  1. Oh, this scent is so pretty! I wish I knew the notes. I looked them up and it just said flowers, fruits, honey, and musk. Whatever it is, it all works together! But I'm curious what kinds of fruits and what kinds of flowers. I just love this one a lot. I'm so glad I got a full bottle off the trade boards. It smells so womanly and sexy, but it also smells very clean for a scent with "dirty" in the title! My only complaint, and it is minor, is that I wish it had better throw and lasted a little longer. But maybe it's just that I'm too close to it; my neighbour smelled it on me, after all. She thought it smelled like mango. That's why I'm curious what fruits are in it. Oh, and I love the label. I don't know what that girl's up to, but she certainly looks sneaky (but still cute) about it. It would be nice if this one was still available, and I could get it in spray. I think this one would be perfect in spray form.
  2. Interesting, I wonder why? All I can think is the benzoin, but I don't actually know what that smells like--it's just something that "sounds" like it might smell medicinal, you know?
  3. This one goes kind of weird on me. I smell something akin to the first whiff of a Vick's stick, before the menthol fully comes out and punches you in the nose. My friend/neighbour was over and she got tea tree oil and Vaseline. Sooo...this one was a bit strange. It's hard to review it for that reason! But, all that said, it smells quite pleasant on me now. Sort of soft and warm and fruity. It has softened up considerably. I just wish it hadn't taken so long! I think this is another that I'm going to have to try again sometime, to see if it comes across any different to me.

The cocoa powder in this one made me nervous, but it wasn't that bad. I found it a little bit foodie in the vial, which also made me nervous. I don't know...I really like the label on this one. I want that hair! I don't know if I smell violets or not. After it dries down, it goes all perfumey for a long while, and then it's back to mild cocoa powder again. I have no idea what sassafras smells like, so I don't know if I'm getting that or not. Isn't that supposed to smell like root beer? I do not smell any root beer. Nor do I smell like a Tootsie Roll, thank goodness--I don't like those! haha. I find this one...hmmm, what's the word? It's teasing. It's fleeting. Evasive. Enigmatic. I can't get a handle on what it actually smells like.

Could very well be! That makes sense. Cops to sweeten? Cops smell awful!
  6. Well now I'm curious! I was in tears all night after this one...I miss that place so much.
  7. I found this one quite harsh and yet foodie in the vial, so I wasn't really excited about trying it. Any scent with chocolate in it often smells harsh to me. As do some of the "darker" honey scents. They somehow make my throat ache, if that makes sense. However, this one was a bit of a surprise in that I liked it better after I put it on and it had dried down a bit. I still don't think it's a "me" scent, but it did mellow out a lot. I actually didn't mind it. In fact, I kind of liked it, but I don't think it will be a favourite of mine. I may try it again sometime to see if that changes, idk.
  8. Me neither! I think I've added extras on at the last minute a few too many times, maybe, lol.

    Defrosted

I would have sworn there was a lemon note in this one before I saw the actual notes. Must be the pine that my nose was confusing for lemon. I love the concept of this scent--that whole "spring cleaning, out-with-the-old" idea. I was hoping to wear it on a day where it seemed like spring was coming. Just my luck, today is the ONLY day in awhile that it actually snowed here and was more like winter than spring! On my skin, it goes powdery, but not too powdery. It seems to get a "grainy" edge to it, if that makes sense. I'm not sure what that could be. Maybe the oak? I don't know. I like it, but it's not a favourite. I will have to give it another shot sometime to see if it's a keeper or not.

This one reminded me quite a bit of Crayons: Burnt Umber. I was getting a lot of "smoke" as a note, which I now see it doesn't have, so I don't know what that was from. It was a little overwhelming. After pretty much the entire day, the "smoke" finally settled down and left me just with a perfumey scent. Nice enough, but not really a standout. But since the "smokey" part lasted almost all day, I don't think I could wear this one. It was too much and it was annoying me. Maybe I'll give it one more shot sometime.

    Curiosities

I tried this yesterday, and it's nice, but I think it's definitely not a "me" scent. Too foodie for my tastes. I could really smell the caramel (which my nose initially interpreted as coffee, probably because I like caramel-y lattes and cappuccinos), but no apple. I think it would have appealed to me more if I had gotten a sharp bit of green apple or something. Something to counteract the sweet richness of the caramel.

    Cry Havoc!

I always find it surprising when my experience is totally different from everyone else's. I like this one in the vial well enough. On my skin, at first it loses its sweetness while it's still wet, but then when it dries down it comes back. But there's a note in it that annoys me somehow. At least for awhile. I don't know what it is. Then it morphs and just smells soft and soapy. I normally like soapy but I wasn't feeling it today. I don't know if it's me, or the scent itself, so I guess I'd have to try this one again sometime. But today, I wasn't feeling it. It doesn't seem like one for me. I didn't find it relaxing, either. It did have good staying power. It lasted all day. By the end of the day, it wound up just smelling perfumey in a generic way. I think I would prefer this on a man to wearing it myself.
  13. At least I'm not alone! But I cannot afford all the perfumes, sadly. I figured I could stretch a bit for a bottle of Atomic Mandarin if it's almost sold out.
  14. I really can't decide how I feel about this one. It's nice enough, though not really a standout for me. I had no idea it had grape or lime in it; I didn't get that at all. I don't know if I like violet scents or not. I will have to try it again sometime in the future to see how I feel about it then.
  15. Oooooh, I am madly in love with this one! Basically, it's my idea of the perfect scent. Fresh, light, floral, clean, nature-y...it smells like fresh mountain air and I love it! I think I'ma need a full bottle of this one. I hope it doesn't sell out for awhile!
  16. I caved and just sent Jon a message to add a bottle of Atomic Mandarin to my order. I don't think it's shipped yet so hopefully it can be done! I hate myself a teensy bit right now.
  17. I wore this one yesterday. I like it! I thought it would be more aquatic, but I got mostly berries, as did my neighbour, who was visiting and whom I ask to smell my perfumes on a regular basis. So I'm a bit surprised that so many didn't get any blueberry! That's what I got the most. I don't have a lot to say about it other than I like it; it's really pretty and I'm glad to have a sample. I would have to try it again in the future to decide if I'd want a full bottle or not.
  18. Oooh, goody! I wondered why it wasn't on Etsy. I thought that meant it was all gone. *toddles off to email John* ETA: Then again, Inspire Desire is nice, too...I just haven't reached the "i"s yet. Gah!
  19. So you're the culprit! I knew it wasn't sold out when I first put it on my spreadsheet! If you ever get tired of it...I will take it off your hands!
  20. Thank you, that's what I did. I just wasn't sure if this was a "special" set and the price would be different or something. I think it's sorted, though.
  21. Well, what can I say about this one? The scent reminded me of something, but I couldn't think of what--then it hit me. I am from a small town where there is very little to do. The ONE thing there was to do when I was a teenager--to my mother's and grandmother's chagrin, who thought it unladylike--was hang out in the pool hall. This scent reminds me of the pool hall! This is back in the day when nobody really cared if people smoked indoors or around underaged people. Oh, how I miss that pool hall! Let me tell you about it... On the outside, there were crumbling cement steps leading up to the door. Once in the door, you went to your left into a bare, empty room. It was always cold and drafty. There was an edge of excitement there--what would happen tonight? Would there be any new and/or interesting guys there? Maybe a crush? Then through another door to the actual pool hall (which was much warmer!). Right to the left of this door was the counter where the owner, John, took payments and talked with people. It wasn't a terribly big room, but enough for about 4 or 5 antique pool tables (some big, some smaller). You could smell the antique wood, mingled with cigarette smoke. There was a big grate in the floor where the cigarette butts seemed to end up. Then, in back, another small room with a ping-pong table. The lighting wasn't exactly dark, but it wasn't bright, either. It was muted. Its gloom fit the place. No windows were in the room with the pool tables. Pool cues hung in racks on the wall. John was nice to us kids, and he didn't really have too many rules. I think you had to be 12 or 14 or something like that in order to go in there (except on Halloween, when kids could go in for treats). Other than that, he didn't like it if you knocked the ball on the floor, or did anything that might damage the felt on the tables. He taught us how to hold the cue, and how to line up a shot. He gave us a place to go; to hang out. Where I'm from, that was sorely needed. The combination of the colognes and perfumes of the patrons of the pool hall, the cigarette smoke, and the wood added up to a scent that is very similar to Crayons: Burnt Umber. It is hauntingly familiar to me for that reason. Oh god, I miss that place so much! The fact that it's gone now makes me want to cry. I often came out of there with a headache and smelling of smoke, but I loved every second of it. For that reason, I adore this scent. Unfortunately, it doesn't really work on my skin. It's all smoke and no perfume. But I will treasure it in the vial, and remember wistfully the place that represents my teenaged years.
  22. Well, I normally have no desire to smell like a cupcake, but I would have to make an exception for this one. I tried it yesterday and it is mouthwatering! The only problem is, it really makes me want cupcakes! lol. Preferably orange-flavoured. I am sad that it is sold out. I kind of want a full bottle now. I swear it wasn't sold out when I first entered it into my spreadsheet? Or maybe I entered it wrong, idk. Anyway, the scent stayed true throughout the day, meaning it didn't really change from the scent in the vial. Maybe it got a teensy bit more cakey. It lasted well, too--all day. I really like this one.
