  1. When and how do we pay for these? I'm stalking the main page for the January releases...once they're up, should I just ask to be invoiced for everything?
  2. Finally, a gemstone one that behaved itself on my skin! First impression was wet, juicy, deep red berries, although now, in the vial, I'd swear I smell roses along with those berries...not sure where that's coming from. Does rosewood smell like roses? I don't know my notes. Anyway, it's gorgeous. It actually reminds me very much of Ruby Red, although Ruby Red seems "drier" somehow, without that floral edge. On my skin, A Treasure of Rubies stayed pretty true to the scent in bottle, although it settled down after awhile to a soft, sweet musky fragrance. Very perfumey, but in a good way. This is another one that requires further testing, sometime in the future.
  3. I love it in the bottle. This scent starts out dusty and powdery on me. After awhile, it settles down into a very soft, subtle, sweet fragrance. Once again, my skin eats the juicy sweetness I smell in the vial, and leaves me with a dry, sugary scent. It's pleasant, but it doesn't stand out at all. It may be one that I need to try again after awhile. I love the concept of it! I wish I got the feeling of being drenched in liquid gold!
  4. Well, what the heck, I might as well review it while this thread is bumped. I. LOVE. THIS. SCENT. OMG, I love it so much. I want to marry it and have its babies. I bought it on a whim as a last-minute add on from the trade board. And now it's one of my absolute favourites! I am very picky about scents, so that is saying a lot. It might even be my very favourite; I haven't decided yet. Sometimes I wear it to bed. I keep it near me always so I can just smell it whenever I want to. It's that good. What I get is a beautiful, rich, lush white floral. Maybe a touch of the jungle. I just sniffed it again--DEFINITELY a touch of the jungle. It's sweet, but not too sweet, and almost has a bit of an exotic, fruity tang to it. I have no idea what's in it--I didn't even know it had leather until I read this thread. That is good because I was hesitant about leather in scents, but now I know not to be afraid of it. I also read that it has lily, which makes total sense to me. It brings to mind a large, white flower (lily, I suppose) blooming at the base of a tree in the rainforest. It's shady and somewhat cool in the rainforest, and you're exploring the river in a small rowboat. You spot this flower and catch a whiff of its heady aroma on the banks of the river, so you move closer. It's too intoxicating to resist. As you move closer, you catch a glimpse of white fur as a snow leopard moves off, spooked by your presence. Somehow you know that there is something special--magical--about this flower. ETA: Suddenly I'm stricken with panic that I'll run out and won't be able to find any more. This is a bit ridiculous because I still have an almost-full bottle. I just really love it.
  5. Gah, I don't know what any of this is...or what it smells like! But I'm so curious... Is there another name for storax? It escapes me but I'm sure there is. I want the lavender one and the black leather/white lace one, too, but I don't think I can afford them all. Sadness.
  6. You ordered it already? Is it up? *wanders off to look*
  7. Hi Wendy, If you have Adblock, you might not be able to see the labels unless you tell it not to run on this page. I know I keep doing that every time the new releases come out, and I have no idea they're even there until someone mentions how pretty they are, lol. Thank you...for some reason I thought these were $39.99.
  8. I have it! I will be testing ATO Gold and ATO Rubies first, and then I believe ATO Silver's next. I do like fruity scents. But yeah, chocolate seems to be a no.
  9. These gemstone (A Treasure of...) ones are vexing me! Argh! I want to love them but they won't cooperate! I can't really review this one well, except to say that in the bottle, I got chocolate, and on me I got chocolate--for about half an hour, tops. Then it just...disappeared. I never had a scent disappear on me like that. I don't know what to make of it! I guess if I hold my wrists right up to my nose, I can detect the faintest hint of...something. But I mean it's REALLY faint. So it would seem that this is not a scent for me. I had my misgivings about the chocolate note, anyway. I've only met one scent with a chocolate note that I like so far, and it's an off-ranch one (I think it's called AXS). Odd because I loooove actual chocolate!
  10. I'm basing my want of Wendy's Liquid Mystery entirely on the label at this point... How much are these, anyway?
  11. Oh dear... May I reserve a Jennifer's Opal*, Wendy's Liquid Mystery, and Lina's Little Mermaid* (if this is the "beachy" one she requested), please?
  12. This one was another surprise to me. These gemstone ones are full of surprises! In the bottle I get the ocean. I'd swear that there was seaweed in it, but I guess it's just the aquatic accords. Is there saltwater? Because it has a bit of a briny edge to it at first for me. After wearing it for a bit, it turns all powdery and soft, but still with an aquatic undertone. Honestly, I thought I'd like it more because I like the "wet" scents. But I almost feel like my preferences change sometimes with some scents...like I'll like a scent one day and won't the next, or vice-versa. This happens a lot. So maybe I'm just not in an "aquatic" mood right now? I dunno. I'll have to try it again sometime. Don't get me wrong; I don't dislike it. It's just not one that's making me snuffle my wrists constantly.
  13. Gotcha! But who is Lady Suzy? I haven't seen any poster by that name.
  14. I haven't done one either. I'd like to someday, but I don't know how I'd limit myself to 4 notes.
  15. Is anyone going to be able to look at or use Bawdy Babe now without thinking about Lady V?
  16. I am confused about the name of this one (love the scent, BTW, although it smells much more "innocent" to me than it sounds here!). Is it Lady V's Snow Leopard or Lady Suzy's Snow Leopard?
  17. I can't wait to read all about them! I'm most curious about the Punxsutawney Immortality Elixir (a little nod to Groundhog Day there, I'm assuming?) and the Petal Pusher.
  18. This scent was a total surprise to me. I LOVE it in the bottle. My thought upon first sniff was that somehow, it actually smells like "purple." I don't know how something can smell like purple, but this does. Maybe it's due to all the purpleliciousness that lives in it. Full disclosure: I'm a bit of a purple fanatic. At any rate, sadly, it totally changes on my skin. ALL the beautiful sweetness disappears, leaving me with a "spicy" smell that I can't identify. Maybe it's the amber? It doesn't smell bad, it just doesn't smell like I expected it to. My husband sniffed my wrist and told me that it almost smelled like cantaloupe. I didn't get that, myself, but I am a weirdo who puts salt on my cantaloupe so what do I know? Before trying it, I was considering a full bottle. But after trying it, sadly, I don't think it would work for me. I intend to try everything all over again some other time, and see if anything turns out different. This will definitely be one that I will try again before I give up on it completely.
  19. Yes! A very relaxing, maybe nighttime scent.
  20. Gotcha, thanks everyone for the explanation. I think I'll be getting a sample set, too. I thought maybe it was the thing where you can buy the entire monthly set in full bottles. That's a thing, right? Although I guess it wouldn't be a "sampler" then...
  21. I got this from Seajammarket as one of the MANY generous free samples she sent me to try when I ordered a couple of her full bottles. And I'm finding it really, really hard to review! I don't know what to make of it. I don't get any green at all. I don't really get much creaminess, either. What do I get? I don't know...I think it's mostly allspice...but it brings to mind an image of a dark street in the French Quarter at night. I just...don't really know why. In another thread, I mentioned that I received it on Jan. 5th (yesterday), and then found that Jan. 5th IS 12th Night and the beginning of the Mardi Gras season, so I thought that was just perfect. Too perfect to resist, actually. I like the concept of having a certain scent for a certain day. So back to the actual scent...I really like it in the bottle, but I can't figure out WHY! It's NOTHING like my usual preference of florals or berries or greens (like I said, I don't get any "green" out of it). On my skin, it turns all spicy. Not my thing usually, but with this, I just don't know. Not the most helpful review, sorry! One thing I can say for certain is that it faded really quickly on me. I would say it lasted 4 hours, tops.

    Kiss of Nectar

I didn't pick up on the butterscotch until I read the other reviews here, but what I got was an intoxicating, flowery honey. Now I get the butterscotch, but it's not...I don't know how to describe it. I don't really like butterscotch because the smell of it, for some reason, makes my throat hurt. Almost like it gives off fumes. That is not the case with this scent. It's smooth and rich, but not cloying. I wore it yesterday and kept catching a delightful whiff of it, which made me happy every time it happened. After wearing it yesterday, I added it to my "potentially want a full bottle" list. (ETA: On my label it says "A Kiss of Nectar," hence my trying it as an "a" scent with my alphabetical trials).
