  1. Ah me too! I thought it must be the sugar but it doesn't really smell sugary.
  2. Ok, so I wasn't too excited about this one initially. Something about the idea of dusty dried flowers didn't really appeal to me. Plus I don't really know what some of the ingredients are even supposed to smell like (storax?? ) Having now tried it, my advice is to just put it on already and stop waffling over the dusty dried flowers bit! This is a really beautiful floral. I get the hay in the background, and it gives it a very autumnal feel that reminds me of fall back when we lived in rural Kansas. I get very little smoke and just a sort of underlying sweetness. Despite the resins, it doesn't wear like what I would call a resinous scent, so don't be skeerd if that's not your thing. The whole shebang pulls together beautifully. It's hard commenting on the "volume" of any given floral blend when individual chemistry can really mess with that for some people, all I can say is that I do not find the flowers here at all shrill or piercing, for whatever that's worth. I really like this one.
  3. I keep meaning to review this, the NRs distracted me! I procrastinated big time on trying this one because I was afraid my man would be one of those who doesn't do well with Est heavy stuff. When I finally put it on, I'll be honest, I thought, "DRYER SHEET." I'm sorry but CB smells like fabric softener to me. It's not a bad thing! But I thought for sure it would not get a good reception, pheros aside. WRONG. He loves it. He told me how good I smelled before I even asked what he thought of it. He said it's his favorite of any of the LPMP scents I've tried so far. I was gobsmacked. I tried it on a different occasion, hoping he'd change his mind and like Sneaky Clean better (LOL) but nope. It's got to be the Bunny. And my fears about Est were happily unfounded, he has never been the particularly touchy-feely type but I have definitely noticed more cuddling than his norm and the cops work their magic like they always do. Good stuff! It's not MY favorite scent as far as that goes but I wouldn't mind adding this one to the rotation.
  4. This was the first time I tried Flying Potion, so I can't compare to previous years, but I didn't care for it very much. It's not even the grapefruit (I'm not a big grapefruit fan), but the licorice. I really can't stand the smell of licorice, and it came on really strong for about the first hour. Which is about 59 1/2 minutes too long for me. I'll hold onto my trial spray because it might mellow out with a bit of aging. Or it could be my skin chemistry perversely amped the very thing I didn't want to be able to detect or that I'm just sensitive to it since I don't like it.

    EBIL-ish 2014

This is the first one I tried out of the Weenie sampler! The box was barely open before Ebil-ish was on my arm! Now when I first read the description, particularly the "rich vanilla extract with a hint of booziness," I immediately thought of Sugared Vanilla Bean (which I absolutely love, and would describe in almost the exact same words- maybe subtract "a hint of" ) and thought naively to myself that this one must be a lot like it, I probably don't "need" both. I know, I know, I'm an innocent lamb, aren't I? It is actually quite different, not just SVB + spices. I was extremely concerned about the spices, by the by, because of the way my skin amps cinnamon, but they are not a problem here. I can smell them, but they stay where they belong, as part of the scent, rather than turning into an unrelenting sledgehammer. The drydown is a beautiful, softly spiced, musky vanilla. It lasted well on me, several hours from a dab, but didn't survive overnight (which is fine, but some LPs do have that kind of tenacity, which is why I mention it!) The musk in this comes across as clean without being soapy. My man claims Ebil-ish smells like my clean skin does. I'm just a little skeptical (heh) but I think his general impression, at least, is correct...for all its richness, it is still not a heavy scent that screams "I'm wearing a vanilla perfume!" I really like it.
  6. I've tested Cougar potion (the scented one) a few times now but couldn't seem to find the thread to review it. Here it is! First, scent wise, I have to say I'm not wild about the smell of grapefruit in general, but it doesn't bother me in Cougar. It doesn't come across as sharp or sour, and it quiets down really quick (within an hour or so) so it's more like a supporting player, a hint I get every now and then, rather than "grapefruit in yo' FACE!" (which is what I was worried about before trying it). My husband claims to hate the smell of grapefruit but Cougar doesn't bother him either, I'm not sure he even realizes that it's grapefruit It turns into this soft, sweet skin musk and that's where it stays. But every time I wear this one, the same thing happens. I put it on. I have that hour or so where the grapefruit is at its strongest, and I know I'm wearing Cougar. Then after that, it's like I develop amnesia, because I'll be going about my life, business as usual, and now and then out of nowhere I'll get this wonderful whiff of something. What IS that?? I'll be looking around. Once I had actually just put in a new plug-in air freshener and was really surprised that it smelled that good, before I figured it out it wasn't the air freshener because it was following me around Oh riiiight...I'm wearing Cougar! As far as the pheros go, I don't get any self effects from this one or had any hits that I've noticed. I think I need to play around more with the amount I'm using before writing it off, but so far I've had much better success with SS4W as far as the "sexy social" blends go.
  7. I want to trade skin chemistry with you, BG The only thing that smells like cinnamon on me is cinnamon, and then it's not just "cinnamon," it's CINNAMON!!! IN UR SINUSES!!!111!
  8. I got a LPMP package this morning and thought it was going to be my order from the last day of the sale. But it was the WEENIE SAMPLER!!! SQUEEEEE! The little jack o lantern is adorable! I'm going to put a tealight in it (uh, after I take out the trial vials! Hee hee!) Thank you so much, it made my day! I can't wait to start sampling all the goodies. (No, I literally can't...already huffing a little dab of Ebil-ish on my arm!)

    EBIL-ish!

I haven't tried Ebil-ish yet, but if it doesn't end up being your cup of tea, you should try Sugared Vanilla Bean for a good boozy extract-like vanilla that has no spices at all. I just love it!
  10. Wowza!! You are going to be in scent heaven when all that shows up at your door! Muahaha! LP Black taking over the world proceeds apace : steeples fingers : I've just got a couple of dinky little drops left in my trial vial, anxiously awaiting ship notice for my FB...I may start having withdrawal symptoms soon IT'S SO GOOD ISN'T IT?? I'm also very interested in Ebil-ish...trying not to be though. I'm only plotting 2 ahead...every time I receive a new order or try another sample, my plotting changes! I've got the same plan, and having the same trouble...particularly with Ebil-ish and Flying Potion...might need to block the shop from my web browser until I get my sampler lol
  11. My top 5 for now, in order 1. LP Black 2. Spider Silk 3. Sugared Amber 4. Veloute Lavande 5. Sugared Vanilla Bean
  12. Ooh, I didn't know Gotcha was a low-cops one! Good to know, I'd like to try that one eventually. I didn't realize Cougar has cops either, here I thought I was never wearing them out of the house, whoops
  13. No, nothing with cops in hair or on clothes. It'll stink really bad.
  14. This is a really pretty floral. I can't pick out any of the individual notes and I get no peach at all. It does initially go on strong, but at least on me, it calmed down and became more of a skin scent after about an hour. I enjoyed it. I ended up using most of my trial vial to scent a bath's worth of salts and it was just heavenly. I'd imagine the soap is fantastic!
  15. Those are some amazing Sugared hauls!! I only got Amber and Vanilla Bean. There are about eleventy billion I want to try, but I know myself well enough to know that unfortunately, if I had them, I would only use them a couple of times and then they'd sit in a drawer. I lack creativity in this department and have a surplus of laziness. I still want to get my mitts on Lavender though and maybe one of the musks.
  16. Thank you both muchly! That's what I was hoping to hear!
  17. Same here Beccah, thanks for saying something so I knew to check in IE! They look amazing! ETA I can see them now in Chrome, for some reason Adblock was blocking them so I turned it off for this site and voila!
  18. Please forgive the dumb newbie question, but will the Halloween scents be available in a sampler?
  19. Did you (gently) shake the vial first? Or roll it (tightly capped of course) between your palms if it is too full to shake? That's the only thing I can think of.
  20. I think you'd be fine with OCCO White, BG. It reminds me of vanilla frosting, not perfume. Adding it to my list of combos to try with LP Black, once I have more of it! I'm clinging to my last few drops in the trial vial, it's quite the sad state of affairs! Dolly (or anyone who'd like to chime in who has tried it!), would you say OCCO Black is similar to LP Black like OCCO Red is to LP Red? I love LP Black but it hadn't even occurred to me to try the OCCO as I wasn't sure they are actually supposed to "match" or if their colors are coincidental. Ok I just read this three times and I'm still not sure the question makes sense, I hope it does!
  21. Ok, I retried since my last post with some whole hog "what the hell" style slathering on a really stressful, grumpy day and wow After a couple of minutes in BB-land I felt like I'd just downed a shot of vodka, you know that warm and relaxed feeling? I went from bickering and feeling irritated with every word said to me to cracking jokes and watching TV and not even caring whether anyone laughed at my jokes. I'm very impressed. I just apparently need to use a lot more of it than what I use for the other pheros I've tried (which admittedly, are not very many at this point!) Thanks again for the tips!
  22. Oooh thank you! Fuel for obsessing! Expected: pumpkin-y goodness ('cause Mara said it smelled like "baking pumpkin pies," tee hee! And what's a Halloween theme without jack o' lanterns! ) I think I'm too new here to be able to guess at the other two. It sounds like one might be a returning favorite though?
  23. I apply to my fingertip with the trial vials too, I don't usually apply with the dinky little wand. I went through 80% of one of my trial vials in about a week by applying with a fingertip "swipe" to both forearms, decolletage, and back of the neck, twice a day, morning and evening. That's tipping the little vial onto my fingertip before each individual swipe. I could easily burn through a bottle of a scent I love in a month or two, applying twice a day to the same places. If the scent had pheros, it would take me longer to use it up for sure, because I don't use pheros every day.
  24. You should check out Nutrix's journal, she did a great post on there figuring phero dosage in spray versus oil form. It really helped me a lot in figuring out how much I need to use of the oils to give a phero blend a fair test. Keep in mind she is talking about unscented pheros, which are 1000 mcg per bottle, if I remember correctly the already phero enhanced fragrances on here are 333 mcg per bottle. Anyway here is a link, it's in the first post in the thread, just scroll down some: http://lovepotion.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=7871 .
