  1. Being a huge Holmes fan I HAD to try this one, male scent or no. In the bottle, I got little to nothing. Wet, I got a simple, fresh, clean smell like fresh linens on fresh skin. As it's dried down I'm getting more notes like leather and tobacco and faintly musky - like a Victorian male toward the end of the day, in the drawing room smoking his pipe with a snifter of brandy or glass of whisky. The interesting thing is that it is light, and it totally works on ME. Mmm. Definitely puts me in mind of Holmes. Loving it. This is going to be my muse as I write my Holmesian novels, I can tell.
  2. JUST got this! I LOVE it! My first impression wet was lots of spice and vanilla - again, like holiday candles or maybe pumpkin spice. As it dried the vanilla amped more and now I have a lovely fruity vanilla potpourri with the barest hint of spice - like an autumnal spiced fruit compote!
  3. And now I am a Disgruntled House Elf... You know... ...I can live with that!
  4. When I was growing up in northern Middle Tennessee, it was tobacco country, and along about September or maybe October if it was a long, warm summer, they'd start moving the cut and partially dried tobacco into the barns and "firing" it - which is to say, it was smoked like a ham in hickory smoke. The hollows would fill with a blue haze of this delicious smell of tobacco and hickory smoke, accompanied by the dry/green smell of autumn leaves which would usuallly just be hitting their peak of color about then, thanks to the cold snaps that would send us reaching for our sweaters and cardigans. Bright scarlets, burgundies, oranges, salmons, all painted against a deep rich turquoise sky. The hay would be cut, the feed corn harvested; add those scents to the mix. This was the autumn of my childhood. I would adore a fragrance that could replicate those memories.
  5. I hope it's NOT bananas. I am so NOT a fan of nanners.
  6. I am currently wearing unscented Cougar and LP Black and he hasn't said a word about it. Kitty wants to nuzzle hand though (I have some LPB on my wrists).
  7. I just get frazzled. I was gonna go put on some LP Black but didn't have time. I was gonna change from capris into jeans - didn't get to do that either. Arrggghh. He's a keeper, don't get me wrong. We're not far off the 3-decade mark for our anniversary. But he def did not like the Cougar wet and evidently that stuck with him, so Cougar may be ruined for him now. Not that he's a Cougar target. He's actually a year older than me. But I want to use Cougar for my public appearances to generate that youthful, attractive image. So he needs to be able to deal with it.
  8. That sounds sarcastic but I don't mean for it to. He really is like that - when he decides he wants to go, we go NOW. I've gone off and left stuff at my parents' house when we were visiting because he got a wild hare that it was time to go and I was so frazzled I went off and forgot something.
  9. Which works ok unless he's hurrying you out the door to dinner.... O_o
  10. It may like me but evidently hubby doesn't like it. So I get dolled up in a nice summery deal with a gauze tunic and battenberg lace, capris, and sandals (WITH freshly pedicured toes!), nicely made up, and we get in the car to go eat, and I get out my scented Cougar Potion and roll a strip down each side of my throat, and a small strip on one wrist, rubbed between two. After a couple minutes hubby rolled down the car window a couple inches - and it remained that way the rest of the evening. Now it isn't exactly cool outside and the a/c is blasting so I asked him to roll up the window. He replies that ever since I sprayed (!) my perfume on, his nose burns so he has to keep the car window down. It was fine in the restaurant and outside, but not in the car - over an hour later.
  11. "Tribble Wrangler" TRIBBLE Wrangler???? I WANTSA BE A TRIBBLE WRANGLER!!!!!!! ------- Look out for the water-bearing brooms. I haz a sleepee.
  12. I hasn't fallen asleep at the desk yet... :kyrii_blue_sleep:
  13. Well, until I "make it big" as a writer, the budget for such things is limited and I tend to focus more on what's going to be "social" to help me build my career in public. Cops is more of a private sort of use, and if I have some, I don't need a whole lot more. (Besides, I'm afraid to use it out in public because I'm afraid someone will ask me why I haven't bathed in a month or something!)
  14. OK I just added a freshh application of LP Black with nothing else on but it. I get a nice deep rich vanilla, mixed with maple syrup, and hints of amber and patchouli. I guess the honeycomb and brown sugar is what comes off smelling like maple syrple to me. I dunno what Chypre is so I dunno if I'm smelling that or not. I need to go hunt that one up. EDIT: Ok so now I know what Chypre is. Since I don't know what any of the ingredients smell like except the musks, and I'm not getting anything musky yet (except maybe it's blending with the amber and patchouli) I don't guess I smell it to know it. 2nd EDIT: Ok I SO did NOT need to know what ambergris is.
  15. I STILL HAVE plenty of scent left over from last night on this fragrance! The Dark Seductions Lavender went away; there's just a HINT of Spontaneous Combustion; but LP Black is still droolworthy! I am LOVING this fragrance! And I didn't mention but I got Cougar unscented so I can layer it with stuff - and more unscented pheros on the way!
  16. This went on wet as a deliciously lavender fragrance, VERY strongly lavender. As it dried, it became something close to daffodil (I presume violet; I've never really sniffed a violet and detected a scent). Now it's softened and still smells very floral but does not seem to be evoking an allergic reaction. Spring. This is what Spring smells like. That's the best I know to describe it.
  17. No, I already have a bottle of cops so I didn't need to order any more for now. This is LP Black. I know my description doesn't sound quite exactly like the notes in it. My body chem does strange things to perfumes. I can wear a retail fragrance and it will smell on me like no one else. I just put on a couple more swipes on my chest and cleavage. It's hovering around me more than either of the other two scents I tried (Spontaneous Combustion and Dark Seductions III) almost like a cloud enveloping me so I added to it. And maybe the scent is...mocha coffee? With a hint of maple maybe...
  18. Just got my samples (smeared from wrists to elbows lol) and LP Black was the first I tried! Delish chocolate scent first - dark chocolate, my fave. Then it began going a tad less sweet and richer (not that dark chocolate is that sweet to begin with, but I wouldn't have liked it if it was any sweeter). Has mellowed out into a lovely ambery, resiny, powdery, IdunnowhatitisbutIloveit fragrance. Elegant, enticing, and rich. Totally my style.
  19. My first reaction was "CHRISTMAS CANDLES!" closely followed by Christmas cookies, lol. I never got any chocolaty scent from this one but I adore the spiciness of it. It's mellowed out now but smells like after one blows out said Christmas candles and you get that faintly smoky, still spicy, gentle fragrance that still wafts through the house. This will be my holiday fragrance, without doubt!
  20. I have now made it up to...*how am I supposed to remember my rank when it doesn't display while I post* sorcerer's apprentice, I think it is.
  21. It is 6500. That is why I said I will never be able to name myself. I've never made THAT high a number of posts on boards where I was an ADMIN.
  22. I just realized I shall never in the history of the universe be able to name my own self here...
