  1. No, I am not a floor person so I am not running around like a mad woman most of the time. I need more mental focus than anything but I haven't really noticed a drop in energy at all. I have been getting plenty of sleep though. I love my sleep and now that it is cool outside I am getting uninterrupted sleep which is amazing. For me, I found that it took the edge off the crazy, OMG, how are we going to get this all done?!? feeling. When I start focusing on all we have left to do I try to figure out how to get it all done and will likely have half a dozen things started all over the workshop in an attempt to get to them all. I could tell late tonight that there was no more BB left because I was looking at the clock and the list and the wall of frames and the large piece in front of me that needed to be finished, and the trash that needed to be taken out and all the other closing routine business that still wasn't done. I could feel the anxiety over all of it creeping back in. If this were a calm time then maybe it would make me sleepy. I am not sure. I would say give it a try though. Maybe on a shorter shift, if you have one? Or with some coffee back up.
  2. You are probably right about that. I plan on wearing something and levitation tomorrow while I am not working. Currently I have been wearing balm bomb but that is a temporary solution to the stress problem with production. Work will go back to being not so rushed in a few weeks and by February I will likely be bored out of my skull for a while until sales pick up again.
  3. I got this recently and have worn it a few times for different situations. First, I have a changing work schedule so right now with the Christmas season I might come home at 11:00 pm and then need to be up again at 7:30 am if my schedule changes from a closing shift to an opening shift. I had one of those recently and I knew that I was going to need to wind down pretty quickly and get some sleep. I used Balm Bomb for that and it helped do the trick. I went from work stressed to relaxed much more quickly. I read a few little tidbits on facebook and then went to sleep. Second, I used it yesterday before coming into work because I knew that I was going to be working with my framing manager and she is stressed ( climbing the walls, the end is nigh, we are not going to get this all done, we are doomed, DOOMED! ) I didn't want to catch the stressed because I find that productivity goes through the floor when I am like that not the other way around. (Working under pressure is fine but I am usually calm under pressure. Working while truly feeling like there is no way out of the hole we are in makes me unfocused. ) So I came in and started doing my job. She was stressed as usual. I smiled at her, agreed that we are all doomed and continued to work. Maybe thirty minutes into us working across from each other she has changed her mind. She looks around the room. "We are getting things done. Huh, this might be doable. We are probably still screwed but its better." I agree that it is looking better. She then decides to just not look at the other side of the room with the huge wall of frames still on it. For me personally, I found that I was much more calm about the situation and that was what I needed. And no Christmas customers were murdered. I might need a full bottle.
  4. Hi I love resin, spicy scents myself. The occasional sugary one. Often florals make my head hurt but sometimes they are done in a way that is light and nice. Kind of funny that I feel that way since I tend to like scents that are considered heavy. So, what is your favorite tarot deck?
  5. I ordered the November sampler. I am hoping that comes with a trial of megawatt? I tried to convince a co-worker that he wanted to share this sampler with me since there are so many men's scents but he decided not to. (something about Christmas and being responsible. Pah!) And also Ashes to Dust III and Eve of Darkness. Trial bottles because I need to be at least a little responsible myself.
  6. Forum boards have a different set of rules than normal html code. To link a webpage you can use webpage address[/url ] Just take the last space out of the second bracket to make it work. For a quote it is
  7. Thank you for the speedy shipping. It was wonderful to come home to something nice in the mailbox and with a pretty Christmas stocking too.
  8. I am still quite new myself. Hello and welcome. It is rather addicting. I am hoping my next paycheck has enough bonus to purchase more and I still haven't received the previous order I purchased. (Not because it is taking a long time but because I hadn't purchased it very long ago. Last week actually. >_>) Everyone here is very nice and incredibly helpful.
  9. I only notice it with the pheros. I will have to pay attention the next time I have a heavier scented regular perfume to see if I notice it in the same fashion but so far, no. The whole clairofactance thing sounds like it would be an amusing trait to give the main character in a dectective novel. It would be very unique and potentially cause entertaining problems. The main character wakes up smelling a fire, freaks out and frantically gets family and pets out of the house. They stand outside awkwardly for a bit before heading back inside to bed because there is NO fire. The next morning there is news of a huge fire that happened in the city somewhere the previous night...and it was suspected arson...dun dun dun!
  10. Wearing Dom Noire made my chest feel sort of fluttery, if that makes sense. It was the same with SS4W but slightly different. I will have to try both again. It is almost like my heart rate has sped up but not quite. I think it is sort of like Rose mentioned about the sensation of being attracted to someone (only without the someone ) At least for me. Sort of energizing and uplifting. I would say it was centered around where I had applied it, and my chest was one of those areas. I do kind of sense my perfume as an aura if it hasn't faded to the point that I can't smell it any longer. That is why cheap body sprays just seem like a waste of time, they barely seem to come off the skin. Of course we could just be crazy.
  11. Very seasonally appropriate, QG, and I see your stocking has been hung with care.
  12. I know a friend of mine gave off a sense of desperate. She is a beautiful person who is also funny and smart. She had a great job and owned her own house. In her career she was(is) extremely successful. There was nothing about her that screamed crazy or financially desperate but she talked about finding someone nearly all the time. She worried about it when she wasn't on a date. She discussed dates and potential dates with near obsession. I often thought that if I were a man that she would scare me off. You can't go out and simply see where it goes with such a person. She was expecting too much from each encounter. At some point she finally stopped looking for whatever reason. She was focused on herself for a bit and things going on in her life. Bam, met someone at a convention not long afterward. They've been together ever since. I know that she was happy, comfortable with herself and with friends when she met her future husband and I think that made a huge difference. That said I think that you might have something there with the idea that people produce different levels of pheromones and that people react to them differently. I know I reacted differently to the smell of different men in my life. The scent of my first husband always made me feel safe. He had a more cuddly vibe. He didn't look cuddly (Tall, thin and grumpy looking) but he smelled that way to me. An ex-boyfriend later was sexy but not comforting (His scent. He was plenty good at being comforting.) I had a hard time sleeping next to him. (He was also a furnace and he snored so that didn't help.) He always smelled very "alpha" to me if that makes sense. (And funny enough, he was not much taller than me and not very big. He did carry himself with plenty of confidence though. His demeanor said "don't mess with me, I can handle myself.") A later boyfriend was somewhere in between both and he smelled simply perfect to me. Both sexy and comforting. I could have wrapped myself up in his scent 24/7. Another interesting example of scent and how it affects the brain. I had a friend who has, to me, a very unique personal scent that is easily identified. I know him as a friend so I trust that scent. Once I was working as a receiving manager at a nature company. The store manager had hired a new guy. Something about him when I met him just seemed off to me. I didn't really trust him very much. (My guess would be his body language and later, while we worked, some of the things he said.) But he smelled a whole lot like my friend. So when my back was turned and I was working for a while without seeing him then I would be comfortable in his presence, then I would turn around and almost be startled to not see my friend there. Oh, right, its this guy. As it turns out, while we were all at lunch he said he had to go put his last paycheck from a previous employer into the bank. The assistant manager happened to show up to work and was walking up to the building while he was trying to unload merchandise from the work truck into his car. Creepy vibes were totally trustworthy. It was just weird that he smelled SO much like someone I knew and recognized by scent.
  13. Yeah, He loved that one. He also liked Lightning in a Bottle. The only scent he didn't like was Ladybird but I wasn't wearing it he was smelling the trial vial. I think he would have a different opinion of it on. I know I did. LP Red mixes on my skin very nicely. To me it just gets more wonderful, which is a nice change from regular perfumes.
  14. I love, love, love it. The sweet scent in the beginning is so luscious and rich. Then it melds with the spicy scent of cinnamon and the smooth amber and resins. It is just amazing. A co-worker came up to me to talk to me while I was wearing it the other day and took a deep breath. He said "Something smells good" and then he told me that I smelled like Christmas. It could be that he had Christmas on the brain (Tis the retail season) but I can see where the cinnamon and sweet might give that impression.
  15. Thank you for the welcome and thank you, Rose, for the advice. I am at "lunch" and I think I will put on some Lightning in a Bottle before I go back out there.
  16. Thank you for the welcome and the link. I -was- going to buy some essential oils to add to my collection but now I might need more trial sized bottles to play with. Do you think Open Windows is better for work or Levitation?
  17. Since I am no longer lurking I figured I should say hello. *waves* I go by Mai in many different games and several boards. I like art and making things when I am not gaming or working. I work as a framer in a craft store. I enjoy helping other people design and make things for themselves. I love solving creative problems. I am happy when a customer comes to pick up their framed artwork and absolutely loves the finished design. I found Love Potion Magical Perfumery from Amazon. I was looking for unscented pheromone blends to use as a base for the scents that I make and all these lovely perfumes kept coming up. I couldn't find the original base that I had so many years ago but Love Potion Red kept calling to me. I read a ton of reviews on it and one person said that she ordered it from the website because there were more choices of how it was made. So, I left Amazon and came over here. I have been wandering around and reading different threads ever since. I love Ladybird and LP:Red. I got Super Sexy for women. I am currently wearing that under one of my own scents and I love the combination. Most alcohol based perfumes give me a headache and often they don't smell very nice on me either. (or maybe they just smell bad to me.) I was introduced to perfume oils at a Renn Faire ages ago and it was like finally being allowed into perfume paradise. So now I am addicted. >_.> I love making scents. I love buying scents other people have made. I love wearing them and smelling them and making different products with them. (I don't sell my own. I have made some for people I know but very few. And my family is full of people who don't seem very interested at all. I was very disappointed. I was hoping to have guinea pigs, test subjects...I mean volunteers.) Oh, I did make a scent for a co-worker last week. It was based on the Green Lantern Oath because I am a geek and he loves all things Green Lantern so I figured he would enjoy it. I also directed him to the website here and told him he should order some trial sizes of the ones that interested him. (This all started because he loved what I was wearing and asked about it and it happened to be LP:Red.) Anyway, I am now considering which new lovely things to get. I might need a whole bottle of Ladybird. I was also looking at the Megawatt review thread and thinking that sounded very good for the holiday retail season. Of course Balm Bomb might be useful also. There are so many to choose from. I should probably stop rambling and try to get some sleep. *waves to everyone again*
  18. Thank you I will go find the introduction thread. I was reading whatever took my fancy at the moment and saw the review for this one and had to say that I quite like it. I also love LP Red but that is a different post.
  19. Hello Everyone. I have been mostly lurking since finding this site. I do love this scent though and several others that I have ordered. When I first smelled Ladybird I thought it was too sweet. (But I was smelling all the scents that I had bought and that's overload.) The next time I opened the bottle I thought it was a nice fruity sweet. It surrounds you with that scent in the beginning then becomes softer. The smell reminds me of a fruity fresh shampoo that I used to love when I was younger. The scent is very carefree, not quite innocent (on drydown I can smell a bit of the musk.), but it is very joyful, definitely uplifting. I wore it today while working Black Friday and it definitely helped my mood for the beginning of the day. I needed a refresher (or a nice nap) toward the end but the occasional whiff of Ladybird was made me smile.
