  1. @androstenol it is a sex bomb, isn’t it?  I originally planned to have Mara boost one with BI, but my order got complicated, and ultimately I didn’t. This would really be good with any of 5he heavier hitting phero blends.  Sexpionage, BI, even Cuddle Bunny or Bang Bang.  I did get one boosted with cops though.

  2. Fragrances that have maple can be a problem for me.  I love tobacco scents, and vanilla and musk are sure bet friends of mine 🙂

So far (I’ve only tested it once) the maple stayed true to a nice maple scent.  Maybe because there are no accompanying gourmand spices is why this maple works for me.  Or maybe it’s the lack of patchouli.  Whatever the reason, this is a maple I can wear.

I’d happily wear this especially in autumn.  It is a cozy delectable scent. I’d be equally happy to smell it on a guy.  Oftentimes unisex scents still play out as “somewhat masculine but not too much so”.  Not this one. This is an anybody fragrance.

  3. My initial impression was distinct chrysanthemum when I first applied it. I didn’t smell any carnation really, and I love  the scent of fresh carnations. I’m going to give it a little while later to rest, and try it again.  I like the smokiness, it is very much like an autumn flower bouquet.  I get that impression of having raked a pile of  dry rustling leaves.  This is very fall like, and a departure from gourmand spices we associate with autumn.  It’s not a “me” type scent, but I don’t dislike it, I was hoping for more carnation though.   I’ll revisit it later on.

Adding that the oak made an appearance after a while, it gives it a more complex quality, and I liked it better after I had it on for a while.  I meant to state this in my review above.

  4. Awww that’s cute. But I was never a little Debbie’s oatmeal cake fan. (Ex husband is lol).

I like this. To me it is a  seasonal type scent. And right now is the season 🎃.

Last night   I layered it with some OCCO Mocha, and I truly did smell delicious.  The spices  the cinnamon become more prominent after it was  on for a while, and eventually  overwhelmed the coffee note from the OCCO Mocha, but that may have been because of the ratio I used for them.    I didn’t notice an actual cake/cookie type accord though, which is probably best with my unpredictable skin chemistry.

  5. I like this one too.  (And it’s my favorite label). I enjoy woodsy scents, but don’t usually wear them often.  Is is unisex, would love smelling on a guy, whether or not I’d use up a full bottle for myself, probably not, but that is only personal preference. It’s everything androstenal and oceanjewel said.

  6. So, on its own Lirial didn’t quite work, but it was close.  One day on a whim I layered it with Potion Bastet, and just like that (snaps fingers with a flourish) it turned into a smutty totally different scent that DID work for me.  The combination is in the same vein as Lilu.  It doesn’t smell like Lilu, but it lends the same impression without having the heavy hitting phero Sexpionage.

When I saw that Mara added Potion Bastet to this year’s sale, I almost grabbed another bottle as backup.

  7. I finally managed to drag myself away from Beewitched.  I’m currently in Lantern.  I really like this one too, but I need to give it until tomorrow morning to see how the spices react with my skin chemistry over time.

It is definitely gourmand, but not overly sugary on me so far.   It is similar to something I’ve worn in the past, and enjoyed, but I cannot place…

It’s yummy, and smells  like autumn in a bottle to me.  I bake a lot, especially in fall and winter.  And early in to wearing it, it smells more like how the combined  spices smell in the batter (or pie filling) while still in the bowl before baking.

  8. Well, this absolutely does smell like roses, but I would not call it a typical floral perfume.  SLF? yes.  I commented in the new releases thread that when first applied there seems to be a civet note, but that is fleeting.  Mara said it was the type of honey she used.

It wears pretty close to the skin, even when first applied, but it has staying power.  Depending on where it is applied seems to affect the scent hours later.   In warmer areas such as the cleavage, it retained more of the roses scent, wrists ended up mainly a honeyed musk.  But this was my first wearing, and it still theoretically can change after it settles from travel.

What a gift it is to me, a long time rose grower, who has never found a rose perfume to love.  This one I do! :heart0974:

My sampler pack arrived yesterday so I'm attempting to let it rest a full day, but I thought I'd give a high-level initial impression since I haven't done that in quite a while for a collection.….

BeeWitched: OMFG this is so gorgeous!!!

What Luna said!   Wet when first applied I’d swear there was civet in it, but that impression did not last more than a minute or two.  Those of you who are not fans of civet needn’t worry.

I could not wait to open my sampler once it arrived. (It was almost mis-delivered too, but I intercepted the mail person).

I know I should  wait until it’s had a chance to settle after its journey all the way to the east coast, but I was too impatient.

There  are so MANY beautiful scents!  Wow!!!

I love Lantern too.  Those are both full bottles for me, and multiple ones at that.

Cassia is another I like.  I need to make sure the maple in it doesn’t amp (I think maple is listed as a note?). I like that it’s not too sweet.  I agree it’s cinnamon toast, not a cinnamon roll.

Nose going from wrists (Beewitched) then huffing cleavage (Lantern). I’m a happy girl right now.

The unisex ones, even though listed as new releases in the men’s section are not too masculine.  I might get a full bottle of Mourning Glory. The coffee note comes out on top, and I enjoy that.

I’m so distracted right now, I have go read all the notes again, now that I have them here to sniff 😀

  10. I’m just translating for others to answer.

I think it starts out that he has a question about leather jacket and coat  and how to handle pheromones getting on them if he uses a spray. How long will the pheromones linger, in case he wants to wear a different pheromone the next time. ANd how to clean off leather… which ones don’t have to be cleaned off.  (My German which was always pretty bad, is  rusty at this point.)

  11. The  perfume/phero pairings discussion brought another question to mind.  If a perfume has a scent that one loves and it only is available with a pheromone that either doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t induce desired effect on the other half of a romantic relationship,  or even not ideal for some occasions, is there a way to counteract it by applying another pheromone blend?

I’m not talking about something containing copulins, I understand that they’re in the perfume, and that’s that. But say a pheromone has a dominant “in charge” type effect, or the opposite, one that has a girly extra feminine “take care of little precious me” vibe.  Can an amateur (ie me :)) add another pheromone to neutralize it?

    thanks!

  12. Okaaaaay 😎. Here we are with a new bunch of goodies to try out, and most of the fall/winter releases do not have added pheromones.

What do we think will go with each?

@luna65 I’m hoping for your take on as many as you’re willing to comment on. I found it interesting that you don’t layer your scents with pheros, but have Mara boost them.  And not just Luna,  I want the phero savvy amongst us  to offer their take too.

Instead of going in a nice orderly alphabetical fashion, I’m going to ask about the ones I  *think*  I’ll be most interested in, and please, I want others  to contribute with the new NRs they want to add to the list.

First one for me is Beewitched.  I like that it can be a sexy fragrance all on its own.  If I like it a lot, and decide to buy four bottles, how should I pair it, or have it boosted?  In my imaginary future collection of Beewitched bottle, I would keep one as a virgin and  have one boosted with an OCCO level of cops, but what should I do with the remaining two?  Seeing as this is my own little (imaginary)  stash I’ll give a bit more information about phero blends I like or don’t like. Good ones for me are BI LFN.  There are  others I like, such as Lumina, Charisma 4W, LFM, Gotcha and Sexology, but it  sounds like these  might not have a heavy hitting enough sexual edge to be a match for Beewitched.   But what do I know?  I’ve not even sniffed it yet.

Sexpionage is great, but I have an almost full bottle of another scent that has Sexpionage, and am not feeling the love for adding it to something else right now. Cuddle bunny is good too.  I’m iffy at best for Leather, and just no to Dominance.  I don’t know if I’ve tried Lace on it’s own, just the scented version.
