  1. I used to obsess over every little thing that I ate or put on my body... Then I realized that I'd have to live in a bubble. The obsession was making my overall health state worse than if I were not obsessing over this and puting more toxins in and on my body. It's all a matter of moderation, in my opinion, and what risks we are ok with, as androstenol says. Not sure if you ever read the ingredients of your skin care, make-up, or bath products, but I guarantee that unless you make them yourself from organic ingredients, you will find something that is bad for you. Plus, the definition of organic and non-GMO itself is relative. Have you looked at this? http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ I used be on an all-natural skin care routine, be very careful what I'd put on my skin. Then I realized that every time I was in the art studio, I'd get ink and mineral spirits on my skin no matter how hard I tried to avoid it, even while wearing gloves. Then I had to scrub hard to remove all of that... So I stopped obsessing over all-natural skin care products. Yes, they are great, but if I find something that I like may have an ingredient I cannot pronounce, that doesn't mean I should avoid it all together. In the end, we are likely to die from something we have no control over anyway. Therefore, I've decided to enjoy life, and try to not overdo anything - be it work, exercise, eating, having too much fun, pheromones,... etc. A balanced life works best for me, because it keeps me happy and in turn that helps keep my immune system high; of course my definition of balanced may be different than everyone else's. Just my two scents.
  2. Check out this thread, on business networking, it should help: http://lovepotion.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=7183 I went with Open Windows in a similar situation. Maybe add Topper if you want a more fun vibe.
  3. What's the purpose of the meeting?... How do you want them to interact with you?
  4. I ended up wearing Open Windows. I think people were chatty enough, given that we were walking mostly single file. I also got tired really fast, which meant I had to make a conscious effort to talk. All in all, I think it was a good choice, but since it was a sample vial of Totem Panda and hiked in 25-30*C heat, I don't know how well I gaged my application.
  5. I think my question almost fits in this category... I was wondering if you can give me some advice. I am going on a hike with coworkers/potential hiring manager tomorrow who are flying over to the US from Europe and would like a social, open, happy vibe, but also professional - since I do want to get hired. So, even though my coworkers are using this hike as a way to get over their jet lag, I am looking at it as business networking. My question is, OW, or SWS? Or a different blend? I wear SWS at the office, and it works well in terms of getting a respect vibe from my male entourage, but it's definitely not a happy, uplifting social. OW got my misogynist male manager very chatty and open towards me, but I didn't feel he was looking at me with respect. So, I'm torn. Most of the hiking group already knows me and they think highly of me, but I do not want to screw up my chances at a potential dream job... The group is made up of 2 females in their 40's, 2 males in their late 40's/early 50's, a 12 year old, my fiance and I. My fiance, one of the ladies, and the child are family tagging along the hike. I am inclined to think OW is the right choice in this case, maybe with a couple of Topper sprays?
  6. I know, I wonder if it means it's just "sharp" on me? I asked my fiance to smell my wrist a few minutes after dry down, and he said "something floral", when to me it still smelled peppery with a hint of floral... Well, at least it still works!

    Pixie Dust

When wet, I get aniseed... mixed with perfumey sugar and medicinal lilac. It reminds me of some candy I used to love as a child that has a hint of aniseed in it. As it dries down, the spice goes away - but not entirely - and I am left with sweetness. This is mostly candy on me, with a hint of floral. Almost like different version of honeysuckle. I can't distinguish the vanilla, but the lilac seems to be there - very faint. The musk isn't overpowering, leaving this to smell sweet and fairly clean on my skin, which I am very happy with!!! Great for day scent, especially on a sunny day!
  8. I didn't see a topic on this, but I would like to know if there are any negative effects if both my sweetheart and I wear phero blends around each other. For example - he wears MVP, I wear Blatant Invitation. Or, he wears Teddy BB... and I wear Compromising Positions? These two seem not congruent with each other at all. Can we get an OD effect if we wear the same phero, like Perfect Match? What happens if the two phero blends contradict each other? What if they are congruent? For example, both wear an alpha signature? Thanks!
  9. I first got a sample of this and tried it on the back of my hand when my monthly guest was in town. I immediately loved it - it smelled like a perfumey flowery scent on my skin! Not to mention that it was the first LP scent that my sweetheart claimed to like and equated to a real perfume So I decided, within minutes, to get a full bottle from the trades threads. A week later, I slather myself with the scent (since now I have a full bottle), and in the first twenty minutes all I get is cinnamon and black pepper with a hint of flowers. This is really interesting, given that there's no cinnamon at all! Maybe it's the red clover tea. Think of a spicy cup of unsweetened tea, with hints of flowers. An hour later, the spice dies down a bit, but I can still smell it... not so much cinnamon... Now it smells like fresh white flowers, with a hint of black pepper and clove. I like it, it's not powdery like certain flowery scents can be. It's bright, and perfect for the office. Glad I got the full bottle!
  10. It would be really tough not get the sampler sets! Love the labels!
  11. Well, I'd certainly be inclined to get the full sampler set if it consisted of pheroed wax melts - there would be no worries about my skin chemistry anymore. But yes, I know with everyone being so anxious about the new releases, that kind of funny, yes...
  12. It would be funny if all the new releases/ sampler set consist(s) of wax melts.

    Wicked

I figured I would review this one since it's the perfect time of the year for it! I applied a swipe from the sample vial and immediately it smelled like fall, and Thankgiving and Halloween around! It's sweet, creamy and spicy! It reminded me of pumpkin pie, with a cinnamon stick next to it. Once it dries down I continued to amp the cinnamon unfortunately, so much that it would overwhelm all other notes It still gave me a feeling of fall inside- which is nice given that I live in Arizona and it's still 90* (30*C) during the day outside. I think this perfect when waiting for Trick or Treaters or going Trick or Treating with your kids!!!
  14. I tried a swipe of my sample on my wrist a few weeks ago and something smelled really dirty on me. It was probably the honeycomb. It just stayed warm, sweet and dirty. I had to wash it off. A couple of weeks later, when I discovered that I was warming up to LP Rouge, I tried it again. I applied a couple of swipes on my wrists and belly. Although I found the two LPs very similar when wet, LP Black, to me, is creamier and darker than LP Rouge, and not as perfumey, but for some reason it still smells dirty on my skin... I get no spice (no wonder, there is no cinnamon). My skin just smells sweet, creamy, warm and... dirty. Or maybe dark is the right word? You know, the" smokey powder" scent Maybe my nose just hasn't graduated to the LP Black level yet.
  15. I think Mara and the elfs at LP are still catching up after the October releases and all the hard work that went into those I am not ready for a full scented sampler, but I definitely can't wait for the unscented phero samples! Got my list ready!!!
  16. This is a very interesting topic indeed. I am inclined to believe what androstenol has said, that pheros can help you improve yourself, at least some of them. There are two ways I plan on using to improve myself. First, is to enhance myself from a personal development perspective: I am trying to impose myself in a male dominated work environment, and while I do use SWS most days, when I don't, I make a conscious effort to act as if I were wearing SWS. Do people treat me any differently when I don't wear SWS? No, but I don't think I have worn SWS long enough to instill the confidence I need in myself, and in turn, imprint that image of myself onto others. As a matter of fact, I don't even know if people react to the SWS or to me - and the fact that I know when I am wearing SWS I need to have an "in charge", confident attitude. I don't know if I am getting this across right - I am trying to say that there may be a placebo effect as well making me act more in charge. I have noticed however that if I wear LFM to work, or nothing at all, I doubt myself and hence I don't send the same vibe I would if I were wearing SWS. From this point of view I am using pheros as a personal improvement tool. One day I should be able to go phero naked while still have the same confident persona that SWS will have hopefully helped me build for myself and and in the eyes of those around me. (as a side note, I have also read on the forum that you should not wear cops to work because you do not want your coworkers to get the wrong idea of you. This inclines me to believe that pheros can be imprinted on those around you... Maybe I misunderstood the context...) The second way to improve myself is from a more physical attractiveness point of view. This is probably not something I can build up and go phero naked eventually... I have yet to find a sexual phero that works on my sweetheart. Even the cops don't seem to affect him - and I'm just about to turn 30. Maybe I am not getting into the role when I wear them - or he doesn't understand my phero signature since I'm usually fun, silly and loving, and not a "sex goddess". Maybe I need to wear the sexual ones more around him so I imprint that onto him in order to get the effect I am looking for... I don't know. From this point of view I think I need to experiment more and stick to blends that work once I find them. As a side note, I would like to bring up what Eggers was talking about, the "does not compute" aspect. I get that without wearing any pheros. At work, I am professional, composed, I don't let any of the "fun" me come out. If someone from work bumps into me at my art studio for example, no pheros involved in either situation, they are very likely to get a "does not compute" reaction, because at the art studio I am in my element and I exude creativity, I am relaxed, I open up and I am chatty. That never happens at work. That's just an example - but what I am trying to say is that at work I employ a much different persona than outside. I'm curious to see what others have to say about this topic as well.
  17. I know it's an old thread, but how about the wax melts? I know Mara had some boosted with SS4M at one point, on Artfire. Then you would not have to have him wear them. And there is a thread that talks about adding pheros to the oil burner yourself... I am trying to achieve a similar goal as LoveStruck, even though it seems that my fiance might be ok with trying pheros I am very close to having him try some boosted scents, but I'll start with social ones, and maybe Goal with Teddy BB. So far he uses unpheroed Areion Skye for work, and LP #9 before bed... for me, but I'm pretty sure it's because he just loves that scent.
  18. I am not sure why I won't give this one up... most likely because I want to use up the LFM Today, I figured I would wear it to work - to avoid my SO from smelling me. But he was still around when I was getting ready to leave. I applied the scent, quite generously I must say, and he walks in the bedroom saying: "Smells like honey!" Where did this come from?! Before I left, I told him it's the scent he always refers to as the "smokey poo/smokey baby wipes" one, and I wanted to only wear it at work so he wouldn't smell it... And his reply was "Well, you keep saying the LP scents have honey in them, so I guess I am starting to detect that". There are 2 factors that are contributing to this change, in my opinion: 1) It's my time of the month, and I don't remember wearing LP Rouge during this time before 2) SO woke up sneezing and with a stuffy nose, so he may not be discerning notes properly An hour later from application, my wrist still smells perfumey with a hint of honey, which is a pleasant surprise!!! When did this happen?! How did I miss this? To make everything better, I walk out of the elevator at work, and one of the ladies sees me and says "Good morning, you look so pretty today! Lovely outfit!" I never got that reaction on this particular girly outfit. I really hope it doesn't turn smokey as the day goes by.
  19. Oh no! I've been wearing SWS to work pretty much Mon-Fri, with maybe one day off... I'd be really sad for myself or those around me to become immune to it.
  20. Thanks, Halo! Did you become immune as in you couldn't notice any more self-effects - I assume? And was that due to consecutive daily wear of the same blend? Did taking a longer break allow you to notice self-effects again?
  21. Sorry if this has already been addressed, but I was browsing through the pherotruth forum, and found this post: "Almost everyone , if not everyone, whose used Androstadienone daily for many years on pherotruth , have eventually stated they either cannot wear it anymore at all, or have reduction the quantity they used to apply, or the frequency. Androstadienone is a mone that has to be used in moderation. Side effects include decreased libido, lethargy, and depression." I noticed it has some similar info to the pheromone wiki on LPMP: Androstadienone: Reported drawbacks: * Some men have reported that after lengthy/repeated exposure, they begin to feel depressed. Some experts refute this - saying that it's not "depression" in the strictest sense, but a feeling of relaxed sedation that the wearer or person exposed may not be able to "shake off" at will. It is not logical for a hormone naturally produced by resting males to cause genuine depression during waking hours, but rather, it may hinder feelings of excitement or clarity usually felt throughout a normal day. * Some women have reported that it makes them feel very aroused, and if denied sex, become unusually frustrated and irritable. Has anyone noticed any long term depression from wearing A1 on daily basis, or any other blends? Or does the post on the other forum have to do with a particular manufacturer? Since I am still new to pheros, I do try to take breaks, but I find that I still resort to them towards the evening (showering before bed). Thank you!
  22. I just posted a review of the UN SWS here: http://lovepotion.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=5575
  23. I have a review for SWS phero - I've been testing it for over a week now. I got this unscented, full bottle, 60/40 spray, without getting any samples beforehand. It was something I just figured I had to have given my job situation. I also got a Totem: Beaver sample to keep at my desk, in the same order as the UN, in case I need to reapply throughout the day. (I live in Phoenix, AZ, and although it's the middle of October, it's still warm outside) Background: female engineer, working in a predominantly male environment, with many of them having a misogynist attitude. I am also the youngest on my team, and my goal is to make a stance in the next few months. First day, I did 3 sprays: belly, chest, back of my neck, plus two swipes of the Totem: Beaver sample on my arms. Needless to say I was in OD land. I was soooo irritable, it wasn't funny. I had a fight with my SO at work. The day started with a very important meeting with higher management and even though I should have been able to drive at least part of the conversation, I just sat there, angry. No one even turned to me with any questions. I didn't know how to shower faster. Lesson learned. The next few days I only did 1 spray, and applied a couple of Totem: Beaver swipes in the afternoon. I was calm, but no other noticeable effects - neither on self, nor on others. Given that I was driving a team to solve a particular issue, they did tend to look at me for some guidance anyway, but there was no over the top respect, or anyone being nice. My manager did not show much more interest than he usually does. Yesterday I decided to take a risk and increase it to 2 sprays - especially since I had my weekly meeting with my manager. It seems this might be my sweet spot. I felt confident and in charge, but calm. Everywhere at work people seemed to look at me to want to say hi. I even got a high five from someone as I passing by. My manager checked on the status of my project as he saw me walking in the cafe at lunch and he said "good job!" - that's uncommon for him. In the afternoon I applied two swipes of Totem: Beaver, just to refresh. Then came our 1:1 meeting. He complimented me and said he's noticed I've been a lot more aggressive and confident lately, and that he likes that (but that I have to be careful whose feathers I ruffle). The rest of the meeting it was him looking at me for input on issues I had not be involved in. I felt I had very eloquent answers to all his questions - even though I may not have been "in the know". I was able to speak as if I really knew what I was talking about. (Hmmm... this phero might be good for a sales person) After I left the office I kept working from home. Even on phone meetings I felt very in charge and respected. The trouble was to turn off my computer and go do something fun - I got so task oriented and focused, I felt I could have kept going, even though it was 8:30pm and I had been working for 12 hours. I would say SWS is a winner for me! I will keep experimenting as I do have other team members that have different personalities and who may need Open Windows instead. The team lead, who is very stiff and always gives me the impression that he doesn't like women, was on vacation yesterday, so I could not tell how the two sprays worked on him. Plus, I still want to give Dominance a try at work though. By the way, I am still looking for an LP cover for SWS. I was hoping LP #9 would be the one, but that is very sharp and masculine on me. So far I've been using commercial perfume.
  24. I need advice on the best phero blend to use in a situation like going shopping for a car for example, or negotiating with venues/caterers/service providers. In my immediate case, I am planning my upcoming wedding, and I need to negotiate with my potential caterer and cake maker. I probably won't have a florist, but you know, everything that goes with a wedding, I need to negotiate. I'm not very good when it comes to that. What pheros do you recommend to make the sales person be more willing to agree with my price and request? First try is tomorrow - meeting with our potential caterer (male). Our venue/event coordinator is a woman. I have (all scented samples): Open windows Swimming with sharks Popularity Potion Heart and Soul Cougar (have never tested it) LFN LFM (although I don't like the scent it comes in) SS4W Lumina (have never tested it) Topper Plus some more sexual ones. Thank you!
