  1. It's odd, I don't get any berries from this at all - or anything else edible, for that matter. It's a bright, steel kind of scent; very watery and ozone-y and very very clean without getting soapy. I kind of like it, but it doesn't really feel at home on my skin; there is something steel-like about it. Hmmmm, 'Blue Steel' perhaps....? I think I'll keep the sample; it makes a refreshing (literally!) change from the sweeter, foodier scents I usually wear and there is something very refreshing about it that I think will be lovely in summer.
  2. This is wonderful! So sweet and comforting. It's much more cream than coffee on my skin; a hint of caramel also (a very pale, soft caramel) but I can't really detect any cinnamon. It's the scent you'd want to wrap yourself in when you're feeling poorly and tired and cold; just snuggle up with this soft, cozy scent. The only downside is that I really have to restrain myself from sipping the sample!
  3. Whooooo dear, I knew I should not have clicked.... How does this work? I have bough one PE before, but that was from the Artfire site. Can I ask for it to be reserved here, and then add it to my next order somehow? If possible, I'd love one of Sleep Tight Might and one of Lady Victoria's Midnight Snack.
  4. Oh, ageing! I'd completely forgotten about that.... Hm, might have to get a bottle after all (if there is some left by the time I place another order) just to try that out!
  5. LOL, I'd forgotten there were actually two! I was talking about Vampire Bait, but Ambrosia is gorgeous too...
  6. Oh but the one with the woman is SUCH a great label!!! Although I'm pretty sure the notes would not work on me, I was sorely tempted to order it because of that label alone - well, that and the name, which I also love. I had to be really frugal though, but I think I might put a sample in with my next order.
  7. I really, really, totally was going to skip July's releases.... But then today I caved and ordered just a couple (not the full sampler this time). I'm going on holiday for the first time in 5 years in less than two weeks' time, and these sounded so perfect for a wonderful summer holiday! (that banana is totally playing a ukulele, right? Because one of the things I will be doing is going to a ukulele festival; 3 days of playing and fun with loads of people from all over the world! I'm not very good yet and I don't know everybody, so I'm a tiny bit nervous...) Shipping has been quite fast lately, so if I am lucky I might even receive them before I leave.... But it's going to be tight!
  8. I love LP Red, so I had high hopes for this one! The first whiff from the sample and the first couple of minutes on my skin are lovely; a bit like LP Red, yes, but warmer, more spicy - and more spicy too in a non-literal sense, if you know what I mean. Unfortunately, after that initial burst of lovelyness, something starts amping op on my skin. I can't put my finger on what it is; it's not the cinnamon (which I do tend to amp, but I don't usually mind that), perhaps a different spice? It's quite distracting and a little frustrating, because I can still smell the rest of the Rouge behind it, as it were - but this one element just pushes to the foreground, shouting. I might be able to wear it on my clothes or in a scent locket, though. I've even considered ordering another sample (might still do that later) so I can experiment a bit more freely; perhaps with some kind of buffer or a rich cream on my skin, that might change the chemistry enough so that that one thing does not drown all the other notes. In any case, it is great to experience a variation on a scent I love very much!
  9. Lately, I find myself plotting planning at least two orders ahead... Although every time, when I actually do get ready to order, usually a sample comes up that changes the whole plan!
  10. Thank you! That sounds good; I'll be returning from holiday (broke but, hopefully, rested) at the beginning of August, so at least there is some chance of a little money getting into my account again before the sale ends.
  11. Thank you NuTrix and StacyK! Yes, waiting is probably a better idea - especially with the sale coming up (is that in September, or in August? I'm going to be pretty broke in August, hoping it will be September...).
  12. Thank you! Yes, on the occasions where I've worn Levitation (in Flying Potion), I've sort of deliberately used it for the giddyness factor; going to the first dance lesson in a group of people I'd never met before, etc. It seemed to work well on both myself and the people around me, in that setting! A slightly more serene, less bouncy of that would be nice, though - might have to try and find some room in the budget for the 'un next month or so.
  13. I wasn't expecting to like this much, since fruits scents are usually not my thing. I'm still not sure if I'll ever get a full bottle of it (who knows what might happen in the sale in August, though!) but I will definitely be using up my sample! In the vial, it is very fruity and light; it smells delicious actually, if it were in a glass I would drink it without hesitation. (don't worry, I won't drink this! I've accidentally gotten perfume oils on my lips often enough to know that they do not taste as nice as they smell....) On my skin it slowly goes a bit deeper and warmer; it is not one of those scents that morph dramatically, but the coconut comes out a tiny little bit, and the fresher fruits (the pineapple mostly I think) move to the background a little bit. Not a hint of cops that I can smell, which is excellent: I usually apply cops well before I get dressed, but if I forget that I and I do want to wear cops at some point, I would feel pretty safe in applying this to, say, the crooks of my elbows. It is very summery; one of those mellow, warm, sweet summer days that are sort of lazily sensual.
  14. I love Nag Champa, and while it does show up in perfume oils from time to time, I have yet to find a really good Nag Champa scent! I'm hoping it will be amongst the sugareds to be released in August (going to see if I can get the search feature to cooporate there), I have high hopes that this will be my ultimate Nag Champa perfume.
  15. This sounds like such a great phero! Unfortunately, none of the scents I've tried that contain it were a great success on my skin. I'm sort of considering an UN bottle of Open Windows in my next order. I do use Flying Potion 2013 from time to time and I do like that one; how different in feel is Levitation from Open Windows?
  16. This was really the sort of soapy scent I did not used to like - but Love Potions has made me re-think that! Sure, I still love the sultry, sweet and foodie scents (Mara's Rocket Fuel for instance, or the Sexology scent - plus probably hundreds of others) but there is certainly room in my collection for something as fresh as this! Sort of as a palate-cleanser, as a change from my usual scents. It helps that, unlike a lot of alcohol-based perfumes in this category, it's not stabby or sharp; it is clean, light and fresh but it doesn't do the overwhelmingly soapy thing on my skin that others can do. I actually wear it combined with Rocket Fuel sometimes, to sort of lighten that up a little. They work surprisingly well together! Phero-wise, it makes me feel relaxed and confident, good in my skin.
  17. Hmmm, I was planning to order a sample of this, but it looks like it doesn't come as a sample?
  18. Ha, Like a Magnet is just SO MUCH fun! It seems to work for me like Lace seems to work for other people here; happy sauce. I do tend to be careful with it and only use it in appropriate situations, because it hits some men like a brick between the eyes; a brick that leaves them grinning and happy, though. Interestingly, this is so far the only a-nol heavy blend that I can do pretty much any time, no need to worry about my mood (with other ones, I can get sad or grouchy if I wasn't very cheerful in the first place; I can do a-nol generally only when I'm 'up' already). I have it in Pink Amber (plus one or two samples in other scents, but the Pink Amber is the only one I use regularly) and the scent reallly fits the phero well; happy and bubbly and sweet. I do smell the cops quite strongly at first, but fortunately they back off soon and after that they blend in very well with the scent.
  19. Ah, how could I not have reviewed this one earlier?? I am thrilled this scent will never go away, because I never ever ever want to be without it. It's amber, it's honey, a smidge of skin, a sparkle of gold and a whiff of abricot... Just such a warm, lovely, comfortable scent. Out of all my Love Potion favorites (the others being Pink and Red, although Black and I are starting to like one another a lot too!) this one is the most comfortable feeling for me. If I am not sure what my day is going to be like, what I want to smell like, then I will put on Original. No matter the weather, the circumstances, my mood etc, it ALWAYS works well for me.

This was a lot lighter than I was expecting after reading the notes! The label is very well chosen here; it perfectly evokes the feel of the scent for me. Very crisp, very clean; it threatens to veer into soapy but never quite gets there, it stays more sheer than that. It smells very young and fresh (although 1000 times better than the perfumes I used to wear as a teenager!). It is a bit too light and 'dry' for me I think, but I suspect I know several women who would really like it. I certainly would not mind smelling it on someone else; I suspect it might be a more interesting scent on someone with a different skin chemistry from mine.
  21. That's so funny, I don't really get any lemon at all! It's all sweet mapley goodness on me, very warm and reassuring (in fact, it reminds me a lot of Mother Ship) and snuggly. Just a lovely, comforting scent; pretty strong but not overwhelming. It makes me smile, there is something very relaxing about it.
  22. Whoboy, do scent and phero ever go together in this one! I love the scent but I'm not sure I can pull it off on a daily basis - and the phero seems to bring out something steely in me that is there anyway, but usually buffered a bit. It smells heady and rich but not sweet at all; I can smell oranges but these are serious oranges, nothing sunshiny about them. The whole thing is very dark and heavy; a little goes a long way and I keep catching whiffs from the small amounts I have put on my wrists. It also lasts forever; through the day and I think I could even detect a lingering bit of it the next morning. If I had a bit more money I would have sprung for a FB I think. I guess I'll just have to make my sample last and apply it when it really counts. This stuff is backbone in a bottle!
  23. Could it be that you have an adblocker or a popup blocker? I use Adblock Plus and that kept me from seeing the labels, until I gave this site permission.
  24. It's so weird; I was slowly getting used to the way my PP sample smelled on me (still very very floral, but especially layered it sort of worked) and I love the Heart & Soul phero, so I opened my bottle and started using that as well. And it smells very different from the sample! Much better, fortunately. Less one-note-wisteria, the scent from the bottle is much deeper and darker and more complex, and I can actually smell the smoke. I'm VERY happy with the scent from the bottle! I wonder what caused the difference though (comparing the two, they're still very different): I alway shake samples & bottles very well before I apply so I don't think it's that.
  25. OMG, you had to pick animals!!!!!! *dies of cute* I completely agree, you need goats. Cute, bouncey, baaaaaaby goats!
