  1. First time I tried LP Black, I didn't like it. It seemed off... something about a note didn't go well. But then I waited for a month and tried it again, holy cow what a difference. I need to remember what time of the month that was because it was totally different and so gorgeous!! OCCO Black is even better!!!
  2. Do you have SS4W as well? Do you notice any difference between using the two?
  3. It's interesting because the incensey sort of smell is what made me like it so much when I first came here! I don't know if I would like it as much if my skin chemistry had made it smell like how others describe it. I've never considered it bad at all... it's still my all time favorite. It's a strange thing how not only our skin chemistry can alter a scent into either something we love or can't stand. I love it and it sounds like it is not high on your list, hearts.
  4. Of everything I've worn, this is still the one that got the craziest hit at work. That just might remain my best LP hit ever.
  5. I feel like we just plumped up our pillows for an "after" cigarette. I don't think I'm quite ready just yet to go again! LOL
  6. Me too. Changing of seasons here is about a week. It'll be winter for about two weeks. LOL I've decided that Ann's Winter's Nap will be my day Autumn scent and Luna's Miss Autumn will be the night version sort of like I thought for Rocket Fuel V2 and 3. These two are really, really similar - Miss Autumn smelling just a bit darker because of the maple. It's so nice to have scents I can equate with certain times of year. I'll usually wear whatever I want but sometimes I don't want to smell like a strawberry or the beach during the holidays!! Same goes for mistletoe when it's 118. LOL
  7. Molls, that's what I get too. It's not a "bad" smell but just the way you described it - over-ripe fruit. Dry down seems to be the biggest culprit for stinky smells later on. There have been a couple of times (and it only took twice to learn) when I was in a hurry and didn't let it dry down completely. I ended up with cops smell on my shirt and I can attest to the fact that cops will "bloom" with body temperature because I could smell it all day long when I would move around. I couldn't wait to get home and take those shirts off!! If the dry down is complete though, it all seems good. No one has ever said anything negative about my perfumes, quite the contrary since I've been wearing LPs exclusively.
  8. Looks like it's been awhile since anyone posted anything about this one so I thought I'd give an update for a scent that had a chance to age. I got this as a sniffie/sample and it looks like I just bought the last bottle on ArtFire. I too got an almost citrusy feel when I first applied. I thought that seemed a little different since it's supposed to invoke wintry cuddling, burning leaves, a leather coat, etc. It doesn't seem to last long though. After a couple of minutes, I start to get the feel of autumn. The way the air feels: brisk, cool and leaves falling, fireplaces starting to be lit up, cinnamon, pumpkin shopping, pine needles and wearing my long coat with a warm fuzzy scarf (something I don't get to do often in Arizona). It's such a comforting scent and reminds me of all freshness of the changing seasons and how much I love that time of year. It's a perfect, sweeter, compliment to Luna's Miss Autumn which I also got for the same reason. I don't know if I picked up those thoughts because this has had a chance to age or whether it just works well on me but I thought I'd pass along my thoughts in case anyone has this in the back of their LP closet and wants to pull it out for another try.
  9. I agree with everyone. Perfumes with cops hardly ever smell. I've got Compromising Positions and that one I CAN smell the cops during dry down but it fades. Most everything else is covered extremely well by the scent so you shouldn't worry. As for hits, it's all about the experimenting. One thing I found when I first joined the forum is that some people would only need a small dab to get great hits and others would need to slather... and that would be regarding the same phero! Start out being conservative and then work your way up from there. That's what's find the "sweet spot" is all about because really, it seems like everyone finds that its a little different on each of us. Also, you might find that some pheros work better than others on you. Le Femme Mystery I don't ever get hits from other people, per se (makes me feel sexy though). Super Sexy 4 Women, I would be surprised if I didn't get hits because it always makes everyone around me happy. Like VexedGlory said, don't be disheartened. Keep trying them out and you will find the perfect one(s) for you.
  10. Well, if you want to try a sniffie of one, let me know. I can send you the AVV sniffie I have and you can see how you feel about it. I've decided that one isn't for me and will be sticking with the OCCO White and BBM. OCCO White being my "wearable" and BBM being my layer.
  11. Bleed through is what I'm hoping to avoid. Because its so hot here so much of the time, I prefer the cops keep their little secrets and not announce it to the world!! I'm thinking VF as well but now there's this little naggy voice in my head saying "PE". I'm going to toss that around for a bit too.
  12. I'd forgotten about that list BB, thanks for posting it for WonderWoman and the rest of us!! I looked up Bang and didn't see anything listed that it's in and double checked the site as well. Looks like right now, it's only the UN if I'm seeing correctly.
  13. DD, I really like the Red w/Gotcha a lot. It seemed like such a natural combo in my head and it is. Whereas SS4W and Cougar give off this totally happy, almost party vibe for me at work, Gotcha lends this relaxed, comfortable warm sort of feel and the Red seems to bring out a sensual tone to the mix. I think the combo tends to work together for the full effect because I've tended to get better results with the Red than I have with other scents - much like scented Cougar.
  14. Awww, thanks Stacy!! That would be most appreciated!! FdV is another one that sounded really nice (and I wouldn't have considered it without your recommendation) so I'll be super excited to try it out.
  15. DD, it's really a great combo (Cougar/Topper). I wear it to work and it never fails to get wonderful hits. Everyone always ends up being so helpful, friendly, chatty. I get smiles all day, joking around, instructors hanging out at my desk. It's a fun vibe and after crazy hectic weeks, I like to wear this on Fridays. SS4W/Topper does the same thing. I love that it just creates this happy, relaxed vibe although the last time I wore it on a Friday, I got very little work done because everyone wanted to play hookie all day and hang out with me... at my desk, in a corner, at the copy machine. LOL It's no joke to say Topper does step it up a notch.
  16. That sounds about right!! I'm going to go full steam ahead and get a FB next order. If it doesn't work out, I have no doubt it will find a good home here somewhere!! Sounds like the dry down is about the same but if it's a floral poke for an hour, I can do that. Way better than toddler butt in Jouir De!!
  17. I think this is one you would like. It very vanilla with a darker tone to it, not bright and super sweet like AVV (at least that's how it seemed on me). I really like it by itself and I'll be doing testing whether I like this or BBM for layering (or both equally). THAT one is my go-to scent for mixing at the moment. I'm wondering if he didn't actually think that in his head and changed his mind at the last minute... he saw certain death coming and decided to avert!! LOL
  18. I've read through all the posts here and I'm leaning towards adding this as an add-in to an oil because of the cops. I've seen LP Pink and Red mentioned as good ones. I've got Red with Gotcha. I'm thinking of either adding into Shadow Dance or Voodoo Fondue. I plan on getting Dance of Passion but that one already is enhanced otherwise I'd choose that. Do you think either of those two would be too light a cover? Any thoughts on which one you think would be more congruent? I'm leaning towards VF but any new ideas are always appreciated!!
  19. I didn't even think of that but you're right!! It is very pink. Maybe that's why it seems "wrong" to me. OCCO White however exactly fits the bill. I got a FB in my last order and tried it out. I swear I may become a total OCCO convert. The Red, White and Black all smell heavenly. I almost like them better than the originals. I won't go that far just yet but it's close.
  20. I have to really thank Luna for mentioning this one today. I love LOVE Jouir De. The dry down is scary for an hour but once over, it's the most gorgeous scent on me. I have to add this to my next order if it's a lighter version that I can wear without hiding!! I really think the orchid is what I love so much about Jouir De. I feel like a walking sex bomb ready to explode when I wear that stuff and it's mostly because of that soft musky floral note that happens at dry down. Does anyone still have this? Any thoughts since it's aged?
  21. That addiction we've been discussing... yeah, she's a bad seed. I try to be all good and not put anything in the cart and she just says "come on, just one. You can buy just one." And now, thanks to you NuTrix, my addiction has a face. LOL
  22. That's awesome!! You really need to start your own series for Agent Null. These are too funny!
  23. OMG. If there is a less obscene version that I don't have to wait an hour to wear, I MUST try!!!
  24. I think I was just looking at AVV to be a nice vanilla scent I could wear to work. Not necessarily as a cover, maybe to layer. Something soft and sweet and unobtrusive around co-workers. I think BBM has been working out splendidly as a cover and the OCCO White as well. Although I haven't liked BBM on it's own, per se, OCCO White was more what I was looking for so I could see me using that in the way I had hoped I could use AVV. Vanilla in Mara's creations however makes me think that I don't necessarily need a straight vanilla scent. It always seems to add the "impression" I was going for even if not in a single note. I'm thinking the orchid is what made me adore the dry down of Jouir De. I'm almost tempted to ask Mara if I could buy just a drop of orchid in a sniffie to test out my theory. I'm thinking its the orchid and vanilla combo that smells so sinfully sexy. If it is, I can see PEs with that in it in the very near future!!! ETA: oops, forgot about Lick of Cream. No, haven't tried it but all of the notes in it have been ones that liked my skin. Note to self: add sample in next order.
  25. Yeah, I thought maybe it was my skin chemistry doing its thing when I didn't get the strong floral. Ever since I first tested, I haven't really gotten a "this is a floral" type feel from it. There's hints but its not blatant and compared to many that I like, it's very light. You're right, it's really good!! I haven't been able to pick out the apricot at all and the spices are very subdued. Then again, I didn't really pick up the apricot in OCCO Red either. It was really similar to my nose as LP Red... By late in the day w/Agent XXX, what was left was amber and musk. It was very light and not really sweet... just like warm sexy skin. LOL That may be why my husband thought it was sugar scrub. I wonder if letting it age will change this in time?
