  1. So far in my phero journey it seems as though my hubby doesn't really react to cops. Decided to give OCCO white another run today since we are just taking care of mundane household chores. As I was getting ready to do the dishes the hubby came in and asked what the stink was. I gave him my wrist and asked if it was me. ( I've had some reactions to cops like " wet dog and cat pee" so I was preparing for disappointment) " mmmmm, no it's not you, that smells good, oh wait that's vanilla roma, reminds me of my 78 camero when I was young. OMG, that's definitly not you, you wear that around any car guy and they are going to get a hard on." Apparently OCCO white is reminiscent of the vanilla Roma tree air freshener for cars, at least to the MR. Score one for finally getting a reaction. The "smell" was actually the dish that had some leftover broccoli bits in it I was getting ready to wash. Thank goodness, I personally love OCCO white.
  2. Thank you StacyK That's really helpful, I'm not a fruit or floral girl but I love resins and vanilla. Loving the reference to putting sugar in coffee. I do read through a lot of threads on here but sometimes searching is difficult for specific things. I am partial to LP red, but I'm trying to keep EOW ( and other phero blends) as a separate component to wear with whatever and when I want. Like the layering ability of the OCCO's. On its own it simply does not dry down on me for hours so it's hard to spend that much time walking around waiting to get dressed. Desperately trying not to have say, 6 bottles of LP red, each with a different phero blend, multiplied by every fragrance I like, does that make sence? I already have a set of shelves dedicated just to essential oils. I've been blending oils for more than 20 years but only ventured into pheros this year, I'm mostly a purist and only use essentials, ottos, and absolutes, though I know there are some fragrance components you simply can not achieve that way. So my hope was to ask more experienced users for advice in order to keep from wasting costly ingredients. My LP addiction actually started just based on the knowledge of folkloric ingredients that Mara possesses. When I first found LPMP My thoughts were " damn, here's someone who has done their homework, and it sounds delicious". I love bittersweet and LP latte but the hubby is sensitive and does not like anything that has a strange chocolate smell, he really dislikes velvet kisses. Though he likes cocoa absolute right out of the bottle, perhaps I'll see how that works on its own to lessen dry down time for me, and how layerable it is with other fragrances. Thanks so much to everyone for their insight this far, I'll try to post any successes or failures as I experiment.
  3. I'm absolutely in love with this, for me it's a bit sweet and incense-y, my skin eats it rather quickly though. I decided to decant some and make a spray, it lasts forever on clothing, it was almost a shame to wash the sweater I wore more than a week ago, it still smelled divine.
  4. I ordered the trial size EOW last November, it should last you a long time through many experiments. You should definitly smell EOW on its own, it's pretty smelly. I don't seem to mind cops in anything blended by LPMP. I'm also looking forward to the sale to try some new ones.
  5. Thanks Dolly, I'm thinking 1 drop of EOW to a 1ml roller bottle, they actually hold 1.5, that should do it right? Seems so odd that one little drop is so powerful. I actually don't mind the smell, but last time I wore EOW, just a little swipe, torso and smeared with wrists, I went to a restaurant about an hour and a half later and some young men walked in behind me and loudly stated that something smelled like baby powder and wet dog. I was careful not to get it on clothes and hair but I can only assume I was the culprit. I was wearing kitten heels which definitly goes powdery on me.
  6. It was a great night, and piecing together what transpired the next morning was fun too. Cheers to finally being a cheap date! Here's the only evidence I can share, or willing to.. Somehow I managed not to dent the hood, hubby was happy about that, though he did help me get on the hood to begin with.
  7. I hate to leave 3 in a row here, doesn't anyone else play with this? Last Thursday the hubby and I went to the Rocky Horror Picture show, we live in small town America so this isn't a normal event. It had been 25 years since I had last been in a theater for this. Decided to give audacious another go for the occasion. I dressed as Magenta, frizzed out hair, exposed thigh highs, the works. When I entered the theater a group of people did a double take and let us walk by saying " OMG you look just like her". For someone who was a cast member in her youth ( I'm not so adventurous these days )the evening wasn't too impressive, but still fun for a night out. Fast forward to the bar down the st, there were a few other people from the show there, some in lingerie, and the locals were a little surprised but said nothing. At no other time of the year can you get away with being in a public bar in your underwear, at least not here. A few beers later the hubby and I hit the dance floor in a sea of college students, then the DJ played 1985, hubby and I were the only people in the bar who had even been conceived by 85 so we decided to leave. Laughing about the content of that song I decided I needed to get up on the hood of his car, dressed as an overly pale and slutty maid, and go all Tawny Kitaen on a public st outside the bar, no music. "In the still of the night" playing loudly ,in my own head. I only had 3 beers and let's just say I can drink. The next morning I woke up with thigh highs still on, make up, and a fro, clothes were scattered from the front door and seeing the hubby's belt in the entryway made me recall some things. What a night...
  8. That was my plan of action, ( adding EOW to a scent, I didn't express that correctly ) i have plenty of 1 ml roller bottles. I haven't been able to use EOW on its own, also tried diluting 50/50 with more DPG. It just won't dry down on me. I love the OCCO white, but have a bottle of EOW to use. Since I already have the bottle I wanted to try and make my own "OCCO" so to speak. Wondering what single scent may cover well to layer with other fragrances. I think I like to keep my cops and pheros separate from my perfumes for the most part, premix is convenient at home but I've found I travel with too many bottles that way. ( I can travel with one fragrance but hate not to have multiple phero options) Thanks for the advice everyone, I think I'll try just some vanilla and see how that goes, I really can't think of much that vanilla won't layer well with. I travel a lot, and refuse to check bags, So you can imagine that sometimes I contemplate going without some other toiletries to make room for smelly stuff. You can only put so much in a sandwhich bag.
  9. I'm such an asshat! I saw there was new content on this thread, started skimming the posts, got all excited about it and then realized they were for last year. ( after going to the .com and etsy to order ) ok, be calm, ...also just realized I lost or misplaced my bottle of TH. Seriously twitching to order ; )
  10. Anyone have an idea of what type of single scent can be mixed with EOW just to take the funk down a little at application? EOW takes forever to dry down on me, actually I'm not sure it ever goes away, I can smell it for hours. I have an insane amount of essentials, absolutes and fragrance oils to try. What type of scents work best to cover cops? My preferences are ambers and vanilla, earthy sweet spice types. I have OCCO, LAM, & BAM but would like to just put a little of a single scent into my EOW a to take the edge off. i love to experiment but would like to keep product waste to a minimum.
  11. Welcome, and happy exploration!
  12. This isn't something I would have tried on my own, you would have lost me with all the floral elements, my last order came with a sample of vampire bait. The hubby immediately said it smelled good when I opened it. He isn't usually very reactive unless I ask for an opinion. It starts out clean and fresh on me, then gets nicely but not overly sweet in 15 min, turning to soft slightly sweet floral in an hour or so. I usually do not like floral with the exception of Bulgarian rose Otto and that must still be blended with woods or Amber. I'm really surprised that I like this and it has staying power. I just put a little swipe in the cleveage and split on my wrists, it smelled soft and amazing when I woke this morning.
  13. Impatiently waiting, credit card cocked and loaded, fingers twitching
  14. Just got some samples In the post yesterday, wearing LAM brown sugar for the day. I've been feeling kind of bad ass and proud of myself today, working things out in quick fashion. The hubby and I went in search of some costumes for a couple different occasions. I had a great time helping a grown man dress in drag in the fitting room at spirit Halloween this afternoon. So not the normal me but I explained to him how to get a bodice on, picked out a pair of rhumba bottom briefs, attached his fishnet stockings to his garter belt for him and showed him how to put on a wig and pin it up to look better and keep it out of his face. A great time for customers and staff. The stranger, while waiting with me ( & the hubby ) for a fitting room, he got super comfy and had no issue asking for our opinion and assistance with getting some pretty modest sized items on. (His buddy didn't seem to want to get that involved ) I don't normally get on my knees for complete strangers and get all personal with their hosiery, in public. We left with nothing but fond memories of someone we didn't know landing his costume, and us still on the hunt. The poor kid handling the fitting room was a bit DIHL and having the time of his life. Kept insisting I come out front in the store in each costume I tried. I found what I needed within 15 min at the goodwill For under $4 after trying on at least 6 $50 cheap commercial costumes. Looking forward to my future experiments with this.
  15. I made a 2 ml spray of honeyed LP with gotcha, spritzed a little onto a sweater, no noticeable cop smell and 3 days later my sweater still smells divine.
  16. Thanks!I'm going to convert a bit into a spray and give it a go. Sadly the men in my life don't seem to react to gotcha but I like the selfies and wear fragrance for me in most cases anyway. Loving the honeyed LP with gotcha, though it's rather light on my skin, perhaps it will have a bit more endurance in spray and on fabric for me.
  17. I'm so sorry I missed this one, snow leopard is my totem animal. I was just considering asking Mara for a personal blend when I found this mentioned in another review thread. Though I'm not overly fond of floral, I would have loved to have tried this.
  18. That's great info, I have the honeyed LP with gotcha but haven't been able to really try it. I too am Irish and an expensive date, paired with insomnia. Perhaps whatever residual gotcha I've worn will help my sleep meds work at the end of the day. I rarely take them as I'm not into pharma but after a few restless nights I have to admit defeat. Im thinking of making a small bottle in spray for better diffusion, has anyone experienced any negatives with this blend in terms of having it on clothing or in hair?
  19. Thanks so much for responding, we have limited time together so having "off" days isn't really favorable. I've noticed with TH he gets a doey eyed look, is more vocally appreciative of the things I do and comments how if we spent more time together he may actually be able to gain a few pounds. I tried cuddle bunny during our last weekend together and I may as well have had the plague.
  20. 2nd time wearing UN audacious, layered with sarasvati today. I unconsciously channeled Stevie Nicks getting dressed and went about my day. While running mundane errands I came up with an idea for a series of tasteful nude self portraits, hoping I follow through with that since I've been on a bit of a photographic drought. Returned home and had a nasty pluming issue ( garbage disposal explosion ) that I somehow managed to handle with a sense of dignity and grace rather than sobbing profanities. Nothing to comment on as far as reactions from other people but I'm definitly all good with me today, looking forward to further exploration with this one.
  21. I'm curious, has anyone noticed a certain personality type that doesn't react well to Est? Some type of forward indicator that may signify a bad reaction? For example, my BF is not a coddle type, you have to have a strength and self sufficiency about you, though he is very sensitive and emotional. He's really good around other people's children but has none of his own. In hindsight, I've definitly gotten hits from him with SS4w, but nothing with cuddle bunny or gotcha.
  22. Thanks Dolly, that's actually why I ask. I've had a great lovey response from TH but the couple of times I've tried sexology I either don't recall any reaction or a bit of anxiety from the BF.
  23. Has anyone tried this combo? Thoughts or experiences on possible reactions? Would this be similar to sexology?
  24. So far I've had good responses to TH around my BF and extended gypsy family. Recently tried OW, still experimenting with this but I think I get a much more obvious reaction to TH. So now I'm trying to determine if H&S needs to be in my arsenal or not, are they different enough to have all three? I'm mostly interested in helping keep a happy, lovey vibe around my often stressed out friends and family. It seems TH also gave me the benefit of some appreciation for the things I do normally. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
