  1. I like this. Starts out as roses and leather. Dries down into a lovely, feminine scent and not as old fashioned as you might think. One of those that smells like a classy perfume without the commercial harshness. The bonus is that it has Mara's undertones that you are not going to get anywhere else. It's floral, but not overtly so. I think that undertone I'm getting is labdanum. I also love how it was created for an actress to evoke the character she plays!
  2. Welcome to LP and welcome to the forum!
  3. Nailed it! Oops. This didn't really "throw" on me. I certainly put enough on. And I don't think it smells sweet at all. It is masculine smelling. My husband's not much for the honey scents. I don't even own Phero Girl. I'll give it another chance just because cops make me feel complete and invincible.
  4. Opens up as a dreamy, creamy, slightly spicy pumpkin, but not overtly autumnal. Dries down to an oakmoss musk, but keeps the pumpkin. Dries down with that signature LP sugar note! I love how the pumpkin stays around. I love the milk/butter/cream note, but the cocoa butter gives it extra oomph at the beginning. What a sweet, delicate, classic LP scent! But, everyone knew this would be good, right?

    Still Life

I got an immediate apple rose at the beginning. Then another note popped out that I couldn't place -- raspberry. This note at first seemed to take the scent in an odd turn, but I now realize it added the depth. Perhaps my chemistry does not work with raspberry. This rose scent smells a little old fashioned, a little powdery, a little floral, a little fruity. Once the raspberry settled down, it buffed out into a nice rose sandalwood with a wisp of fruit running through it. The frankincense added to the smoothness. This was not a long lasting scent on me. It lasted for about 6 hours. It's pretty. Great story, Luna!

    Myrrh Merlot

I tried my sample today. However, I wore it over the Leather pheromone, so it may not be an accurate try. I got a soapy myrrh in a bath product kind of way. I didn't really get a pronounced "grape" scent -- more like a dusky, edible floral. It wasn't a total win for me. I'm not sure what I don't like. I have problems with plum notes no matter how much I like them in the bottle. Plum tends to stick around me never quite moving into the background, meaning I am always aware of it and not sure my chemistry reacts well. And I know some people have problems with tuberose (not sure I do). I also got a "shampoo"-like impression, not any particular shampoo just shampoo in general. So, I am sure this makes a fabulous bath/shower scent! I will give it another shot because I was totally intrigued and excited about a "purple musk scent". My sister had those scented Strawberry Shortcake dolls in the 80's, but I don't recall a Sour Grapes doll!
  7. Wore this yesterday. I really like it. I chose it over Sweet! which I haven't really worn yet. Smells great in the bottle, like a deep caramel apple. Gets kind of weird after applied -- all that woodsy stuff. But...it turns into a deep woodsy, caramel with a hint of apple and chocolate. And it carries. A co-worker came over to my cube and said "It smells like syrup over here." I guess the caramelized sugar.

    Myrrh Merlot

I have yet to try my sample I ordered. Tuberose and plum make grape? Interesting.... (off to smell sampler wand)

    Hello!

And another LP collection is started....welcome to the forum, Thea!
  11. You are a welcome addition to the forum!!!
  12. Yes! I totally got the eyeballs thing! Natural eyeballs this year! There's peaches in there, too? Sounds yummy! I, too, am waiting for the notes especially on the pumpkin ones. Alas, Luna's wonderful scribings (art of the word) cannot be rushed.
  13. Darn it! I knew I wanted this right away, but am still thinking about what to else to order. Congratulations, Eve!!
  14. I finally requested a sample of this one. I was so curious. It is tangy and leathery. I definitely smell the tobacco, not being smoked, but fresh and unburned. This one is not sweet. Later I really only smell unburnt tobacco and leather with a very, very slight sweetness. It wears light and later a little of the LP base peeks through. It dries down powdery but still maintains the tobacco/leather combo. I have to get right up on it and then I smell the powdery notes I guess left over from the sugar and some spiciness. Although interesting, it’s a bit too masculine for my liking.

    Aurora

I always preface a lavender scent review by saying I am not a big lavender fan. This is a sweet, milky lavender. The lavender has a medicinal tone. The marshmallow blossoms within seconds, but the medicinal tone remains (I actually feel it could clear out my nose!). Something else foodie, probably the vanilla comes out and the medicinal tone settles down. Now it is a yummy vanilla marshmallow, very vanilla, very marshmallowey. The lavender is now underneath it all. It ends up being a well-rounded lavender/marshmallow/vanilla scent. Lovely!
  16. I am not sure what note I get first in this one. I do get a musk with floral, then a sweetness comes out, a little dirty honey, but with the overtone of a sweet unpointy floral. It’s on my list.
  17. I’ve given this a couple tries because I tend to like the Love Potion variants. I get a sweet “white” patchouli right away with a perfumey apricot note. It is really light and faded away on me. I applied some more. I get some powderiness and the apricot comes out, but otherwise it is very light as in no throw at all. It is clean without being soapy or pointy. It is a totally white, not floral, apricotty LP and almost has a candy-like quality. It reminds me of LP Humidity without the flowers. It is extremely sheer on me and mostly apricot later. It’s a shame – I really love the scent, but I just can’t smell it on me for any length of time.

    Vampire Bait

I know I've already reviewed this, but.....This is such a nice mix. I get maple, floral, and a citrusy tang. I am finally discovering that it’s not honey I like in a scent, it’s maple as long as I do not smell like pancakes. There’s only one problem with this scent - - it fades on me much too quickly. Must reapply! Please keep this permanent, Mara!
  19. I have kind of sworn off PEs (just trying to limit my purchases), but I couldn’t resist the label, the intent, and the combination of notes. In the bottle, it smells like fruity vanilla with a hint of coffee – fruity coffee – specifically blueberry as you would expect. After application, I get a blast of blueberry. It really stands out. I suspect the violet is lending support to the blueberry giving it a candied-like quality. I smell candied violets and blueberry and there is also a nutty note. Floral coffee – with the blueberry standing out, a candied blueberry, but I also smell violets. About five minutes in, the vanilla also makes a presence with the fruity violets. It’s comforting, a little foody -- hard to describe -- it just reminds me of the transient twilight in cool weather, you know that uncatchable pre-darkness of evening. It definitely smells like deep blue of evening. However, after a long drydown, it dries down to a perfumey scent that doesn’t resemble any of the beginning notes which is puzzling to me and loses its staying power in the process. It’s not unpleasant at this point. It just wish it would retain its beginning scent. On me, I feel it ends as a different scent. It is a gorgeous combo and unique idea. Another of Jennifer’s fantastic cat scents.
  20. This is floral, honey tea with a little bit of spice. Reminds me of a craft store. The honey is tempered and not dirty. I am not sure where the spice comes from, maybe there is vanilla in this? It almost reminds me of a cookie, yummy, better than I expected. It is equal parts honey, lemon tea, and floral with a cookie spice. It’s reminiscent of 221B to me. I thought this would be a fresh honey scent, but it smells more Autumn to my nose. I think it is a really good carrier for Aja.
  21. I requested a full sample of this and then purchased a full bottle in the 2016 sale. I just like the whole princess concept of this one. I first get a caramel. Then I get a tangy floral. Then I get a sweet perfumey scent, a little fruity, a little floral. It then rounds out to a light blended soft floral with some lemon, but I still get the amber and strawberry lemonade. I sum this up as a caramel fruity lemonade – perfumey, but in a good way. My only issue with is that it fades pretty quickly on me. It just has no staying power and I assume little throw. But it’s such a nice scent. Using some of the silicone between my skin and it helps, but it stills fades away. It is just so delicate a scent.
  22. I first get a musky and sweet scent with a slight vinegar note (cops). It turns a little warm and fruity then rounds out to a nice, warm musk. The drydown is the same. Somehow it reminds me of Wine & Dead Roses. Maybe they have the same black amber musk in common?
  23. I seem to have a long relationship to this scent. One of the first sniffees I ever received, I loved its dreamy quality. This was before I experienced so many of Mara’s scents. It got put on my list, purchased in last year’s sale, saved for February, and never worn. So, it seems like I’ve had it forever. It’s a candied floral. I get a blast of white chocolate, then a floral. A creamy, perfumey floral. The tuberose stands out and now it is a white slight juicy floral (as in it smells a teeny bit fruity). It is perfumey, but not pointy. It dries down to a vanilla musk rounded with tuberose.
  24. This is a sample I either purchased or requested as a freebie. For some reason I opted not to get the February 2015 sampler set, the only one I’ve missed since 2014. I get dark patchouli and musk with a tang of sweet fruit. It is powdery and old-fashioned smelling. Not very sweet and dark. It has a similar quality to Nox, but is a less edible version berry-wise due to the black currant. I always translate black currant to being more perfumey than edible. It's on my list...
  25. I got this full-size sample from Rose Blackthorn when I purchased some scents from her. This is leathery. A clean, deep, rich rose. Kinda soapy. It reminds me of a classy department store because of the leather note. I like it because it is not a total rose floral—it just smells very sophisticated and classy. A warm undertone comes out that I can’t place that may be the wine. It kind of smells like rose incense. I find it very unique, I am picking up a bottle in the sale!
