  1. I'm waiting for the new releases to order, but I already know I'm getting some Sparkle Fuschia, Remind Me Again (just got around to reading more about it and it sounds like a very special potion), and moar Cougar - because really, how could I possibly be without it?

    Lusty Licious

I absolutely love Lusty Licious! Well, that's no surprise, given that blackberry is one of my favourite notes - and boy, is it ever strong on me in this one! (not that I'm complaining, of course ) Ripe juicy berries, a touch of grapefruit for added zing and bubbliness, then a lovely creaminess with a hint of spice. I was surprised to see several people comment that it was faint, because on my skin, it is a big, bold - and really fun - red scent.
  3. Hi Gaby, as we can't send private messages through the forum, maybe you could try emailing Mara directly? (CataLunaLPMP at yahoo.com)
  4. I love berry scents, and I am from the city where lavender crème brûlée was (supposedly) created. Needless to say, I had to try this! The first thing I get is the berry jam - this is a lovely artisan jam, not too sweet and made from the finest red fruits available. Next up is the shortbread. Now, cake/biscuit notes often turn cloying (or burnt!) on me, but this one is very light and just right. I can detect something bready and buttery under the berry jam, but it doesn't scream "baked goods". The lavender doesn't show up until later, almost when you start thinking it's gone MIA. At first it's an unexpected fresh note cutting through the foodiness, then it becomes recognizable as lavender in its own right. If you usually find lavender too sharp and herbal, fear not - this one is soft and floral (like real culinary-grade lavender), and the crème brûlée rounds it out beautifully. I love it when a perfume unfolds in stages like this. Body Paint is unusually complex for a foodie blend. Very unique and totally scrumptious!
  5. Thanks for the laugh, Beccah! I didn't know these ads, but now thanks to YouTube I've also discovered the ones with the frogs, the lizards and the ferret... I wouldn't drink Budweiser if you paid me, but I have to admit their ads are good.
  6. OK, that officially makes it a conspiracy stalking theory, then!
  7. The penguins are feeling left out... :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: :penguin: This can't be good
  8. Given that the Phero M experiment is still taking place, I am guessing towards the very end of the month... HOWEVER! I was on the LPMP site at an ungodly hour last night (too much black tea after dinner -> Ishtar still online at 4:00am ), and the Perfumerie page wouldn't load. Of course it could just be that the server was down for whatever reason... or maybe there was some behind-the-scene programming going on?
  9. The first time I tried this was... let's say interesting. For some reason, it smelled sour and a little overpowering. However, many LPs tend to smell dramatically different to me after a few tries (more so than blends from other perfumers, it seems), so I dabbed some on my arm tonight, and sure enough... a totally different scent! The funny thing is that now I am primarily getting patchouli from it, and there's none in there I think it's the combination of the musks, the woods and the violet that registers as a dry, woodsy patchouli accord to my nose. Anyway - whatever it is, it smells good! Neanderlicious is rich and bold when freshly applied, but it quickly mellows down into a deep floral musk, and it ends up being pretty light after a couple hours.
  10. This one takes a little getting used to - and this is coming from someone who loves honey-based scents! On my first try, I got a strong waxy note, and even a hint of rust, like Invidiana. Trying it again tonight (all in the name of science, you see), it's still a little overpowering, but at least I can detect some cinnamon, honey, and a lot of civet. Which I think we'll agree is a marked improvement over wax and rust - unless you're aiming for a steampunk scent... but I digress. The throw is good but not crazy, and I'm actually getting a very nice honey note when I smell it from a distance - I just can't sniff my arm too closely, or the civet threatens to do rude things to my nose. I *think* I am getting some self-effects from this, although that may be a placebo effect. Time will tell, I guess
  11. This is really lovely, in a very gender-neutral kind of way. It is a little sweet, yet fresh, citrussy and a tad powdery. As it dries down, the amber lends it a bit more depth and body, but this remains a bright scent throughout its various stages. As mentioned in previous reviews, this has the overall feel of a classic men's fragrance, but it is quite soft and wears close to the skin. All in all, an approachable, easy to like scent that I think would be appropriate most everywhere.
  12. As silly as it may sound, I chose A Kiss of Magic over another scented phero I was considering, because the label cracks me up (yes, I am easily entertained!) In the vial and right after applying, I get mostly pomegranate and ginger - very fruity and tangy. However, the ginger burns off quickly, and the peach and vanilla come out after a little while. Phero-wise, I am testing it at home tonight so no field report yet, but I can already tell this is quite relaxing and uplifting. I'm feeling pretty mellow, and I like it.
  13. You're all hilarious! The least we can say is that even when we have zero hints, we still know how to bide our time waiting for the new releases!
  14. And for me it's in the "clean and fresh" category tyvey, that's really interesting, because it's not foody at all on my skin. But it makes me feel like getting a facial and a massage with products that would smell exactly like this, so it would make a good pampering scent.

    Sand Witch

Drat - I love coconut scents, but this one does funny things with my skin chemistry. The quest for the perfect summer scent continues...
  16. It's a very refreshing - literally and figuratively - take on coconut scents. The coconut and the light musk combine into a very fresh, almost watery scent that will be perfect for summer. Even though I do get a hint of pineapple, this is very different from the usual foody, piña colada-like coconut concoctions (say that 3 times fast!) It reminds me more of fresh coconut water, or even of a spa product - it has that clean, rejuvenating vibe to it. Very nice!
  17. Sex Berry Blast goes on very sweet and fruity on me, but as it dries, the berries become less assertive. The honey is wonderfully thick. Add to that the fact that the musk becomes quite prevalent upon drydown, and you have a heady, intoxicating, just-on-this-side-of-gourmand kind of scent.
  18. My skin chemistry is breaking my heart. This smells absolutely wonderful for the first 10 minutes: incensey, resinous, deep, evocative - it's amazing! Alas, I must be amping the citrus, and this glorious scent somehow loses its coherence after drydown. There's this almost soapy, high-pitched citrus hovering over the dark attars and resins at the bottom, but no middle notes to round them out and give the blend cohesiveness. Oh well, not every blend can be a hit, but I sure will miss these first 10 minutes of olfactory bliss!
  19. This is quite pretty, if a little too innocent/girly for my taste. There is a slight hint of soapiness in the background, but it is so faint that it doesn't bother me at all. At first it is predominantly floral, then the fruit comes out during drydown, progressively lending more body and depth to what is otherwise a soft, romantic kind of scent. Lovers of airy, slightly spicy florals should definitely try this one

    Pandamaniac

This is a thousand times lighter and fresher than the scents I usually pick for myself, and I must say it is quite beautiful. Bamboo and other green notes can get really shrill or soapy on my skin. Not so here, as there is an underlying creaminess and fresh powderiness that temper the other notes very nicely. The more samples I try, the more I notice that LMPM's fresh and clean scents - a family I tend to stay well away from - can actually be very pleasant on me. This warrants further exploration
  21. Even though this is quite creamy and sweet, it's not cloying at all. Actually, for the first 20 minutes, the overall feel is rather savoury to me. I get one of those "ghost note" effects, as the cardamom and curry register like coriander on my skin. [Now don't panic, the coriander is not really there - but I am used to smelling it in combination with cardamom and curry in Indian food, so my brain automatically fills in the blank and adds a dash of coriander to "complete" the blend.] Things go back to normal after drydown, where I do get the fragant coconut rice pudding other reviewers have described. This iwould be perfect for those who like exotic scents but often find them too bold - this blend has a bit of throw, but it never gets "loud" and mostly stays close to the skin.
  22. Not me, I'm already busy being Aladdin Sane So, if we're thinking (and how could we not?) Glitter -> Labyrinth -> Outrageously tight pants Goblins, I'm predicting a rebrew of Goblin Goo, with an extra shot of poisonous peach. Seriously though, I can't wait for the unveiling of Phero M - it's been such an interesting experiment! Darbla and Elizabeth, I'm afraid we'll have to wait for the end of the world to come and go before the new releases, since Luna said in another thread they wouldn't be out by Sunday. Have we had any other hints aside from that?
  23. Let's stalk! Put on your red shoes and dance the blues... er, I mean, put on your speculating hat, and let's stalk under the moonlight (only serious moonlights need apply) [/gratuitousbowiereferences] Does anyone want a cup of ninja coffee to go with their donut?
  24. Ladies, we need a proper stalking & speculating thread for the new releases, end of the world notwithstanding. Shall I start one?
