  1. Got the first ship notice two days ago, so the parcel should arrive at the post on Sunday. That means I'll get the parcel on Tuesday. Getting really excited to see what Mara has created! Has anyone tried the Lightning in a Bottle with Open Windows? That's a sample I'm trying. Eager to hear some reviews.
  2. Absolutely right. I'd never have thought , based on reading the descriptions alone, that some notes could work together. One other thing, especially when creating PEs, is to be very clear about the feeling you get when you smell a certain scent. What sort of texture would you associate with a certain scent. As an example, for me, oak moss comes off velvety and powdery soft. Once you can give Mara a feeling, adjective, texture,"this reminds me of..," she is usually off and running. She has been doing this artwork for a long time. She knows what works. I am a shining example of "ask questions."
  3. Mara..sweet Mara.. Sent a note (2) back to you. The two scents you mentioned are already on their way, I think. This must have been in the far away back of my subconcious when I placed my original order for Liquid Mystery. Thank you..again.
  4. Once you've read my email and seen my order..and had a stomping, hopping fit, let me know. I am such a pain in the arse.
  5. Thanks, Jessica! So, are there two bottles left to reserve of Wendy's Liquid Mystery or just one? If there are two, I would like to reserve one of those, please. If only one remains, I'll pass. (I have a new idea formulating when you're ready).Since I have never ordered a second bottle of my own PE, how do I go about that? I intend to add other items, I don't know what the next step is..new, but not virgin territory.
  6. Thanks so much!, but all thanks go to the Hostess with the Mostest.
  7. Been a couple of hours now and the lingering scent is very warm, soft, and now I get the marshmallows. Such a happy scent.
  8. I've not looked at the notes, but I have to thank Halo for her suggestion of Flying Potion 2014.This is a scent I could wear all year. How you create a perky/bouncy/warm fragrance is beyond me, but there it is. Initially, I got grapefruit, which dried down quickly..and did NOT bite. Imagine entering the kitchen after someone has zested citrus fruit..just fresh and uplifting. Under that was a layer of something candy fruity, but not sticky. After 15 minutes, I get warm/clean, fresh out off the line laundry but there's a warm-scent (I cheated and peeped..NUTMEG!)so faint, but oh so pleasant. This is the dead of winter, yet I feel as though I've drifted high in the air and landed in a sunlit cloud. Wonderful stuff, this! *Note* Having taken a peep at the ingredients, I understand why this is going to be a year-round scent for me.
  9. Lainey, don't quote me on this, but I think Storax is a tree resin.
  10. Yep StacyK., if there is only one left, you can claim mine. I can always have Mara try to whip up something similar.
  11. So glad you have enjoyed it. When I first sent Mara the idea, we ended up speaking on the phone because she wanted to discuss the balance of all the notes. She hit it out of the park, in my humble opinion.
  12. I'd love to try Mom's Crazy for Carnations. Brings Grandpa Harry's flowerbeds to mind. Ahhhh
  13. Mara, Since you've had a chance to have a sniffy, if you were going to put a classification on Liquid Mystery, what would you choose, and if you were to add a pheromone, what would it be?
  14. Really enjoy this one. I love transcendent bergamot. It comes through beautifully. The lemon stays subtle, and somewhere a breeze has caught morning sun on the herb beds. Lovely.
  15. I love this scent! We have a lovely meadery nearby and they produce a winter bottle called Breakfast Magpie. It is a delicious blend of blackberry and coffee. I use it when I bake (a nip or two for the soul as I go, of course). I make chocolate cake bombs that are covered in melted semisweet chocolate and topped with plump blackberries. This scent is that dessert. As it bakes, there is a distinct aroma that reminds me of my grandfather's pipe tobacco. Every time I wear this scent it transports me to a very happy place.
  16. Synergist, this is what I told Mara: One of my favourite scents in the entire world is the smell of wet pavement after a rain..that sudden cool down that doesn't last because the sun comes out and dries it. There is always a hard wind in a pop up storm that blows leaves onto the ground, twists the herbs 'round in their beds. I wanted all of that in a bottle. As always, Mara captured the images and thoughts in my head perfectly..wet, cooling pavement, green leaves and herbs blown by in an instant. Fresh, clean, gone in a flash. tardis anyone
  17. Wow! Glad this has been pleasing to most everyone. Where I live, the month of August can hit triple digits with 100% humidity. New Orleans folks, I feel your pain. When I contacted Mara I believe I told her I'd been in the garden and it was bloody hot already in the early morning. I was eager for the evening to fall. When I went into the house I sliced some cucumbers and they smelled so fresh and cool. That got my head spinning. What I wanted was something evocative of a humid August night. I wanted the velvet texture that lays cools as you stroll along on summer evening...not sweat so much as dew. Cucumber and apricot have always been cool, juicy scents for me, but apricots are also soft and velvety. Rich almond, but more almond oil than foodie cherry. Cherries are fabulous, but more tart than I envisioned. I was feeling plump, nectar-rich apricot/almond. Coconut, because it is eternally summer, rich but light and delicate. So: humid, dewy, warm, a surprising and refreshing breath of a breeze on a dead-calm August night. Mara..you never cease to amaze me. Thank you for recreating my first date with my husband (It was July, but it felt like August). We've been on many humid summer strolls during our 34 year courtship. ♡♡
  18. Well, Mara, I haven't even gotten a chance to take a sniff, but I guess I should reserve a second bottle of Wendy's Liquid Mystery if there is one available. Oh, and by the way, I did find the labels. Had to use my mobile as the home computer does have multitudes of blocks. LOVE the label. Thanks, Lovey!
  19. I'm here. No, I don't know the notes, but mara has made some lovely potions for me in the past. She knows the sorts of scents I love, and I trust her completely. I justs sent her the images in my head and told her to work her proverbial magic. All I know is she told me it will include one of her favourite notes. Where are the labels?
  20. Just combined the sugared apricot with the cocoa butter..oh my goodness.
