  1. Got my notification! ALWAYS good news when you get those notices!
  2. I got a couple of Drive By Fruitings. Not sure if they are phero'd or not, but I really wanted to try the scent since I never have. Mara really went all out with some beautiful scent and phero blends this time around for sure!
  3. Hello and weelcome, CerisLou!
  4. LOL Patchjulie! Too funny! Maililyahn, some of the pheros can definitely do that. For instance, if you look up the description for Perfect Match, it says it brings that butterflies in the tummy feeling that is reminiscent of when a couple first met. That little rush of excitement. Now if I think about it that way, I definitely understand the concept of feeling the phero effects physically.
  5. I am going to have to get around to giving this another try. I was on antibiotics when I tried and that can definitely alter a fragrance. Will post back with results.
  6. Love it. It is exactly what it's name implies implies. Beautiful, basic, delicious vanilla. Plain and simple. With respect to layering, the possibilities are considerable.
  7. I agree with Lovestruck. While this one is all sweet creamy goodness all on its own, I can not imagine anything you could layer it with not benefiting from its presence. If you have something that is just way too sharp, I feel pretty confident that this would take the edge off of it and calm it right down. I love it!
  8. On my skin, this was all sugary, classic birthday cake frosting. Yummy for sure, but alas, no cake. I am thinking that if I layered it with a creamy, buttery vanilla that it might level things on my skin so that it really comes through as true sugar bomb frosted cakiness. But, happily, I got no essence of plastic from it at all. Will experiment for sure.
  9. This is so, SO beautiful! And yummy too! This is a lovely, true Strawberry scent and my head is spinning with the myriad possibilities with this. I can imagine this with chocolate. I can envision it coupling beautifully with Sugared Roses AND Chocolate, and also the obvious cream, but really, I can see myself wearing it just as it is in all its bright and delicious Strawberry glory. YUM!!!
  10. I am going to have to second ElizabethOsp' s sentiments on this one. I love Oak moss, I really do and this smells so very close to the genuine thing, that I would be hard pressed to distinguish between this and the real thing. As for me, I can not wear Oakmoss neat, but it is an ingredient that is present in many complex and classic commercial fragrances that I tend to favor. Widely used in Oriental blends and others, it is very much a unisex scent. I would like this on a man either on its own or blended with other layerables. Leather would be amazing! I have many experiments in mind for this one! Brilliantly done Mara!
  11. I got a trial size decant of this from a very kind forum member. Wow! This is spot on ROSE all the way. It's roses, but, dare I say it, better. Better, because the sugar seems to take that edge that some roses seem to have to their scent. Gentler, more well rounded, almost a hint of a slight rose milk quality. Softened. The sugar seems to keep the fragrances in this collection from being too spikey. I can see me mixing this with LOTS of different Sugareds! And I will.
  12. So happy to hear you found your perfect potion. It's such a blessing when you find the right one to soothe you.
  13. Wow, this is really interesting. If you consider that heightened senses come with certain psychic phenomenon, ..for instance, clairvoyant is vision, clairaudient, hearing, clairsensient , is feeling, then smell would be...what? Maybe it is something like that?
  14. Scent perception is so cool! It's back to the fact also, that Mara does not use a stabilizer. Y'know.. I was thinking about this the other day and recalled a commercial perfume back in the 70s that my Mom and I shared. It was called "You're the Fire," and they promoted it as an incense like perfume that was designed to smell distinctively different on everyone who wore it. It smelled a bit different on my mom than it did on me, but not TOO much. Then again, we were close blood relatives. They probably left out the stabilizer too. And BTW, I love that perfume' s name!
  15. Funny... I amp the vanilla and (is it brown sugar?) in LP Black, but totally get the *very* sexy incensey thing from OCCO Black. Togther, in Dom Noir..OMG, they slay!!! In the best way possible!
  16. WildAutmn, would your sister be open to the concept of using pheros? I mean even for a mood lift. Let's face it, everyone finds a cheery person more attractive than a depressed or desperate one. I prefer to focus on pheros that enhance MY mood. I figure I'll be happier and if I am more attractive because of that, then it's a double WIN!
  17. I'm sorry HappyGoSkillfully and Mara. I should have elaborated. HGS, The reason that Mara is saving that people will go through the sprays faster, and that is the truth, is because due to the considerable alcohol content in sprays, the scent evaporates much faster. This leads to needing to re apply more often. Oils have less throw, but are more concentrated and tend to linger. If there is one scent you are set on, and want to go for the gusto so to speak then layering with both usually yields the best results, so I would buy the one scent in both forms. I hope I have helped and not complicated things. BTW, if you go for spray, you can buy little totally totable mini spray bottles to take with you and freshen up your scent when out and about. Much better than risking breaking a FB glass vial of oil!
  18. Hi HappyGoskillfully. Just contemplating why it is that women don't seem to be commenting on the scents you are wearing. All I can come up with is this: Are you wearing them in roll on oil form or spray form? The reason I ask is that some people just don't pick up on scents that don't have REALLY strong throw to them. Oils tend to have much less throw than sprays. If you are going to try a full bottle, maybe you could give the spray form a try? I totally get what you are saying about wearing scents for yourself and I am the same way, but it *is* nice to have others comment on what out are wearing. In a positive way of course! LOL Anyway, I read your post and just thought I'd mention the whole oil verses spray thing. Enjoy your awesome scents!
  19. OMG! I didn't think any of the December releases were *me* scents and I just noticed Elfin Plum! In my excitement, I totally missed this one somehow. I just pulled the trigger on a FB of this one It sounds so beautiful!
  20. SJM, you are *awesome*!!! Threefold blessings to you for being such a nice person!
  21. LMAO!!! *This* was the vibe I got from how this scent morphed on me! NOT sleepy, SEXY!!!! Glad I am not the only one who got that!
  22. These are SO worth the wait. Mara, I can only imagine the pace at which you are working to get these together for us and I just want to convey some appreciation and gratitude to you for *all* that you do. Thank you. Know how amazing you are. NOT a stupid question cutie.pie. I have had the same question myself, but I can honestly say that I have done this more than once with no problems. Not sure I *should* have done it, but I did.
  23. I like this one. A lot! Beach Goddess, if you haven't tried this, you might want to consider it. It's quite beautiful. My only reason for not being sure about a FB is that with my chemistry, upon dry down, it smells very much like OCCO Ambrosia. NOT a bad thing!!! I adore Ambrosia, but I am pretty well stocked up on it at three bottles. This potion is Mmmmmmm...yummy! Highly recommend!
  24. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Mara' s wax melts! My faves bar none and that's the truth PM.
