  1. Hope you have fun Bella! I forgot to point out that if SLF and Coco did make that beautiful baby, SLF would definitely have let Coco Honey be "the top."
  2. Thanks StacyK! WendyLynne, I will not be far behind you!
  3. I have never tried GB, but this one..OMG! I went FB on this one and have back ups coming. In the bottle, I get a sweet, rich, cocoa powder type dark chocolate yumminess. Applied wet on my skin, it's still dark chocolate, sweet, sticky, dessert type decadence. About ten minutes, perhaps less, it blooms into a straight up SLF with dark chocolate, whipped cream, and caramel sex bomb! The SLF part has all that you would expect, musky honeys and amber, but where SLF is hardcore smutty, Ambrosia of Eros is more "Smut LITE." Those of us who love that smuttiness will find it in this version PLUS.. you get all of the delicious sweet stuff! The cocoa and cream and caramel really hold up quit well on my skin. Nice throw, long lasting. It's strangely elegant smuttiness. Imagine being in an upscale restaurant after a candlelight dinner, wearing your sexiest, smuttiest, "DO ME NOW" perfume. You feel the glow within and around you, knowing where this is leading. Just then, the waiter/tresss arrives with a gleaming silver dessert cart loaded with the richest, most sinfully decadent desserts imaginable. The scents of their sweetness waft off of them, tickling your nose...and *other* places. Your mouth waters as you gaze over the glistening, glazed offerings. Rich, chocolate on top of chocolate, baklava, oozing wth sensual, sticky honey and slivers of almonds, buttery and sweet.. there is rich, opulent, whipped cream topping sitting like like puffs of downy clouds all over the desserts. Your nose detects every scent on that cart as you covet those goodies. It crosses your mind to simply stand up, passionately embrace your lover, kissing them and tearing at their clothes with a heated sense of urgency, your desires overtaking both of you, as you cover your table, dish, by delectable dish, with the sweet selections, and fall upon them, smearing the sweet treats all over each other, savoring their amazing goodness, their scents mixing with your hot and sexy SLF perfume, you're sooo ready! Then... oh.. wait.. getting the vapors! Ahem.. where was I? Oh right, as I was trying to describe... THIS is the smell and essence of Ambrosia of Eros to me. SLF, DTF at dessert time! How nice is THAT??? If Coco Honey and SLF had hot, passionate, syrupy sex on a dessert tray and made a baby, *this* would be that baby! luna had it so right. Totally SLF gourmand! I didn't get back up bottles for nothing, people! Mara.. I this!!!!
  4. Exactly, luna. There have been mmany, the one you are trying to recall might be Sauvage? Here is the link to the reviews of Secretions Magnefique on Fragrantica. I find them really entertaining. lol! http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Etat-Libre-d-Orange/Secretions-Magnifiques-4523.html And yes, as you say with the Jouir De, on my skin there is definitely an undeniable SLF aspect to it, but on my skin, it turns into something really pretty. Tabu, as you pointed out, was designed to smell like something that a prostitute would wear and I think it captures that well. BUT ask someone today and they will say that it smells like a granny! It's highly subjective. Guerlain's Jicky, which preceded Shalimar was met with shock and seen as scandalous. Shalimar as it used to be, was preceived as either "slutty, "beautiful," or like a powdery old grandma! I find all of this fascinating.
  5. Ugh halo, thats a nasty situation! I have heard of a medical condition that can make people, male or female, emit a horrible fish like smell, and not just from the genital area, but all over! And no matter how vigorously these people wash or deodorize, it is to no avail. It's a sad thing really, but at the same time, you can't blame people for not wanting to be near them. Hearts, I have heard the same thing about eating pineapple, strawberries, celery, etc. I am pretty sure that how we smell or taste can be directly affected by what we eat and drink to a good degree. Garlic, onions, strong spices, can all be detected in someone's breath and perspiration. Consider the notorious way that asparagus can make a healthy person's urine smell! There are other potential causes as well, such as medications, supplements, health issues, and yes, as luna said, PH. Ideally, we want our PH to not be either too acidic ( that could be related to the vinegar smell you mentioned, PrimaGirl) or too alkaline, though a highly acidic PH is what is usually to blame for many health problems and an issue in and of itself. I suppose that the bottom line is that everyone, aside from the variables, is going to have a scent that is natural to them. Since humans emit their own type of musk, it will be capable of turning "funky" if left unwashed. But this is where sensible hygiene comes in. It's doubtful that anyone is going to give off a scent naturally that resembles Summer's Eve. LOL! But it should never be offensive to the point where something smells BAD! We get to know our own bodies and what is natural for us. If our scent changes, we need to consider why this might be and address the problem, but humans are animals not fruit or vegetables. Fauna, not flora, so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise if we emit more muskiness than fruitiness or floral bouquets. It's just nice if it's a CLEAN muskiness for most of us. Some, like Napoleon though, have a preference for an overly ripe and uncleansed musk! Not what most of us want to smell, or smell like that, but that kink is definitely there. BTW, has anyone heard of, or tried a perfume called Magnificent Secretions? Search THAT one and check out the description! Not for the fans of fresh and clean from what I have read!
  6. I agree. EoW is the "IT" of cops. As luna mentioned earlier, women have been conditioned and still are, to get RID of our own scent. I think this is why the audience for perfumes in the animalic category has dwindled. It's not only about animal cruelty since many of these things, civet, for example, can be fairly well synthesized in a lab. It is more that perception of it being associated with uncleanliness. I adore VINTAGE Shalimar, which has a fair amount of civet as an ingredient, but the new version being marketed to today's consumers has been cleaned up beyond recognition to my nose. Personally, I don't care what others think. I still love it. Beccah, you are right about the importance of maintaining a healthy vaginal PH and the antibiotics are important. Love the info you posted on the personalized prohibitive regimen, since it is SO personal.
  7. Thanks luna! Well, I guess this calls for a trial vial in my next order then!
  8. Maybe this isn't a fair question, but does this compare at all with Beth's Blushing Milkmaid, which I looooove?
  9. It sounds soooo good, but to be truthful, the maple scares me! Is it really, really stand out, or just a hint O' Maple?
  10. I agree luna. It's very sweet, and yummy and bright, all that apricot strutting its stuff! I love it! For those of you who love honey, this should make you very happy. For those of you who fear honey, it is subtle and I think you should try it! There is enough to satisfy any honey lover. Don't fear the patch either! It's definitely in there, but I did not find it to be at all in your face. Just nicely balanced. I think this one is going to age incredibly well! Beautiful work, Mara. Way to rock a Love Potion!
  11. Indeed! I love vanilla on anyone. My own skin's chemistry hates leather, but I think it's awesomely sexy on other people.
  12. Got my precious package of lovelies! SO HAPPY! Even got the red bag I had hoped for! Thank you so, SO much once again for gifting us with this sale, Mara.
  13. OMG! Mara, you are WICKED! And I love you for it!!!
  14. Thanks SpriteLeigh and Eggers! So sorry for your experiences too! Pheros can definitely be tricky. It might just be that this one has a hair trigger on me. I remember one time when I first began using Levitation of all things, I was so overly enthusiastic about it that I went a bit overboard by perhaps a tiny spritz or so and had an intense experience where it was as if an emotional dam had broken. I was so, SO sad and cried myself into a massive headache and sinusitis attack. Thankfully, I was at home by myself! It's all so worth it when we finally get it right! I might try TH again when an appropriate opportunity presents itself and just use a tiny bit, but it could very well be that this phero and I just have a personality conflict. I will definitely report back when I do, unless I opt against it. I am hardly using pheros at all these days, but I felt I could use the extra help that day. I DID get the effects I was hoping for on others!
  15. OK, so I have not, for some reason, experimented with my TH much, but the other day, I had the third of three experiences with it that are making me wonder if this phero is just not right for me. I had an appt with a new doc the other day and I really needed it to get off to a good start. I hadn't used it in quite some time, but went through the UN phero sprays that I have and since the new doc is a woman, I thought maybe TH would be a good choice. I sprayed a bit on each arm and on my neck. I won't get into details about the whole doc thing and what is going on right now. She is a VERY brainy, somewhat eccentric woman and I would say that it went well with her. My problem is with self effects that I feel might be due to TH. It seems to flip my bitch switch in a big way! I mean everyone else around me seems cheery enough, but it just makes me...GRRRRrrrrrrrrr!!! To be fair, I did have good reason to be angry, but my response felt inappropriately INTENSE. As I said, it has been quite a while since I have used TH, but as I recall, the last time, I was simply at home and wanted to have a nice, quiet laidback evening with my partner. He seemed OK ( I get the best results with him with EST) but I remember that I ended up copping a major bitchy attitude for NO reason at all. There was one other time, when we were out and about that this happened to me. Again, no logical reason. Yes, everyone else seemed fine, but I was NOT fine. So I must confess, I am now a bit afraid to try this again. Maybe I should sell my spray and rehome it with someone that it plays nicely with. Any thoughts or input would be welcome!
  16. Hi BG, if unscented LAM is not available right now, why not see if it becomes available during November/phero month and wear it with the UN Buttercream Peach? I love LAM for its mellow happy feeling too. My fave is the original since I am both a honey ho and vanilla ho, double the awesome factor.
  17. Aww...cutie.pie, this story about your grandma is so moving. I love that you named your PE after her. I think it's a truly loving and brilliant way to both honor her and to embody the strength and essence of a remarkable woman. I love her name! I am a strong believer in calling upon the spirits of our ancestors in times of need. We do keep their energy going in this world whether through an actual bloodline or through our loving connection with them. This is a wonderful idea!
  18. Unfortunately,I have never had the pleasure of smelling this incredibly beautiful sounding PE. Really, it sounds so nice!
  19. OMG..I put a bunch in my cart and put them back! Seriously, when cleaning and decluttering last week, I found a box of LP melts I had totally forgotten about in addition to the ones stashed in my candle and incense drawer!!! What the hell am I thinking??? The only way I will allow myself more is if there were some Sugared Honeycomb available. Otherwise, I am behaving!
  20. I find that certain fragrances help me lose weight. Basically, anything that makes me feel SEXY seems to help me. I think it is really about drawing a certain level of consciousness to your own sense of attractiveness IMO.
  21. Oh wow..your reviews are getting me so psyched to get mine!!!
  22. OMG! These look so awesome! Love the label on cutie.pie's Ma Petite Cherie! BUT..I have done all the damage I am going to do. Resisting!!!
  23. Hope you had a great time and am sure it was a sensational success! I so wish I could make it out there some time, but alas, not in the near future at least. Can't wait to sniff the new brew of Honeyed LP and Ambrosia Eros!
