  1. Blessings to you and your family, Ail. I didn't have a clue about who you were a month ago, that's true, and now I'm thankful that this has changed. I appreciate you and your efforts, as we all do. Please do what you need to do for yourself. And for what it's worth, I am confident that your dad is quite close by
  2. I really hope this doesn't resemble LP Black much, cause...I don't like it!!! *braces for impact*
  3. Hey Mara, if another bottle ever comes to light again, dibs Well, I'll leave that comment up for posterity, altho I still want a bottle. I finally got a sample. This starts out nicely enough with vanilla and some strongly violet-influenced florals, but it loses that fizz pretty quickly and becomes a slightly amber-y floriental with a little something dirty. Some kind of lemon and/or citrus touch in there eventually. As it dries and ages on my skin, it gets deeper, better overall. It's pretty good, it just wouldn't be my absolute first choice.
  4. Well, Ail, just gimme the info, and I'll reset my paycheck to direct deposit in the Perfumerie's account Sooooo glad we'll have another chance with this. I'll be vigilant! I'll be WATCHING!!!
  5. No way, Luna, you're not! See, knjsavy and me got your back Enterprise and Voyager were pretty good, and I enjoy TOS and TNG immensely, but DS9 had it all. I never get tired of watching the reruns. It's hard to describe my admiration for a show that featured Avery Brooks AND Rene Auberjonois, along with a growing, breathing version of Starfleet - one that doesn't function in a do-gooder vacuum and certainly doesn't do everything right (the Maquis, Section 31, corrupted officers that aren't afflicted by a parasite). And what you said is classic, knjsavy. I'll ask Dad if that was in his copy Worf really got better in DS9, I think. He gained quite a bit of depth. Edit cuz gud speling counts!
  6. Or like Caffeinated Death from Arcana?
  7. Oh yeah, I don't mean to seem sofa king stupid, but what the hell is a "KSBF?" I got the last two letters all right! Edited to say ooh! thank you, Katz! Love it!
  8. *passes the pitcher* Have at it! We make em fresh every day I read those books in middle school and The Restaurant at the End of the Universe is my favorite. Born into Star Trek fandom courtesy of my dad. Yet I didn't know the Vegas Hilton has Quark's Bar...
  9. I can't assist you just yet with the fragrances, as I'm still learning myself. I can make you feel , tho! Please, enjoy, and it's good to have you here
  10. It starts out smelling better than chamomile tea, at least, and trust me, that is a compliment. Originally, it's honeyed chamomile and too straw-like and herbal for me. Thank God it softens up. It becomes something that I'd like to smell in a potpourri pot, very homey. This would also be a great, unpushy scent for work or job interviews. Not a must-have, but pretty good. Another kind freebie from the LP gals. Wanted to add that I reread the bus incident, and I want to extend my belated condolences. I just don't think I could shake feeling like crap about that for a while, if it happened to me! Given the odds, hopefully this happening won't repeat itself in our lifetimes
  11. I got this as a lovely half-sample from the ladies with my first order. It's very nice! Total floral, of course. At first, I wouldn't have believed there was moonflower in this. I can catch it now - it's subtle and I'm glad as I don't normally enjoy this note. I think the tuberose takes charge in this fragrance, which is fine with me. It lasts about three hours. Overall, I'm happy to have tried it and had a chance to review it, but I don't think I need a bottle.
  12. Helllllooooo. Good to have you here! Nakai Nectar is on my list, so please save me a bottle Do let us know how your new phero experiments work out.
  13. Not sure if I really like the fragrance of this well enough to justify a full bottle purchase. My review is a bit opposite of gaia's. The vanilla and apricot-ish fruitiness just don't please me in combination. On the other hand, it's well-liked on me by the boyfriend - he enjoyed the scent and I DEFINITELY got the reaction I wanted, but right now, I think I'd rather get some unscented BI (oh, how that abbreviation always makes me think of BO) and layer it with things I enjoy more. Eh...*shrugs*...Maybe, maybe not, we'll see.
  14. And we're going to a party, party...and we're going to a party, party... A friend of mine is having his monthly "taco night" party tonight and I've decided to wear this and go play! Cannot wait to see what happens. There are always many people but I don't know most of them, so this should be tons of fun. And me with my new haircut and everything Update: Well, I have to say, I didn't notice a big change. I think that people seemed to be more...convivial with me. I was not the center of the party, I just felt like a cozy part of the group, even tho I didn't know anyone too well and they didn't know me. Got a compliment on the scent too, which helps me know it was noticeable. My host Rob did want a goodbye kiss from me, but this isn't unexpected either The fragrance itself, btw, has a lovely, spicy-brown-sugar top note, which mellows to a musky, honey-rose sweetness with just a bit of that sugar lingering. Not really cinnamony at all. Lasts all night, yo! I quite like it and for now I see it as my Popularity Potion. I'll test for more intimate reactions later when I get into a one-on-one setting.
  15. My boyfriend wants you all to know that when I wore this today and asked his opinion, he picked up my arm, sniffed it, sniffed it, sniffed it and then inhaled it like cocaine. This is one fabulous fragrance! Give me your unwanted bottles!
  16. The lily keeps bugging me. In this fragrance, that note is a little too sharp on my skin. Other than that, it's a well-balanced floral and the amber and cream are definitely present. Those aspects are quite nice. Not much waft here. I'm waiting to see what happens to the lily before I make my final call. I agree with everyone who says this would cover aggressive pheros well. Even tho I don't have much experience with them yet, that was one of the first things I thought as I applied this scent.

    Sugared Apples

Now this is a sugared scent I can dig. It starts out with a candy-cornish aroma, but that quickly becomes something appley. When I say appley, I mean there's a fresh-cut apple quality, not a candified one. I start to think about Granny Smiths right then. After a little bit of this, there comes a pretty, lighthanded, apple-tinged scent, and that's where it remains. It keeps its sweetness, but not its strength. That's the only thing I'd change; I'd like it to have way more throw. Other than that, I say check it out if you are inclined. With some layering of vanilla, almond or amber you could really have something here. I proclaim it Bottle-Worthy *stamp*
  18. Yeah, they do offer that for just a little extra dough, wotta deal! I'm thinking I'll spring for a bottle. I got the original in a bottle swap, and it is one fabulous fragrance all on its own, so I can just imagine how fun it will be with Cougar in it.
  19. Yarrgh. I really wanted to try this. Unfoody vanillas appeal to me, to say nothing of the power of Drop Yer Guard behind it. Maybe I'll run across some kind soul who'll swap me some.
  20. Damned if I'm gonna miss out on it. I'm putting together my order right now!
  21. Well, you enablers have convinced me! This is going in the next order.
  22. I'm glad this scent doesn't do it for me, as it's just one less discon fragrance to covet! More than anything, it does have that peach/orris combo vibe going, but that doesn't mean it's pleasant for me. It has a plasticky fruit flavor to it that does mellow out in time, it just takes a LONG time. Not really my thing, although I appreciate the unexpectedness of fruit from a scent with the word "voodoo" in the name, which would otherwise conjure up dark and spicy impressions for me. This will go up on my forthcoming swaps page and I'm sure I can find something I've been searching for in return. Edited to say that after leaving my sample alone for a long time, I like this better now than I did. Still didn't know voudon was so fruity, tho
  23. One of the best recent fortunes I got was: "Happiness is right in front of you." As I read it, my boyfriend was sitting directly across from me, his knee touching mine. As for this fragrance, it's quite nice once I get past the Robitussin moment. When I first apply it, I receive a thick, sweet, cough syrupy aroma. This lasts for a minute or two. Fortunately, the final result is a sugared almond tea amalgam, and it lasts several hours on my skin. It's still a bit too sweet for my tastes. I wonder if the Private Edition with more almond could be the ticket for me. Either way, I do like it, and I admit I'm so curious about those kick-ass fortune cookies that I'm driven to have a bottle!
  24. Y'know, I'm going to have to try this just to see if it helps me to blab. My mom reminded me a while back on how I used to get in trouble in class for being a chatterbox. So now the thought of experimenting on myself and seeing what I might feel an overwhelming urge to say amuses me greatly. "Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips."
  25. I agree, Shelly. I think you'd really enjoy it. It's much more fun to have loads of tools in your arsenal. Take it from one who can be sweet and/or dominant!
