty fun and youthful smell.

*May (in her 40s) runs to hide her Hello Kitty watch....*

  7. In the Vial I sniffed this and thought " Hm...It sort of smells like clean sheets." My mom put it on before I did and on her skin it blossomed into a really pretty sweet clean scent. When I put it on, wet it smelled a touch like laundry soap, and then the EoW came out and I had about 10 minutes of serious overripe fruit smell. It then dried back down to the sweet clean smell, though it was more clean and powdery on me than it was on my mom. I've yet to wear it in public, so I'll have to report back on effects.

I think this just about sums it up for me. But it's hard to explain, but it kind of has a sparkling fizziness to it, and almost a light citrus edge, it just smell fresh and clean and bubbly.

I would not have thought I would go for this, but I like it so far - I hope it "sticks" this would be lovely on muggy days when you are feeling stale, unlovely and just ugggh....

  8. Definitely not "virginal" on me......down and dirty, all the way.......so, maybe a dirty virgin..... :)

Isn't that like being "just a little bit pregnant?" :) :)

  9. Cool - thanks for the welcome!

Yay. Someone else from the UK! Scorch I have answered your post in the Trading Section. Great to have you here. I love pyrography, I even considered giving it a go myself at one point because I love wood and treen!

It would be great to have someone I can trade samples and perfumes with - without the international postage hassles!

    Big hugs and welcome!

  10. Welcome to all the new members!!

We are all addicts here, and we are quite sure you will be too, after you try your first LP scents......it is like the crack of the perfume world..... NO KIDDING.....one try and you're hooked.....there are scents here to satisfy all tastes....light, floral, dark, sultry, foody, and now pheromones!!

I urge you all.....try a couple of samples that you might think may not be in your "preference zone".....and ALWAYS try at least ONCE the little freebie vials that the lovely Mara and Danna send you.....ALL OF THEM......I was a perfume "snob" of sorts....only certain notes had traditionally worked for me, so I never ventured out of that "zone".....BUT, I started trying everything that I was sent, at least once, and took some recommendations based on reviews, and now I am using scents with notes that I had NEVER thought I would be able to use......not all will work for you.....BUT some will definitely be a pleasant surprise...... :)

WELCOME AGAIN.....and enjoy your new purchases!!

Have to agree with Dolly, some of my favourites here have been really unexpected based on my past preferences with perfume. For example, I never thought I would like sugared scents and I now find I adore quite of few of the ones here - and I can't do without my sugared honeycomb!

  11. I was really, really pleased with this perfume. Not only is it delicious and utterly edible (but don't try it!) But it "stuck" and it "stuck" for a good long time even on my foody-perfume-devouring-skin.

At first I smelled of sugar and rich, sweet, luxury fruit preserves and jelly - then later the buttery smell of soft and crumbly melt-in-the-mouth pastry comes through and starts to bloom and take over.

This is really divine and I am soooo glad to find a food scent I can actually wear and keep on my skin for more than minutes!

    Thank you ladies!

  12. Hi everyone! *waves* I, too, wandered over here from the BPAL forums. After much waffling, I made my first order on March 1st and am anxiously awaiting it!

As for me, I'm a Phantom of the Opera fan (as if you couldn't tell by the name!), though more of the book than anything else. I love to read, write, act, sing, and stalk the internets for more pretty smelling things! ;)

Hi Christine, welcome to the forums! But be warned both the forums and the perfumes are addictive!

So, come on, tell us! What did you order? ;)

  13. Stepping slowly into the spotlight....... ;)

    Hehe ;)

My name's Marci, I'm a 26 yr old perfume addict from beautiful Massachusetts (The Berkshires!). I work at a local hospital in Medical Records and am working to become a Medical Coder. I enjoy shopping, perfumes of course, organic bath & body products, listening to music, spending time with my family and friends, cooking, reading, dancing, the occasional drink, 420  , and just having fun wherever I go and whatever I do! I love blending scents and coming up with new scent ideas and I'm proud to say that a few of my scents are permanent fixtures on a few websites! I may be new here at Love Potion Perfumery, however I have been a member of MUA (Makeupalley) since 2002 with over 600 tokens, a member of Ebay since 2000 with now 1000+ feedbacks and a member of the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab forum since January of this year.

My favorite scent notes are vanilla, coconut, sugar, cake, sandalwood, amber, candy, butter, light florals (especially if they are mixed with a sweet or sugar scent) and anything basically foody, fruity, sexy or sweet.

    Thanks for reading!

    Hi Marci,

Welcome and great to meet you! You'll find everyone here very friendly and the perfumes are amazing!

I'm intrigued to find out more about the perfumes you blend - I tend to have difficulty getting foody scents to stay true.

    Best and welcome again!

  14. I went on this site, not knowing I had to make them myself, I was ready to purchase the Mango Green Tea Hamantaschen :P . I love pastry !!! liz

How's this for temptation? A lot of the recipes I found had the dreaded Orange zest in them (it doesn't seem to like me much), so I googled and found *gulp* caramel pecan filled Hamantaschen and a variation for *jibber* chocolate-filled ones.

I feel the need to bake this weekend....

  15. I think our skins are similar May...I can't get much foodie scent to stay...when I tried this I got *very* strong and realistic fruits - and fruits only for some hours...delicious! Way later on I think I caught a whiff of the "baked goods" part later on. Another one that needs the DNL warning label (Do Not Lick).

So far, and this isn't the proper test it is a yummy, fruity, sugary scent. Like lots of really good quality mouthwatering fruit conserves and jams (I think you say Jelly not Jam?)

Like those little fruit jam tarts (pies) you get (see pic - it makes me smell like these....) YUM!

  16. You are so right, Gale; this one is completely scrumptious! I get this fruity, fun smell on my skin, full of peaches and apricots. My skin really amps the fruit so the pastry is quite in the background.... which is very nice. I'm definitely getting a full bottle of this one, mainly because I really appreciate Mara and Danna contributing a portion of the proceeds for each bottle going to ChaiLifeline (Thank you, Ladies!) I'm also seriously thinking of getting a sample for each of my fellow teachers at Religous School... I think it would be a great Purim gift :)

I just tried a quick swipe of this... and I THINK it might be a foodie scent that will "stick" on me. But I've got other perfumes and unguents on, so I want to give it a fair go.

Tomorrow, I will try it properly. I hope it sticks - it smells just yummy and I so want the recipe for these cookies too!

  17. May, I love PB Dominance on My Beloved. Definitely the Oakmoss/woody smell is present; I don't get too much of the citrus on him, although I think that would be nice. As for the pheromone scent, I am one of those as of yet unschooled/inexperienced newbies and I can't pick up on it. I'm also glad he can't... that might weird him out a bit. He is very alpha, himself, though... perhaps it is a more natural smell on him?

I think I could probably initially smell them because I am sensitised to them and also because they are male pheros and I'm not a guy.

I think I read that a lot of men can't smell some of the male pheros, and that a higher percentage of women than men can detect male pheros.

I do quite like the smell of them though. :)
