  1. Well, Tanuki has certainly settled down and become a lot more smoochy and relaxed since I started using the diffuser. She's even started picking fights less often with her sister. I really do think it's made a difference for her, and I would really recommend it as something to try.
  2. This doesn't smell like traditional kirsebærsuppe, but it's still lovely It actually ends up being a very almond-lemon-spiced cake smell on my skin, which I adore. As it settles, the lemon becomes less prominant and it is becoming a delicious tart-almond scent with a subtle cinnamon back. It's very, very pretty!
  3. This is the weirdest little perfume I ever got my grubby mits on. Orange and musk are an interesting combo, but an unexpected one. Because of the musk it has that clean drier sheet smell, combined with that orange oil smell of eco friendly cleaners... and yet it doesn't smell like cleaning product! On my skin the musk takes centre stage. It smells like a really grown up perfume that just happens to be fruity, rather than a fruity perfume trying to be grown up.
  4. Hey, any cupcake perfume will make me (butter)cream my panties.
  5. One of my kitties (Tanuki, of "Cow Print Kitty" fame) has been having a lot of bladder problems for her short life. Today, after an emergency trip to the vet (not her first), the vet pretty much ruled out everything that could be causing it except stress. Now, I run a pretty cat-friendly house hold, so the idea of Tanuki being stressed out was not the first thing that came to my mind. However, there's a new, simple treatment for stressed out cats, called Feliway. It's basically like an air freshener diffuser that you plug into a wall socket, except that instead of an obnoxious fragrance it releases cat pheromones! Specifically, the pheromones mother cats release when they're raising their kittens. I find it awesome that as a parellel to me using pheromones from LPMP to try to chill myself out a bit, I'm using the very same technology to give my cat a more chilled out, happier life. Let's hope it works!
  6. A full sized bottle is 1/3 fl oz, so 5 mL would be close to half of a full-sized bottle.

    Caramel Sutra

I'm always terrified of anything that lists resins and attars in the notes, because I amp dark, musky, heavy notes more than anything else, and these are the notes that tend to make me feel ill. I prefer lighter, sweeter, less complicated scents than you normally get with resiny, head-shoppy kinds of perfumes. Caramel and brown sugars also have a habit of becoming sickly and over-bearing on my skin. Caramel Sutra sounded like exactly the wrong scent for me. But you know what? It's completely different from what I expected! The sweetness tones down as soon as it hits my skin to something that's more of an impression than a strong note. I get an odd celery type note which I sometimes get with caramels, but it's not an overpowering smell. All in all, it settles down to a very subtle scent, dry, faintly resiny, almost woody, with just a touch of caramel sweetness. This is the type of resiny scent that I adore - not in your face, not fussy, not aggressive. It's a slinky skin scent that's really going to work for me on days I don't want to smell like candy, but something more sophisticated and mysterious. I'm going to have to nab me a bottle of this!
  8. I don't really notice an upswing in mood, so I don't think it's a crash that I'm experiencing. I've had no problems with EoW, or BAM in Dolce Far Niente, which is why it stood out as odd. It could just be that I've happened to wear it on days where my mood is particularly down for unrelated reasons. I do get paradoxical reactions to some medications (codiene tends to make me hyperactive, not sleepy, for example), but I'm pretty sure that this isn't what's going on with me and the pheromones. Hormones and medications work differently on the body, after all Who knows? Maybe it's just been bad luck so far.
  9. A little background on me; I suffer from several mental disorders, including major depressive disorder. To me, this is no more of an issue than if I were to say "I am allergic to shellfish". It's just a medical condition that I live with, so I don't mind talking about it. Also, I am not a perfume slatherer. I'm pretty scent sensitive, so I generally only dab on just enough perfume for me to smell it occasionally, or for someone else to smell it if they are close enough to give me a hug. Anyways! In my last order I recieved a bottle of LAM (vanilla and honey), and I adore the scent. I've noticed, though, that when I've been wearing it I've been feeling pretty down, and I've had spikes of depression darken my mind. I don't know if this is a me thing, or if it's a reaction to the pheromones (mental disorders have an awful habit of making you question your own feelings and perceptions). I don't think it's an OD reaction, because I really don't wear very much at a time. Has anyone else noticed that LAM gives then the sads?
  10. This is mostly cinnamony and brown sugar on my skin, so spicy that it stings the back of my throat. This is actually a fabolous thing for me, because I get a little disappointed with scents that go too light on the zing and spice. I wish I could get the other notes, but the brown sugar/cinnamon combo on me invariably drowns out the other notes. This reminds me of BPAL's Blue Pumpkin Floss from a year or so ago, but without the berry punch. I like it, but I'll only be using it in small doses.
  11. On my skin, this starts out as POW! BANANA! After a while, it becomes more POW! BANANA LEAF! But then, banana scents are notoriously odd on my skin It is a sweet, creamy scent, with a comforting-not-quite-desserty feel to it. If you love banana, this would be a fabulous choice for you. I don't hate banana, but it's just not my kind of scent. It becomes a cool, slightly-under-ripe banana or banana leaf scent on me, which is fabulously unique (it reminds me vaguely of Namaka from Arcana, but they are very different scents), but unfortunately is not exactly my cup of tea.
  12. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. It was more a reflection on my own poor self-esteem than anyone else's perception of their age.
  13. Squee! I expect another purchase in my future, then
  14. Maybe! I'm wondering if the scent is stronger in the NoCo variety or not, though...
  15. I bought this in a fit of "I'm an old, fat lady and no virile man is going to look twice at me ever again". Really, that's the only excuse that could explain why I picked a perfume with grapefruit and brown sugar notes, which usually cause either nausea or migranes for me. Now, having said that, I took the plunge and hoped in the power of the lucky rabbit's foot making me feel like less of an old fat lady! When I first put this on, it reminds me very strongly of Love Potion: Original. I know I'm in the minority, but LP O is just not my kind of scent. It's not that there's anything wrong with it, it's just not my thing - I'm addicted to foody scents, and LP O is a very "perfumey" scent to me. Anyway... I got LP O, but no nausea or headaches. A good sign! After a while, it becomes more of a subtle bitter-tart scent on my skin (very much like real, unpeeled grapefruit) with the warm undertone of brown sugar. Not an overpowering citrus punch in the nose, not a heavy, sickly sweet brown sugar cloud, but something quite subtle. It is a "perfume" scent rather than a foody scent, and probably is just a little too grown-up for me to wear by itself, but it settles to a very nice, sophisticated blush of scent on my skin. Totally not what I was expecting, and I'm very pleased with it!
  16. I got my bottle boosted with cops. I can smell the cops when it first hits my skin, but I actually really like the melding of sweet chocolate with the slightly salty cops smell, so that's actually a plus for me! It reminds me of brownie batter to begin with, but it seems to go a bit wonky on my skin It ends up smelling like very dark, dry, bitter cocoa on me. This isn't a disaster, though, because I've found it layers really well with the LAM vanilla and honey varient, which sweetens it up just enough for me. Even so, this one may get better wear in a scent locket for me.
  17. LAM Sugared Vanilla and Honey is love on my skin. It's the softest sweet powdery scent I could wish for. It's like if Sugared Honeycomb and Sugared Pure had a very polite, lady-like daughter. It has none of the harshness of Sugared Honeycomb or PheroGirl, and has none of the sickliness of Sugared Pure. It's a light, beautiful skin scent. In fact, if I had my way I'd get this without the pheros and with a stronger scent to wear day-to-day. It wears so close to the skin that I doubt anyone else would be able to sense it unless they mashed their nose right up to me. This isn't a bad thing, because I tend to take a less-is-more approach to perfumes in general, and particularly as this is a phero blend I'm not likely to accidentally mash someone's nose into my scented bits. The LAM adds an undercurrent of an almost wine-like scent which is very faint, and fades pretty quick. Self-effects seem to include a bit more of a warm-and-fuzzy feeling than normal, not the giddy burst of cheeky energy I can get from EoW.
  18. I love the lables, as always Have a fantastic holiday!
  19. For me, the short answer is not really. The longer answer is yes, but it has to do with what I call the "lucky rabbit's foot effect". If you feel like you have a secret weapon, you'll have more confidence. For me, a fabulous perfume (pheros or not) is a bit like wearing a fabulous bra - I feel better, more poised, and prettier, even if no one but me knows what's different. It's more about being happy with how you are presenting yourself, rather than suddenly everything in your life changing. Yes, pheromones do have an effect that I've noticed, but nothing life changing.
  20. Well... my personal feeling is that it's a little unprofessional at work. You are walking around in the scent equivalent of a mini skirt and a bikini top. You are surrounding yourself with a chemical stimulant which sends out a "I want to have sex RIGHT NOW" message to everyone around you. Depending on your place of work, if you wouldn't work in a "come do me now" outfit, you probably shouldn't smell like you want someone to do you now. As for how "dangerous" it may or may not be... well, that really depends on the sorts of men you come in contact with on a day-to-day basis. If you only cross paths with the average guy who might stare at a woman walking down in the street in her underwear, then no, it's not dangerous. If you come across the sort of ass hat who thinks that wearing a short skirt means you're fair game, then yes, it is dangerous. I personally wouldn't risk going out at night by myself wearing skimpy clothes, because I don't want to give any ass hats the wrong idea - and pheromones pretty much have the same effect.
