  1. Special Delivery (ever order I put in, I think about throwing in an extra bottle or two of SD) Beth's Blushing Milkmaid Deliciously Wicked A Lick of Cream Caramel Sutra
  2. I really, really don't like LP Red, either by itself or in Passion and Desire. I think it's the combination of the verbena, apricot and patchouli - patchouli makes me feel ill. That being said, I finally got up my courage to try Red Lace, and I was pleasantly surprised! The apricot is much cleaner here, with a nice vanilla back. The patchouli is light enough to give the right amount of depth without being stinky. The dark sugars behave on my skin (wonder of wonders!) and don't turn to almost burnt toffee or overwhelm the other note. If I try hard I can pick the other notes, but it is a really well-blended scent where everything plays nicely. Much, much nicer than I was expecting! I've never tried Lace before, so I was interested in the self-effects. For the first minute or two I can smell the pheros, but it settles down pretty quick. I find that Lace makes me feel very mellow; less antsy, more able to take things in my stride. It's a subtle effect, but a nice one. I think a full bottle might be in order.
  3. I'm waiting for my oder with a bunch of samples in it to arrive before I wave my money about and buy all the things.
  4. I normally apply a swipe on either the back of my hands or the inside of my forearms (sometimes of the back of my neck under the hair line) just as I'm leaving the house before my 30 minute walk to work. As I'm not in close proximity to anyone, I don't mind if I smell a little on the way I find it a helpful short cut for the dry down, especially because I don't get anything on my clothes or hair.
  5. I'm not that young I'm 32, so I suspect that I'm within the target market for Cougar.
  6. Thank you all so much for your suggestions! I think I'll get something with Swimming with Sharks in it (or unscented) for days where I want to superhero "POW! RESPECT ME!" her, and maybe something with Heart and Soul or Mother's Little Helper to smooth out the edges on days where I just want to avoid direct confrontations.
  7. I'm using it in Cougar Potion, and I only use a stripe of about two inches. My sense of smell is pretty strong, and I don't like to over do it
  8. I'm trying very hard to not bad-mouth her, because I am sure that the problem between us is at least half my fault. She is one of those people who is very set in her ways - she doesn't like changing her approach to things, preferring to stick with what has worked in the past. She tries to micro-manage a lot, and will try to push other people to do things her way - including her boss. Assertive to the extreme, one might say. She comes across as arrogant, mostly because she believes that she has seniority over people because she's worked there longer. As for me, I have very strong views about science - you can't change things you do in the lab willy nilly, and you need to stick to the basic principles of the scientific method. I try to be more of a peace-maker, and would rather compromise than demand that my way is the right way. Respect is very important to me, be it how I treat other (even those I don't like) or how others treat me. I don't think it is right for anyone to treat their co-workers poorly. I hope that helps!
  9. Bleah, my skin is so very persnickety. This is a lovely scent, but as soon as it hits my skin it morphs. Anything with lavender smells like soap on me - in this case, very nice soap - and I'm a little heart broken that this isn't the fluffy vanilla I had hoped for. Being in Australia sometimes I can't risk buying a sample before a full bottle, because there's always the chance that something will sell out even before the sample hits my mailbox. I'm always on the look out for vanilla scents, and this and Odalisque sounded perfect on paper (or, you know, screen), but they both become clean and masculine scents on me. Le sigh!
  10. I get all kinds of weird self effects with Cougar. When I first put it on, I get that delightful woozy feeling, but after about 15 minutes I feel all... not right. If I leave it on for a few hours I get this utterly strange feeling of jealousy towards myself. If I smelled this on another woman, I would have that strong jealousy tension vibe with her, like I had to compete with her to get... I don't know, attention? So I could get ahead of her? But on myself I get this utterly strange vibe of "get your hands of my man", but in a twisted "get your hands off me" kind of sense. It's really hard to explain, and totally unexpected.
  11. I got a job last year in the same lab that I did my PhD. You know how there are some people who just don't get along? There was a woman in the lab (let's call her KW) who really rubbed me the wrong way, but I couldn't do or say anything about it because she was staff and I was just a student. (The academic pecking order is brutal.) Anyways, I finally finished and was offered a job, and accepted it because science jobs are few and far between. Anyways, I was placed in an office with her for all of two weeks before she left for maternity leave. Since she went off to have her baby the dynamics of our four-person office shifted to a huge degree - the boys in my office and I get along really well. The problem is that KW is returning to work in a few weeks, and will be coming back to her old desk in our cozy little office. Really, what it comes down to is that we just don't like eachother - we can get along if we have to, but we are certainly not eachothers' friend. I'd love to try out a phero that might help either to get her to respect me more (she is having trouble adjusting to me being her equal rather than just another student), or that will chill me out a bit (so it's more of a water-off-a-duck's-back kind of deal on my side), or both. I was thinking something like Swimming with Sharks. All advice welcome
  12. I actually find that this dries down to a very clean, masculine scent on my skin. I'm guessing that it's the combination of amber and musk - a lot of amber or musk scents end up making me smell like a boy
  13. I'm thinking of getting this boosted with Swimming with Sharks or Dominance. There is something delicious about a warm and fuzzy scent with a backbone of not-to-be-messed-with.
  14. I finally bit the bullet and ordered a bottle of OCCO Red. I really don't like LP Red, but I could not resist the lure of cinnamon...

Did I not mention how awesome this is? This is one of the few perfumes I have that consistently get's me compliments. It smells line a rich gingerbread cupcake on me, and is just subtle enough that you can get away with it at work. Lovely
  16. The good news; the banana in this is quite subtle and well-blended. It's there, but it doesn't punch you in the nose. The bad news is that this turns to ash on my skin like many vanillas do, which makes me sad. Before it turns, though, it is a nice gourmand scent without being overwhelmingly foody or fruity. It's certainly a woman's perfume, not a teenager's perfume.
  17. LP O never worked for me - I found that the verbena was too harsh. LP Black I like, but I have to use it sparingly because patchouli and I don't get along well. LP Red and I have the same problem I have with LP O; a little too perfumey, a little too much verbena for my liking. Honeyed Love Potion is actually quite different to those (to my nose). I don't normally like fruity scents, but I've recently been craving apricot and peach scents - Honeyed Love Potion very much satisfied this! It starts out as a very ripe, very juicy, very cool apricot. Not an apricot that's picked from the tree and still warm from the sun, but an apricot that is cool and fresh. The honey note does soften the verbena, but I am still not sold on the dry down. Still, if you like the base notes from the Love Potions, you're probably going to enjoy this!
  18. This is another sugary LP scent that ends up smelling that caramellised sugar, just when it's getting a little too dark. The same thing happens with brown sugar LP notes. I don't get much of a Sugared Pure scent from it - it has too much of a caramel edge on it for that. It's very nice, though!
  19. I'm glad I nabbed a bottle when the update went up!
  20. I was so on the fence with this one, but I decided to go for it. I am really, really not a banana scent fan, but... everything else listed sounds so amazing. Crossing my fingers for it working on me!
  21. Staaaaalk? I have a hankering for a PE, but I want to wait until the next update...
  22. This is my Big Fat Tabby Cat, Cinder! I was bad and forgot to review this It is a fluffy, fuzzy kind of a scent, full of sweet and dusty notes. It really is like burying your face into a soft kitty belly and taking a deep huff. The chocolate note is very similar to something in "Skye Loves Chocolate", and it has a sweet muskiness that reminds me of TMI. It's a very happy-inducing perfume
