  1. I really like the sound of this one, but my man WILL NOT wear anything that will make people talk more! His Seer and TMI samples will never see daylight, let alone hit the open road.
  2. I just got my first "I need this LP" text from my man tonight! "Make a note that I really like river and rain. My sample is out" That's pretty damn cute. AND now he's gonna have to wait a minute because I just placed an order today. He doesn't understand, "this ain't Nam, there are rules."
  3. Yummy! I sniffed it out of sample vial (thanks Stacy,) and it smelled so good, I decided NOT to put any on. Decided to save it. Then called my man in to sniff, he said "Give me your wrist!" and slathered me, and then WIPED THE TESTER WAND ON HIS MOUSTACHE. So that just happened. That boy really loves his dairy products. He could live on cold milk and peanut butter. Makes me wonder what's going to happen when he smell's the Peanut Snacks sample.
  4. I am curious, has anyone who amps greenery, especially cedar, worn this? Cedar is not my friend. Even Totem Tiger, which should be a fruit party, can go a bit celery because of the cedar. (My man, on the other hand, does not think Totem Tiger smells anything like celery on me, he thinks it smells nice, and he hates celery.) Maybe I just need to avoid anything with cedar. Maybe I was locked into a cedar chest (possibly filled with celery) in a previous life that I can't recall. I love this out of the bottle, but my skin turns up cedar to 11 in this one. It overpowers all the other fruity lovliness, and not even the cinnamon can hold it down. Sad.
  5. I used this over some UN Cougar, and forgot to check it as it evolved, but 3 hours later, it's a smooth musk. I smell a touch of coconut and vanilla, maybe a hint of pineapple, but it's melded into a creamy Musk: I wouldn't notice anything else if I didn't know what I was sniffing for from the gate: it's very nice. I will reapply and try to pay attention this time.
  6. The last time I put on TMI, I was trying to use it for teaching so students would be more comfortable. I thought back of my hands would keep it further from me, but no. I'm already an over-sharing fool, so I put it away for a while. I've worn it and also true confessions, though, for tattoo appointments where the TMI could be put far from my face but where they'd be working! I am mischievous like that. But last night I figured out how to dose my man without dosing me, I put it on my wrists and back of neck, and 1// hr later told him my dress tag was itching me and asked him to cut it out. I had to hold up my hair and kind of turned my wrists out. We're already very open, but of course it led to other things... He already thinks people talk too much and won't put on Seer, maybe I'll take back the TMI sample he has, too !
  7. I tried Velvet Kisses w/ Cuddle Bunny on my man and he didn't like the scent, isn't CB just EST and cops?
  8. I know she would, I just like so many of the pairings that I really don't think I need something special made, I'm just trying to find a pre-phero'd men's sample that isn't green. He also has Teddy Man and Bad Boy and a few others we like on him, including LP #9. I think maybe what I'm not explaining clearly is that I don't actually know if i like Heart Throb or the heavier sexual mones because I can't smell the forest for the cedar trees. He has Smooth Operator and Pashazade and Kingmaker, and they all have cedar variants, so does Elementary. I'm willing to try Voracious again, if he's no where near me for dry down because I don't like leather until 30 minutes later. I'd like Super, he hates maple. So I'm totally cool with all the PM pairings so far, I'm sure I'll love Cuddle Musk, too. I'm also very fond of Open Arms, I just want to find something to sample with those heavier mones that doesn't have cedar or leather. I want to decide if the phero works for me before committing to phero bombing an otherwise lovely scent.
  9. Thanks for all this info! I'm pretty sure the last thing I need to sense on my man is cops, though. I'm not a jealous person, but I am territorial and any cops around here should be on me! He'd never bother with an unscented phero. He has UN SWS, but I put it on him, he'd never bother, he's happy to put Winner on himself because he likes to smell good. I'm just going to keep him in Mark's Girl Nip with PM for a bit, he also smells good in a bunch of other stuff, trees just aren't sexy to me. He's sexy, I want it to be him, just more "him". Perfect Match is great, I think it works on both of us, I'm just the kind of person who's always looking for more. I'll prob get a little Wanted Man in my next order and keep him playing with his nice box of smellies until we get another good hit. I did just get him Gargoyle Gargle in a trade and what to smell that on him soon. He loves lavender, I'm just hoping the eucalyptus and pine will behave.

Oh yeah, I had a cops "situation" on Halloween. I over did it because I was dressed as a man (Walter Sobchok from Big Lubowski) so I overdid the female scents in an attempt to soothe my man who was not appreciating how well I passed as a man. The small creepy man combined with the heavy cops load really creeped out a bunch of people who believed I was a man. (With their eyes.)
  11. That makes sense, good point! Maybe PM has a selfie effect for my man, too. He's a sweetie and he needs that intimacy feeling much more than the average man. It might even be the connection that makes him more aggressive. I was thinking a blend that would make it so he didn't have to do any work, which is silly since men don't enjoy things they don't have to work for, at least a little bit!
  12. Rose L'Homme, according to whatever i found thru google: Top Notes Bergamot, Citrus notes, Mandarin Heart Notes Jasmine, Rose Base notes Leather, Patchouli, Vetiver It sounds interesting, but I never want to smell jasmine on a man, unless it's on his hands after bringing me flowers. I feel like Jasmine and Vetiver almost cancel each other out, like if you mix every color in the world, you always get brown. I dunno. The rose in Year One is perfect.
  13. I want to like this one, and I know it's supposed to be a Lady Slayer scent, but it's just too green for me. And to add to the dilemma, my man seems to amp trees and green things. All this time I thought I was a tree hugger, but maybe subconsciously hate trees. I smell a tree sap in Excalibur that is Just Too Much of Something. I'm guessing it smells different on other men. I know Excalibur isn't even phero'd, but I'm frustrated because all of the "super sexy" boy smells with the heavy hitter Heart Throb/Wanted Man/Hunter Trapper type sexual phero's haven't been in scents I want to cuddle up with, yet. (Except Dark Desires but that won't count until I hand him a bottle.) The sexiest stuff I've huffed on him has had Perfect Match and Teddy BB. Maybe it's just safer for him without the extra phero push! Maybe it's for the best. But I hope there's going to be a match eventually. I'll make him try Homme and No.9 again, maybe get one boosted. I need to check if he has a Smooth Operator w/heart throb sample, also get him samples of Libertine w/Hunter Trapper and Imperium w/Super Sexy. Everyman deserves a scent that will make his lady harass him for sex when he's trying to sleep.

Thank you Dolly, this is great information. There was a moment when I had the dropper and the alcohol and everything all set up and I was thinking, "I could put them in this, and this..." and then realized I was most likely going to regret it in due time. Giving it 24 hours for it to "bloom" is not something I would've known, but it sure makes sense! I intellectually comprehend that less is more, but it's such a challenge to behave accordingly.
  15. Yes, but not a private show, at Terrapin in San Rafael, they play there a lot. The private shows are usually one guy bankrolling a band to come play so that everyone who came for the popular band will also have to watch his band.
  16. No similarity here. Just shows how much I know about reading perfume notes and interpreting that into a corresponding smell, which is clearly very little. I have no green scents, this just smells green to me. Not like fresh clean spring green, more like very green vegetables. Healthy vegetables. Like perhaps what my kids assume straight kale smoothies would taste like. All I smelled for the first hour was the cannabis. But not a "Oh this smells so good, I'm just gonna stick my head in this trash bag full of 10 lb. of weed for a while, don't mind me," smell, more like, "this house blew up when these guys were making hash oil and the firemen soaked these buckets of marijuana plants with water, and now that the police caution tape has been removed I'm peering into these buckets of weed" smell. But that was an hour ago. It's mellowed and it's a calm smooth patchouli now. An hour ago I absolutely would not have given this sample to my man, I'll let him try it. He's done sound for several bands in Northern CA, "Behind the Green Curtain," at private harvest season parties. This will be perfect!
  17. OMG, this is amazing. I didn't know that rose could be masculine, but this, to me, is a masculine scent. It's actually what I would call an "everything I ever wanted" perfume. I didn't know I was missing this in my life, thankfully this need will be filled. Its perfect. There have been a few "everything I've ever wanted" perfect perfumes here in LP Heaven, and this one is dwarfing them all in my mind at the moment. Not any man could wear Year One though, only the kind of man you'd want to cuddle with on the sofa. Perfect Match is the best possible phero choice for this smooth sexy blend. I haven't yet smelled anything that was paired with PM that I didn't love. I'm absolutely buying this for my man. If he doesn't love it, I'd happily wear it myself. He is a fan of women's perfumes with amber, so I could see either of us huffing this one off of the other. I pick up the suggestion of pine that Mara mentioned, I think that's part of what makes it masculine. I honestly don't get any citrus, but I have eaten most of a pineapple, two mangos, and two oranges so far today. I consume massive quantities of citrus on the regular, I can eat 5 lb. of cuties or Sumatra mandarins in a day, no problem. I'm also perpetually dispersing tangerine, orange, rosemary and clove at the yoga studio, so I think my skin might already smell like tangerines. I hope the citrus doesn't amp on my man, he'd be afraid to wear it, fearing that I'd eat him in his sleep. We already have a rule, my man cannot wear Mark's Girl Nip if I'm not with him. There's going to be a rule with Year One. If we break up, he has to give it back to me. We could possibly negotiate over the kitten John Snow, Year One is non-negotiable. Edit: Made him put it on after his shower and before dinner. 90 minutes later, it smells completely different on him than it did on me. No rose, nothing sweet, a manly cedar and a little resinous. I'm so surprised! Buying it for him, but could end up as mine, I liked it better on me. ONE HOUR LATER : the amber and rose are back! #winning
  18. I did get a great La Sylphide response in a random place, from a 20 year old handsome cashier at Michaels, buying some last minute crafts for my daughter. Now I'm 48, obviously he knew I was older, but he did not care. He actually said, "wow, whatever scent you're wearing, it smells amazing." It was on my wrists so he must've caught it as I handed hm stuff from my shopping cart. (Clearly it has staying power on me because it was applied 4 or even 5 hours earlier.) He was trying to think of things to talk to me about, including what kind of art I did, but it was obviously all kid's stuff. I always ask store clerks what time they are done working, especially during heavy shopping times, just to acknowledge that their day is long. He said not until really late, "but I don't mind because I get to meet really interesting people like you." That had to be a LFM hit. I said, and did, absolutely nothing interesting whatsoever. I have washed off a few. I have learned that if I just wait on anything that has leather in it for just 15 minutes it will turn into the scent I wanted, but those 15 minutes are HARD.
  19. Thanks Luna, I didn't listen to that at all in the beginning and I'm sure that's why quite a few samples ended up in the "no thank you" bag. I'm glad I've kept most of them to cycle through again. This was second time a LP I was excited about smelled different than what I was expecting when I first put it on and it scared me. But both times it was perfect about one or two hours later. I need to have more faith! Or patience. Patience and impulse control are not my strengths.
  20. I'm giving La Sylphide a tiny pre-bedtime run, going to wear it for teaching tomorrow. My only experience with LFM was a sample of Winter in the Tropics, and it was a perfect vibe for me for that night. I'm hoping the sandalwood heats up instead of the nutmeg. I'm hoping I didn't open it too soon, I received it this week in a trade, (Thanks Stacy!) Is there a set time that "travel shock" lasts? I don't really understand why that happens, but I've seen it mentioned a bunch, I can assume you all know more than me and it must be a real thing. It does smell a little different from the sample I have, I believe. Edit: 2 hours later, it's the nice smooth sandalwood I was hoping for. And it's got the best review from my 11 year old son, "mom you smell so good, it's "cuddle inducing". And then right before bed, "it's snuggle inducing." My little lavender lovin' man clearly approves.
