  1. Thanks StacyK! I do know that they have it there (ye gods, I love that store!) They had marked it up a good deal, but they know good things are worth it! I love your Sugared Orchid idea! You KNOW I am going to have to try it!
  2. I have one precious bottle of this and I love, love, love it! Wish I had more stashed! Once the cops die down, it's sweet and musky and ambery on me and its staying power is beyond belief! This is the LP that comes closest to my beloved Jouir De. But fair warning, if you can't wear honey, don't even bother. It's a down and dirty honey sex bomb. I can only pull it off because like Jouir De and the so called smutty honeys, it turns into something completely different on my skin. More like a genuine animalic dowsed in beautiful, sweet, delectable honey. Long dry down for the cops on me though. Even after maybe an hour, there is still the slightest hint of that vinegary funk. No worries for me, I simply plan accordingly. I would be elated to see this return.
  3. So glad I got a bottle of this unusual and very pretty PE LP. Nice composition on this, Mara and Nyree. I think Iris is underutilized in modern perfumery and that is much to my chagrin. This is the only one of the three PE s in my order that I have tried. As promised, the lovely Iris IS the star of this show. Soft, powdery, with the ever so slight metallic type hint that I always get from Iris. Once the top note fades only slightly, what I get is a light Musk which complements the Iris perfectly. I know that the patch is in there only because of the description, but otherwise, I swear I would have no idea! The white Amber is merely a whisper, but I do believe it is this which gifts this PE with its remarkable longevity. I say remarkable, because Iris is by nature, quite soft and also because there is an extremely sheer air to this perfume. Sheer in the same way that the Sugareds are sheer. I do wish it were a bit less sheer and more concentrated in order to make itself more known. BUT, as I have already said, it lasts remarkably long, especially for such a sheer, soft perfume. And that is how I read the vibe of Nyree's Passionate. I would describe it as a soft, sheer, exotic scent. I realize that most people equate exotic scents with dark essences, but to me, this is that elusive and rare light exotic. I am very curious to see what this beauty will reveal of itself upon aging a bit!
  4. Got my magickal goodies! Thank you so much Mara. It always lifts my spirits and makes my heart smile when I see a package from LPMP in my mail. XO and blessings.
  5. What an AWESOME visualization!!!
  6. Wow..the beachiest of the beachy ones. On me, it delivers exactly the ingredients it contains. Of course I do have to confess that I have no idea what a cactus flower smells like! I agree with luna regarding the smokiness not being there to my nose. No smoke up my nose st all! When I first popped the vial open, it was ALL about, "Gimme some SUGAR, baby!" I was a bit overwhelmed by the strength of it at first, but upon dry down, it's a warm, super sweet coconut smell. Makes me want to add some rum, pineapple, and orange and cherry garnish with a cute little paper umbrella. Something is keeping it from going over the top icky sweet and I can only guess it must be that cactus flower? Beach bunnies rejoice. This one has that vibe that beach ladies love. Too much so to be my thing, but really, I do think it came out great!
  7. This is quite nice. Not sure that this is a ME scent, but still nice. It's very currant on me. And the patch and ylang ylang are definitely in the background lending some depth to the sweet currants. It rounds well..coming together with a smooth creaminess which translates to some sort of summery confection that I can not quite pinpoint. As I said, it's not really a scent for me, but I can see Kissed by the Sun having a following. Mara seemed to have manifested a sunny, beachy essence with this and given the ingredients, I found that somewhat amazing and surprising. I am not very proficient in the language of beach scents, but I recognize one when it is speaking to me. Perhaps it is the subtle coconut, but something summery and beachy comes through and lingers on me. I would say give it a try!
  8. That is a possibility Wendylynne! I just need to take a little time to get over the negative association thing. I usually use the scent locket for spell potions, so I would not have thought of this. Thank you!
  9. Wet, this was a blast of strawberry lemonade and rose. As it dried down on me, my skin strangely transformed this perfectly refreshing rosey, strawberry lemonade into a clone of an old Avon body spray that a friend of mine used to drench herself in. It was a scent that was very sweet, very cloying, and I disliked it, probably due to her intense over application of it. It was called Soft Petals, or maybe Pink Petals? I can not wear this one. Sadly, it was nice until it hit my skin. This might work really well for fans of sugary, pink scents. The label is still awesome!!!
  10. I get the same impression luna. I think this is why it brought the phrase, "full bodied" to mind. Also, "warmth," as opposed to the usual light. I also agree that some time is going to need some time to grow into its true self. That's okay!
  11. I got my first package of this month's goodies today! So excited! So the first LP I had to try was this one. I was dying to know what the most recent incarnation of this smelled like! My impressions are as follows: Upon opening the bottle, it was a full ON cherry bomb! One serious blast of cherry in my face, which is never something I will complain about. I closed it and shook it really well, then put some on each wrist. Yep. Very cherry! I kept doing the nose to wrist shuffle, huffing and checking out how it was morphing. Mara did have to use a different vanilla in this version, as we all know. It is much more full bodied, richer and an extremely warm vanilla. As it unfolded, it remained beautiful, but on my skin, the fruits dissipated a good deal. It was sort of similar to what I experienced with Spring's Lusty Cherry. The vanilla in this reminds me very much of the darker vanilla paste in SLC. This is a lovely vanilla, but on my skin, it seems to somehow make the fruits difficult to detect, at least I THINK it is this vanilla. I could be wrong. From what I experienced, I would compare this year's Ambrosia to last year's this way, last year's was a light, sweet, fruity, sunny, vanilla blend. On me, this year's is less about sunny and more about WARMTH. It is very much like LPO on me and I do adore LPO. It could very well be the travel shock or the fact that it needs some time to age and temper for the fruit notes to really come forth and remain on me. This is beautiful. I do not regret buying a few FB s at all, but I would love for either the fruit to overcome its shyness, or for the vanilla to be a bit less dominant. For those of you who fear patchouli, I would put your fears to rest by saying, "Do not let that put you off! It is there, but only lightly and in a way which helps to build that full bodied aspect that I mentioned." Also worth noting is the longevity of this one. It lasts really well, which as much as I adore last year's Ambrosia, I can not credit it with lasting power on my skin. Not that this ever dissuaded me for a moment! I am going to let this sit a while and try again, at which time, I will be sure to post results. I do think that if you were looking forward to this version that you should definitely try it!
  12. Got my glorious package of magickal wonderfulness today! Thank you SO much for such fast shipping and the generous goodies! Our kitty, Ronin grabbed the bag of bottles and was stealing away with them when I got a blurry pic of him in the act!
  13. OK, so as I type this, I am huffing my wrists on and off. When I opened the vial, the powerful, floral blast almost made me hesitate. Almost... but I applied a healthy dose to my wrists and the initial intensity faded. It is aptly named, since it evokes an undeniable aura of wetness. The type of wetness one associates with the scent of a garden after a summer rain. Blooms moistened and warmed and emitting that certain type of something that flowers ONLY seem to give off after a tropical soaking. It is VERY well blended. No in your face, indole induced, olfactory orgy of Jasmine as I had expected. It is subtler, softer. I don't know that I would call it "pretty" in a classical sense. It is far too interesting..too fascinating to be merely pretty. Yes, it is fascinating, which brings me to the crux of my impression of Moist. On my skin, as it has dried down, this very much brings to my mind, the haunting scent of Fascination Potion. I do like this very much as to me, it is "quirky," and I do tend to be drawn to all things quirky. I am huffing again and pick up only the slightest, whispered suggestion of something remotely, ever so faintly indolic, but I think you would have to already be looking for that illusive hedione. I am not yet certain if I feel compelled toward a FB of this, but am very happy to have tried it. It is fascinating..and undeniably compelling somehow. Wow.. ETA, As this has settled in, it has become soft and powdery and slightly sweet. Very, very subtle. Sort of a clean scent and unmistakably feminine!
  14. I'm so sorry Donsie! I have never had EST do this to me, but I know it is not unusual. I am well into menopause, but knowing the way I used to get hyper emotional ( I would get weepy at cat food commercials!), I would have HAD to avoid it during PMS! Have you tried it in Lace? Or maybe if you have any, just put a bit of Alpha Anol on to lighten things up? If you are not opposed, tried it at a time of month when you will be less apt to have this reaction?
  15. Ohh.. you make this sound so beautiful! I admit it luna, I almost ordered this one. Maybe next time around if there is any left. I went all out this time around!
  16. Mara, may I please add a bottle of Nyree's Passionate to my order as well. Sounds lovely!
  17. Poor StacyK! Sorry about the ear worms AND your hangover! Now about the taste of Buns of Cinn...might that be Fireball?
  18. I fear that we perfume addicts give a whole new meaning to "nose candy." Aroma crack!! Rehab???! I say no, no, noooo! If there's a cure for this, I don't want it. Hooked on a feeling, etc, etc.
  19. Mara, I am curious, could you tell me how up front is the white patchoulli Nyree's Passionate? Is the Iris that beautiful, powdery scent? I adore iris and don't see it in many blends. I do know that NO one can tame patchoulli the way that you can, but I guess I am concerned with the iris holding its own. I might need to have one of these depending!
  20. I know BG! I was so psyched! I got a few FBs. I have faith that the reformulation will be beautiful and androstenol got a sneak preview of it at Mara's store and described it in the Store Squee Thread.
  21. Dammit! Mara, may I please have one bottle of StacyK's Milfy? How can I resist? ETA... Aaaaand I am out of here for now! Am psyched! Mara, ladies, these all look fabulous! ETA: My order is for one of each, so two total. Sorry if that was confusing! xo
  22. I trust you Mara, but can only choose one and think I need the Six of Cups more if I may. ETA: LOVED your message to hearts! "She's my sweet mama lion."
