Sniffed up close, something in here is arguing with me. I think it's the lime, cause it's pulling some kind of dish soap nonsense. But, when I catch the actual sillage wafting around, it smells very clear and bright and clean. Very nice! I'm keeping my sample and giving it another run to see if anything changes, cause I love the concept of this.

I second this! I wore this yesterday, finally reunited with it after having it stolen from me over a year ago(I suspect the magic doesn't work on thieves!), anyways, first off my daughter started crawling all over me like a little bear cub, then we went for a walk and my older neighbor who doesn't usually say much,stopped and was super chatty with me. She was talking up my baby,my haircut,on and on. Even her dog was being super nice,letting Lena grab his hair as he patiently bore her iron grip,not a snarl out of him. Then my mom came home,and she was super nice too, which really she is anyways,if a little preachy--no preachiness last night though-yay! I will say that there is a pretty major difference in the scent of a new bottle verses an old one. Its much lighter, needs to age a little. This stuff ages and melds like a fine wine,sooooooo good! I agree with Lovestruck too, this stuff should be a mandatory try for all LP fans, its just amazing. Elena will have a lot of scents that remind her of mom when she grows up--but I hope this is one of the top ones. I also hope she will wear it herself one day. It's like wearing a warm comforting hug around the shoulders all day long. May LP O and I never be apart again!

Ok, it's been a couple weeks and I'm gonna try to do this one some justice! First of all, I'm in love with it. I wanna sing the Olivia Newton John song to it. It brings out my young rebel heart...it makes me feel about ten years younger! It makes me want to go out and commit harmless crimes like I did in my twenties,like breaking into long abandoned buildings and exploring them with my friends, or spray painting graffiti under a bridge with a bunch of skater boys. Things I did, this brings back those memories. Makes me feel...makes me REMEMBER the 'rascal' in me. That I used to be young,sassy and very daring. It reminds me that even though I'm not that person anymore,she IS still in there,and letting a bit of her out once in awhile isn't a bad thing. In my twenties, I belonged to a fairly large group of musicians,artists and hooligans and we called ourselves "The Rouge River Rebels". We did a lot of harmlessly illegal things like that, looting abandoned houses,breaking into buildings to explore, etc..plenty of legal fun stuff too,lots of music festivals,'Primal' camping trips, parties, BBQs,blah blah blah. There was a ton of us,all young, the world our oyster,none of us knew yet that the world could be cruel. The Rebels are long defunct now, were all grown up with jobs and kids,but this scent reminds me of that time SO much. It's very dear to my heart. The scent itself is delicious. A thick cappuccino pudding you could stick a fork in, while wearing a vintage Brook's black leather jacket. Narcotic black musk with it's cola-like edge,smoothing it all out and projecting puffs of goodness everywhere. But for me its the nostalgia, it washes over me each time I wear it. Mix tapes, kicking up dust and trouble on the street, making out in backseats, ruffians at the drive-in theatre,long summer days,murder city nights,road trips,all long gone. All care free. You don't realize how special those days are till they are over. My life is even better now than it was then,but I'll always cherish those years. I guess more than anything,this reminds me of my best friend Eddie. He was my constant companion throughout those years,and he's gone now. But I can smell his leather jacket in Mojo,I close my eyes and I'm back... I can wear this now and enjoy how absolutely wildly delicious it is, and I can remember that I DO have a wild side,and its perfectly well she comes out sometimes. Your welcome my friend! I'm so glad you like it! I never really thought of it with that grown up lady sort of angle, but now that you mention it, I can see that too! Also now I want to check out the Delacroix Dynasty(as though I can somehow find time to read, I'm still reading the same book I was reading when I went into labor! It's easy to read short blurbs with a baby,but getting into a book is another matter). The well has finally run dry on this one..I only have my own lil stash left. But maybe we can brew it again one day. Gonna give her a spin right now...I am waiting for my mailman so I'll do a hand test. I bet that civet is doing a classic perfume vibe thing,and I want to check it out with new eyes,ya know? Thanks for mentioning that aspect! I have come to know so much more about perfume than I did when I made this, and I'm finding new facets in lots of different things Its fun!

I have this newfound love for orchid since trying Black Panther and Orchid Fairy Cake. Its weird, all these years of collecting, and isolating favorite genre's and notes, and it seems there's STILL many surprises to be had! I meant it six years ago when I said this was great stuff, but I didn't deconstruct it at the time. LPs Orchids are so fresh and pretty, I wonder if I would even appreciate this note so much from other houses. Oddly, it smells very "shiny and new" to me, almost with a vinyl kind of edge(just a whisper, a fleeting thought). I have grown to love it. What's neat about this one is how complex and commercial it smells for such a simple group of notes. It still reminds me of Beautiful, I still like it more, it still lasts forever. I love this still and will never trade it away. And Djac, if your still out there somewhere, we miss you lady! You may come and go, so may I...but the beautiful scents we help dream up are forever!

Got this now (thanks Pherengineer!) Yay! I'm sort of a white musk collector. I have all kinds of brands this stuff from Jovan drugstore to Arabian attar,my love began back in the mid 90's when the Body Shop and Jovan's version came on the scene and the kids went wild! Particularly the goth kids that I ran with. The club we went to was called Club 911, there were cages hanging from the ceiling,smoke machines pumping out technicolor steam, lots of vinyl and latex holographic suits,and the kids convulsing to Nine Inch Nails,Front 242 and Skinny Puppy....and believe it or not, these dark souls scent of choice? White Musk (and China Rain,Huge back then. I always thought it was kind of funny,but hey I wore it too. At the club and after,haunting Denny's diner,driving the poor servers nuts with our orders of coffee and not much else(hey,we were 16 man! ),clouds of this stuff was permeating everything,rising to the rafters. Those were the days,by golly. These days, I'm a momma, and white musk goes just as well if not -better- with THAT sort of vibe. I was really excited to see what LP's version was like isolated, and it's wonderful! Clean,smooth and a bit sweet,as comforting as momma's hug(or your old pair of Doc's). This version is a tad subtle but thats ok, It lasts on the skin forever and I enjoy the sweet aspect of it very much. Good one!

Church is also where this scent takes me, but unlike you,Skillfully, I LOOOOOOOOOOVVVE IIIIIIIIIIIIIT! I think I'm second only to Lynne in wanting this one back. See, I have these "archetypes" in perfumery that I'm always looking for. "The PERFECT fill in the blank scent", dig? I'm sure many of us have that. For me I want the perfect doll scent,baby scent, white musk, blueberry, Majmua, forest, yadayadayada. But a major thing I've been after for years and years is thee perfect church scent, and this is it! Its a Catholic church, with censer incense burning. A high blue painted cathedral with statues everywhere,incorruptible saints encased in wax, mahogany pews, stone, candles, furniture polish, and the residual POWER and energy from all the prayers,happiness,crying,weddings,funerals, living and dying that people spent themselves on. That energy resides,and it hums in the air like an electric current. This potion is exactly that; a potion. It recalls this old,OLD place to me as well as a little piece of every person to step through its doors, as well as the angels and answering deities,however you may see them. This brings strength, indeed. In me it brings a sort of calm and solace as well. I know it's not MEANT to, but to me it conveys Church more than any other scent I've ever tried, even Messe de Minuit by Etro or Holy Terror by Arcana (thanks for the tip on that one Luna, I do love it, but I love this one a lil bit more). Top Five Ever!

"Make dainty motions with my hands"... ha ha ha! Priceless, I would pay money to see a video of you doing that! I LOVE this! I love violet anyways and I always wish I saw it in more scents. This one will be a full bottle for me as it smells heavenly AND lasted all day on me! Yay! Aside from that, I think everyone has it covered! On me, its more violets than cake, but the cake is definitely there. Its a pinky kind of cake too, not too buttery. I'm finding these are pretty hit or miss on me and this one is definitely a HIT. I only have a Lil sample now. Can't wait to slather this puppy on!

I agree that this is delicious. Red cherry vanilla cake, mm mm! But sadly my skin ate this within an hour. Gonna layer this one over the rose fairy cake, maybe it will last longer that way. I KNOW it'll smell fantastic!

Ahh, nah. I like the way it smells, a lot. It does remind me of the wonderful LP Pink scents that I love, but its like you put them on a diet,it's just too light for me. I can appreciate that a lot of people would enjoy this as a sheer scent and for layering, but me, I like to eat ALL the dessert.

Mmm! This is my favorite fruit one so far. It's very well balanced on me. The lemon IS bright and cheerful, nary a pledge note in sight. I don't smell any amber, just pretty lemon, white cake and lemon whipped frosting. There's a party in my tummy, so yummy so yummy! This one brought a smile to my face immediately, and Elena seemed to like this one a lot too! Also, this sticks around better than the other fruit cakes I've tried. The florals tend to stick better than the fruits on me(with a few exceptions).

I keep hearing about this Masked Man...people seem to be discussing it all over the boards. Gonna look it up and see if I can find a sample. Also need to add: RAVEN DELACROIX'S SECRET WEAPON (I DIE!! I LOOOOVE IIIIIT) Mark's Tonka Tobaccum!

Love this! Full bottle in my next order! Back in the day I had this Avon Comfort Scents perfume and I actually really loved it. But it was just called spring showers so I didn't know what floral headlined it. Luckily Luna was familiar with the scent and steered me in the right direction. Turns out I really adore the girlish sweet pea. Strange cause light pretty things are usually nothing major to me, I mostly dig resins and incense and really strong stuff. But this is so sweet pink and pretty! Sparkly! Its delicate and clean. Soft and delicious. One of my faves out of the fairy cakes. Also this one doesn't pull a disappearing act an hour after I apply it either. Stays on a good 4-5 hours which is pretty good for something so light and springy!

I have this one coming to me as one of my freebie bottles. Am excited! The only thing I'm a bit concerned about is the cumin..I don't believe that Phantoms Breath had cumin did it? That one smells just like Indian food on me for some dang reason. Makes me soooooo sad. I still have the bottle and keep trying it though. Anyway. I'll find this out soon enough (not soon enough, c'mon mailman!!), but can anyone tell me who has tried this; does it do an Indian food thing? I so hope not. Lemon grass does that $hit too. Goes all Thai food on me.

When I saw LV compare this to dolls, I ran and got my sample. Annnnd and she's right! It sort of reminds me of dolls too, I'm one of those oddballs who wishes it was a little MORE plastic, cause that would be the total doll deal, but it's not quite there. Still worth checking out if your into that kind of thing though(attn: Bruiseviolet!). I'll probably layer this one w/Lindee's My little Cupcake to make it more plastic. On its own though, its very cute. Light sweet and creamy. A bit too fleeting to merit an FB for me, but I'll enjoy the sample.

This is just lovely girly swirly plushy blushing gushyness. It's definitely one of the nicest of the fairy cakes that I've tried so far. Wet, I actually get quite a bit of cake, I can smell the rose back there, but it takes a second to come out fully. When it does, its like everyone says: hyper real and fresh..really stunning. Dries down on me the way it does BB,sort of an attar-ish red rose but that's not till its been on about 2 hours. Stays on better than most of these too, which I appreciate. Dare I say it smells a Lil like a red version of La Fleur? Lighter though, and the icing is still different, but its pretty in that youthful way.

At first sniff, I thought uh oh, Christmas Pomanders are nice, but do I really wanna smell like one? The clove was really throwing its weight around, and the neroli was reading as straight orange at first. In no way was it a bad smell, just really christmasy. But of course as we've learned, sometimes you have to wait awhile. After the first half hour, I really adore this. In fact its one of the scents that made me realize that black musk is an OUTSTANDING note on my skin. The pomander thing really tones down,and the floral aspect of the neroli comes out. My dear sandalwood and black musk switch places with the others and take the lead. Clove becomes a soft accent, and the blend is alive and dark. Criminally sensual. Gorgeous. This does last a good amount of time, but throws less than expected. Still not soft enough to be a complaint, very nice!

Anyone else have a word on this? I love the powdery quality iris has in many vintages, but I'd like to hear a little more about this one. Does it stay fairly well? it sounds lovely! And look at that beautiful lady on the label!
