I wore this the other day with a non-romantic male friend, who is like a brother to me (in terms of the depth of the friendship) but with whom I sometimes have a tricky time. I think it worked on both of us -- he was very attentive and kind to me, but I also found myself able to focus, listen & ask questions about his situation in more depth than I usually do. Also felt like there were follow up effects in the days following that encounter; I got unsolicited emails offering more help with the project we're currently working on together, very considerate of my schedule, etc. This is very good stuff, and I ordered a bottle of Decadent Diva boosted with it, which I think is going to be a great combination. Can't wait for that package to arrive!

Another foodie triumph! The chocolate is soft on me, the nuts are, well, nutty and I can get the wafts of coconut. The only problem -- normally I love foodie scents as a great substitute for eating, but this has me absolutely jonesing for some serious chocolates! It's not just figuratively mouthwatering; my mouth is ACTUALLY WATERING.

Yay! Spritzing the hair is exactly what I was thinking of, glad to hear it works. Thanks irish eyes -- although this makes me wonder if I need a SECOND bottle in oil.... hee!

Yes, I finally succumbed on this one! It's funny -- it's not and never has been an instant love for me, this scent. And yet it's compelling -- I keep going back to my sample, and I can think of so many settings where I could wear this that I would NOT be able to do other scents that I have more of an instant salivation reaction to. This one is so classy. It's starting to feel a bit like Sneaky Clean to me, in that way. And I'm dying to have an LFM boosted perfume. I decided to get it as a spray -- has anyone else tried it in that form?

I agree with what's been said above about cake vs. candy -- this is the latter on me (as it clearly was designed to be). Very heady wave of cherry on first application, and then the white chocolate and marshmallow emerge as a bed of softening, sugar-sweetening influences. Decadent and luxurious. Also very quiet on me, very quickly. This is one that could mostly be my fun little secret if I wore it to work -- I bet no one else would notice it unless standing very close to me, but whenever I needed a little private uplift I could huff my arm and be transported to some glamorous setting with gorgeous white linen tablecloths, crystal chandeliers and a string quartet playing quietly in the background.....

Mmm, the name says it all: this is cake for sure, and the strawberries are gorgeous real fruit! It settles down quickly on me and is a subtle, sophisticated foodie scent. I am not sure if I'll go full bottle -- not because it isn't gorgeous, but I'm not sure how much use I would get out of it (if I didn't have my Petit Four Your Thoughts, it might be a different story!). I am starting to look at my LP collection and realize I have only so many hours in the day and so many days in the week! But if you are looking for pink cake and like to wear it a lot, look no further--this is IT.

On me so far this is very fruity -- like candied watermelon! I am hoping that once a few days have passed, it will settle down into the gorgeousness others are describing.

This is my first orange LP! It's really lovely -- candied, but not like candy. I can taste -- yes, taste! -- the real fruit under the added sweetness of the almond. It's got a beautifully subtle bite to it, just the perfect tiny touch of bitter citrus adding spice and texture to the sweet. I'm not sure if I would wear enough to warrant a full bottle, but I am going to enjoy the heck out of this sample. It also seems like a very versatile scent in terms of seasons -- I can picturing it being perfect for summer, juicy and refreshing, but it's also festive and warm for the cold weather. Yum!

I had an unexpected piece of freelance work fall into my lap, which I decided was a sign to fully indulge with sprays of: La Sylphide, Decadent Diva boosted with Perfect Match, and Marsha Mellow boosted with Heart and Soul. Can't wait! And now cannot SPEND for quite some time.... or, as mentioned above, February NRs....

Oh, such loveliness as always! It's been a tricky month, and having this LP gorgeousness to come home to was such a gift. Thank you for all you do!

This is my favorite of the NRs, the unqualified home run! Which is good, since I went full bottle unsniffed.... on me, I get a wonderful rich smoky blend. It's dark, but not a heavy darkness. The texture is amazing, like a big dollop of heavy cream poured in black coffee, or the way fire threads through a smoldering coal. (In fact, when I first put it on, I actually did a double take because it reminded me so much of Allumette). I am not such an unrelieved fan of sandalwood, or resins in general, these days, because I can get a headache when anything is too incense-y, but Decadent Diva stays just over the right side of the line for me. It's complex, sultry and surprisingly subtle. It rides close to my skin, so it isn't too loud, just a gorgeous rich muskiness. I went ahead and ordered another bottle -- since I missed out on Allumette, I've been looking for something to get boosted with Perfect Match, and this is the winner! It also has wonderful staying power on me. With a lot of LPs, especially during these cold dry winter months, my skin tends to eat the scents quite quickly (which has its upside, since it lets me change up what I'm wearing every couple of hours). But sometimes I want to put something on and revel in it all day. I got home to my box, reached for this first and didn't even really slather it on, and I woke up this morning with a lovely soft echo of the scent still on my skin. Just gorgeous! Congrats, Dolly, on creating such a masterpiece!

OK, postal tracking says package is due today -- left Nashua early this morning. Fingers crossed!

This is one where I was not attracted to the description, but the reviews made me give it a shot. I'm glad I tried it, even though it's not for me, since it's different than what I was expecting from anything I'd read, and that's an excellent reminder that I just can't predict! On me, this is very peppery and sharp -- I get a little bit of floral soap behind that, but the overwhelming impression is spiky and hot, almost unisex or masculine. The complexity others have alluded to is there, and I appreciate it, but the blend is not for me. It hurts my nose a little. At this point my list is so long that I'm kind of relieved when I don't fall in love with something! However, I've been on the lookout for a Perfect Match blend since I fell in love with my sample of Allumette after the fact.... as others have said, Mara always does such an amazing job of pairing pheros and scents that I want always want to sample the phero'd blends. I think, though, now I will figure out something from my want list that will be a good carrier for Perfect Match. I love having so many options here at LP!

OMG, yes, I forgot to say: the Valentine's red bag is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, and I am going to be storing extra special LPs in there!

Skimming back through and I don't believe I've ever reviewed LP Red! Which is shocking, since it's the first LP I ever purchased, and I intend never to be without it again. On me, it doesn't translate as overtly sexy, it's one of those stealth sexy LPs! It's warm and smooth, and the cinnamon is mellowed and softened in the most delicious (sic) way by the vanilla. I don't get patchouli at all. I like what's said above about foodie but not quite. It's extremely comforting to me, but a very sophisticated attractive kind of comfort. I like this one for settings where I don't want to be overtly sexual but do want to feel beautiful and feminine (not always the goal, believe me!). It's a great one if I'm spending time with a man where I don't really want anything to happen, but I want that extra boost of "you're a guy and I'm a girl and even though that's not directly relevant, isn't it..... interesting?" I am definitely contemplating a boosted bottle (like to have an unphero'd bottle on hand as a staple, as well, because this one gets great results all on its own!)-- though after a number of thoughtful and interesting comments in various review threads, I am leaning away from the sexy (originally was thinking Bang) and towards something like Heart and Soul or Perfect Match. Because all this sophisticated comfort plus empathy and bonding.... ooooh, I would be scary. I just know it.

Aww, LadyV, thanks! If it's any comfort, this was my January 1st order (got something boosted so it took a little longer) so I will still be gnashing my teeth and pulling my hair out in longing for the arrival of my NRs order along with the rest of you!

And it helps me to clarify -- I think part of it with La Sylphide is that I can think so many places where it would be perfect to wear it.... but that doesn't necessarily translate into me WANTING to wear it. I think I will hold off a little longer, for now anyway! And oh my lord yes, this is the most fun! My package got to Nashua today.... maybe it lands on my doorstep tomorrow!

I am so tempted by this! Trying to reason through.... I like the scent but it's not hands down one of my love/must-haves. Also, I am still waiting on the two orders I have already placed this month! I really like the phero, though, and I believe this is the only LP that comes with LFM. BUT I have squirreled away some Christmas money for when the amazing Mara starts taking Private Edition orders, and one of them is specifically intended to be an LFM scent... So what to do, what to do! Enabling rationalizations welcome....

Ooh, layering with Red! That sounds delicious and decadent -- will have to try as soon as my order arrives! And yes, daytime version of Red is a great way to characterize.

Mmmm, love this one! I'm in LP Red withdrawal, waiting for my order, so snagged this on the trade thread... also, so far the LPs with Cougar I have tried have just not been "me." This one is! I like the description of LP Red Lite -- not in a bad way, just that this is a bit higher in pitch (if that makes any sense?) and a bit more translucent. It's warm and spicy and subtly blended -- it's harder for me to pick out individual notes in this one than it is with Red (esp. the cinnamon and vanilla). It feels glamorous and sensuous but not in your face sexy. Looking forward to wearing it out and about town this morning!
