  1. Interesting! I am getting in a terrible throw-caution-to-the-winds habit of boosting bottles, but sometimes I just like to commit! I've been thinking of doing another Perfect Match scent, and since you mentioned bonding in the intent, I was tossing that idea around for your PE. The more I read the notes for Sanctuary the more excited I get -- I am in a situation (not romantic, but very important) where I need to be working on building trust and safety with someone, and I think Sanctuary, plus Perfect Match, might be ideal! I was thinking BCM might appeal to you because I know you love Kat Suit, which I referenced for Mara when deluging her with details about what I wanted... DD and Kat Suit are my two favorite "dark" LPs. Kat Suit to me is very serious, all business dark and powerful, so I wanted this to be more playful. And DD is playful to me, but very upscale elegant -- somehow it always makes me feel like I'm hanging out in the penthouse suite, and I wanted this to be a little more rough and tumble adventurous. We shall see! Now that Misty Melon has been unveiled (and it sounds amazing!) I'm dying to know what's in Bonne Belle and Calrissian!
  2. Forgive me for butting in, Mara, but it looks like maybe Storemy got missed upthread for the list? And now I must go drool over the notes for the NRs! My mind is EXPLODING from all the abundant riches you have for us... how on earth do you do it all?!
  3. I was having the same thought about the Sugared line! Decadent Diva had black musk in it -- and that scent is one of my favorites but I am very eager to see how the musk plays apart from the amber and sandalwood. SOOOO excited! Question: are you getting any of your Sanctuary bottles phero'd? Do you have a sense of what would go best with it? I am dying to know about the Misty Melon Patch!
  4. Welcome, Olderbutwiser! Sneaky Clean is one of my first loves and all times faves at LP -- thanks for reminding me! I look forward to reading more of your reviews... you've clearly got the knack of it. :-)
  5. They are gorgeous! Isn't it fun to immortalize our beloveds in this particular way! I can't wait to hear what Mara came up with for Calrissian. :-)
  6. NuTrix, I can't wait to try Sanctuary! These all look so lovely! So mine were themed around my feline familiars...... both my cats are Siamese-barn cat crosses (which is kind of scary: all of the intelligence and people bonding drive of Siamese with the street smarts of a barn cat. They can open anything. ANYTHING). One is all black, and a mischievous little devil (the first week I brought him home, I heard myself ask at one point, "Crow, why do you have pea soup in your ears?" and that kind of set the tone for life with him). Black cats stand for all sorts of luck and power to me! I told Mara that I wanted Black Cat Mojo to be sleek and strong and sexy but also playful and mischievous. So the kitten is just perfect! My other guy looks like a Snowshoe Siamese, so I picked notes a bit tongue in cheek to be a portrait: white musk for his belly and feet and face, lavender for his gorgeous blue eyes, buttercream for the paler color on his coat, and woodsmoke for the seal point coloring. But I also was envisioning this as my perfect sleep scent -- I told Mara I wanted a smoky creamy lavender cloud! Oh, Mara, thank you SO much! I cannot wait to try these!
  7. Yeah, now that I think about it.... Mara, I think I need one more Black Cat Mojo! :-)
  8. Well, I started planning them just before the shop closed in December so, you know, the product of MONTHS of obsessing! And I love yours! Are you getting it phero'd?
  9. OMG OMG OMG!!!!! So excited to open up the laptop this morning and find these here! Labels look gorgeous! Seajammarket, are those pix of your actual bebes? So cute! May I reserve one Charlene's Sanctuary? And one Molly's Blue Magnolia? And yes, two of the kittehs are mine! I can't believe how perfect the labels are, Mara! LOVE the art on Siamese Cloud, and how adorable and trouble-making does that black kitten look! So these are meant to be kind of weirdly complementary as a pair -- I'm on my way to work so will give more description later but here are the notes: Black Cat Mojo -- black musk, creamy coffee, leather and woodsmoke. Siamese Cloud -- white musk, lavender, buttercream and woodsmoke.
  10. Ooh, that is very good to know! I have a similar problem, and to solve it with something that would leave such a lovely scent.... win-win!
  11. So my mom has been asking pretty much every day since I ordered her bottles of the Big Easy, when do I think it might get here? There was great squeeing in the land when I told her I got the ship notice. LP addiction by proxy, people! Warn your loved ones -- IT CAN HAPPEN.
  12. Oh SQUEEEEEE happy dance! These look amazing! Can't wait for notes!
  13. I think she's using it as a room spray. She has a friend she trades massage therapy with, and she said she spritzed a little of the sampler in the air, when they were working last week, and now she wants her whole house to smell like her massage room. All. The. Time. Shoot, I'd really like to try this again! :-)
  14. I snagged this on the trade threads (thanks, LadyV) and I'm not sure why I haven't reviewed yet -- I've worn it several times, and though it wasn't an instant love it keeps growing on me! Dusty bitter chocolate at first, this blend is one where I have trouble singling out notes. It's warm and sparkly -- I have the weirdest visual of cocoa powder spilled on a polished rosewood table with a handful of diamonds. And I really needed both warmth and sparkle today, navigating the snowdrifts on Main Street!

    Esther

This is intriguing -- I had no idea what to expect, reading the notes. On me, this is very sheer and delicate and at the same time there is juiciness to it that is very feminine and sensual. I get the honey, and hints of apricot and fig. The myrrh is grounding and the spices are far in the background. Elegant and stealth sexy. Very nice!
  16. Got my bottle out for the first time in a couple of weeks, and oh, this just gets better and better for me! I actually have two sprays of this -- one virgin, one boosted with Empathy Potion. That phero is perfectly congruent for me -- this is subtle, soft, and the scent is so calming and encouraging. At the same time, so beautiful and feminine that I get a very quietly strong confident centered sense of myself. With or without the phero, this one works very powerfully for me to create an atmosphere of safety and trust. With a little elegance of course! For the record, I don't think of myself as a florals person at all -- when all the pre-release chatter about this was going on I thought, nope, not going to need it. But that is The Power of the Sampler.
  17. Oh woohoo, you did it! Hope you love it as much as I have!
  18. This is the evening for trying out lavenders... I really like this! When I read the description I couldn't imagine how peppermint would work with lavender but it's amazing! It feels extremely fresh and just the littlest bit chilly, in a way that I think would be amazing for hot weather. The lavender does its work with all the soothing calming properties, and the mint makes the texture very light and airy, and somehow adds this cool note. I can picture this being the perfect sleep aid during a heat wave.
  19. Velvet lavender indeed! This is lovely -- delicate but at the same time not wispy or ethereal, the jasmine gives it a wonderfully rounded, full-bodied texture even though it's a quiet scent. It's sweet but not sugary. Thanks for sharing that it works well as a spray, NuTrix, I can see this as the most gorgeous refreshing sleep scent, spritzed on both me and my linens!
  20. Well, I still haven't had a chance to test this, but my mom emailed me last night and made me order her TWO bottles!
  21. Ooh, let us know how it works when you get it!

    Pixie Dust

I have a sample of this coming AND I'm looking for a couple of scents to do with Treasured Hearts, so thanks so much for this review, NuTrix! Can't wait to try!

    Defrosted

This one is the freshest, cleanest green scent I've come across yet! I'm looking at the list of notes and trying to pick out individual ones and failing. It definitely has a unisex vibe to it, would be great on a guy (wish I had a guy to try it out on!). This one almost has an aromatherapy feel to it -- there is something very soothing and clarifying about the blend. But energizing as well -- it doesn't strike me as a sleep scent, more like a good thing to put on if there is an endlessly busy hard day ahead and you need something to keep you focused and calm amidst the chaos.

    Nola

Argh, this is why it's so good to try samples. Wet, in the vial, I get the fabulous blast of uber-vanilla. Rich and only the tiniest bit boozy and just delicious. Unfortunately, I've tried this 3 times now and my skin just does something ridiculously awful with it. It goes on wet, and for a moment I get something quite different from the vial but still intriguing -- much smokier, like burning leaves, quite earthy underneath that amazing vanilla. I get a huge nostalgic wave everytime I smell it, and in that instant decide I must purchase a full bottle. But then within five more minutes the vanilla departs, the smoke departs, and it gets plastic and weird and I end up having to wash it off because it starts to turn my stomach. So jealous of those for whom it's working! Especially since I am among those who generally adore smoke notes. But no doubt something else wonderful and smoky-vanilla-esque will come along that I can wear. And clearly Nola itself is wonderful. Just not a match for my chemistry.
