I appreciate the above review and hope there are more of you who've tried this and might post about it. This is the one I am most curious about from this 2-monthly set recently released. Feedback can be about the scent or its purpose. Curious about both.

Hi..I have been trying for days now to see full descriptions of the newest items by clicking "more info" links on the perfumerie page as well as other parts of this site and cannot get anything but "page not found" errors when doing so. What I am trying to see are more detailed ingedient/note listings as we usually see, and which I can still find for older items. Whats going on? PS: I can see the full description for Fairy Lure and Forever After but not the others.

This is one I tried first as a sample, then got a full bottle of. This one needs time to develop on skin to get it's full effect.(it is after all ,chock full o' basenotes) At first it seemed "nice but not OMG" but after a few minutes and for hours afterwards I would catch this scent wafting up into consciousness ,causing me to stop whatever I was doing to say (to myself) "Wow, what IS that?" I don't know what kind of sandalwood was used.. I know the Indian stuff is very restricted now and hard to get, but whatever type of sandalwood or sandalwood accord was used to achieve the sandalwood note is GREAT! It lasts and lasts and blends beautifully with everything else in there. I was undecided about using it for the intent its made for at first..I guess I wanted to test it out first before offering it in memory. But it does smell suitable for its intent and just plain good outside of that consideration so I decided to get a full bottle after all. I like that the intent reflects aspects of my family's heritage. That makes it seem especially suitable for me. I will be traveling soon and part of that trip will involve going to pay respects to relatives passed on. This will be good for me to use for more private observances prior to my trip as well as during.

I ended up getting not one but two bottles of this. What a changeling this scent is on me. To be honest, it was the protective intent that attracted me most of all and inspired me to get my first bottle. At first I could barely detect it. Next time I tried it, it was cinnamon backed with resins/incense. Nice, but I was thinking "maybe a bit much cinnamon?" The third time I tried it, I could smell this lovely incense around me that lasted hours, but was not overpowering. My friend's husband detests most perfume but THIS one he thought was some incense wafting from somewhere and he did not realize it was perfume. I've received nice comments on this once people realize the scent is coming from me, not somewhere in the environment. Maybe the bottle needed to "settle" a bit and deepen after my first try or maybe my sense of smell was terribly off. This isn't that faint a scent, though it may register to others as a nice incense emanating from SOMEwhere. The cinnamon likewise has toned down since my first two applications and while it is still there, it is more in the form of lending a nice warmth and spice to what is otherwise a very incensy blend on me. Well, after I witnessed how well received it was by others, then thought about how useful the intent was especially since I will be traveling soon for quite a time, it seemed appropriate to get a second bottle. One to bring with me, one to be there upon my return. Nicely done Ladies! I'm glad I took a full bottle chance on this and glad I got a second bottle too.

Ah yes..I quickly noted the Love Potions trademark on the image and thought it part of the name. Potion 31 then..I want it. Looking over the other descriptions a second time now..seeing what else I might want. hmm..maybe Soul Food too.

Thanks Curiouschic for asking about my viewing problem and thanks to IvoryPixie for the sweet offer to email me the pix..but I went over to my kid's computer and was able to see everything there. The label for "Bohemian Life" is gorgeous..both male and female versions. The scent sounds nice too! I am definitely going to order Native Soil. Carpe Noctum and Love Potion 31 also sound neat.

I DO wonder why I have been unable to see images in the new releases thread and some parts of this site starting several months ago. *grumps* The first two posts in this thread are completely blank for me. Is it a function of my over-vigilant pop up blocker? I do see mention of Native Soil in one of the posts. Now that is cool..I wanted to try it but couldn't find it for sale anywhere once I realized I might like it. So now I get a second chance..yay.

I too prefer this to the women's counterpart. I JUST put some on to test and so far, its one of my favorites of the monthly sampler. I'll see how my husband likes it when he gets home but I suspect it will be just his thing.

OOH..its up now and everything sounds fantastic. Good work all involved! I'm getting samples of all!! Big bottles depending on how they work on my skin.

I have already decided to get the monthly sampler. I think it will be very fun to try these collaborative scents.

This was a sneaky variation on Love Potion. The sample vial did not at first overwhelm me with WOW but as months went by this scent quietly crept up to a top rated place in my affections. Maybe the greenery was not what I was craving back when it first came out but as summer goes on this blend works perfectly with the heat,sun,humidity and scents of plants everywhere. When the generous sample vial ran out I had to get a large bottle.I was wearing this way more than I realized!

Lets see...a slight amount of change since I last posted in this thread. 1. Love Potion Black (still up there) 2. Spider Silk (still on the list) 3. Turkish Delight (newcomer to the top five list) 4. Cleopatra's Blend ..2008 version ( I now prefer this year's blend to last yers) 5. Love Potion Green (newcomer..and oddly, I wasn't immediately wowed by this sample and so put it away a while but suddenly now I am in love with it and got the full bottle) It was REALLY hard to pick five and this list will probably shift with seasonal changes upcoming.

Today my package arrived and I got to try the Egyptian incense Danna makes. (the regular one, not the rose variant) It is simply wonderful! I had read about kyphi but never actually burned any..it burns much less smokily than regular resin incenses do. The scent is sweet,resinous and very exotic. I will have to order more! Thanks for making this available to us Danna.

Oh yay..my husband LOVES Cleopatra's Blend on me..glad to see there will be a 2008 version. I KNOW for certain I am getting a full bottle of that. Venetian Courtesan sounds like something I would like very much..ah, what the heck, I'll go for a monthly sampler again..hard to decide what I might want full bottles of. Many of them sound great.

Well, hubby just came home raving about how he loves this scent, how it lasted all day and how people at work loved it on him. He did say some commented (favorably) on the maple syrup aspect of it. I went and ordered a bottle for him. (Hopefully this order can be added to my one from yesterday and save LPMP postage and packing materials.)

Well.. I might have to get another bottle of this. Who knew my husband would like this best of all from the monthly sampler..for HIMSELF!

Man, this is GOOD! My husband did not like the first minute of this scent but then liked it afterwards,once it settled down. I love every bit of it. Hubby is wearing the sample today and will let me know if he wants a full bottle. I hope he does...but if not, I just might get this for myself. The pipe tobacco in this is really luxurious smelling.

Ha..so I wasn't having an olfactory hallucination. Yeah, I thought I smelled MJ in the background there. Yeah, this is definitely as advertised. Those with fond remberances of the 60's/early '70s will want this as might younger ones who want to do a time machine perfume trip. (goes to put on a tie-dye shirt)

Well, I DID end up ordering this in full bottle size after realizing I was reaching for the sample quite often. It does have that comfort-inducing quality Spider Silk has.

I just got my sample of this today and just got done ordering a full bottle of it. (along with some other ones). I prefer this to Raqs Sharqui actually. I love the sweet-incense of it and it has a brightness and freshness (due to the lemon,mint rose) that makes it a good exotic for warmer weather. How this scent evolves on me: The first,most apparent notes ,are the sweetness and lemon. Rose at first takes a back-seat. I do not detect much obvious mintyness..perhaps it is part of the initial impression of freshness I get when the scent is first applied. The lemon fades as rose becomes more apparent..but it is a soft,delicate rose. Not a "hello, I am ROSE" note. The incensey-ness of this scent actually grows with time and lasts and lasts. Yay! It settles down ultimately to a sweet incensey delight gently backed by subtle roses. Hope that review helps some of you thinking about whether to get this.

I am so looking forward to all the new blends. I just went with the monthly sampler this time. I simply could not decide what to get! Bravo to all who contributed the ideas for this month's blends.

This is very much reminiscent of LP Black,with an herbaceous/woody tone to it.

That hotel is really cool looking. As for new releases: Lets see, my husband LOVES his Phero Boy, so along with another full bottle of that, got a sample of the Super Phero for men. Decided to try a sample of the female super phero version..out of curiosity. I got samples of each listed below: Honeyed Seductions sounds amazing..I love violets (so does my daughter..we might end up fighting for this one) Taxed : the soothing properties and scent notes both appeal. I might like this on hand when I am in one of my obsessively worried-for-no-good-reason states of mind. Allegro sounds like a great idea but I am not sure such a fruity blend will work for me..still, the properties are what sells me on trying it. A Happiness blend! Something to ground me in my fortunate present reality. 976 girl...its about the notes for this one. I LOOVE resins..and chai spices? yummy sounding. Bravado: Are y'all mind readers? I need something with these properties right about now. Not that anyone is intimidating me, but more for reminding me to get a handle on my irrational fears and worries. 21st century venus: all the notes sound like ones my husband will love. Possibly even on himself.
