  1. LOL. Gotta keep those man-boundaries intact ... it's OK ... he gets a pass on that one ... lol. In all seriousness though I have not tried Super - I'll have to put that one on the next sampler order form.
  2. D&M might need to change the name to Luv Potion .. *Bow chicka wow-wow* (Or insert the cheesy jazz riff of your choice there ... lol)
  3. They were ... educational ... but I think I will keep spending my spare change on pheros and such for now .... lol.
  4. LOL - that has been basically my reaction reading that thread (I mean with a title like that can you not read it???) *snort ... double snort ... ROTFLMAO* ... but I was a good boy and left the ladies alone in that one and not commenting one way or the other.
  5. Hello Andrew and welcome. We are slowly building a small cadre of guys here. The men's sampler is the way to go. D&M will even let you name what you want as there as not as many guys products as womens. Check the reviews - there are some for the guys. My favorite so far has been Bodice Ripper. I have not tried any of the mens phero products yet but will soon and will report accordingly. And yes everyone here is very friendly. I am sure you realize by now that this is a very ... female ... forum for the most part so do not take it personally when they start ripping on the occasional SO ... just remember - you are not that deabeat they are talking about ... lol. For a good read try Wine Brownies and Porn down in Lor's Journal ...
  6. I never worked in an environment like that but I can only imagine ... lol.
  7. LOL. Well if you come from a manly man work world then it can get pretty brutal if you smell like ummm something pretty. My work environment was such that I wore NO colognes to work and only lightly scented phero products. But then again, I was in the office one time talking to a friend when the boss's wife just happened to be there. This friend started to rib me about the color of a windbreaker I was wearing saying it looked a little effeminite. I just looked him in the eye and said something to the extent of it was my wife's favorite color and I was not planning on ... uh ... spending the night with him. The boss's wife heard that, broke out laughing, and he just shut up while turning a little red. It did not hurt that I was a good six inches taller and a little more muscular in the upper body then he was.
  8. Not that this helps any of you ladies but Est makes me want to open doors and become a little over-protective. Pushed in the right direction it can become more ... well ... nevermind. I thought my wife was very attractive even when she was very pregnant.
  9. Sorry I am taking so long adding any reviews here but I like to wear things (colognes and esp. pheros) a few times before I make any commentary. I have worn this scent about 3 times now and I like it. It is a deep (almost dark?) scent. There is a floral note to it but it is definitely very masculine. No negative comments from the wife so that means it is good. (She seldom comments on a cologne unless she does not like it or it is too heavy.) Scent is strong enough that it is there but not so strong you become the stinky "cologne guy". So - if you are a guy - this definitely a good scent to try. You certainly are wearing a cologne but even with 4-5 drops you are not overpowering. And it is certainly masculine enough to wear around your male friends without being told you smell "pretty". Guys know what I mean.
  10. Well, I am currently working on Merlin's Blend but intend to give everything a couple test run-throughs of a few days each. If it still comes across as sweet I can always send my sample vial back for you to double-check. If it is Thane, it is no biggie so to speak. I get to test 10 new colognes for a great price. And micro-brews so to speak. In a commercial market where most colognes seem to be trying to imitiate just a few classics it is nice to find something hand-crafted and original. Even if, in the end, it does not suit you. For me it's kinda like going to a small, family-owned winery for an afternoon of taste-testing. Never know what gems you are going to find. If it is not Thane - which I doubt as you ladies seem to take so much care in what you do - you can send me the real deal sometime. I am probably going to do a second sampler pack so when I do just throw in the "real" Thane with the second sampler to save shipping. Either way my wife would tell you I enjoy testing different colognes which is exactly what I am doing here. And please do not get me wrong. Everything I am saying is my opinion and my experience only. I am not trying "knock" any of the colognes by any means. My recommendation to anybody would be to get a sample and try it yourself.
  11. Sure - without a doubt. I just come from a line of work where it is almost all male and you do not wear cologne to work. Ever. I would use pheros but unscented only. I bet if the truth be told I bet that is probably the most a lot of these celebrities do when they decide to put their name on a perfume or cologne line other than saying "Use this one" at the end of the process.
  12. No real comment from her. She does not like me wearing much in the way of colognes. But she will certainly tell me if she thinks I put too much on so no comment is not necessarily a bad comment. Plus she is never sure when I am just trying a new cologne (which she thinks I have waaay to many of) and when I am playing with my pheros ... If I have a habit that may seem "unmanly" to some it is the fact I love colognes ...
  13. It seeemed kind of sweet to me - but a lot of the samples do.
  14. I tried my sample of Thane the other day. Very mixed results. When it went on it seemed sweet to me, almost like a woman's perfume. I had my doubts but let it dry down. It still seemed a little sweet but it was OK. I went out about my business for the day. I was around some of the same women I had been around when I was trying the North Shore. The woman who said the North Shore was OK said the same about Thane. Later the woman who said that North Shore smelled a little effiminate said she really liked Thane. A very good sign. And then I ran into "S". S is a very good friend - almost a younger version of my wife. As such, I take her thoughts and opinions seriously. She is married and has kids. We are all (her, my wife, myself) pretty good friends. S and I even work together from time to time but this day's meeting was by chance. I asked her what she thought of my cologne sample. She takes one whiff, looks me dead in the eye and says "You smell like a woman." She leans forward, takes another whiff of my neck, and says "Sort of old womanish. Are you sure that was a man's cologne you were trying?" Ouch. We had some small conversation for a minute or two but then we both had to go. As she was leaving she laughs and says "You need to get that off - you smell like a woman." Double ouch. I think it was the laugh that hurt the most. Despite the smell test disaster with S I will continue to test this one a few more days.
  15. Ooops. Sorry. I promise to try to be a good boy in the future ... lol.
  16. I tried this for three days. The woods, greenery and florals really come out in this cologne, both out of the vial and on my skin. I was hoping for more of the "sea spray" to come through but it did not seem to on my skin. I personally did not notice the "distinctive scent of a North Shore party" and nor did anyone else mention it, though that is probably for the best ... lol. It was not my usual type of scent but then again the whole idea behind the sampler pack is to experiment and try something new. You never know what you might find. I also noticed my skin seems to drink up the oil/scent but this is nothing new. I found myself reapplying 2-3 times during the day. Naturally, I tried running this scent by my wife. Now I will tell you she is very particular about what scents/colognes I wear and she prefers them very lightly applied. She did not really care for this one but that is OK. I have been known to wear colognes she is not crazy about just because I like them. Bad husband ... lol. I also asked a few female friends what they thought about it. One friend really did seem to like it, a couple thought it was OK, and another told me it smelled kinda feminine. Not good. I am not the "feminine" kinda guy. But that was only one out of several women who said that. So I am going to give this a vial a rest and try another. I will however return to it once I have gone through some more of my sampler pack.
  17. The coffee scent really jumped out at me with La Vie. I forget which of the other 2 seemed to remind me of food scents. Not overt food scents but something made me think of food. I think I expected North Shore to be more "nautical" then came across out of the vial. The "woody/earthy" scent from the description I got was very much there. Again - not a complaint by any means - just an observation. You are certainly right about Down & Dirty - it definitely did not have a food smell - lol. The tobacco notes fairly do jump out. It actually made me think of a bar my wife and I like to go to from time to time. But again these observations are all based on only two rounds of smell testing out of the vial only. Colonges/perfumes can smell very different once they are on your skin and then they can smell different after they "dry down" and even more different after a couple hours as different notes come through. I am really looking forward to trying all these. My wife told me a couple years ago that I could not get any more colognes until I had burned through what was then my current stock. Well, I am not quite there yet but ... close enough. LOL. Thank you - I already am! So, have you tried it out on one of your surgeon friends?
  18. OK - After being registered here for ... well, I won't go into that, but I finally ordered and received my sampler pack. I got: North Shore Thane Excalibur Soceror Love Potion #9 Un Miss Right ... now ( my usual idea of romance ... lol) Bodice Ripper (a close second) Vie de Boheme Down & Dirty My first impressions are good but also that these are very different scents from what I am accustomed to. I took a deep whiff of all of them just to get a feel for them. My first impression was that I am going to smell like food with several. Not necesarily a bad thing if it makes the Mrs. hungry for ... ummm, nevermind. I did notice that Vie de Boheme does smell like coffee just as advertised. I do not drink coffee but the wife does so that is good. In fact the first thing she gets in the morning is her cup of coffee. So ... there are possibilities there too.... Hmmmm. I will post reviews as I try them.
  19. Well thank you everyone - you have given me a lot of food for thought.
  20. Well just from reading I am looking at Northshore, Frog and maybe Merlin. But I have yet to hear anyone mention Merlin ... hmmm. The "properties" seemed interesting but the silence is ... telling? Does anyone know how the scents of Bad Boy and Down and Dirty differ? And who has any experience with Super Sexy pheromone blend?
  21. I am going to order the sample pack. I spoke to the ladies here and they said I can - up to a point - request some of the scents I want as there are not many male scents. I am looking at Northshore, Merlin, and Frog in particular. After that a few of the pheromone products might be interesting.
  22. If I were to order the 10 Pack Trial Sampler - are the 10 samples set or could I request certain samples?
