  1. It's okay, we still laugh about it to this day. I love (as all of us do, I'm sure) that M&D entered into this realm because my previous experiences with trying pheros w/covers was not that fun. I need some art with my science, you know? It's just so easy now to have some fun with it.
  2. There's always that possibility...I do have to say that I've only ever had one experience like that, and it was one of the first times I used PG Super. I was out with a friend of mine and we met up with another friend for dinner. The third friend and I went to the ladies room at the same time and she said, "Julie, don't take this the wrong way but you smell...weird." I said, "It's okay, what do I smell like?" And she was really embarrassed but she said I smelled like pee, and had honestly thought maybe I had accidently wet my pants. I had described the SS mix as "metallic" but of course that's one characteristic of urine. I explained the situation and she said she only sensed it when she was right next to me, so we sat as far apart as we could the rest of the evening. I have braved it in certain circumstances, but PG Super is something I cannot wear casually because my own sensitivity is just too great. However, it is evident that Pharmacom's mix is assuredly potent and therefore effective in the right circumstances. As Mara said, we're dealing with the chemical signatures of sexual secretions, so it's always best to keep that in mind when using pheromones and hope for the best.
  3. I wouldn't recommend Prell for regular use, but it IS the ultimate clarifier. Whenever I have had occasion to use it then I follow up with a conditioning regimen immediately.
  4. I know there are people who say they can't smell the pheros, or if they do they're just vaguely musky or whatever, but for those of us who are sensitive this is exactly what they can smell like, especially in high concentrations. I've had to be careful over the year or so I've used them because if I'm making myself ill then it tends to negate the effect I want it to have in terms of my demeanor with others. And if you ever want to get ANYTHING out of your hair pronto, use Prell.
  5. And that's exactly the difference between artisan perfume and commercially-produced scents: the latter is created to be a consistent experience from bottle to skin, for every single person every single time. Whereas the former are a very subjective and personal experience, but that's the adventure of it all!
  6. I believe they all have the same base (amber-vanilla-patchouli), so then there might also be other elements in common, though I find that eventually as the topnotes dissipate I get that "classic" LP aura with all of them except for Black, which goes kind of funky in the drydown (which is why I always have to layer it with Red).
  7. I accidently spilled some on my carpet, that was fun. It's interesting...the EoW is really not noticable to me in this one as it is in PG (a vague edge of fruity cheese), so it does all depend on our particular chemistry and sensitivities.
  8. I was on vacation last week and wore Me, Jane! exclusively the entire week with really nice results...not necessarily sexual, but people being very friendly and upbeat. Even a very lovely gentleman from the UK (Englishmen are my weakness) and his son followed me around when I visited a particular attraction (I was back in New Hampshire visiting family). There were a few flirty overtures here and there but overall just great smiles...always a wonderful thing to see. I went to a Subway one day for lunch and the girl behind the counter said I reminded her of pancakes. So see, M&D even when you don't put maple in something people can still smell it because you use it so well (or maybe, because it's NH, people can always smell maple).
  9. As I understand it, the only differences have occurred as a result of a third party (i.e. Pharmacom, Stone Labs) developing a unscented mix to approximate the phero blends which Ail and Mara originally created. If you look at the ingredients lists for things like Cuddle Bunny and PG Dominance you can see what's been added to the unscented versions. Some of the others utilize already existing formulations like Drop Your Guard (Synchronicity) and Swimming With Sharks (Breaking The Ceiling), some appear to be created for the express purpose of showcasting a particular blend, like the Super set and Cougar Potion.
  10. I like to dab or roll-on phero mixes along the part in my scalp (since heat emanates from the top of our head) as well as through my hair for diffusion purposes. My desk chair at work is actually rather low, so my male co-workers get a good whiff of me that way.
  11. If you read the threads in the review subforum for specific scents in the pheromone series, people will normally give their impressions of the effectiveness as well as the scent (or just the former if it's an unscented phero blend). In this subforum people tend to discuss the components specifically.
  12. LOL, I wonder how well Phantom of the Trailer Park would work (having liquor and BBQ), then! Maybe it's an ambience type of blend, that would be interesting.

    Sultry Afternoon

Guilty as charged...what can I say, I loves me some honey!
  14. Based on the reactions, I'd say this is a must for the bath and body line!
  15. scourger you are too funny! Danna, once a Lit Major always a Lit Major...I live to interpret things!
  16. It's in the Swimming With Sharks blend, which is designed to garner respect in the work environment. The component itself seems to be primarily male - it's related to testosterone - but whomever has utilized that blend can tell you how effective it is.
  17. Let's see... -Forever After, since it's a phero blend...one of the new Stone Labs creations, the one which inspires feelings of commitment? -LP Summer Solstice '08 is pretty self-explanatory, heh. I love Mucha! -Fairy Lure is likely a fruit/flower type of blend, whatever is known to attract the Fae? -Insight Potion is for divination? Sort of in the spirit of Medium, I'm thinking. -"...and everything nice" has gotta be a sugar & spice blend! -Blossom of Love is an Oriental blend, it seems certain...mainly floral (flowers attributed to love in Japanese mythology)? -In The Mood, I'm kinda surprised this isn't a phero blend...is it musk-based? I'm getting the same vibe from the artwork as I did from Turn On...something dark in a resin-y musk-y kind of way. Is it a "classic scent" tribute as well? -Naughty Minx, Pin-Up Girl series, of course! So something drop-dead sexy! It's funny, the artwork looks like it's exactly like the famous Coppertone ad except with a chemise-clad honey! -Liberty Belle, something reminiscent of a good old-fashioned 4th of July? I always think of berries, for some reason. Like strawberry shortcake with whipped cream. -Sun Catcher...either something related to summer (components which given an impression of sunnyness/warmth) or components which are specifically related to The Sun in a metaphysical fashion.
  18. A sure sign of artisan perfumery addiction is the stalking of the website when updates are due, heh. We're all guilty!
  19. I received a small sample of this in my last order...it has a nice sugary quality in the vial, intensely vanilla but very sweet (frosting-like, as Dolly says). In the wet stage it reminds me of Sugared Vanilla Bean, but while that one has a buttery quality, SFV is definitely more syrup-like. It retains that same quality in the drydown, but it doesn't last long on me, only a couple hours. But now I'm curious to layer it with SVB to see if they work well together.
  20. I LOVE that word, I try to use it as often as possible!

    Sugared Roses

Ah ha! That's good to know, because I didn't see an option for that either.

    Sugared Roses

I don't think you can get LP Red and Black in solid form anymore, but if you go to the "Gift Sets and Specials" section of the Gift Shoppe you'll see the form for Sugared Roses in the solid (it's on sale!).

    Sugared Forest

This is another one I keep meaning to write about...I received a small sample in a previous order (last year, I think) and I was really surprised at how much I liked it, because I'm not normally one for green scents, but this is definitely more of a wood/resin rendition, and the sugar helps (as it does in other versions) to amplify the inherent qualities of the other components without rendering them overly sweet. I gave this one to my OTL because it does smell great on a guy (Sugared Patchouli is another one which is wonderfully unisex) but it's also nice for females who do enjoy those types of blends. It's such a novel concept, but it works!
  24. It took me a while, heh, but I finally got around to trying this beauty. I have always enjoyed majmua blends, like the famous 96 Majmua, and this one is wonderful in that classic sense: smoky and earthy, yet dense and lush, but also calming and grounding. That is the secret to a great majmua, to my mind, to take all of those seemingly disparate elements and combine them for beautiful harmony. This blend seems to have more of an emphasis on the wood/resin/earth characteristics and yet doesn't possess a predominantly "male" aura as some fragrances might, it really does have a true unisex quality. Absolutely exotic and lovely!
  25. Heh, that reminds me...we had a kerfluffle at work the other day when I was wearing Cougar Potion and I thought I might have been in trouble, but my boss (who is normally friendly but professional) was telling me about what happened, and then he leaned in and said, "I want to assure you this is a non-issue, okay?" And he gave me a look like he didn't want me to be worried, a very sort of it's okay honey type of thing. So I got all wide-eyed and said, "Okay. Thank you." and did my best to look grateful. I just cracked up after he left my desk..I must have looked all sparkly to him too!
