  1. Reading descriptiions and I had to pop over and say I'm so entranced and tempted by so many of these! I'm especially thrilled to get so many atmospheric nature scents... sampler is a must, but I'm tempted to just go ahead and grab some bottles too!
  2. Ooh, may I please reserve an Itty sampler? PEs look stunning beyond stunning..... Tyvey, HOLY SHIT WOMAN, these look amazing! And I am giggling so hard over "Banana Positions" I almost spit coffee on my keyboard!
  3. Oooh, what an awesome review(s)! Pics are great as well. Thank you for sharing!
  4. OMG!!!! I was just getting ready to post in the stalk thread last night when these beauties popped up! What fantastic art, and so many names are getting my hopes up for some summer treasures! Especially excited for Atlantic Shore and Ocean Mist... and a Topper spray!?!?! Inquiring minds will stay tuned for notes and scribing!!!!
  5. Oh, yay, StacyK, I'm so glad you're getting the amazingness too! i totally concur about the nostalgia vibe and I adore the fruit salad image! Spot on. BG, I'm so glad to see you! I think if this has an intent it's lolling around feeling like a total sex kitten... kind of in the same category as the Aphrodite potions. Or Stacy's Milfy Summer!
  6. OK, some serious woo with this potion! First off, let me say that I have little to no acquaintance with the desert. I am a New England girl (raised, if not born) and my nature is greens and woods and mountains and rivers. But when I saw the transformative nature of this one I knew I had to try it, and I'm so glad I did! I do not know how Mara achieves it, but it is beautifully salt and sand (I would not have recognized the ozone note as such, so individual is its rendering). When this goes on, it has a damp, almost creamy vibe, but very quickly in the dry down it gets dry and gives off an impression of heat that is really startling. In the longer drydown, the sandalwood starts to peek out and make itself recognizable as sandalwood, but overall, I get the impression of sand and shimmering heat.... but maybe a night time sand, releasing the heat of the day into a black sky papered with stars? Space and wind and creatures out there in the darkness. Some serious mojo here, Tink! I'm so glad you had it made!
  7. MDC, that is such a great review! To add to mine... once again, I'm fully slathered in this, and feeling like I need to have a double feature of Double Indemnity and Body Heat because I feel like I'm channeling Kathleen Turner channeling Barbara Stanwyck...
  8. SRSLY!!!!!!!! IKR? ETA: OK, I'm slathered in this, wearing my flared leopard print skirt and a black tank top. TOTAL CONGRUENCE!
  9. OH MY GODS YOU GUYS!!!!!!! Sorry for the shouting, but I'm in the midst of my first Afternoon Delight slather and whoa, Mara knocked it out of the park! It's sweet, but not tooth-hurting sweet, and the creaminess of the cocoa butter/coconut creme base is swoonworthy! A lovely deep cherry note, sweet but not candied and not going cough syrup in the slightest (which even the best cherries can do on me). It's got a fluffiness to it that in no way diminishes the richness. I love Luna's description of little winks of cherry and banana. I'd add, also little surges of marshmallow and vanilla going on too! So yummy. I don't know how Mara does it this -- it's intoxicatingly rich and huffworthy, but at the same time, it's not too strong or loud. It's not a subtle scent, but it is close-wearing so that I think one could get away with it, ahem, in (safe!) public places. I don't know what the cops load is like on this one but I am feeling much the way Moggie and OCCO SLF make me feel -- like a sprawled purring lioness soaking up the sun. Spectacular! Thank you SO much, brilliant Potion Master!
  10. Mara, my gorgeous bottles arrived the other day.... what an intriguing deep color! I am sitting on both hands to keep from opening them because I've decided to save them as my reward to myself for the semester's end, which officially comes next week. In the meantime though I can't get over how delicious they look!
  11. Oh, Tink, it sounds incredible! I am so happy that your first PE experience has already turned out so well.... and I am so excited to get my bottle of this (stupid waiting to get paid on Friday!)! Eggers, you are so right about Mara's atmospheric scents. She really just takes you there!
  12. Oh, SO MUCH FUN!!!!! yay for Luna scribings!
  13. I echo what cheesy said, and would add, you can get it by ordering a sample of Rose Dust, from the most recent New Releases... the scent is fabulously sophisticated and fun, very congruent with Pop Potion! And yes, welcome!
  14. Oh my goodness, PM, I literally squeed out loud when I saw the Me Jane reference! I am SO excited to get this! And now that I have seen the notes for Vulture I know more than ever that it must be mine, so yes please I am confirming my reservation! All the notes look amazing. Dark Wishes especially -- I can't imagine how that might smell, and I am so excited to get my sampler and find out.
  15. I read this and just about spit my coffee across the keyboard. YOU ARE THE AWESOMEST. That is all. :-) And dang it! How I wish I could get to these parties!
  16. Tink! That sounds AMAZING!!!!! I had no idea vultures were so cool, what a wonderful totem for you! I already knew that I wanted this, but now that I hear the notes, yes, yes, yes, it must be mine. Pending approval of course!
  17. Oh YAY!!!!!! What a fabulous treat to wake up to!!!! Mara, my label is making me giggle so hard! I posted in the PE ideas thread that I came across the notes and name for this in an old email draft and was mystified -- I have no memory of coming up with this idea. But clearly some corner of Blackcat's soul really needs it, so I asked the Potion Master to make it so! (And ever since ordering I keep getting that song stuck on my head!) Here is what I sent Mara: Afternoon Delight -- a summer cops cover! cocoa butter, coconut, cherry and whatever 4th note you think suits? (whipped cream/cucumber/banana/musk? :-P ) A happy slutty 70's suntan lotion vibe! I don't know if it's OK to place reservations yet, but I know that if possible I'd love to get Tink's Vulture and the Egg! Every single label and name is calling to me -- anyone else with their notes/descriptions? ETA: Oh, and please could I get a sampler?!
  18. This one is incredibly tempting! I held off from getting a bottle this round, because I know myself and there just won't be many opportunities for me to wear this.... but hot damn, for those moments this is just amazing! It's got a wonderful fizzy sparkle from the fermented alcohols, and then the smoke/vanilla/oakmoss/musk/resins just makes for a spectacularly sophisticated silken bed for the rose to dazzle from. I've never tried Pop Potion before and the selfies were fantastic. So yeah, if supplies last.... I bet this would be out of this world in a spray.
  19. Tink, I love that story so hard! Thanks for sharing your experiences -- I love hearing from others that this is working for them! I just realized today why I love this one so much; I can't believe I didn't identify before. I was sitting sniffing and meditating on the earth note and I suddenly realized -- the greenery and the earth of this totally remind me of Summer Belle, one of my all time faves! It's got exactly that same quality of sun-warmed dirt and fresh air -- and the strawberry here has the same juicy round pure fruit-ness of the melon in SB. No wonder this is making me so happy!
  20. This is a surprise delight for me! All of the notes fall into the sometimes not so great on my skin, so I wasn't expecting much. But this.... the fruit is very true, not in the least candied. The honey is perfect -- sweet and natural without being cloying. The bamboo and sandalwood anchor the foodie notes without overpowering them. I can't believe this is a cops cover!
  21. Argh! I was totally going on a no FB buy policy until I worked my way through more of my existing collection..... but Time Turner and Age of Aquarius were too compelling to miss! And then LadyV did me in with her Steamy Bikini review and I panic-bought a back up bottle (because I really need it in a spray!). And then I remembered that I had a summer PE planned, and of course THAT needed to get into the works. So yeah. No more full bottles. Except for, you know, all of these.
  22. OK, this one is a magical mystery to me! Wet in the vial, I get grasses and lemon. Wet on me, I amp the LEMON to the Lemonth Dimension for the first 45 -60 minutes. Then it settles down into a handful of wonderful prickly grasses, with a healthy dose of -- you guessed it -- lemongrass. At this point it most closely resembles what I expected from the description and it's wonderful -- fresh and green and clean. But. Somewhere between hours 6 and 8 something astonishing happens. I'll start to think, ooh, it's worn off, am I clear to apply another scent? and then sniff my arm and almost pass out from a wave of nostalgia and shivery olfactory pleasure. It becomes something so complex and haunting, and I know it's reminding me of some gorgeous scent from my childhood (except, you know, a thousand times better because Mara's work of art and not a commercial perfume with fixatives). Maybe Persian Woods? In any event, it delights me and while I don't know if anyone else will experience this (because it does not read like "burning dried shrubs and grasses"), it has made my day, my week, my month to experience this! Thank you so much, dear Mara, for knowing I would love this one!
  23. In the vial, I primarily get the oud, but once it hits my skin it's All Frankincense All the Time.... which is lovely, but intense. In the long drydown, the other notes come out to play a bit, and by morning, it's a soft resin-y whisper.

    Lariel

This is bright and lovely, and while it reminds me of Inspire Desire, it is definitely its own thing -- instead of cake, it feels more like the creamy orange that if it were a food would probably be ice cream, but despite the foodie ingredients, it doesn't read as foodie to my nose. In other words, as I reread Luna's review, everything she said!

    Aurora

I'll echo everyone and say the lavender here is lovely, but what really stood out for me is that this is also the plushest and most intense marshmallow I think I have ever smelled! I keep getting an image of Easter every time I sniff it -- there is something lush and creamy and so sweet. It's foodier and sweeter than Beautiful Dreamer, and softer and less tending towards camphor/medicinal than Body Paint. Probably a little too sweet for where my tastes are right now, but if you wanting something delicious and rich and ridiculously indulgent, here it is!
